Karasuno x Gender Neutral!Reader Headcanons

Warnings: Language. That's pretty much it.

Author's Note: I've been having a pretty heavy case of writer's block especially with a lot of things going on in my life right now. My mental health is a bit unstable, but I had this idea written down in my list of writing ideas and thought that it was so cute. I hope you all enjoy, and I'll probably make headcanons for the rest of the schools too!

After dating for a couple of months, he’s very comfortable with you and loves spending time with you

QUALITY TIME AND GIFT GIVING BOYFRIEND.

Whether you like volleyball or not, he’s asking you to help him practice, come to his games, come to his practice matches, he wants you to be there for EVERYTHING

If you manage to show your support by making him a sign or putting his number on your cheeks at one of his games??????

He definitely will deny it, but he absolutely adores it.

“You should do this more often, it was sweet.”

Shoyo teases you guys all the time and says that you’re the only one that brings out the rational side of Tobio

That will normally end with Shoyo getting hurt somehow, no matter how much you tell Kageyama to leave him alone

Hinata Shoyo:

OH MY GODDDDDDDDD

The absolute biggest ball of sunshine ever

Golden. Retriever. Boyfriend.

He’s very heavy on physical touch and quality time

No matter what you’re doing, Shoyo always wants to be there just to see what you’re doing

“Ooh whatcha up to lovey?”

He’s like a lap dog. He will lay his head in your lap just so he can stare up at you while you’re doing whatever you’re doing

Whenever you show up to his games he gets SO NERVOUS???? Like his stomach issues multiply by a hundred because you’re literally in the stands to watch HIM.

In the end, he always tries his best because he wants you to be so proud of him and enjoy watching him play!!

Everyone on the team loves you, you’re literally the only person that can make Shoyo shut up for more than five minutes because he just LOVES to admire you and appreciate how perfect you are.

He’s so affectionate it’s too cute.

Yamaguchi Tadashi:

Tadashi just loves when you’re being you.

He’s always sneaking glances at you and just thinking about how soft your features are and how lucky he is to have bagged someone like you.

“Hey love, I found this super cute keychain while I was at the store with Tsuki the other day and it reminded me of you!”

“I remember you saying that this was your favorite and they only had one left, so I had to get it before someone else that wasn’t you did!”

He’s just so thoughtful. He always remembers the little things.

The very first day you kissed him? He celebrates it every year by giving you a million smooches.

You only like one very specific flavor of ice cream? He will never ever give you a different flavor and goes to multiple stores if he has to when they don’t have it

He isn’t the biggest with PDA, but he will most definitely hold your hand and kiss your cheek, forehead, or your hand.

He just gets a little shy when he’s out in public with you, but only because he doesn’t want other people looking at you and thinking that they have a chance with you.

He’s so non-confrontational, but if push comes to shove, he’ll make sure that everyone knows you’re his.

He just loves you so much and he’s so glad that you’re his. Forever. <3

Kei Tsukishima:

HE’S SO SARCASTIC IT’S ANNOYING.

Likes to play this game in public where he acts like he isn’t your boyfriend

“Excuse me, do I know you?”

HE LITERALLY HELD HANDS WITH YOU WALKING INTO THE STORE?!?!??!

You can be sarcastic too, so he’s just glad that you can take jokes and rip on his teammates or randos in the street

This dude has such a killer resting bitch face when he notices people eyeing you.

Noya tested his luck flirting with you one time and, despite Noya being his upperclassman, Tsuki almost killed him with just one look

He secretly loves how much you fuss over him.

“Babe, your glasses are so DIRTY. Here let me clean them before you run into something,”

He literally stopped the habit of cleaning his lenses because you’ll just take them and clean them for him

He loves watching you fog the lenses up with your breath and wipe them with the microfiber cloth that came in his case

Even if you only look like a big blur of colors to him and you’re all blurry <3

Tanaka Ryuunosuke:

The most respectful yet horny boyfriend at the same time

“What the hell do you mean that guy cat called you?”

He says as his hand is resting on your ass, giving it an occasional squeeze from time to time.

Very overprotective, but not in an overbearing way

Despite how loud and chaotic he may be (especially when he’s with Noya) he always picks up on your small cues and knows when you’re uncomfy or feeling a little out of place

He loves to bring you up at all times

“You know that’s crazy, because my baby loves to eat meat buns and can easily smash like seven of them in one sitting. *sigh* I’m so in love.”

Daichi literally just told him what he ate for lunch today when Tanaka asked.

PDA is his JAM.

