Oh buddy. Ohhhh buddy. Thank you for this ask, and sorry in advance for the essay. I ship Courfius so much. I follow their ao3 tag so religiously that I can tell you that the last thing posted to it was on February 26 2021. I ship them platonically, romantically, angstily, fluffily, canon era, modern era, and every AU in between. They are so versatile.

I’m gonna be real tho, it was one of those things that started as a “haha what if” ship because of the lines like ‘come home with me’ and ‘i have come to sleep with you’ in the brick, and the fact that Courfeyrac gives Marius his old coat (a trope I cannot get enough of, I am so weak, oh my god,) and they were roommates. Oh my god they were roommates.

Marius falls under my all-time favourite character category of high intelligence, low wisdom. He is literally such a disaster of a human that I feel like the only person who could handle him is someone he can develop a close personal relationship to before he falls in love with them (i.e. Courfeyrac), so that the change is slow and gradual. This man cannot handle sudden change. Like at all. And then when he realizes he has feelings he’s shy about them.

Courfeyrac in my mind is someone who is a bit shallow when it comes to taste in people (and Marius is, unfortunately, Hot) and enjoys the pursuit of a relationship more than a relationship itself. He could flirt all he wanted but Marius is an oblivious dumbass about anyone’s feelings other than his own. That’s one hell of a pursuit. It’d be such a long game that he’d have time to develop Actual Feelings in the process.

So now you have a recipe for a pining disaster. They’re absolutely peak idiots friends-to-lovers, and I think the way it would happen is that they gradually push the boundaries of plausible deniability until one day they realize they’ve been dating for a while, now. You know. In the grand tradition of the slow burn.

-A fluffy concept with this as the groundwork: they move in together out of necessity as in canon, they become friends, they start sharing things. They make their plans around each other. They do that thing that longtime roommates do where they buy stuff for the house rather than themselves. They realize both their sleeping situations would be more comfortable with their two mattresses stacked back together like they’re supposed to be, and hey, it’s big enough for the two of them. Literally everyone else assumes they’re partners by now, and it takes someone casually dropping that fact in conversation for them to realize it themselves.

-Angstiness comes entirely from canon era and Courfeyrac dying on the barricade. And there are Options. If Marius falls in love with Courfeyrac and not with Cosette, he never meets Valjean and thus they both die on the barricade. If Marius falls in love with Cosette and not Courfeyrac (i.e. the canon timeline), Courfeyrac’s feelings go unrequited, and Marius either finds out way too late or not at all. If Marius falls in love with Courfeyrac and Cosette, Valjean still saves Marius, but doesn’t know about Courfeyrac and Marius has to keep living in the knowledge of what he had a chance at.

-I had this whole campy modern AU idea in which Courfeyrac and les amis are theatre actors in the musical Napoleon (a real show) with Courfeyrac playing the titular character, and Marius simps for Napoleon in the way that some Hamilton fans did for the founding fathers. He stage-doors at a show and tells them like, “you made me realize the brilliance of the real man!” or something and Courfeyrac is like “I do not condone this guy’s actions in the slightest but I love that for you?” cue a modern version of Marius’ post-être libre crisis. They fall in love and stuff too but I really haven’t figured that part out yet.

Idk if I’ll have time to write that last one (currently working on a completely different Courfius AU for the banguette) but it, along with the very concept of this ship, exists in my mind rent-free.

Anyway, TL;DR I’m love them.

n. 1 | Why did you chose your URL?

I kind of combined all the NCT members who got me really involved with NCT in the first place. So namely, the person who peeked my interest in NCT was Taeyong after my friend showed me his solo stuff and black-on-black but my first ultimate bias was Mark and then my friend’s bias (who showed me Taeyong) was Lucas (and he later became one of my major biases) So it was mxr for Mark, ca for Lucas, and yong for Taeyong (so I pronounce it mark-ah-yong) And then I was debating changing it now that I’m basically biased for all 23 members (some to different extents to others but I’m always tied with like 7 people for ultimates) but then it just felt catchy and I didn’t think I could come up with a better name than that that isn’t taken already.

n. 2 | Any side blogs? If you have them, name them and why you have them?

