This is definitely a trend for the hateful, christofascist, religious reich. Hobby Lobby did the same thing at previous Super Bowls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s right wing, Islamophobic, homophobic, anti-abortion Christian nationalism, masquerading as “caring” religion.

The Servant Foundation: the power behind the ads
The $20 million "He Gets Us" campaign about Jesus - is funded by an influential donor to some of the most active and litigious Shadow Network groups working to undermine church-state separation.
The Servant Foundation
The Servant Foundation, also known as The Signatry, is behind the “He Gets Us” ad campaign that debuted during the 2023 Super Bowl. Over the next three years, the Servant Foundation plans to spend “about a billion dollars” toward this public relations campaign. They’ve hired a PR firm to address, in the firm’s words, the problem of “How did the world’s greatest love story in Jesus become known as a hate group?”
Of course, they’re the cause of their own problem – not only has the Servant Foundation funded hate groups, but the PR firm, Haven, has represented these organizations. Key Shadow Network members Focus on the Family and Alliance Defending Freedom are in their portfolio. ADF is a noted anti-LGBTQ hate group that has argued repeatedly in courts that religion, and specifically Christianity, is a license to discriminate; they have one such case pending before the Supreme Court right now.
The money trail
The Servant Foundation is one of ADF’s biggest financial backers. A recent exposé reports that, “between 2018-20, the Servant Foundation donated more than $50 million to the Alliance Defending Freedom and that those contributions “were among the five largest donations given out by the foundation in each of those three years.”
Other recipients of the Servant Foundation’s billion dollars in assets include:
Nearly $8 million went to Answers in Genesis, creationist Ken Ham’s fundamentalist ministry behind the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, an organization that has been championed by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, a former ADF attorney.
Over $1 million was designated for the anti-LGBTQ Campus Crusade for Christ (rebranded as “Cru” since 2011).
$374,800 went to Al Hayat Ministries, an organization that seeks to “respectfully yet fearlessly unveil the deception of Islam,” and runs an Arabic-language Christian satellite TV station with the goal of converting Muslims to Christianity.
In 2020 alone, we found donations to prominent Shadow Network members American Center for Law and Justice, First Liberty Institute, and Liberty Counsel.

Lol I really hate coming out as an atheist to Christians because dude it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to fathom that I could be happy and not fucking religious like FUCK OFF CHRISTIANS! I'm starting to get to the point where I legit don't even want Christian friends because in the back or my mind I know that they wish they could "save me." I'm sick and tired of "trying not to offend" them and I'm DONE. Look up the history of Christianity and how much culture it has ERASED, and tell me I should be one. I can't believe people are still Christian when that religion is DUSGUSTING. And if this confuses you, then EDUCATE YOURSELF. Because I'm done talking to them about literally anything.
For context, I grew up as a Christian and am a part of a missionary family. And it SUCKS. You can't truly love and respect people when you literally believe that your way is the only right way. And if you partake in a shit religion that has done SO MUCH HARM. FUCK OFF.

Sometimes I wonder why most Christians preach about love and kindness without actually practicing it themselves, then I remember their God killed the first born children of the Egyptians because the pharoah didn't want to let his people go.

The Christian response to the uptick in people discussing their religious trauma or otherwise negative experiences with Christianity being mockery, derision and outright gaslighting and downplaying people's experiences should tell you everything you need to know about Christians (even 'progressive' ones).

It's so fun when my existence and my praise of trans women brings religious bigots out of the woodwork to threaten me.
How Christlike of them.

Every straight Christian man ever: "If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out blame her clothing choices."
Like, y'all really out here sexualizing bra straps and the smallest slivers of skin, but she's the problem?

This is definitely deviating from my usual content so just bare with me for a sec 😭
The people trying to cancel TV Girl over the satan worship joke need to get off the internet and touch grass. Honestly they probably haven't even listened to TV Girl in the first place. Some of their lyrics are pretty filthy; certainly not something these supposed bible thumpers should be enjoying. If they do actually actively listen to the band, it's pretty hypocritical that this is the thing they're freaking out about.
Seriously, either learn to take a joke or just stop listening. Stop telling people, especially us non-religious fans, what to do. It's okay if YOU don't feel comfortable listening to them anymore, but don't shove it down our throats. Cancel culture is dead; let's keep it that way.

I cropped out the author of this commentary on the childrens book,The Little Red Hen ☝️ I am an admitted crazy chicken lady so I love this classic children's story, but I very much do NOT like this post! 😑 I absolutely disagree with this sentiment. All people deserve to have their basic needs met-food, shelter, healthcare. The comments on this post are all in support of letting struggling people just starve-how sickening. And they wonder why ppl are turned off by christianity😒

You people aren't interesting. You're not smart. God damn it can you learn new shit??? No??? You just read the same fucking shit every day you little fuckin freaks?? IT IS A CULT.
I'm so done trying not to offend them. Like I literally REFUSE to engage with people who just love hurting others. 🙃

So last week a man walked into the kingdom hall covered in blood, obviously disoriented and injured. And the brothers (I hate myself for saying that) on foyer duty simply told him that the police station was next door. They didn't do anything to help, they didn't get a first aid kit, they didn't even ask if he was OK.
And now I'm finding out that the May broadcast had a section on the good samaritan, and I'm even more disgusted by the guys actions.
Like, if you're gonna love-bomb people, at least do it to the fucking guy bleeding out in the entrance of the kingdom hall, holy shit.

There's an amazing post by GandalfsBigNaturals that tumblr doesnt let me reblog for some reason so i'm just gonna quote it:
"
i think one of the most insidious beliefs of christianity is the christian afterlife, because it is ultimately just an excuse to not make any attempt to improve the world around you. people dying everywhere? eh, doesnt matter, theyre in a better place now (unless they were a dirty sinner in which case theyre in a worse place but they deserve it so its ok). people suffering from horrible conditions? doesnt matter, cuz when they die theyll go to the good place and be fine! (unless they were a sinner then they deserve to burn in hell forever)
"