Always has a hand somewhere on you and loves how you just nuzzle into his touch whenever he’s with you

It’s everything he’s ever wanted in life and he’s so stoked that he finally has it

His favorite place is your ass though. It’s easy access and it’s very soft and comfy in his palm

The type of boyfriend to annoy you and push your buttons all day and then just lay a million kisses all over your face at the end of the day as he tells you how much he loves you

He’s so hyped up to do anything with you

He’s definitely the type to enjoy running errands with you because he pretends that you’re married already and that these errands are just married couple tingz

He loves to embarrass you in public

Yall will be at a store while you’re just looking at clothes and trying to find some new outfits before he starts yelling as loud as he can so that people from five aisles down can hear him

You literally walk away and act like you don’t know him for the rest of the day

Nonetheless, he’s so appreciative of you and makes sure you know how much he loves you

The second that you first announced to the team that you were dating, you could’ve sworn you saw tears of joy falling from Kiyoko’s eyes

You keep him grounded and always help bring him out of the dark places his mind goes to when he messes up during games

Hearing you tell him how good of a libero he is and how amazing he is always snaps him out of things. He’d be a wreck without you

Daichi Sawamura:

The most caring boyfriend ever literally what the fuck-

He worries about your well-being all the time and isn’t afraid to show how much he cares about you no matter where you guys are

Sure, he’ll scold you for being clumsy and tripping in the gym, but also?

“Why the hell did they wax the floors before we started practicing? We’re just gonna dirty them again anyways?”

He’s such a passionate lover

Even after practice, you can’t smell that musty stench of sweat on him because it’s masked by all the deodorant he puts on.

MOST DEFINITELY smells like a bath and body works scent. It changes depending on the season and he loves smelling good according to the season

“Suga, is that… champagne toast?”

You bet your sweet ass it is.

Suga gives the most heartfelt and warm hugs in the world, it’s like hugging a warm blanket.

He’s so loving and it shows in all of his words and actions.

“Aww darling, let me wipe your nose. I told you it was going to be cold and to wear a thicker sweater when we talked on the phone this morning,”

When he says stuff like that his face is literally just >:(

His kisses are so soft. He loves to kiss your nose because of the way it scrunches up after his lips leave

You only come out at night"

>> You always found it weird that Daichi would go out around midnight or almost midnight, I'm talking about 10, 11 or 12PM and then come back an hour and a half later. God you hate yourself for falling into his trap when he assures you saying, "It's required for me to patrol around the area" or "you know I'm a police officer, babe" and due to your sincere love for him, you always did understand his responsibilities.

Although you can't help but notice that every time he comes back, he smells and looks.. fresh? Like he had just taken a shower and re-used his clothes.

Maybe he did take a shower with a girl he was giving an after care for. Maybe he was patrolling the area of his girl's apartment. But you can't do anything, you don't have enough evidence.

Sugawara:

"Cause I've made some real big mistakes

But you make the worst one look fine"

"You're so convincing

How do you lie without flinching?"

>> Sugawara gave you an extra key to his class just in case he locks the door and you wanted to visit him. Your relative, who goes to the school that he teaches, called you and told you how amazing his day was, you found it weird that Sugawara isn't home yet. "That's awesome, buddy! But I gotta go, alright? I'll call later on, bye-bye!"

Once you hung up, you drove as fast as you can to the school and came into his classroom without warning.

You saw a woman sitting on Suga's desk, while he has his right arm wrapped around her waist. The woman could only eye you up and down before turning to yell at Suga, "I thought you told them? Gosh Suga! We've been over this for what? A thousand time?!" The said woman jumped out of his grasp, pushed you aside and walked out while slamming the door behind her.

He scoffs at you before opening the door and chasing after the woman.

He left you, huh? Of course he did.

Asahi:

"Bleedin' me dry, like a goddamn vampire"

>> Being an apparel designer and someone who used to get nervous all the time, Asahi gets insecure about the things that he has or had created. He always yearns for your compliment and your opinion both for him and his designs.

And God did it drain you, always saying "you did a great job today, pretty boy" "look at this! One thing missing and after that, it'll be all perfect!" You acted more like his worker rather than his partner, to be honest.

Nishinoya:

"Ooh, what a mesmerizing, paralyzing, fucked-up little thrill

Can't figure out just how you do it, and God knows I never will"

>> Nishinoya takes you with him every time he goes travelling, he winks at you before saying, "It's my treat, love"

After a long day, you both headed onto a nearby hotel before resuming your adventures for tomorrow. The room was spacious, the balcony had the best view and you were busy day dreaming while Noya went into the hotel lobby to fetch you both some food and when he came back, he surprised you with your favorite meal!

You're so easy to distract that you missed the kiss mark on his temple and his neck.

Kageyama:

"The way you sold me for parts

As you sunk your teeth into me, oh

Bloodsucker, famefucker

Bleedin' me dry, like a goddamn vampire"

>> Kageyama kept your relationship very lowkey, he didn't wanna make you overwhelmed by the amount of fans and paparazzi that's on his back, but his team does know you.

When Kageyama is fast asleep, you grab his phone and tries to find one of his teammate's number and luckily, you did!

2:09 AM:

"Hi! Kageyama's girlfriend here, I got your number off of his phone. Can you please help me set up a party for him? Thank you and it's no biggie if you decline."

