Thoughts on the newly announced DC film/tv slate

Wanted to outline some of my thoughts on the recently announced DC slate. overall I'm pretty optimistic, and for the servearl properties where i dont know much about, there are just as many that i am super exited for. I just wanted to address some things I think we could see or concerns I've seen some people have

Creature Commandos - I don't really know much about this team, other than reading an issue or two with Frankenstein's Monster. Looking at their roster this def has a Suicide Squad or Doom Patrol feel to it so I could see this being good. Also, the fact that it might be taking place in the past (the team was initially formed in WWII) means that it think it could lean hard into the DC universe being alternate history, which could lead to us getting 50s future retro Metropolis and zeppelins over Gotham.

Waller - I think this is the one I'm least excited about. I've liked Viola Davis's Waller, it is being show-run by one of the writers for the Doom Patrol series, and I feel like this might need up being Peacemaker S1.5. So I'm not pessimistic, but I'm just way more interested in the other stuff

Superman: Legacy - I am really looking forward to this. "He is the embodiment of truth justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks that kindness as old-fashioned.” That and the info that a focus is going to be him balancing his Kryptonian and Human heritage is all I wanted in a Superman movie

Lanterns - Not as big a Lantern fan, but I've always loved John Stewart from the DCAU. A buddy cop show with him and Hal Jordan seems like a great way to balance the older comic fans of Hal with the younger ones who grew up with John.

The Authority - I've read the occasional issue with Midnighter and Apollo, but again this is another group I don't know much about. If they are allowed to go full out with the idea, I could see a proactive "fuck the system" superhero team being very popular.

Paradise Lost - I've seen some people nervous about the "Game of Thrones" comparison but I'm wondering if this means we will see politicking and conflict between Paradise Island and the other Amazon cities like the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall. This means we might get Artemis or Nubia

The Brave and the Bold - I've seen some people upset by this, the idea being that Damian is going to be the first Robin, but I highly doubt that is the case. From the way they word "introduction to the Batfamily", if I had to guess the movie will likely have Nightwing!Dick and Oracle!Babs, Jason will be referenced (and believed dead), and Tim might be in it or might be just referenced. Doing it this way could be a good way of deferantiating this Batman from Patterson's and not having us have to wait 10 years for the full Batfamily

Booster Gold -I love Booster theres not much else to say, i look forward for everyone else beign exposed to this dumbass

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - So ive seen alot of people nervous or unsure about this, not liking how it seems to be that we are going to get a dark and edgy Supergirl. I understand thoes conercerns and i get why the description is using that to describe the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, but don't worry. I'm not Tom King's biggest fan, but this comic is Supergirl's best story in at least 20 years, arguably ever, and one of my favorite recent miniseries

The Supergirl of this story is someone who, unlike Clark lived on Krypton and saw it destroyed. Who was then cast out into space in a city full of Kryptonians who slowly died of radiation poisoning or cold. This has left her a bit more jaded and melancholy, but she's not cold or an asshole. She fights to defend those so that they wouldn't experience the trauma she did. Considering we are getting a more hopeful Superman, this would be a great way to compare the two, and avoid Supergirl falling into the trap of just being "young teen girl Superman" that she sometimes does.

The story is basically half western, half chivalric romance (romance in the original meaning of the word. It is narrated by Ruthye, a young alien girl whose father is murdered by a mercenary. Going to a local bar she begs the patrons there, only for a (very drunk) Supergirl is the only one to listen. What follows is an adventure across planets after the mercenary, with the two getting caught up in various other adventures, and Ruthye (and Kara for that matter discovering just what type of hero Supergirl is.

Swamp Thing - I am so glad Swamp Thing is getting a second shot after the cancelation of its great show. If anyone from the original cast gets brought back I hope it's the delightful Derek Mears

Y'all want some more stories from the army?

Too damn bad if you dont

A kid who just arrived at our unit went AWOL with his wife, drove to my home county which he wasnt from (small city in tennessee) and then attempted a murder suicide.

Had a ssgt who was barred from promotions for putting a kid in the hospital via smoking him, and then was kicked out of my unit for sleeping with lower enlisted chicks. He was also in a short series on hulu, which I forgot the name of.

Another new guy from my unit, carved "forgive and forget" into a prostitutes chest.

A sgt in my barracks was caught with a methlab in his room

During the second shooting at ft hood, I was locked down at divison HQ. My squad leader called me and told me to return to the company for an outside formation. During a shooting.

In the barracks building that I spent the most time in, people were able to break into each others room by crawling through the ducts that connected the bathrooms.

During my time in Germany, we had a bounty on someone we came to know as "the poop gazer"

i really would not be surprised if they decided to clear house on their entire established EU, considering they're going in a new direction with supes(ew), the ENTIRE fucking debacle with the flash and ezra miller, i think momoa said he didnt want to come back??? or at the very least with the huge negative publicity of that trial they'd almost certainly recast the lady from aquaman. like they are HEMORAGGING actors and established universes. i dont think black adam had a great reception. people liked the harley quinn stuff and suicide squad remake, but not enough to drag the rest of the franchise with it. there's ANOTHER new batman and he doesnt have anything to do with the established DCEU(as much as i would kill to have a slightly bubblier hc!supes interacting with sad-wet-cat!batman)

i would be entirely unsurprised if they dropped everyone and pivoted straight into a whole new reboot once again.

i would be unhappy. but i would be unsurprised.

It's refreshing to read your impressions about that GK clip. I value your takes, I'm so done with DickBabs being pushed everywhere that maybe I'm paranoid at this point and just think "ok here we go again". I'm lacking some perspective hehe.

Your last point got me thinking that maybe Rocksteady is the safe option to give us new fresh material regarding Nightwing. The Arkham franchise is a big name. It inspired Insomniac's Spider Man and basically cemented the bases for modern SuperHero games. The constant comparison and backlash against GK is also proof of the important place the franchise has. I suppose whatever Rocksteady make will be profitable enough, at least to not get too much intervention from WB's executives.

If Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League turns out to be good, I can totally see some greedy executive there encouraging Rocksteady to make a direct AK sequel. I know they said in the past they didn't want to go back to the Arkham games but you never know.

If that happens one day, I hope they stand their ground, defend their creative choices and expand on them. It would be easy to retcon TimBabs from their universe and push DickBabs just to please the noisy fans. But it would be awesome if they just find the right writer and expand on how Tim and Babs became a couple and how they work together, and to create a new story for all this characters. A new story for Dick and also Jason. Under the Red Hood didn't happen in that universe but who cares. It means a new ground to build new stories. As you said, the problems here and there can be fixed, and they nailed the characterizations for the most part. So many posibilities!

You and me both! Just need to move on already and stop pushing it everywhere.

Perhaps Rocksteady is! My problem is that what mythos is there for them to adapt? A Nightwing solo project would be awesome, but i think i dont think itd be feasible at the time. I think DC/WB was dumb to drop Rocksteady games. I actually think the batman beyond theme'd game could have done really well!

A good idea would be to reboot the Arkham Games or continue it as a tie in to another game like they are with Suicide Squad.

Yeah i think Gotham Knights is a direct reaction to the Batfam push. those fans are really loud. It bothers me though because the Arkham Games were already successful and had a big following, an even bigger one than Batfam. But they chose Gotham Knights? I get it with suicide squad, but like we could have had Suicide Squad and a Batman Beyond type game. I think DC just does this to themselves. They clearly are listening to the wrong people.

i jus woke up from a whole ass nightmare it was badddd omg i almost wanted to cry it was abt someone breaking into my house and also breaking into my window and also i got almost arrested and also people were chasing me and someone had a seizure and there was also some exorcism going on as well and then i like killed this person by drowning them inside of a small mason jar of expired chicken noodle soup idk now that makes sense but its a dream so jdhfhdjd and then people outside kept blasting music and then the cops came for them and then fast forward to wen wen the mother of the person i killed called mom to talk to meet up and then my mom was giving misinformation to the mother abt her and i lik saying and i quote how she said it in the dream "we are from TEXAS" [ im lik wtf spongebob ] but then we had to put a disguise on so she put on the plague doctor costume and then i remember also in the dream to in order to get out the window bc ppl were chasing me i had to commit a sin which i then said "oh thats easy" and fast forward wen i woke up i then went back to sleep and had ANOTHER nightmare which i was in a mall and ppl including my toxic cousin tried to find and look for me but lik also my friends were there so ppl were following them as well and it was soooo fukkin scary bc in real life i have a major paranoia issue abt either people trying to kill me or me thinking people are plotting against me and it was a lucid dream so it felt so fucking real and also the ppl looking for me were trying to convice me to do something and in order for me to disguise myself i had to put a blanket over my head and twirl lik wtf and i minecraft villager that bounces and twirls on top of a bed but anyways i remember they finded out my disguise and it didnt work so they kept coming after me and i remember these twisty stairts that goes up and thats all i remember from that dream now what i do remember i from the first dream i had i also remember that i was fucking this guy in the bushes i think that was after the part where i was trying to do sins to get out the window but i was already out the window so idek its drean so eh but i also remember that as soon as i fucked this guy in the bushes i got caught by the people trying to find me and then they started to chase me and then there was this big crowd of people that looked like my friends but wasnt and there was also joe biden for some butt fuck reason and then there was cops or guards or some ppl and then they captured me OH WAIT BEFORE THEY CHASED AND CAPTURNED ME I WENT UP TO THE YOUTUBER BENOFTHWEEK LMAOKOA and i told him that i was broke and i needed help bc someone was chasing me and then he saw the ppl that was originally chasing me coming closer and THEEEN thats wen all of a sudden joe biden and ppl that looked lik my friends but wasnt lik robots and then they made me and my other ppl stand next to eachother in a line and then joe biden was doing a speech and he stumbled on his words it was pretty funny bc jschlatt but anyways out of fucking nowhere mike ehrmantraut from breaking fucking bad was one of the guards and he helped me get pass the guards to disguise myself as one of them and then i also ended up killing this one guard by doing that harley quinn suicide squad shit where i got on his shoulders and did some shit i forgot what that shit was but i did some shit and then killed a man but them after that my friends that were robots disappeared aside from some to which i asked "what is something only you wld know abt me" and this one guy pulled out a drawing i made him and said "i was going to give this back to you yesterday bc i cant keep this bc my sister was getting to it" which idk howwww tf that makes sense its lik "oh hey i have a dog so can you put this food on the top of there so they dont get to it" but then the dream started to end and i woke up and sirens were outside LMAOOO

Drunk and Dreamin' (Rick Flag)

Pairing: Rick Flag x F!Reader

Request: can i get a rick x reader pregnancy fic 🥺 bonus points if the reader is still a member of the suicide squad 👀👀

Note: I mixed it with a drunk Rick prompt I saw last night, I thought itd be cute to mix them together. Hopefully you like it and you're satisfied with the request.