Initially no. Technically this is my side blog. I had a private personal blog I used to treat as a journal but then after too long with my focus on NCT and way too many “I am following you, just in a personal blog”, I basically wiped it and turned it into a random blog where I repost content that excites me / stories I like to read / whatever I want thats less personal and depressing as it was before haha… It’s @mxrcayong-main. TBH the main reason was to build better relationships with my mutuals - like they never see if I read their posts or like their stuff because my personal blog was just strange and I didnt want people to really see it. 

n. 3 | How long have you been on Tumblr?

Honestly…very long. This blog hasn’t been too long though. This started as an NCT blog March 2020, but my first ever post was about Sehun in February 2020 (which was supposed to be a one off post haha). I once had a 5SOS blog, and then a Tom Holland one, and then now this haha. I have deleted the 5SOS one, unable to delete the Tom Holland one bc I lost access to it, and now I am on this :) I low key wanted to regain access to my Tom Holland one because I’m simping again but I lost details to the email I signed it up to.

n. 5 | Why did you start your blog in the first place?

Honestly, it was the first lockdown and I was bored. 

n. 6 | Why did you choose your icon / pfp?

For the Lucas one; I liked the aesthetic. My favorite kind of aesthetic is this vintage, faded, film kind of look. For me, I think one of the most profound and important things we have as humans are these vivid memories so any photo that kind of mimics this feel is super gorgeous to me. Also Lucas is stunning.

I used to have a Haechan matching aesthetic to the Lucas one, but I recently decided to turn it blue. I chose Mark because I’m the biggest simp for him (alongside with Jeno and Haechan mostly). This is purely because blue is one of my favorite colors; it always calms me down, and I just thought the aesthetic and composition of this photo really pleases me. Like, it also fits my vibe a bit more of the ‘softie’ and my friend even says I fit the ‘blue vibe’ more idk haha. I just come onto Tumblr for escapism and write for escapism, and blue helps calm me down so I wanted this escapism to be calming y’know haha

My post with the most notes….honestly isn’t one im the happiest with but someone requested it so I tried to do it justice but idk I dont like writing fics too far in the future yk?? but the one with the second most notes that I really love is called “Come Home To Me”

I can probably count on one hand haha I want to get to know people, but I’m really scared to. I gotta say tho, I’m so grateful for all the mutuals I have - but especially @pastelsicheng and @kopikokun because they really stuck with me through some bad times I’ve had. also, tons of love for @sunflowersora for being my first supporter on this app and low key motivation to keep staying on the app <3

Just around 200, so not too much compared to others, but I still can’t believe that there’s 200 people who like my stuff.

I really do! Honestly, I have to say I still don’t feel like I belong on the Tumblr community? Like I feel like I’m a newbie still finding their place. Theres a lot of times where I question that if I just leave, no one would be excited to see my posts anyway / no one will notice. 1. How did you get into graphics / gif making?

i used to have anime blogs with a friend/classmate and we used to edit headers for our blog and we even did a lil “contest” like who’s gonna make the better header haha.. and her mom would pick a winner ~ it was fun and i always enjoyed designing things (even tho those headers were really basic stuff with a free picture editor haha so you can imagine..)

2.  Do you do something creative/related “irl” as well?

i actually do!! so not many of you guys know because i only shared it on twitter that i actually graduated last week from uni ~ 🥺🥳 and i majored in motion picture and media, which is basically filmmaking. so i made short films at uni also a documentary for my graduation project! so that’s why i was on a hiatus for 3 years (and only came back during summer break) haha i was really busy editing with premier pro lmao my uni life was really busy.

