Re: Tumblr account termination

So, after a few months since the blog wipe, I can confirm the following pros and cons about losing and restarting a Tumblr blog.

Note: weighing in that my memory is not good / pretty bad.

Pros:

Easy to detect whether I already reblogged something before, since I need to only look for dates after Oct 24, 2023.

Fresh start, definitely feels good.

All cringy old posts from younger and less mature me are gone with zero effort.

Cons:

DMs and all chat history gone. Who was I talking with? What was the last thing we talked about? If since my account loss we no longer talk because of this, I'm sorry for that.

Block list gone and forgot who were on it, but can be a pro as well.. fresh new start.

All fics and posts that had a :readmore: cut from the older editor and were reblogged can no longer be seen fully.

Posts that were not reblogged by anyone are just gone, rip.

My comments, reblogs and asks vanished from everyone's blogs and inboxes as if I never existed. If I ever gushed about your fic or fanart in reblogs and my comments are gone - I'm slowly redoing it all, but it takes a while hah.

I'm still immature and cringe.. but at least I start again from scratch.

Conclusion: Not ideal, could be worse. Have a great day y'all!

My general feeling on The Stolen Heir/The Prisoner’s Throne is that I liked, I had a great time, I LOVE Oak and Wren to a degree that is perhaps embarrassing and maybe too personally revealing, BUT. My only overall thing was that throughout both books, everything felt a little crammed and rushed. I think the story could’ve had me by the THROAT if there was more time for it to build up, to breathe, to really let things develop.

But also Cruel Prince is one of my fave series of all time so it’s a tough act to follow and given that high expectation really my issues are more quibbles

I did a digital detox for a month back in summer and it was genuinely the best thing. doing various things online can magically fill (steal) up a chunk of your time and literally provided you zero enrichment and you sit there so convinced that bc your kinda enjoying what you’re watching or scrolling through, that it’s fun and kinda worth while for inspiration or whatever and it’s just not. now, i didn’t reintegrate limited SM use properly so, being mostly back to the same habit but with way more awareness is…yeah. There’s something about slowly consuming media and letting it marinate in your brain without scouring the net for something new to watch/listen to/scroll past that is quite healing. Might do another detox and reclaim my time soon.
