The Plan: Intuitive Eating and Gentle Nutrition

As a neurodivergent plus size woman, I like plans.. particularly rainbow color coded plans. 👀

With a past of disordered eating (both binging and restricting) it's time to make a change, and it's time to make a change this is different from allllll the other "make a change" moments over the past 26 years.

I began the No Food Rules course by Colleen Christensen a few months ago, and then work got crazy and my partner got sick and I needed to take some time to just buckle down and stay stable. Even still, I have made some big changes. I haven't weighed myself since I began. I have been following my hunger cues much more successfully. I have no idea if I have gained or lost weight and that number has nothing to do with whether I feel successful or not!

So, the plan is to.. well.. actually follow the plan. Colleen recommends dedicating one hour a week to working through the videos and workbook prompts. I plan to do this on Thursday mornings, as well as taking some time daily to reflect here on my ups and downs.

And so it begins.

I fully recognise that this is, in some respects, trivialising the narrative, but it’s extremely funny to me to fuck around with the symbolism of Hades and Persephone by coming up with goofy alternatives for exactly what taboo she violated that obliges her to spend half the year in the Underworld. Like, a story where Persephone is bound to the Underworld because Hades tricked her into into eating six pomegranate seeds is a very different proposition from a story where Persephone is bound to the Underworld because she raided Hades’ minifridge for a six-pack of Monster Energy.

Nightbringer didn’t change why Lilith was punished in Lesson 12.

I keep seeing people misunderstand Lucifer’s explanation on Lilith. So I wanted to clarify some misconceptions I see being spread around.

In Obey Me Shall We Date we learn Lilith was punished for giving forbidden food from the Celestial Realm to save her sick human lover.

It’s also important to note that angels are prohibited from interfering in the lives of humans.

In Obey Me Nightbringer Lucifer explains,

“I told her she could never visit the human world again. I tried to convince her, but she wouldn’t listen to me. She said that someday the same thing would happen to me. I’d meet someone I loved so deeply that I’d be willing to throw away everything for them. And then I’d finally understand how she felt.”

This means Lilith has already used the forbidden food from the Celestial Realm to save the human she loved. Lilith knew she’d be punished for it but loved this human so much she was willing to throw away everything for him.

Lilith’s conversation with Lucifer, her interfering with the lives of humans, using forbidden Celestial Realm food and her views on humans angered Father.

Especially since they went directly against all that Angels and the Celestial Realm stood for.

Belphegor words it best,

“ . . . You see, Lilith loved humans. She loved humanity as a whole. She used to talk to me about them and how we underestimated them. You know angels and demons are always trying to protect humans, or guide them or whatever? Well, she said that was insulting to humans.”

All of this lead to the decision that Lilith would be given the Celestial Realm’s gravest form of punishment.

This punishment does match the description of the punishment mentioned in Obey Me Shall We Date.

Wiped from existence so that nothing was left. Meaning her existence in the Celestial Realm, Human World and Devildom. She’d lose her wings, be cast down into darkness and unable to be reborn. Forced to wander through the darkness for all eternity.

Lilith was already going to be punished for breaking the rules. The severity of the punishment though was because of Lilith’s love for humans.

This decision was something Lucifer couldn’t understand. Yes Lilith broke the rules but she did it out of love. A love so deep it paired with the brothers.

He believed love was something beautiful. Was the love Lilith felt really so wrong? This ended up leading Lucifer to questioning his Father.

#While Lucifer describes Lilith using the forbidden food as a mistake. I don’t believe he’s saying saving the human was a mistake. #Just that in the Celestial Realm the mistake she made was breaking the rules out of desperation to save the one she loves. #Is Obey Me’s writing perfect? No but I want people to understand they’re not rewriting history.