36.  Graphic makers, how do you get started on a graphic? (How do you get an idea!)

it depens on what’s the material i’m about to edit, like if it’s a teaser pic or a screencap from an mv. sometimes the music video alone gives me an idea of what i want to do, they are also harder to edit (because a teaser pic is like a super clean hq pic while a screencap could be blurry) but i think it’s more fun! sometimes i don’t even have an idea what i want to make out of it yet, but i start cropping the pic and choose out textures and i start having an idea/inspiration from just a few textures! textures are really important part of gfx imo. choosing the right ones to put together + matching it with the pic you are editing is important too. there are also times when i have an idea long before i start making the gfx, for example for AUs! aus are really different because i know exactly what i want to do and i have to look up resources for it so i’m already planning on how i want the whole thing to look. AUs are soooo fun!! i love making them because you can really use your imagination to the highest ~

37. Gif/graphic makers, what do you feel is a must in every gif/graphic?

for graphics i think you must have your own vision/style. if you want to be recognized, having your own style or own lil something to add (it could be unique colours, unique way of placing things or using textures or using fonts in a special way) is always a huge thing! that’s what i always try to do with my own works c:

I love and read the shit outta Cyrano; I’ve re-read it 4 times so far.) And now I also have fucking nursing books right now because I had the brilliant, dumpster fire idea to go to nursing school. 2.) My wittle Windows Surface RT tablet! I got her as a surprise Christmas gift from my friend’s family just this January! I gave her a pink screensaver (wallpaper), and so I thusly named her “Pinky”! (Her freakin’ charger had to be replaced, tho. And I gotta take her to Geek Squad ‘cause her keyboard acting up next...grrr...) 

3.) Posters! I’m a huge, huge black gal nerd and proud of it! I have 3 Spider Man posters (well, one is really a calendar from my 13th birthday party, but shush), a Sailor Moon poster, a Lego Batman movie poster, a Transformers: Bumblebee poster, a Monster High poster, a Marvel characters poster, 2 Falcon (Sam Wilson, baes) posters, and finally one Tuskegee Airmen poster!! 

4.) Makeup. Uhh...I’ve been told that I have a pwetty face shape and I’ve been told that I’m pretty good at using makeup to softly highlight my features. Uhh...I get compliments. That’s all I know. ‘M just here. 

5.) More books. 

5 Things I’ve Always Wanted to Do

1.) Travel, travel, travel! Especially wanna go to Paris, France (I’m a huge ass romantic sap). And recently, I wanna go to Disneyland and spend a whole mortgage payment and then some just to finally hug Princess Tiana. 

2.) Write at least, ehh...30 to 50 fanfictions. Wanna make a whole library for you all. 

3.) Take a ballroom dance/waltz class. I wish to whirl ‘round and ‘round the ballroom. 

4.) Play Super Mario Kart Brothers, or whatever the hell it’s called. I’ve never owned a game console (I be broke & so I’ve only ever had books and Sims on my PC), so that’ll be a novel experience for me! 

5.) More traveling. 

5 Things That Make Me Happy

1.) Thinking hopefully about the future. Honestly, it’s the main thing that keeps me going. I think about what a mostly great career I’ll have as a nurse (I’ve always wanted to go into healthcare, but never even dreamed that I’d be an RN). I think about my lil chute-chute of a car that’ll be all mine. I think about my time that’ll be all mine. 

2.) Watching cartoons, especially old ones from my childhood. Ya’ll, prolly about 98% of what I watch is literally cartoons. I’m learning not to beat myself up about that/call myself immature. Like...if that’s the worst thing I do to cope with life right now, then ain’t nobody getting hurt. 

3.) My wittle entitled white boy of a cat, Dante. Sweet baby boy has gotten me through many a hard day and night.

1.) I have a vivid, surrealistic imagination. One of the most common complements I get on my fics is along the lines of “This was so vivid that I could picture everything so clearly! I could smell that scent, I could see them dancing!” or “You painted such bright, beautiful pictures in my head-I could see and understand everything so easily! It was like I was right there in the scene!”

The...slight problem that this causes, tho? I can’t turn the strength of my imagination off...and so I can’t watch horror movies. I am 25-years-old and I can’t watch horror movies and I don’t think that’s going to change any time soon. It’s all just as real, just as vivid, just as valid to me and I take on the emotional tones of the movie just as easily as if I were watching Brandy’s Cinderella or Rugrats in Paris: the Movie.

I become terrified & affronted when I’m tryna listen to music on YouTube and a fucking ad comes on first for a horror movie and I smash that “Skip Ad” button as quickly as I can-lately, it’s been It and I just...ugh. Ya’ll, not everyone can handle horror movies. 

