so like. if anyone else, like me, still has the occasional fanfic they follow on fanfiction.net, and hasn't been getting the update emails for the longest time and was wondering if ti meant the site is on its last legs

no they've done something stupid as fuck

you have to opt back in to getting the emails/notifications of new chapters every six months, because they automatically assume you don't want to know when the fics you followed for the updates have updated

#for fucks saaaaaaake #now i have to go back thorugh all the fics i follow to see if they've updated in the last like year #ffn why are you doing this #this is the shit that drives ppl to ao3 #and for the record i don't like ao3 purely because somehow ffn still has the better accessible reading options on its base site #without requiring you to log in and find [or code your own] site skin. it's just on the base site.#dark/light mode and increasing text size on a fanfic archive should not be a logged-in members-only coding-required thing

People are dumb if they think Annabeth was miscast. The whole reason Rick wrote her as blonde in the books is because blondes aren't taken as seriously nor perceived as intelligent. Guess what else parallels that??????

every time i see a cute picrew that my friends have been doing or a mutual posts on the dash i have to play the really really fun game of "does this cute picrew hate brown people?"

#leo composes #i don't think anything has made me more Aware of colourism and my own skintone than picrews and i say that genuinely #< really niche set of experiences. but #(went to schools that were primarily asian it was like 40% east asian 40% south asian so i just sort of. Fit in)#(ish. obviously i was still a weird unique outlier but you know)#and then . doing picrews its like oh WOW they jsut dont think brown people EXIST #sometimes there r like two skin tones that are near mine but one is too dark and one is too light and its like . Well #sometimes there's one option and its both too light and ashy as hell #im not even the darkest in my family which makes me. Deeply concerned about the state of . something for sure

Idea for Mii Maker: the ability to customize the outline color for facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc)

On some darker skin tones, especially with the unnatural skin tones available in Miitopia, it can be hard to see the Mii’s expression. Many games will change the outline colors for objects that are very dark so the outlines can be seen easier. Mii Maker could benefit from this!

Being able to customize outlines could have other uses than just making facial features more visible, they could also be changed just because it looks cool. Brightly colored eye and mouth outlines could resemble makeup, or make the contrast better on characters with more pastel skin colors. Sometimes solid black outlines don’t fit well with certain colors, they stand out a lot, especially with thicker outlines. Colored outlines can make things look better!

This would lead to even more possibilities for characters to make in Mii Maker!

#It’d be a great accessibility feature too #the poor contrast with solid black outlines on a very dark color make it hard to see #I have some vision issues and in the original Mii Maker it was very hard to see the facial features on Miis with the darkest skin tone #It seems to be a bit better in the Switch version of Mii Maker #I think the color is a bit different in Switch Mii Maker since I can see the facial features better #Mii Maker #Miitopia #Miitopia has such good customiization (that misspelling was intentional)#but custom outline color would be awesome!#make the changes optional thouh rather than automatically changing it when you select a dark color #since some people might want the outlines to not be visible with certain characters