5:31 AM

"Hey, you have a different number? Gosh [random name] you didn't tell me sooner."

"I'm sorry you must've misunderstood, It's actually Y/n!"

"Oh, Y/n? Aren't you his one night stand? Please stop messaging me, i'm uncomfortable knowing Tobio has a girlfriend and you're trying to earn his attention. Thank you for the efforts of reaching out for me."

He kept you a secret because all they know is you were nothing but a fling to him.

Hinata:

"How's the castle built off people you pretend to care about?"

>> When Hinata got home from practice, he could tell that you were tired and he asked about your day, "Nothing much, just stressful customers always making a scene, you know?" You laugh at your words while Hinata looked into your eyes, "That's sad." He coughs "anyways my day was more stressful than yours, I–"

You spaced out while his rambling started.

Did he even put himself into your shoes?

Tsukishima:

"I used to think I was smart

But you made me look so naive"

"And every girl I ever talked to told me you were bad, bad news

You called them crazy, God, I hate the way I called them crazy too"

>> Tsukishima has you wrapped around his fingers and he knows it. He made you so dependent on him that he knows you can't even go on a day without telling him stories. Gosh he loves the way you're so easy to manipulate! you could've lent in some time for the girls to explain themselves but no, you took his words.

>> Yamaguchi likes someone from his class, but when you confessed to him, he can't help but accept it out of pity. And Yamaguchi successfully shaped you into his crush. Making you trim your hair, dress in a different aesthetic and even changing the way you talk, just for him. And gosh when you saw the way he looked at the person he liked, you noticed something similar about them.

The ones that guy you tight so you know that they are never letting you go. They want you to stay with them for as long as possible and holding you tight is the way they show it.

The ones that lay on top of your chest because it’s just so comfy. They can fall asleep within minutes of laying on your chest and they always feel the need to squeeze your ribs as tight as they can.

The ones that complain that they don’t want to but never let you go when you need to pee. They hold on as tight as they can when you say that. If that doesn’t work then they will pretend they’re sleeping so you can stay with them.

If someone told you that for the first time, you'd start seeing color at a volleyball game, you would never believe them.

You'd been going to volleyball games since you were little, your sister played for as long as you could remember.

That being said, here you were. You could finally start going to her games at Karasuno High School for free, as a first year at the school. That was pretty good motivation to go more often.

You showed up early to the event, and saw the other game that was up before hers. That game was the Karasuno boys team.

They were on the second set, having already took the first one. You couldn't lie, they were really good. You started cheering for the plays they made, getting excited and hoping that they would win.

Their libero caught your eye, of course his jersey was a different color but you could tell he loved the sport. His dedication to get the ball, and his hair was cool too.

It was their turn to serve, and he was looking around and made eye contact with you. And then everything became blindingly bright, colors popping up seemingly at random around you, and then his figure lit up too. 'he's pretty' is all you thought.

This guy is your soulmate? Even though you had a million thoughts going through your head, so did he. But you weren't on the court.

Next thing you knew, he got smacked square in the nose with the ball, and his nose started bleeding. You started laughing, with him looking up at you confused, but smiling at your laughter.

You decided to make your way down to the court, that way you could wish your sister good luck and meet the man on the court.

There was a man who tried to stop you, saying that only the athletes could be down there. "What's your name then, kid?"

"F/n l/n, sir. My sister is down here." You could tell you didn't have to mention your sister, it seemed he already knew one you said your last name.

Once you made it past there, you found the number 4 sitting down, and as soon as he heard your foot steps, he looked your way. 'his hair looks cooler in color' you thought.

"H-hi" he stuttered out. You giggled, it wasn't really that funny, but something about his struggle to find a single word amused you.

"Hey" you said with a smile. "I'm y/n, nice to meet you!" You held out your hand. It took him by surprise how casual you were about this, considering you had both just figured out that you were each other's soulmates.

"I'm Yu Nishinoya, nice to meet you?" He took your outstretched hand and shook it. Once again, you laughed a little at his hesitation.

Still slightly chuckling, you asked "How's your nose? That didn't exactly look comfortable".

He made a face, one that looked like a cross between he's about to laugh and he's about to be mad at you. You couldn't quite tell. "It's fine, I think it was worth it. I found you now, didn't I?"

Just to mix things up, you decided to say "I think I found you, actually. I was here to watch the game, you were here to play it."

His nose scrunched up, which he quickly undid and regretted. "Good point, but what do we do now?"

You stood in though for a second, coming to a small solution. "We could just talk for a bit, maybe go grab something to drink after this?"

He was once again taken by surprise at how you did this with so much ease. He just nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah. Sounds good."

You laughed, again, at him. You two exchanged numbers and then you ended off with "I have to go talk to my sister now real quick, talk to you later?" You wished you could just sit and talk forever.

He nodded quickly, "Yup, see and talk to you later y/n!"

You had quite a story to share with your sister now.