It’s not kind. It’s not good. 

2.) Umm...I wanna cuddle Bucky Barnes. Like, if I could cuddle Bucky Barnes one day, my life would be complete and I’d need no more fulfillment. Just...lemme cuddle Bucky Barnes and all will be right in my world. 

3.) I am an avid tea drinker! I especially love to drink tea when I’m working hard-be it at writing or homework! I drink plain English breakfast tea, lemon-ginger tea, Constant Comment tea, Jasmine green tea, plain green tea, English black tea, french vanilla tea, and just about every other kinda tea you can imagine! Yep, yep! 

4.) I grew up and still live in the south, but I got my parents’ northern blood. So I love, love, love, love, love and prefer the cold. You can betcha ass that I’ll get up a 5am in the morning just to go for a walk in the freezing, pre-dawn morning. It’s like a soft, soothing winter wonderland and I love it! 

5.) I am a proudly self-professed romance sap...but I couldn’t give less than a shit about sci-fi. I’m just...not a sci-fi person. At all. You gotta put some black folk up there in them stars before I think to care.

1. Why did you choose your URL?

It’s actually a mash of my name (I have a “x” in my name) and I am very attached to a part of it so mix them together I get rux! Then the number is just because they are my favorite number (which maybe because there’s my birthday numbers but I say that I quite like numbers and 36 is such a cool number because it’s a square number and is divisible by 3, 4, 6, 9, and 12) Why did I include them in the first place? Well “rux” was too short so I added my favorite numbers haha

You are on it right now! This side blog is for all my personal rambling and reblogs of stuff I like that isn’t fandom related. The main is currently for dcmk and my art, tho I’ve been getting into Arknights as a fandom recently so maybe it is subject to change

I made this account around November last year for DCMK secret santa but have lurk around for…3-4 years (I used to bookmark all the accounts that I follow and visit like every fortnight lmao)

I wanted to join some events (DCMK secret santa - I’m looking at you) so I made a Tumblr. Didn’t expect to be very much into

(MAIN) Because it’s him. I just love him. Whenever I see him I just hype myself so much with the image I have of him in my head and canon that I always smile. And that is imo one of my best drawings - I aspire to reach that state again

(SIDE aka current) She's one of my favorite character in Arknights. And that's my fanart of her hehe. The top spot belongs to Thorns tho now even if I don't have him yet.

I just don't feel comfortable using pfp that aren't made by me because I'm scared I'm going to get sued or smth

7. Why did you choose your header?

(MAIN) I really really like the texture. Currently using medibang and texture just isn’t the same, so I used that. Something warm colour would also be nice.

(SIDE) I think this is from... one of the conan OPs - the skylight? Well it's more for being matchy matchy colours and mood with the pfp hehe

8. What’s your post with the most notes?

So it turns out to be this one with some angst. I do plan to make a sequel to it (one happy end and sad end) but we shall see.

Used to be every other day or lesser? But after going offline from Twitter for some time, I find it hard to get back into it because it can be cluttering - still on there tho sometimes haha. But Tumblr became default. Now everyday but not that long.

I really don’t like them - I get super nervous seeing them that I just get off the platform. Unless It’s something I agree with and is important.

1. Why did you choose your url?

... i unfortunately looked up the lyrics to get away by verivery at 4am in the morning when i was fragile™ and fell down a hole i was not emotionally prepared to ... and then decided to make my whole personality online about it :D idk get away is neat and my url is canon

this is technically a sideblog ... it used to be where i dumped my multi group rbs but then it became an x1 blog, and when x1 d*sbanded it went back to multi and then dormant until now... 

i also have @haknew my tbz blog ^^ and what i consider my “main” blog now just bc i’m most active there... and then @sunnhoon for enhypen ! my main @hearttoshu is for seventeen but i don’t use it all that much anymore >.< i also have some inactive sides that i won’t list tho lmao

hmm i was on tungle before i was a kp*ppie but idr how long ago that was so i think i made my main blog maybe 4 or 5 years ago ?