Warnings: alcohol use, cursing, mentions of pregnancy, mostly just fluff, rick being cute af

WC: 3.4k I dont know what it's like to write short fics

A/N: soooo heres more rick because like we love this man, I love this man and yeah, hes on my mind 24/7. Like I said I mixed the pregnancy request with a drunk Rick thing I saw. @dreamingindigital posted it first, so if they see this hey, thank you for letting me do it hope you like my adaptation of what you said. And as for the rest of yall, hope you like it too

It was a weird feeling, being alive. Making it out of a mission and coming home for another day, sleep in your own bed one more night and fall asleep in the arms of the man you loved one more time. You never knew if you were coming back from a suicide mission, or if Rick was. Hell, maybe you'd both bite the dust then. You didn't know. But you knew that every day you were alive, away from bullets and blood, and with the man you loved, that you wouldn't take for granted.

So when you both and Rick made it alive out of that damn island, he insisted on going out for drinks when you got back to America. Go crazy, live like it was your last day, and God knows if it would be. You weren't exactly on board with the idea, since well, you found right after getting to America that you were pregnant, and of course it was Rick's. Other than that, you perfectly knew he almost got killed in that island, he got stabbed with that piece of ceramic and it damn near killed him, you wanted him to rest. And you, well, you got beat up, as did everyone else, but thanks to some higher power or maybe just luck, you didn't get hurt too badly, you didn't get stabbed, gunned down, crushed, or face-hugged xenomorph style by a starfish so, that was a win for you. Still, you'd rather just go home and shower, wash off the blood and death off your body. And just rest so maybe you could tell Rick the news. But Rick was persistent, you didn't know what it was, he wasn't the drinking 'till I pass out type, but maybe almost dying made him want to live more, outside of the walls of Belle Reeve or some top secret location where he'd possibly die.

"We're alive, sweetheart, let's enjoy it." He told you.

The man almost got killed, you could at least give him that. If he wanted to get drunk you'd let him, he deserved it. You could always tell him tomorrow, you knew you wouldn't die tonight at least.

So as reluctant as you were, you joined him in his quest to get drunk, you guessed. Well, it was mostly in spirit and moral support, because you weren't drinking. You did join him on the floor once he got drunk enough to want to dance with you, arms around each other, bodies pressed together and holding each other even if the song didn't match the slow and close vibe you were going for. You didn't care, you needed to hold each other and you'd be damned if you let go of that man.

It was fun, you weren't going to lie, for once you felt like a normal couple, out, drinking, dancing, laughing like you didn't have a single worry in your mind, not the task force, not where will you be next, not the killing, not Waller, nothing. It was just you and Rick, together, only thinking about each other. Even if it was just for a minute. But maybe now it could be like that, but not just for a minute.

You were honestly surprised how quickly Rick got drunk. I mean, he was drinking by himself despite his insistence on you joining him, he was confused at first by how adamant you were about not drinking, but he surprisingly didn't question you anymore after the first round of shots. So he downed all the shots and beer in a matter of a few hours. And you would think he was a bad drunk, loud and messy, but it was quite the opposite. He was a very touchy and affectionate drunk.

You nearly jumped, ready to swing a punch when you felt a strong pair of arms wrap around your waist from behind, and you were met with a hard chest. It took you a second to realize it was just Rick, and you relaxed, happily leaning into his chest. You felt him leave a lazy wet kiss to the side of your head before he leaned into your shoulder, pressing the side of his face into your neck. He was warm, hot and a bit sweaty, his own body heat was making you hot, but you didn't mind. And you smiled, reaching behind you to run your fingers through his hair.

"Did I ever tell you you smell really fuckin' good?" He hummed, slightly slurring his words and making his accent slightly thicker.

You giggled, taking in his own scent. It was a mix of faint sweat from the hot atmosphere of the bar, the smell of liquor still on his tongue and the faint smell of his aftershave still lingering on his freshly shaven jaw. It was an interesting mixture really, honestly one would think it's not necessarily the most enjoyable of smells, but you liked it. It was comforting really. It smelled like home, because he was your home.

"Oh yeah?" You chuckled, "you like the smell of sweat and death?" You retorted, running your fingers through the short dark blondish strands.

"Nah," he hummed when he felt your fingers and shook his head, rubbing his face further into your neck. "You kinda smell like, like vanilla. Yeah, you smell like vanilla, and cinnamon and— and you smell like all the pretty things in the world." He mumbled, a tired sigh leaving his lips as he nodded, as if to confirm what he was saying.

"Oh," you couldn't help but laugh, a loving smile he couldn't quite see plastered on your lips, "that so?"

"Mhm…" He hummed, nuzzling further into your neck and his big arms nearly squeezing you into a bear hug, "you smell like you're pretty. 'Cause you are pretty. So so pretty…" his voice got softer and quieter, going almost inaudible by the end as he trailed off, exhaling deeply and he was suddenly leaning into you, putting half of his weight on you, making you blow out a sharp breath.

"Rick, baby." You tapped the back of his head, instantly feeling him slightly lift it, "you okay pretty boy?"

"Mhm.." He exhaled tiredly, "just resting my eyes for a second, sweetheart." He mumbled before going right back to the place in your neck. You chuckled fondly, knowing he was probably falling asleep, exactly like that, standing and all.

"Okay, come on, I'm taking you home, okay?" You turned around, hearing him groan quietly and when you looked up at him you almost wanted to awe out loud. His eyes were half closed and hooded, barely looking at you and his pale cheeks were flushed bright red, it was kinda adorable honestly.

"A pretty girl's takin' me home? Aren't I lucky." You couldn't hold in your laughter this time. When you laughed, he narrowed his eyes at you and slightly tilted his head in confusion.

"Yeah, absolutely," you giggled, brushing your hand over his cheek and leaned up to press a chaste kiss to his lips, "alright, come on big guy."

You slung an arm around his torso, and he instantly slung an arm over your shoulder, practically leaning into you like you were a pole or something.

"Goddamn." You sucked a sharp breath when you felt his weight on you, barely being able to hold him upright, because he couldn't even do that himself. This was going to be a long walk to your car. You took a deep breath and used all the strength you could gather to lead him through the small groups of people still gathered around the bar.

Damn, this man was big and heavy. And he was putting most of his weight on you. He was also leaning into you as you walked, making you stumble to the side too.

"Oh my God Rick," you groaned softly when he slouched over you, both arms hanging limp over your shoulders, head hanging as he practically leaned his entire body into you. You had to plant your feet on the ground so you wouldn't fall with him, "Rick you're 6'2 and like 200 plus pounds, and you're putting all of that on me. Come on." You groaned, trying with all the strength you could gather to get him to stand upright.

Rick eventually lifted his head up, eyes wide for a second as he looked around for any form of threat, but then his eyes fell on your significantly smaller form trying to carry all of him. It took him a minute to stand by himself, mumbling what you assumed was a 'sorry baby' but honestly, you could barely understand him at this point.

Still, you managed to get him into your car, shoving him in the passenger's seat, where he instantly crossed his arms over his chest and slouched. You figured he probably fell asleep like that because you didn't hear a single word from him the whole ride. All you could hear was the quiet sound of the radio playing and his faint snores, confirming that he was in fact asleep. You let him, I mean when was the last time this man actually got proper sleep? Without having to sleep with an eye open? Yeah, he'd be pretty damn tired.

As much as it made you feel bad waking him up, you had to, you weren't going to let him sleep in the car. So once you parked your car, you got out and walked all around over to his side, where you opened his door for him and cautiously placed a hand on his shoulder, shaking him ever so slightly so you wouldn't startle him and potentially catch a flying fist. When you did, his eyes immediately shot wide open and his whole body got tense as he looked for whatever startled him awake. Much like you earlier, he visibly relaxed when his eyes landed on you.

"Come on pretty boy, let's get you to bed." You smiled, pressing a kiss to his forehead before helping him out of the car. He instantly slouched against the car, using it to keep himself upright. You sighed. This was going to be difficult. "I know you wanna sleep but I need your help to get you inside, okay? Please don't fall on me."

You grabbed him again, this time having to wrap both arms around his torso to even get him off the car. Rick made somewhat of an effort to get himself going, this time he threw both of his arms over your shoulders and leaned his head on yours, mumbling how pretty you were, how badass he thought you were and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. It was cute really, if it hadn't been for the fact that he was so damn drunk he probably wouldn't even have said all of those things. He'd probably deny he ever said something that cliche and sappy, too.

Eventually you got the 6 foot something giant up to your shared place. You had no idea how, but hey, you managed to get the soldier through the door, up those stairs and into the safety of your home. The next step was getting to your bedroom, which may sound easy, but Rick was bumping into shit everywhere. He even started cursing at whatever inanimate object would get in his way. It was fucking hilarious, you had to force yourself not to burst out laughing in front of this very pouty and drunk Rick.

You got him to your room, eventually, and the second he did he threw himself right on the bed, face first. And fully clothed.

This fucking man.

You squeezed your eyes shut, rubbing your template and exhaled deeply, reminding yourself that he was just a big teddy bear when drunk, and you had to do everything for him.

"Rick, baby, at least let me take your shoes off." You sighed softly, walking over to the bed and ran your fingers through his hair, trying to get him to stay awake long enough. He didn't respond verbally, he simply huffed sleepily and rolled over onto his back.

