I know fans joke abt how the warden is more competent than the inquisitor bc they did all that w/o much help but the funny thing abt amihan is she actually isn't
she was 20, angry and hated herself and the world, she ended up in the situation she was in bc she was...a petty snitch. she also hates being a grey warden and continues to hate being one through dai - she actually leaves but then decides to search for the cure
for most of the Blight, it was fuck up after fuck up. like I play it so that I have enough ppl to help me fight the archdemon, but in my personal headcanon, she pissed off a lot of potential help (whether it be Circle mages who overheard her saying she was "gonna annul this shit" out of anger, eamon's men who did NOT like her, bhelen who didn't really trust the fact that she knew nothing about politics), left a bad taste in people they came across and picked a fight with anora
which I think makes sense for a 20 year old ill-adjusted young woman who had to learn how to be more selfless. beating the archdemon was pure luck mixed with people just NOT WANTING the Blight to destroy ferelden and realizing joining the fight was the only way to stay alive
amihan does grow, but it's slow, she has to process trauma, understand she hurt people and ruined their lives and to actually experience what it's like being loved (both platonic and romantic)
I tend to not post so much abt how much amihan fucked up and almost let a Blight swallow ferelden bc I tend to feel anxious abt how ppl will receive it but I think it's important to her character and it's fun and interesting for me to play with it in this case
immy is 100% more competent than amihan, in spite of her own flaws, but I love both my messy and my scaredy cat girl all the same

I watched Medea today with Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels and basically the ending consisted of him wet, tank-top wearing, blood covered (it's his dead kids', killed by Medea), sobbing and screaming and crawling in a puddle created by water continuously falling onto the stage in a rain effect
and her towering over him, mocking how piteous he is
it was
a lot
(was reminded that I am gay)
he also at one point posed great statue style for a solid 20 seconds in front of where we were seated, RIP to the dialogue during that moment, twasnt heard by me and my friend
neither of them came to stage door for covid reasons, which, very fair (I mean, very fair to not come to stage door anyway also), but hope to one day tell them that it was amazing + that the exorcist deserved better

My preconceptions of Ace Attorney before actually playing the games
[Based on the whole franchise rather than any individual games since I don't know what happens in what game specifically]
I only remember like 3 character names but it seems like everyone has the weirdest sounding names imaginable
Before checking if The Great Ace Attorney was on the switch, I thought it was a sequel series to Ace Attorney and that Apollo Justice was the protagonist but it turns out it takes place in the late 19th century so never mind on that
There’s something heartbreaking that happens just before Christmas even though this is meme by the fandom every year. I think someone important to the main cast dies or something
Refining my new take on Apollo Justice (since I was wrong about what The Great Ace Attorney was) is that he’s actually in the first series and he’s Phoenix Wright’s nephew (either biological, adopted, or a found family situation)
The magician girl is Phoenix’s adopted daughter and she’s bffs with Apollo Justice
There’s a racist vampire. I think he’s in TGAA but either this series is an urban fantasy or there just happens to be one vampire who’s there for some unknown reason and everyone rolls with it
Phoenix went to art school but discovered that his childhood friend Miles Edgeworth (whom he hasn’t seen in years) had enrolled in law school so he also goes to law school so he can catch up with him
There’s this one guy who has a huge mental breakdown from law school and he goes through major depression but his friends try to help him through it (I’m sorry I can’t be more specific I really don’t know any of these characters names, I just recognize him from angsty fan art my friend has drawn before)
This Tumblr post does a great job summarizing how I imagine Phoenix and Miles to be like during the trials https://pauladrawsnstuff.tumblr.com/post/720025716031356928/audio-from-themornal
This is less of a preconception and more of a wish. But, like in danganronpa v3, I really hope that there’s an option to lie in court cause that’d be so funny. Let phoenix have a little perjury as a treat
There’s straight up a dude named Herlock Sholmes. I really wish he was the protagonist of one of the games but I know he's a side character more than anything
It turns out that there is a trilogy for Apollo Justice so I was super wrong about him showing up in the ace attorney trilogy (I guess I have no idea who Apollo is in this franchise)
Apollo is somehow going to be the most normal protagonist not because he's actually normal but because everyone else is so much more ridiculously eccentric and weird
Oh my God is there a sentient magical hat named Mr hat??? Out of everything I most want this to be true. I'm begging (but for real is ace attorney an urban fantasy?? I thought this was about a normal ass lawyer??)
Omg one of the characters does the ghost trick death pose and I can't wait to learn these characters names cause I super don't know
There's some sort of martial artist who's part of the cast and I think hes quick to square up with people, like he has a super short temper except around his friends
Ace Attorney games 5 and 6 are straight up bad it turns out (I'm hoping these aren't part of the Apollo justice trilogy cause he looks like such a neat guy and he deserves everything good in the world)
Phoenix canonically calls Edgeworth "daddy" (this isn't a preconception, my friend straight up told me and this convinced me even more to play the games)
I know ace attorney predates ghost trick and danganronpa but I bet there's gonna be some of the most complex murder schemes known to mankind that'll be uncovered in the trials like the two games I mentioned (I have heard danganronpa described as ace attorney meets battle royale so I'm super stoked about the mystery investigation sections of aa)
I don't know how much later the Apollo justice trilogy takes place from the aa trilogy but phoenix is gonna pretend that he's not really phoenix and there's gonna be some big plot twist where reveals himself and he tells Apollo how proud he is of him to solve a near impossible case

Why do you think Blazblue made Celica both the Sister who raised the siblings, AND some weird time travel love interest for Ragna? Did they just shoehorn Ragna into phase shift and that dynamic just got so popular they shoved it into Chronophantasma? Did they think Ragna’s development needed to be with his family but they have their own plots so they make Celica into the Sister, but NEVER have the characters piece it together ON SCREEN in a way that changes their dynamic?
i kept meaning to answer this and forgetting bc my brain has been soup for the past like WEEK but oh my god its so weird. its very blatantly both trying to give him relevance in a side material and also tie the side material into the main story better and make it plot relevant in chronophantasma all at the same time and it just falls flat horribly and comes off severely contrived. that entire scene in cp would be so extremely improved if rather than sending ragna back in time via the cauldron he just like. idk the boundary can do a lot of shit we dont even know about. it'd be a hell of a lot better if bloodedge was a completely separate guy so that negates the weirdness of celica's attraction to him then vs now and solves the like... what. 5 separate goddamn paradoxes the existence of bloodedge as a character separate from ragna causes? the LEAST of which is where his jacket and sword come from. blazblue loves its recursive paradoxical time loops so much.
making celica the sister is such a weird can of worms that honestly would be fine IF they didnt make her also have a crush on him in her chronophantasma body. thats the fuckin odd part. sure she doesnt have the memories of the now-dead nun that raised ragna and his siblings BUT it still feels weird because don't he AND jin during the whole takemikazuchi disaster at the climax of chronophantasma look at her and recognize that it's the sister and then just like.. its left at that. ragna never acted particularly romantically toward her in the first place thank god but her lack of awareness of the situation is the weirdest part. hes his usual trying-to-be-aloof-on-purpose self about it and when kokonoe blackmails him into celica tagging along with him its literally just. "you cant fight dumbass stay behind me" thats it. yeah she doesnt know and all and remembers him-as-bloodedge from her time that she had a crush on but like. she doesnt.. have to be unaware. its a really weird plot contrivance that doesnt sit right to just have another love interest that comes off really weirdly not only for the story but for the fuckin guy writing it