You blew out a breath and shook your head, going around to the foot of your bed, one by one ridding Rick of most of his pieces of clothing. You got his shoes off, the shirt was a bit trickier, but with a bit of moving around you got it off. You gave up on taking his jeans off, he was like deadweight, and wouldn't move. So you left him like that. He was probably more than asleep by then. He was still on his back, a muscular tattooed arm tucked under his head, eyes closed, lips slightly parted as he quietly snored, or so you figured. So you thought he wasn't listening when you spoke.

"Swear to god Rick, I gotta take care of a baby soon, I can't keep taking care of you like you are one, too" You thought out loud, as you started to strip yourself of your own clothes. So you completely missed the way Rick's eyes shot wide open and he sat up on his elbows so fast it gave him whiplash.

Did he actually hear that correctly?

"The hell did you say?" You heard him say with a tone you couldn't quite describe. And when you looked up, you saw him sitting there, suddenly wide awake and sober, wide eyed, mouth slightly open in shock, confusion, and maybe like, joy?

"Huh… That's not exactly how I wanted to tell you but…" You swallow thickly, sitting on the edge of the bed beside him and looking down, nervous of how exactly he'd react. You've never actually talked about settling down, getting married, kids, the whole nine yards. I mean hell, you were in a island going on a suicide mission less than two a ago, you definitely weren't thinking of something like this yet. You thought Rick didn't actually want kids, he's never told you if he did, or even showed much interest in domesticity. So how the hell were you supposed to tell him that? "So uh… I've been feeling kinda sick these past few weeks, even on that island, I just didn't tell you so you wouldn't worry. Then when you were asleep last night I went out, bought a couple of pregnancy tests and well… yeah."

Rick wasn't saying anything, he wouldn't even blink. It was scaring you. His face was so blank, stoic and unreadable. You could never know what the hell was going on inside this man's head. You couldn't read him. And on top that he was still drunk, so he probably wasn't registering things like he normally would. So he was just staring at you, eyes slightly glossy and his lips slightly parted. And then he smiled. He genuinely smiled.

"You serious? You're pregnant with my kid?" He asked in disbelief, not because he would doubt you or your loyalty, but because he couldn't wrap his head around the idea of you being pregnant. You bit your lip nervously and slowly nodded, still not sure if you wanted to see his reaction or not. "Baby don't play with me, I know I'm like, drunk but—"

"Rick, I'm dead serious. I can show you the pregnancy test if you want. We're having a baby." You smiled nervously, fiddling with your fingers as you waited for his response. You were caught completely off guard when he laughed and grabbed your face, kissing you. It was sweet and loving, even if you could still taste the liquor on his tongue. But you didn't mind, all you cared about was his reaction, and you knew exactly what he was thinking.

"I must be dreamin' 'cause I can't believe it. This can't be real, it's too good." He mumbled, brushing his nose against yours as he held your face, a lazy and crooked smile on his lips.

"Nah, you're just drunk honey." You giggled, tears of joy pricking your eyes.

"Then I must be drunk and dreamin', because that's the best thing I've heard in a very long time."

When morning came, you were already up, having been up since dawn, your body already used to waking up before the sun came up and sleeping very little hours at a time. Rick was a different story. Usually he was up even earlier than you were, most times he wouldn't sleep at all. But he was so drunk that after you both got in bed, wrapped around each other's arms, he fell dead asleep, and was only woken up by the sunlight coming through the window since it hit him right in the face. He was engulfed by the smell of freshly brewed coffee, which he figured you had prepared.

Rightfully so, right when he was starting to wake up, still under the covers and hugging pillows instead of you, you walked in with two cups of coffee. One for yourself, and another for him since you intended on waking him up then, knowing he liked to start his day early no matter where he was. When you walked in the room you were met with a breathtaking sight. Rick, now half sitting up against the pillows, tattooed arm behind his head as he yawned, his blondish hair sticking just about every direction possible. Rick Flag in the morning was both the cutest and hottest sight anyone could ever see. And it was your sight to see every morning.

Rick spotted you by the door as he rubbed the sleep off his eyes and a sleepy, lopsided smile plastered on his lips.

"Mornin' sweetheart." He hummed, voice raspy and deeper than usual from just waking up. You smiled, making your way around the room to sit on your bed.

"Morning sleepy beauty. How's the hangover?" You teased, pressing a chaste kiss to the side of his mouth. He groaned loudly, rubbing his face with both hands and shook his head.

"Oh shut up." He laughed, shaking his head before his eyes fell on the mugs on your hands, "this for me baby?" He pointed to the mug he usually used for his coffee and you nod. He happily took it from you and sipped it, humming in delight at the bitter liquid.

"Your coffee is fuckin' amazing, did I ever tell you that?"

"Yeah," you giggled, sipping your own coffee happily, "among other things." You shrugged, slightly tapping the side of the mug, knowing Rick probably didn't even remember the drunk late night conversation you had with him last night.

"In that case, did I ever tell you that I want to marry you and I want you to be the mother of my children?" He said casually, almost way too casually, like it was the most natural thing to say, a huge smile on his lips as he sipped on his coffee, he almost spat it right back out when he saw the ways your eyes widened and choked on your own coffee.

"Wha-What?"

"I mean, I believe you told me that you were pregnant with my kid? Or was I just dreamin' last night?" He raised an eyebrow at you, somewhat questioning whether or not he dreamed of it or if it actually happened.

You chewed on your bottom lip, trying once again to read the look on his face, in his eyes. It was hard to read him drunk or sober, you could never guess what Rick was thinking. But right then and there, you could see it in his eyes. He had this loving, fond and almost hopeful look in his eyes. With the sunlight shining right on his face his eyes looked lighter, like honey almost and they looked so full of life, happy. He looked happy. And then you knew.

"No, you weren't dreaming. I am pregnant and it is yours. So I guess you're gonna be, yeah, a dad." You giggled awkwardly, not being able to hold back a smile. And when you did, Rick set his might down on the bedside table and he kissed you, hard and loving.

"Baby," he sighed heavily, cupping your face with one hand and placing the other on your flat stomach, and frowned, "you're out of the task force. Like there's no fucking way I'm letting you risk yourself and our kid. I'm gonna marry you, and I can't allow either of you to get hurt or get killed. It's not worth it. I don't care what Waller says, you're out. You understand?" He frowned, eyes narrowed and gaze hard and he used his colonel voice, he was being so serious it wasn't even funny.

"Then you're not going back either," you frowned, resting your hand over his on your stomach and sighed shakily, "Peacemaker almost killed you Rick. I had to get that damn ceramic out of you, I had to drag your ass out of that building so you wouldn't die. I love you, and I can't lose you, not now. We can't leave our kid without their parents. We both need to get out of that fucking task force." You were nearly as serious as he was, and you weren't kidding, when you thought he was going to die you felt like your whole world was falling apart just because he wouldn't be in it. You couldn't go the rest of your life without him, you knew that now.

"Then we're both getting the fuck out. I don't care if I have to go back to D.C and take you with me, but we're not risking our lives anymore for this, not you, not me. I promise you, and little soldier that."

Diverse DC p.1~Speedsters

1. XS/Jenni Ognats(Black/white biracial)

Jenni is the daughter of Barry Allens daughter Dawn Allen and Jeven Ognats. She wasn’t born with any abilities , however after seeing her father in danger, her connection to the speedforce was Unlocked.

2. The Flash/Danica Williams(black)

Danica Williams is the flash of the Batman Beyond universe. Whos father was a STAR labs scientist who studied Metahuman technology. Danica grew up with dreams of becoming a trackstar, but due to having many medical conditions including asthma, she lost hope. It was also thought that Danica had mental illness due to her claiming to see and hear figures that nobody else could. Though it turns out that she was actually communicating with speedsters from multiple different realities through an initially unknown connection to the speedforce. After she was urged to save a man from being hit by a train, it was revealed that she had superspeed, and eventually mastered the ability to run on air molecules. She was also the love interest for Billy Batson/Captain Marvel

3. Kid Flash lll/Wallace West(black/white biracial)

Wallace West ll is the niece of Iris west and the son of Daniel West, the second reverse Flash. He was initially portrayed as a delinquent and a troublemaker, however after being adopted by his aunt Iris, he began to ease out of his delinquent behavior as he began to look up to the Flash(not knowing it was Barry Allen). After a future version of himself went to the past and gave Wallace powers, he gained a hard to control and unpredictable connection to the speed force. He used his new powers to become the Flash’s new crimefighting partner. After being caught in Central City’s speedforce storm, his powers became more stable.

3. The Flash/Avery Ho(Chinese American)

Avery, like many other Central City citizens was caught in the Speed Force storm, giving her a connection to the speedforce. Her new abilities were unstable, and Avery’s cells involuntary constantly vibrated themselves, with her being unable to stop them. She was visited by Barry and another speedster named Meena Dhawan(whos up next) who helped teach her how to use and control her powers. After a while, Avery was recruited into the Justice league of China. Shes also Wallce’s best friend.

4. Fasttrack/Meena Dhawan(southern asian descent)

Dr. Meena Dhawan was a scientist at STAR labs who was caught in the speed force storm, giving her all the usual speedster powers+the ability to sense or Track others with a speed force connection (hence the name Fasttrack). She dedicated herself to training the next generation of speedsters who were also caught in the speed force storm. She was a villain at one point, but thats not important.

5. Irey and Jai West(biracial, white and Korean)

Jai and Iris “Irey” West ll are the twin children of Wally West the first, and Linda Park. They both have their fathers connection to the speed force, however, while Irey has the usual superspeed, Jai’s powers are…. Weird. He can use speedforce energy to accelerate his muscle growth and give himself super strength, but has also been shown to use the speed force to shapeshift when in distress.

6.Bolt/Alinta(no last name yet),(biracial,black/white, Australian)

Bolt is a new speedster who was first introduced during the future state event. Nothing is currently known about her origin, but she has been shown to be a member of the Teen Titans and the Suicide Squad. Also,shes a disabled speedster. However, not the first(fun fact: Bart Allen/Impulse has a prosthetic kneecap). Also, im 90% sure shes black. I saw one tumblr user say she was of Australian aboriginal origin, and if I can find any confirmation I’ll change this immediately.

Edit: I saw her origin story in the comics, her parents are shown to be a black woman and a white man. So, shes biracial.

Edit: We now know more about Bolt! She was a little kid when she found her speed, and the reason she can only run in short&quick sprints or bolts, as opposed to long distance runs like others speedsters, is because she found an incomplete speedforce equation. Her parents used her for their family business(which unbeknownst to her, was traficking illegal goods), until she lost her legs an was given new ones by Amanda Waller, who is now desperate to get her on the suicide squad because she wants a speedster now lol.

7. Kid Quick/Flash/Jess Chambers (black)

Not to be confused with Jesse Chambers, Jess is another new speedster, who was also introduced during Future State. They are Nonbinary and use They/them pronouns, and come from the genderbent Earth-11, where they are the nibling (gender neutral word for nephew/niece for those who dont know)of Earth-11’s Flash(who happens to be Jesse Chambers). They are also seemingly romantically involved with Aquamans daughter Andy.

8. Godspeed/August Corazón Heart(Latino)

August Heart was Barry Allen’s partner, whos brother was murdered around the time period shortly before Barry Allen was struck by lightning and became the Flash. Hes brothers murder case was dropped, and he was distraught. After gaining superspeed by the Speedforce storm, he designed his own suit and became a ruthless vigilante, going on criminal. Barry eventually learned that August was Godspeed, a hint was that one of August’s victims was his brothers killer. Eventually, August was killed by Eobard Thwane aka Reverse Flash.

Fandom: DC Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Batmom!reader (in the background) Word count: 1.4k Summary: Your Children don’t know about a big part of your past, but when the situation calls for it, they find out, one way or anotherm Requested by a hydrated Anon: since the request are kinda open. Your children knew that you were a great fighter, one that could hold herself against Bruce easily, and they knew that you had been a vigilante long before you had met their father and fallen into the more domestic role of a part-time event-organizer and a full-time momma at day and a crime fighter at night. Sometimes they had tried to ask you and Bruce about what you had done for the most of your early adulthood, but they never found out anything about what happened between your 18th and 25th birthday. A few of them - mostly Tim, Steph and Damian - had thought about finding out the old-fashioned way, but everytime they seriously considered it they remembered that not once since you had taken them in as your children have you breached their privacy without a very, very good reason. So they quickly started to forget about it again and face their own problems. What none of your children had expected was that that blank on your resume was going to be filled on what was supposed to be an easy mission in Gotham’s Docks. You and Bruce were the ones who went, Tim on the Comms, only to find that three of the most dangerous and violent - but in themselves alone relatively small - crime families had “bonded” together to defeat the one thing that kept them from ‘rising to their true size’: Your family. The two of you were good, years of beating and defeating big baddies have shown so much, but not even the two of you were good enough to defeat the small army that was attacking you now. Under the hail of bullets that were raining down on you, a few of them hitting your body armour, but luckily not you, you barely managed to dive for cover behind a metal pillar. Looking over you were relieved to find Bruce behind cover too, seemingly not hurt. He nodded at you, most likely having the same thoughts about you, before talking to you and Tim over the Comms. “Red, we need everyone here asap, this is at least a code blue situation.” “Code blue? I thought this was just a quick in-and-out,” Tim asked surprised. “Just do it, no time to explain,” Bruce grunted as he threw a Batarang at a particularly bold individual that tried to break his cover, disarming him quickly and knocking him unconscious. “I contacted everyone, Nightwing and Red Hood are on their way, ETA is at least ten minute. Robin is preparing and will be there in five. Oracle is going to take over the Comms as soon as she’s online from her homebase and then I’ll hurry over with Black Bat. The others will try to come, but are indispensable at the moment,” Tim informed you and you could hear the almost inhumane quick tapping of his keyboard in the background. Before you had the chance to answer you noticed the small circular object rolling towards you and just almost managed to kick it away and shield yourself with your cape. “We don’t have enough time to wait for all of them!” you shouted over the sound of another explosion and when you looked over at Bruce you almost saw the internal conversation, “They’re on a mission not far from here, they could be here in five minutes.” “Who are you talking about?” Tim asked, but you and your husband just ignored him. “Do it!” Bruce said after he had to dive for a new cover when the pillar he was standing behind got damaged by another granate. Not waiting another second you pulled out a small button that was protected by a glass hood. You clicked the glass hood off and pushed the button, a little relief flooding you when you saw the blinking light below it implicate that the signal was received. Now you just had to survive long enough for your help to arrive. Tim and Cassandra, closely followed by Damian, arrived shortly after, but even with the five of you, you weren’t remotely able to do more than hold yourself against the seemingly never ending attack that got worse with every minute. When you heard the flapping of a chopper somewhere above you, you could have wept with joy, but soon got pulled back into reality when a bigger explosion rang through your ears and debris from the newly bombed open roof missed you by literal inches. After making sure neither your husband, not your children were hurt badly, you looked up to find that the chopper was not the one you had hoped for when you were looking directly into the barrel of a bomb launcher. The thought of retreating filled your mind, but before you could suggest, you saw the opposing chopper blow up in a haze of fire before a very familiar crazy laugh filled your ears - even if it was still half a mile or so away. More explosions rang through the enemy lines and the shift in power was immediately feelable. You had just won the upper hand. Five ropes were lowered around you and soon after you found yourself surrounded by your former team - or rather one version of it, the suicide squad never really being one to keep stagnate. “Did ‘ya miss us sugar?” Harley crackled as she fell around your neck, hugging you with one arm while the other was occupied with shooting an enemy that had been charging at the six of you. “You wouldn’t believe how much,” you smiled and - after quickly greeting the rest of the team - got back to fighting. Dick and Jason joined the fight shortly before the end - before your win - and were surprised by the people who were fighting in such a harmony with their mother that it looked like they had been fighting with you for years, but with the fight still going on they had little time to care about it too much. The twelve of you together had an easy time fighting against the gangs and it only took a few minutes more before you left unconscious, dead (the suicide squad had no no-killing rule after all) and tied up gang members for the police to lock up. The squad's chopper had been severely damaged during the fight so the five went with you to a second-emergency base on the outskirts of Gotham to wait for Waller to send them a pick-up, leaving you with a bit of time to catch up with your old mates. While you were laughing and talking to Harley, Rick, Floyd, Digger and Tatsu like you were old friends who haven’t seen each other in a while, Bruce standing a few feet behind you - keeping up his grim persona, but not stopping you from interacting with the (mostly) villains - your children were at the other side of the room completely dumbfounded at the way their mother was acting.

“Remember that time Waller almost blew up your head because you thought it was a good idea to play pranks in the base?” you asked laughing, the others joining you. “Yeah, well, how was I supposed to know she’d react to a bit of water like that,” Dagger shrugged, but smiled at the memory. “Can’t believe it’s been so long already since I left, it feels like yesterday I almost cut your eyes out,” you smiled - you much like Katana not having been there as a criminal, but rather as a guard yourself. “Hey, if you want back, we’d gladly take you in, I still think Waller considered planting a bomb in your head just so that you would come back and bring some order back,” Rick shrugged, but you just shook your head. “Thank you, but no thank you, I have a life here now. Also I don’t think Hubby would like that too much,” you giggled a little and blew a kiss at Bruce, who responded only with a stern nod in an interaction that your children would have usually found hilarious if they weren’t so occupied with staring. “Ya’know sugah, Ah love attention, Ah really do, but even Ah get uncomfortable if dah little batlings keep on starin’ like tha’,” Harley nudged your shoulder and nodded into the direction of your children. “Oh, don’t mind my little ones, they just didn’t know about my time at the suicide squad,” you shrugged, well aware that you were going to have a lot to explain later on.

I never expected you guys to like demon Senjuro so much lol I’m really happy to see that like it was such a random impulse thought but the au has a lot of room for growth

In this post Im gonna establish a few things about what happened to Senjuro and Kyojuro in the events between Senjuro’s “death” and the pillar meeting. I will only cover their relationship and a little bit of Senjuro’s relationship with Tanjiro. The others can come at a different post cause this post is gonna be long lol so I put it under cut cause no one really wants a post to flood their dash

TW: Mentions of death (some are children), mentions of cannibalism (If you’ve seen even the first episode of demon slayer and had no problem, you’re fine with this post. This post is slightly not anime only friendly as I make references to an upper moon and I show a manga only panel as of posting this) Shnjuro gets really depressed but luckily there is no attempted suicide

Senjuro Rengoku

- His class was at the bottom floor and they were cleaning the school (I heard thats a thing in Japan if someone has a better idea on what they’re doing feel free to shoot an ask) when they got attacked

- In canon we dont know his age but I’m gonna guess like 12-14 but in the au he is 13 so he was 12 when he became a demon. A rogue demon attacked Senjuro’s class and Senjuro ran to get help and was fatally injured but still managed run to get help as he was given a nichirin sword and even if it didnt change color he must have known breathing techniques at the very least on a basic level and the demon was too preoccupied with some of the teachers and others trying to kill the demon, of course unaware of what it was except for Senjuro

- Upper moon 4 was sneaking around when he saw the all but dead body of Senjuro and demons really dont have standards for turning people into demons so when he noticed he was alive, turned him into a demon mostly so that if he did find any “evil people” (demon slayers) he could use him as his meat shield alongside his personalities

- When Senjuro woke up as a demon (cause even if he was a breath user he was very inexperienced so Hantengu had no problem making him a demon), he had no memory of his life as a human and looked around trying to find a human to satiate his hunger and saw a human in the distance with someone and began to run to them to satiate his hunger when he felt himself being held back.

- The spirit of Ruka Rengoku gently held her son back and instructed him to not eat humans as that’s not something he should do and even if Senjuro couldn’t recognize the woman holding him back, he found himself obeying her and running to go to a place to hide from the sun

- From that moment on for a few day he would hop from place to place whether underneath homes, in caves or any place he could find to avoid being seen and to be shielded from the sun and found himself growing sleepy so in the cave he hid in, far away from the place he was last in, he closed his eyes and fell asleep for a year

- When he woke up, he had unwittingly burnt away Muzan’s control of him and was unsure on what to do when Ruka’s spirit appeared again telling him that he needs to find his way home. Senjuro wasn’t actually listening to a lot of what she said except one thing stuck to him.

- “Senjuro”, he didn’t know what his name was as a demon but the name seem to stick to him and he figured this must be his name (he would of course be correct)

- When he found himself staying with the Kamaboko squad, having been spared despite being a demon due to him not having any form of aggression to them (something they all noticed due to his general demeanor and their enhanced sense) and Tanjiro could smell he hadnt eaten one human and he invited him to join them. He joined Nezuko in her box (she can grow really really tiny if she wants or is tired)

- He joined for two reasons: One, he was really scared of people and demon slayers especially so when Tanjiro offered him the chance to be able to be safe and hide he took it. Secondly, he wasn’t sure but the smile Tanjiro gave and his warm reassurance reminded of him of someone, when he thought hard he only saw blurry shadows and got a headache so didn’t try to push it

- Tanjiro did ask him in the wisteria house while Zenitsu was chatting with Nezuko and Inosuke was off being Inosuke about his past and Senjuro told him about his brief meetings with a woman with black hair and asks if they’ve met before as he feels familiar

- This is where he gets the idea that the woman with black hair (Ruka) is his mother and Tanjiro guesses that the person that he thinks is Tanjiro must be his father (right on the first part Tanjiro but wrong on the second lol, you tried)

- He wears a cyan yukata with a new hakama pants as the clothes he was previously wearing was the same bloodstained clothes he wore after turning into a demon and Tanjiro didnt want to leave him in that. Tanjiro thought to get him a gag but the idea made Senjuro uncomfortable so Tanjiro made him swear to never eat a single human

- In Mount Nagatumo, he was too scared to jump out to protect Tanjiro like Nezuko but when she gets sliced up he leaves the box to watch her while Tanjiro fights Rui, unfortunately he is caught in Rui’s webs like Nezuko and was saved from it by Nezuko flames (though it did burn him a fair bit, Nezuko would apologize to him for this later)

- Giyuu doesn’t kill Senjuro cause his resemblance to Kyojuro despite the different clothes and demon eyes is clear to anyone who can see and Shinobu also finds herself hesitating but shakes those feelings off as Kyojuro deserves better than to see his little brother as a demon. Luckily Giyuu stops him and Senjuro runs with Nezuko and Tanjiro but is later taken back to the demon slyer corps by a Kakushi who put him and Nezuko back in their box

- When Sanemi stabbed the box, he moved to try and protect Nezuko but the box was too cramped and they both got stabbed despite his efforts. Later when he tries to bait him with his marechi blood, he’s too focused on resisting the blood and on Nezuko who he had grown to see as a sister to care about the wide eyed looks the pillars were giving him.

Kyojuro Rengoku (I am so sorry in advance Kyojuro simps I put this man THROUGH IT)

- He had just finished a mission and was going to get another mission when a crow he hadn’t seen work in years came flying to him, obviously panicked telling him how Senjuro’s school was attacked and how no one can find Senjuro among the bodies. The crow was Shinjuro’s

- When he hears that, all the kakushi and other demon slayers present would say they had never seen the flame pillar run so frantically, he only stopped to apologize briefly if he bumped into someone while running but the only thing racing in his mind was his little brother who had no weapon to defend himself with. He forced the image of his brother being nothing but a corpse away only thinking about saving Senjuro

- When he reached the school, he forced himself to calm down. Panicking isn’t going to magically bring Senjuro to him so he needs to keep himself in check because with so many people dead, he’s not the only one concerned over the kids

- There were no survivors on the area that was attacked, the police were there investigating the deaths of the many children and teachers, Kyojuro had to spend time convincing the police he was with them and to be allowed to investigate as well

- With no survivors, he heard from the police that there was a blood trail when they got there and he went to find the trail, when he reached the end of it where there were no traces of Senjuro but since the people there were untrained civilians, Senjuro was the only possible person to have been there

- He spent multiple days searching, Mitsuri was at one point sent to check on him and it was clear he was pushing himself, as days passed by, his composure and bright demeanor were crumbling and he started latching onto any lead to at the very least find the body of Senjuro to take back home but it was becoming clear that he would never find it and a kakushi had to be the one to tell him that his body was likely eaten to the bone or eaten and discarded to either rot away or eaten by someone else

- Kyojuro took a week off, not just because of the grief he felt at that moment but because he needed to check on his father and make sure he would be okay, the man didn’t even face Kyojuro when he came in to visit, he forced himself to not cry in front of his father as he tried to talk to the man who couldn’t even say a word and just drank away even as his eldest son tried to talk to him

- Servants were hired to monitor Shinjuro by Kyojuro as he was concerned about his health both physically and mentally but he did notice how Shinjuro never resisted to being taken care of by the people he hired. They reported to him he could be heard muttering Senjuro’s name and even stares at his room for extended periods of time

- When he made his return, he apologized to the pillars for his behavior the past two weeks (even though no one blamed the man, some even said it was okay if he needed more time, they wouldn’t judge) but whenever he was told that he said he had to be strong to protect the weak so he could be someone that could stop families from ending up like his own

- He was far more determined in killing demons, demon attacks had become personal to him now, whenever he saw a demon eating people he found himself wondering what they must’ve thought in the afterlife as the demon desecrated their bodies

- In the pillar meeting, when he was informed of a swordsman who travelled with not one but two demons, he felt disgust as who knows how many humans they could eat. On the way to the meeting, he couldn’t help but notice Shinobu deliberately avoiding him a bit, Giyuu was doing the same but the man never really talked with them much to begin with

- When he saw Senjuro go out of the box with Nezuko, he felt the smile on his face drop and his heart practically sunk to the core of the earth as he saw the unmistakable hair of a Rengoku and the face was so clearly Senjuro’s despite his eyes having a black sclera and his iris and pupil becoming cat like, the pillars had all turned to see if the flame pillar was alright and he could hear Himejima mutter prayers and Mitsuri was on the verge of tears seeing Senjuro alive but as a demon

- He found himself going into denial until Tanjiro, who had been freed as Obanai left to comfort the distressed love pillar, ran and yelled Senjuro’s name and told him to resist his hunger

- “My sister and the other demon with us are different! They would never eat a human!”

- Senjuro was a good kid, he was innocent, kind and a bit on the timid side. He had helped raise him, he knew Senjuro would never want to harrm a fellow human even when threatened.

Hey Leaque! I know you watched the new Justice League movie and I was around when you were doing the very first DC movie reviews back in the day. I would absolutely love a review of this one if you have the time :)

i've been a fan of Snyder's universe from day 1 so i understand this might be considered an off-balance review already, but i want to note that i didn't come in wanting the film to be good or willing to see it as good despite actual impressions. i wanted to watch it as the Justice League movie i was supposed to get back in 2017, the same one i was willing to not watch for years if it meant Zack Snyder got to finish his vision even later down the line

i was actually as neutral as i could possibly get because at this point i don't have any real emotional involvement in whether this version of the DCEU continues or not. WB execs have done some fucked up things with the treatment of the cast/ray fisher, so i take this as Snyder's DC trilogy and nothing more (which makes it bittersweet for me but that's a different topic)

heavy spoilers follow

it's incredibly comic book-like. i remember typing the exact same words back in the Dawn of Justice days: it doesn't read as a superhero film a la Marvel but as a comic book film. each frame could be a realistically painted comic book frame; the dialogues would fit freakishly well if they had to fit speech bubbles. the damn scene overlaps and changes are heavily reminiscent of a comic book. better yet: of a Justice League comic book. if you’re familiar with comic book events where big things happen and it affects everyone, this is how this reads

it’s a heavy film but it’s not hopeless. i’ve been seeing reviews pop-up already: “ZS’s Justice League film is twice as longe and twice as hopeless” is the maybe verbatim title of most articles. the one thing i kept thinking throughout these four hours is how much hope this is filled with. we’re dealing with a post-superman world that was shaken by the loss of a beloved superhero and you see batman, the #1 comic book superhero known for brooding and darkness and all things sad and bad, be the loudest, most hopeful person in the film, trying to get a team together to save the world, and later on being two steps from literally screaming that bringing back superman is what should happen no matter the cost because of his faith and hope in winning. did we watch the same film?

in the same vein, the 4 hours seem like a stretch until you realize each part has an actual purpose that introduces or ties in important aspects related to the film’s one purpose: take down Steppenwolf and Darkseid. i don’t believe any scene was wasted on useless information. it can get tiring in the way watching a shot tv series gets tiring: it does NOT get boring at any point

such wonderful character arcs. seeing each of the team’s personalities and quirks, the way they clash with each other, the way it makes it all work so goddamn beautifully. the way they click because they just keep interacting so much? Whedon’s cut didn’t give me a team, it gave me five different people in costume that were forced to sort of work in the same vicinity as each other. Snyder’s cut gave me a version of the Justice League that worked so flawlessly together by the end of the film it felt like a dance. felt like comic book page spreads

right before the epilogue they all pose together in the rising dawn, clark included, having won. super reminiscent of the JL cartoon intro. i cried a bit

listen to me. i need to make this clear. listen. j’onn. j’onny boy. the way he’s designed and cgi’d..........the adorable frown............the kind smile......................his obvious need to make others feel better and to simply help......................i love him

his interaction with bruce only comes in the end and it’s super brief but seeing those two still not know how the hell each other works even in film format is hilarious. bruce having accepted aliens and magic and shit is the new norm after like 20 years of only having to deal with the joker attempting to rob neon green hair dyes or some shit is so much bigger of a character development than i ever expected, especially coming from BvS where he’s just a stupid fat-bat-carrying onion

i wasn’t a big fan of Suicide Squad’s joker portrayal but we get to see him at the end of the film while we’re seeing a possible future where lois lane has died and superman is best friends with darkseid playing tic-tac-antilife equation. Snyder somehow managed to turn jared leto into a disgustingly legit comic-faithful joker. dont’ ask me how

in the same scene they mention jason and his death

we see a few bits of some green lanterns in some scenes, one from the past and one from a possible ultra dark and edgy darkseid future. still convinced bruce simply willingly did not go looking for hal, which, fair

they cut out the fish joke bruce tells arthur when they first meet which immediately turns the whole film into a 1/10 for me

ben affleck’s bruce wayne and batman continue being my favorite on-screen batman iteration to date. we finally move from the usual dark lone soldier version Hollywood is relentlessly giving us into one that belongs with the Justice League. incredibly heartwarming to see

there’s a scene when the JL are first assaulting Steppenwolf’s base and they’re all fighting parademons and shit and there’s a moment where you see batman fighting the Space SWAT From Hell alone and the way he moves? the way he flows from one position to another and another like i’m watching a damn comic book animation????????? sir????????????????????

barry allen saved them

like, literally, barry allen saved them. superman was back and everyone was ready to dance one final time and they were all going ‘steppenwolf fucking SUCKS’ and steppenwolf was crying to darkseid and then the motherboxes did their thing and they all were obliterated into star dust and then barry allen was like ‘bitch i told you i need FRIENDS’ and turned back time and now they’re all okay again :o)

No I loved hearing your thoughts on the team accepting Adrian more! It's something I really want in future seasons - if they can do it with Chris they can do it with him. Emilia does seem to have a fondness for him already.

And in regards to Adrian x reader, along with him making them laugh and giving them a safe place to completely be themselves, now he also has someone who accepts him completely. He's never had that before, someone who fully understands and wants and loves him. Someone who thinks he's endearing and funny and brave instead of weird or annoying or dangerous (which, ok, maybe he is dangerous but you kind of love that about him too). You're both at home and at peace with each other. You're both stupidly in love with each other.

yes!!! literally all adrian deserves is someone who not only accepts him completely, but admires him and aligns with his weird energy. i always try to write reader that way bc it's the way i would behave if i was in that universe i think. obviously there are some oversights that reader indulges in because adrian is just like totally fine accidentally killing the wrong person which isn't great but. we all have our flaws, i guess lmao

but YES i think growing up in the same culture that chris did, adrian didn't get the kind of nourishment or emotional growth that he deserved. we get very limited information on adrian's family + backstory, which makes sense. we didnt really get any backstory on any of the other characters either other than the basest information or what we saw of harcourt and economos in suicide squad.

judging by what we saw of chris' background, though, and the fact that he and adrian's older brother were friends, you kinda surmise that their parents ran in the same circles. or, at least, adrian's mom since his dad divorced her and married another guy. or, auggie could be an outlier yknow. i had a best friend growing up whose mom was just unabashedly verbally abusive to her in front of everyone and anyone. most of the other moms hated her for the way she treated her daughter, so it could be that adrian's parents did look down on auggie. i dont personally think so, though.

so YEAH he deserves all the love and support and encouragement that he probably never got growing up. evergreen isn't home to him, it's just where he grew up. for adrian, i think home would be a person absolutely.

I want a corrie guard showing their brother from the frontlines around the city set to Enemy. I want ARC trooper Jesse fighting Bo-Katan set to Dynasties and Dystopia with flashbacks to both their childhoods. I want flashbacks showing a squad's very mixed experiences with their jedi general as they stand over his funeral pyre set to Guns For Hire

Guns for Hire - I said this in the tags but this needs to be set to a GUT WRENCHING emotionally painful scene. I've decided to time it to a disaster-in-progress and the immediate aftermath. I'd imagined a clone commander/captain falling to his fiery death and his Jedi General who has attachment issues diving in right after him, despite knowing that it's essentially suicide.

OR there's a clone commander (i really like them ok) whi's planet side with a small number of men to aid another legion/battalion. but what ends up happening is that like 90% of his men are on board the ship, which is in a space battle. disaster strikes. we get a series of shots in slow motion of the commander being the last one standing, much like Thorn was, but he turns around and sees his battalion's star destroyer in flames, nose diving to the planet's surface. he's lost everything. some other clones and Jedi come up behind him and can only watch in horror as the entire ship collides with the ground. Next shot is the commander falling to his knees--then his bucket's off, face pressed into the dirt as he doubles over and screams. We can't hear it because one of the crescendos Guns for Hire is playing over everything, drowning out the sound of his wailing.

Dirty little Animals - Jedi and Clone are chasing a criminal through the underworld and have to steal a speeder bike to continue the chase. Jedi gets on in front and the poor clone barely has time to get steady before the Jedi says "I drive fast" and right when the beat drops they take off. I always liked those cyberpunk bikes that have the trace of neon blue light following them as they drive

Playground - okay this is basic bc it basically follows the show's use of the song but akjshdflkaj a seedy bar! lots of weird new alien species somewhere in the depths of coruscant, all watching the protags as they make their way to the back of the bar

What Could Have Been - sounds like a good Anidala song tbh. i dont have a scene planned for this tho this is my first time really listening to it

Goodbye - I was originally meh about this song but the backing melody really brings out the best parts of this song (since it leans into the more dramatic and less soapy melancholic, to me). I can see a clone singing this to himself. Perhaps even Anakin singing the more drawn-out notes and the runs.

OR OH I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS. A clone teetering on the edge of abandoning the life he wants or a life with his brothers. he chooses himself.

Hi I’m a new atiny and I’m excited about my first comeback with them but I had a question? Maybe it’s dumb but is there like a storyline to their MVs? I still haven’t watched all of them but I was wondering what the hourglass meant that’s all over this comeback. Anyway thank you very much, I’m sorry if this is weird

hi !! first off, welcome :D how are you liking ateez so far? any favorite boys yet? i hope all the pre-comeback activities are hyping you up!! ALSO, that isn't a dumb question i promise !! yes, they do have a storyline! it comes with a lot of theories since they won’t explicitly tell us & it also spans across A LOT of their content. like mvs, albums, lyrics, vcrs, shows, etc. i’ll put my own thoughts under the read more because it’s a lot. i also can’t explain the hourglass without telling you about their story too.

to me, the ateez storyline has pretty general themes in regards to good vs evil.. rebellion vs control.. multiverses/timelines/time travel. i’ll be going through this per era (treasure & fever) !! i’ll try to focus primarily on their mvs, but i’ll mention some things from their albums and some vcrs for their comebacks.

TREASURE ERA (EP.1-5):

pirate king/treasure mv doesn’t have too much story to it. these two mvs are mainly just introductions to them and their story. esp with the very iconic lines “will you be my friend?” and in the intro track on the album right before pirate king, “will you join us?” they sing a lot about their ambitions and the future. it’s safe to believe that this is the good ateez.

say my name is our first glance at the bad ateez (or who everyone calls halateez). in this mv, we can see that ateez are in distress. in a lot of their solo shots, they’re typically in not likable settings. yeosang is trapped in a glass box with a member of halateez staring him down. hongjoong is sat in a blue hallway with a lot of smoke. yunho is at a desk surrounded by papers & this is also where we first see the hourglass (or cromer). however, it’s just a prop for now. san is in a room surrounded by broken glass.. BUT only after he is seen staring at one of the members of halateez through it. in the big table scene, you can see them all working to find the answer to something.. which is very interesting to note that wooyoung is the only one to be seen in that room alone after an alarm seemingly makes all the other evacuate. WE ALSO get the first face-off between halateez and ateez. but they’re not directly face to face. they’re only seeing them through glass panels & we can see that ateez is very clearly defiant when it comes to them. we also see that when seonghwa is facing the halateez member alone, that it’s him. which could also showcase the time traveling aspect. as if halateez is jumping through the timelines to get to them. another interesting thing to note that in the last verse of the song, it switches off between ateez and halateez. this mv ends with the treasure instrumental & yeosang missing from the glass casing.

in hala hala, it is primarily halateez. the members in this mv are seen in darker attire & makeup and more clean cut. i believe halateez is from a universe where they are the ones in charge & calling the shots. if not that, then a very organized and powerful rebellion group. hence the same outfits almost like a uniform. this mv isn’t much but halateez dancing.. HOWEVER, the ending is VERY interesting. all members snap their necks at the same time (hence the lyric ‘suicide squad’).. all members BUT wooyoung. he ultimately pretends to do it, but is the last one standing and wiping blood from his mouth while surrounded by all of the bodies.. and remember, wooyoung was the only one alone in the room all of ateez were in while they were working on documents.

jumping to wave & illusion.. we can see that this is a pretty sudden change. however, it all still matches with their storyline very well.

in illusion, the members are seen in bright and colorful clothing on a flying boat asleep. in this, they’re back to that adventuring pirate crew from the beginning. however, the lyrics show that they have... no idea who they are and where they are. it’s believed too that the lyrics are talking to someone. in the middle of all of their singing about how they found paradise and how they can just party it up now, there’s a repeated “let me free” which kind of seems.. out of place. if we’re having fun, why do we need to be let free? as the title entails, this is all an illusion. the hourglass is seen again along with a glass cube and a butterfly on a table. we also see a quick glance of a halateez mask on the globe. we can see mingi listening to a headset/tape player. they make it to an island that is very.. fake. a large compass.. a floating hourglass and just very desaturated colors. even the members lose saturation when they reach the ground. they eventually find.. a cave? it has a lot of drapes and tinfoil looking walls. for a split second, we see a member of halateez standing there. ateez then reaches a very smokey room with lights and flowers. they don’t look so happy anymore. it’s like the illusion is very much wearing off. also remember, they initially were looking for their paradise so for the illusion of one to be broken... hmm. this mv ends with the members running away towards a light & shots of them sleeping in wave play where it ends with a whispered “open your eyes”.

in wave, the members are together once again on an island. just them this time. it’s very fun. but.. it’s almost like they were dropped there. i mean, sure it makes sense that san/yeosang/jongho wake up in a bed... but why is mingi waking up under a tree in the middle of nowhere? looking at the headset/tape player confused like it isnt his? why is seonghwa waking up in a pool and why is hongjoong waking up on the road? for the most part, they all wake up alone but they eventually find each other again. once they’re all together, we can see that ateez are suddenly the same carefree souls they were before. constantly talking about how there should be no worries.

in wonderland, it’s kind of.. hard to distinguish if this is halateez or ateez. we can see a lot of power dynamics here. hongjoong raps about how he shouldn’t be doubted if they wanted to reach neverland/their utopia. i say this because he mentions being a child forever like peter; but also because of the illusion mv. it’s also pretty obvious that mingi holds a type of power here. he’s seen as the center of attention with the marching band like he’s the leader of a grand army. aside from that, i think there’s a bit of a rescue mission occurring? in all honesty, i do not know where san & jongho are within the storyline for this mv. however, we can see that yeosang & seonghwa are in the same tunnel.. but not together. the elevator shot in the beginning is believed to show them going through time and same with the tunnel. which makes sense when you look at the updated ateez logo and the way it looks like it has a lot of lines that meet into the middle. aside from that, we have yunho staring at a bunch of tvs albeit they’re playing nothing we can see. then we have wooyoung.. all chained up and alone. it looks like nobody’s coming to save him the way hwa came to save yeosang and san. perhaps because he had betrayed them in hala hala? the staircase is also pretty important. i dont know the exact piece but i know it’s similar to an art piece that shows an endless staircase and continuous loop.. perhaps a hint at a continuous cycle in the storylines? seeing as this wonderland mv has gone up in flames, it looks like the next plan of action has to be to cross that bridge seen earlier. believed to have been the bridge between dystopia & utopia.

in the utopia mv, there isn’t a lot of crazy storyline? it’s believed that once ateez walk across that bridge and through the door, they’re in utopia... or so they think. it’s mainly a lot of dancing and pretty shots, but the reoccurrence of smoke-filled rooms leading to rooms of oversaturation is back. the answer vcr before this comeback also show a lot of story. we see halateez and ateez facing off together once again with essentially.. the same question. we’ve spent this whole time believing that ateez are the good guys and halateez are the bad guys... but what if that wasn’t the case? sure, we see them as such but is that who they really are? each respective party holds up a mirror to the other asking “are you evil?” / “are you good?”. cut to the iconic intro of san on his knees.. almost like he’s the one having this war? almost like he’s trying to figure out the answer himself about if he is good or evil.

the answer mv starts with a man in a white suit looking at the destruction of what was left behind of ateez/halateez. the move of san tipping over an overflowing wine glass.. it’s also thought like he’s turning the hourglass as well as if to start their timer once again. mingi is talking about how he sees that the end is near, but hongjoong brings up how we should finish as strong as we started until we get what we desired. it looks like wooyoung is walking in snow.. or is it the sand of time? i mean.. the hourglass was just tipped over wasn’t it? yeosang is seen alone in a red desert surrounded by broken glass. almost like he’s alone with no way out? speaking of mirrors, it’s also possible that ateez uses mirrors to travel through dimensions. like how san was staring at a member of halateez instead of himself in say my name? well.. yunho is surrounded by mirrors but cant seem to see anything but himself. he’s pretty frustrated about that. wooyoung is also seen in a room of butterflies. butterflies typical have a positive meaning of change, hope, transformation. we then get the icONIC AS HELL SHOT of halateez and ateez face to face at last at the table. as a repeated line entails, they’re making a toast to something. perhaps they have finally come to terms with each other and what to do so that they could exist peacefully as one? but maybe ateez has already done so much to one timeline that another had to be ruined? either way, an agreement was made between both hongjoong’s. at the end of the mv, we are greeted by the man in the white suit again... perhaps it’s another time traveler who knows about what ateez & halateez had done and was trying to stop them. no one knows who that is in all honesty. it’s believed that it might be one of the members.

FEVER ERA (EP 6-8):

PHEW OKAY UHHH.. honestly.. i say it’s crucial to watch this diary film at the very least. it explains this timeline of events now. halateez makes a brief appearance to hongjoong and the hourglass is back. poor hongjoong is tasked with finding everyone to bring them together once again. seemingly.. a fallout between friends.. another broken timeline. i feel as though it’s pretty explanatory on each individual backstory, but there is a lot more in depth things. like seonghwa crossing the line and breaking the rules. the endless loop of staircases being represented with san on the escalators as he recounts having to leave his friends again. they all have their individual things that grounds them whenever theyre feeling lost, but they also had each other. i’m assuming that ateez from the treasure era managed to mess up this timeline of ateez causing them to drive everyone away from each other.. which is why halateez tasked hongjoong with the control of time. i mean, an hourglass holds a specific amount of time but you can manipulate it by turning it before it’s done or choosing to turn it way after it has finished. ultimately, the diary film shows 8 friends who broke off into 8 different paths when they weren’t suppose to and now they’re trying to find each other once again.

we can see this in the inception mv. a lot of their dreams were broken and so they’re lost without it. ultimately.. they are lost again without each other and their dreams.

hm.. im not too sure about thanxx. we see a parallel shot of ateez holding the flag like in wonderland. we see the theme of defiance once again. this song talks a lot about how they’re choosing to move on their own path despite what anyone says because who knows themselves better than .. themself. in this mv, they tease their song the real, which they performed on kingdom.

SPEAKING OF KINGDOM.... EVERY STAGE HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THEIR STORYLINE. wave overtune showed the pirate route where something happened to hongjoong’s crew and he lost them all. similar to how hongjoong in inception/thanxx has lost them all. from the wonderland is showing WHAT happened to the crew, but this time they don’t lose. rhythm ta (the awakening of summer) has all of these past props (records, yeosang’s violin) being confiscated. this performance is inspired by money heist. AGAIN, we have the theme of government defiance. on the newspaper that wooyoung rips up, it shows that the govt had deemed halateez (Black Pirates) as terr0r1sts. initially, i was wondering if this is just a re-branded halateez but then i remembered.... ateez and halateez had that agreement. perhaps this is the original ateez and they’re doing their part of the deal in protecting halateez. which means stealing back all of the stuff that was stolen and removing evidence & calling for the people to turn against the govt. i see this as halateez turning ateez into a second version of them. especially because the stage ends with hongjoong punching the glass and retrieving the hourglass after putting on a halateez hat.

in answer: ode to joy, it offers.. closure to the treasure era. kind of. we see yeosang in the glass case again looking at the man in white from answer. then it cuts to halateez seonghwa in the cage with yeosang & the two of them flipping the hourglass together. it’s like yunho tries to stop him, but is too late... which is when he starts facing off with the man in the white suit to distract him so that yeosang & halahwa can get away. we are once again greeted with halateez and ateez facing each other at the table directly mirroring each other. halasan is right behind him copying every move. i know.. yeosang’s bit has symbolism but i can’t remember.. but i know it’s suppose to be like he’s swimming? then during hongjoong’s part, we can see halateez assisting the members in each kingdom stage leading up to answer.. so it’s like showing that halateez (although not seen) has been orchestrating everything this whole time.

this last bit is pretty major in the story. so it seen that san is praying in the middle of this entire fight.. and wooyoung tries stopping him. his efforts don’t work and san essentially sacrifices himself so that he could fight the man in the white suit alone. i feel like there are more.. perhaps.. 8? men in white suits given that san took down one, jongho was with another, and hongjoong was surrounded by them. it makes me believe that these white suits are again ateez from another timeline trying to stop them. halateez is giving ateez the crown.. as if passing off their power to them. but jongho throws it away instead of accepting it. at the end of all of this chaos.. ateez ultimately comes out on top and defeats both halateez and the white suits.

OR SO THEY THOUGHT !! in the fireworks mv, they are seen in a dystopian society once again. if you remember, i had brought up smokey rooms often. reason being in the diary ver. of this album, there’s a part that goes into more detail about their story. i need to read into the theories for this era more but the smoke is very important. jongho recounts how he gets suffocated with a smoke that makes him see illusions and past events, but since it all feels so real it all just seems like DEJA VU.......... the dystopian society ateez are in for this mv... it’s smokey as hell. which is believed to be the smoke that causes such illusions but they’re able to break through it. i mean.. look at this teaser for the comeback.. looks way too colorful and peaceful. we don’t see this at all in the fireworks video.. SIKE. when ateez are walking around the dystopian wasteland (aka strictland), they’re in these nice suits. it’s almost like the effects of their illusion from the teaser was wearing off and they started waking up to the reality. and once they start seeing everything for what it is, they once again.. start creating havoc as they have in the past. this mv ends with the white suit man RETURNING ... and seeing the aftermaths of what ateez has done. he looks around as if he knows.. that it was them.

in the dreamers mv.. again it has small symbolisms. jongho with the headphones (mingi’s headphones).. hongjoong with the small cube.. the spray cans like from halahala. but i dont know too much here.

NOW.. WE HAVE DEJA VU AND ETERNAL SUNSHINE. we don’t have too much info on them right now since it hasnt been released.. bUT THE HOURGLASS IS BROKEN. the teaser they posted showed that the hourglass has been broken and essentially... all the timelines are broken. this leaves room for a lot of mixed up timelines. which is what people believe is the reason for the reoccurrence of similar hair colors from past eras on different members. we’re all getting deja vu from these repeated looks, no? eternal sunshine... it’s another super bright concept like illusion, thanxx, and celebrate. people are tying this to the movie eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (i actually like this movie). in the movie, the couple gets a medical procedure to have their memories erase from each other. perhaps like how ateez had forgotten about each other?.. but in the movie, the main guy is trying REEEEALLY hard to get her back. which causes a mess in the timelines of their memories. things start repeating with countless acts of DEJA VU and things that just do not seem real. which again.. lines up to their story.

first off.. if you read all of this, i love you. i never have been so invested in a story like this before and it genuinely is such an amazing storyline.

there’s plenty i missed. like.. i didnt even talk about fever road but they have a couple things in there that elaborate on their friendship and everything. i also remembered their mama stage?? im p sure that had plot but i never.. looked into that one. and not EVERYTHING ateez releases is releated obv.. unless KJK is the man in the white suit but i doubt it.

but yeah :D those were just my thoughts. if you read this far and have any other theories, plEASE SEND THEM. i think it’s so interesting and i love discussing things.

control — if you look at some of the choreos, mingi controls ateez with just a gesture of his hand a lot. so perhaps that's also story-related as well? like how i mentioned he had a type of power in wonderland? leader of an army? ateez also has this seoul music awards 2021 perf where they dance like puppets, but it’s not orderly.. they’re missing their puppet master & this performance was during mingi’s hiatus.. hmmm

SO i just finished wonder egg priority and i think that with confidence i can say it has been one of my favorite animes like... ever ?? and not even from hyperfixation or obsession over it just... its so fucking real yet so simple in a way that i havent rlly seen shown in any other shows you feel ??

but first i wanna talk about how sexy the art and animation is real quick... HOMIE ITS SO GOOD LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT JUST... serotonin... the characters are all so unique and iconic and fun but not over the top in their designs yknow ??? they seem like regular every day girls but they stand out and theyre all sO CUTE !!!! also i love how the style is like this soft bubbly slice of life lookin stuff with bright happy colors and the most beautiful scenes you could find but they also have the SICKEST fight scenes complete with whimsical animal helpers and terrifying villains and crazy weapons unique to each character. and the animation. god DAMN shawty i am obsessed with everything in this show. i might make a post solely about the art later lol bc i wanna get into the other stuff.

so the themes in the show right ?? it starts just as this cute lil magical girl kinda deal but within the first episode we see that like.. oh damn... thats kinda heavy... tbh i was a little shocked and thought about stopping bc yknow bad mental health BUT i was so intrigued that i had to keep going and i am SO GLAD that i did. because this show just so beautifully discusses all these heavy topics in such an eloquent and artistically expressive way. and also like, , the juxtaposition of the charming childlike vibe with bright colors and 14 yr old girl protagonists against the dark themes of suicide and so much else,, i think is just perfect. bc a lot of heavy animes are more of the seinen genre and have some middle aged dude as a protag or make the entire color palette dim or offer little relief to the pain of these heavy themes right ?? but NO not wonder egg bitches B) because these problems arent just things that ppl face later in life or just problems that need to be talked about among adults or the edgy seinen watching squad,, these are REAL problems that face people of every age, gender etc and i think its awesome that wonder egg addresses that. some may cringe at the thought of their high schooler watching animes that discuss sexual harassment, suicide, abuse, self harm, eating disorders etc,, but in reality it is the most comforting thing i have ever come across and is basically jsut free anime therapy. because not only does wonder egg present these themes to the viewers as something real that happens to all kinds of people (making said people feel heard in a way that maybe they hadnt before), but it also makes sure to vanquish all of these forms of trauma. and the way the trauma is vanquished isnt always beautiful and it isnt always just magically gone with a poof. the struggles of overcoming or living with that sort of thing are shown in such a real and relatable way that addresses every hardship trauma survivors have to go through. and i just. god i cry bro.

oh m y GOD and the lgbtq+ rep in this show ?? like shawty... as soon as i saw episode one i was picking up on some gay/lesbian themes but then again im sapphic and project that a lot so i tend to see that sort of stuff like... everywhere... but NE WAYS... episode ten made me FUKCING CRY BRO LIke i cant believe there was a whole trans character with a whole trans pride hoodie like LKGHKDGH my heart is just so.. so fucking full thinking about him. bc like yeah i know there are trans characters in anime but i feel like theyre always very ambiguous about actually being trans or not or erased or portrayed as a harmful stereotype or theyre constantly misgendered and still refered to as their assigned gender at birth and i hate it. HOWEVEr... Kaoru.. *chefs kiss* it was so amazing to see a character straight up say “yeah im trans” in such a casual yet powerful way bc i personally have never seen that before. and i love love loved how he went into his backstory and talked to momoe about gender bc i think thats what she rlly needed and that it helped her find herself and it makes me so happy oh my god,, and the way they talked about it never seemed forced or like it was the focal point of his existence yknow ?? like yeah he existed to help momoe overcome some of her trauma but he also just existed to be HIM yknow ?? also... personally, i headcanon momoe as a trans girl even though i dont remember it being explicitly stated plus the school scenes of her and stuff would seem like they suggest otherwise ??but,,, SHAWTY THE AMOUNT OF SUBTEXT and her complicated relationship w gender is... something i feel like a cis girl would not go through so harshly yknow ?? with all of the questioning and feeling detached from femininity or feeling like ppl dont see her as an actual girl and only like her as a guy or for her masculine traits,,, but dont take my word on this bc i myself am a cis girl but that was just my take on it as someone in the lgbtq+ community trying to educate myself on the transgender community :) either way,, wonder eggs portrayal of momoe and kaoru and the way that momoe becomes so passionate about expressing herself the way she wants to as a girl is just... good lord im gonna cry its so perfect,,,.so ... i just love this show way too much. i also am honestly super lost about the relationship btwn acca and ura-acca ?? bc i was gonna mention ura-acca as a canonically gay guy bc when i was watching i interpreted ep 11 as him being in love with acca and being jealous of Azusa (bc i mean,, they lived together (i swear to god there was only one bed in that apartment) and had a daughter together and def loved each other and also when Frill said they were husbands and then when ura-acca said he wasnt attracted to azusa but he was def jealous of their relationship ??) but then i saw somewhere that theyre brothers ?? which would make sense ig since they look kinda similar and accas daughter called ura-acca “uncle”.. but at the same time its ANIME SO THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR and referring to gay couples as siblings is an EXTREMELY common euphemism soooo... IM JUST LOST HERE... but yeah i tried doing research and found different things so i cant say anything for sure >:( however,,, if they are canonically a lil fruity for each other... when frill refered to acca as ura-accas husband i imploded dude you never hear that sort of wording in anime.. but if theyre related i am so sorry.

god this is so much longer than i planned it to be oops but i also love the theme about like.. relying on friends to help carry your weight but at the same time not becoming completely dependent on those friends and using their support to learn how to love yourself and rely on yourself yknow ?? bc that is exactly what healthy friendships look like. bc i think ai sort of had a codependency thing goin on with koito maybe ?? but now she has a whole squad of funky friends that are so so different but all struggle with different kinds of trauma and although they fight over it, they always get through it with each other together. and they push each other no matter what to be the best versions of themselves and they teach other that getting hurt is okay because theyre always gonna be there to pick up the pieces no matter what happens. they can give each other space when they need and adapt to meet each others needs but theyre always able to balance it out with their own needs and thats such a beautiful thing in friendships especially at their age like damn i wish i had that maturity when i was 14 but no all i had was depression. another thing is that through these friendships you get to see all the different sides of each girl; you get to see them being strong or a shining light to their friends when theyre hurting but you also get to see them being hurt and weak and allowing themselves to be on the receiving end of the comfort. their friendships allows them to have weaknesses but it also allows them to highlight their strengths and thrive off of each others. I LOVE FRIENDSHIP DUDE

next i wanna briefly mention some of the themes connected to suicide that ive noticed. a big one is the survivors guilt that ai feels once koito is dead. several times she screams that she wishes she couldve gone with koito and she dreams of a “perfect world” where they committed a double suicide. one of the main reasons for her troubles is that she blames herself for koitos death and feels like it should be her thats dead... but at the same time she feels like too much of a coward to do anything now that koito is gone. she just has all these complex and contradicting feelings that wear away at her in ways that ppl that havent gone through the suicide of a loved one could never imagine. a lot of the times when things like this are portrayed in media i feel like its more in a way thats meant to guilt trip those that have taken their own lives and paint suicide as this selfish sin thats unforgivable but... not only does wonder egg reject that idea and instead portray it as a heartbreaking tragedy with,,, so so many terrible reasons, but it focuses on the feelings of ai separate from koito without blaming her in any way. not once did i feel like the show antagonized koito or that ai blamed koito for doing any of this, but they simply mourned her loss and touched on ais reaction towards the event but separate from koito herself if that makes sense. and i think that discussing survivors guilt without painting koito as the bad guy is something so beautifully done in wonder egg that can really resonate with those that have lost a loved one to suicide and have struggled with these same things.

okay i think this is the last thing ill mention,,, but HOMIE THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE BIT AT THE END. I AM. OBSESSED. i am such a whore for anything about the multiverse okay n e ways...,, not only did this make a super epic trippy ending of season one and add a little bit more magical girl whimsy to the show,, but it had such a powerful message. from the perspective of og ai,, finding out that you killed yourself in another world is... i mean its definitely not a surprise but at the same time it rlly makes you think how close og ai herself couldve been to that point and what decisions led her out of that dark place in her life. if i were in her shoes i would be terrified and id cry bc the thought of going back to such a dark place and actually going through with something like that is my worst fear and probably something that ai fears too. but at the same time,,, think from the perspective of ai two !!! like yeah its true that theres this awful terrible version of ai that dies but theres also a whole version of ai that is a superhero magical girl fighting off monsters to save countless ppls lives !! and she has a badass lizard and a gang of awesome friends !!! at first i was worried that ai two would be jealous of og ai and compare herself to her and feel inferior but like.. THEYRE LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON AND CAPABLE OF THE SAME THINGS !!! and ai two realized that !! just within the span of one episode, she went from the version of ai who took her life,, to the version of ai jumping in front of a friend to take a bullet for them and save their life. and that just inspired THE SHIT OUT OF ME. i think that ai was sent another version of herself to sort of beat her own worst enemy yknow ?? those doubts and fears that shes no good or that shes that same bystander from episode one and that she hasnt changed at all. but getting to interact with her parallel self and see her grow was just what she needed to realize that while yeah sometimes the worst thing can happen and things can be terrible but on the other hand sometimes the most wonderful thing imaginable can happen because she has the power to do either.

so im gonna go ahead and stop rambling bc i got all my thoughts out that i wanted to for this post :D but yeah lol i might make another if i feel like it sometime. long story short: this show is perfect and it is going on my favorite of all times.
