Author’s note: Somewhat similar to the Atlantean story but this time reader is an adult and from Talokan, should I do a reader from Wakanda next?

Masterlist

You had landed on Pandora with your group, ever since the War between the Wakandans and the Talokans things haven’t been the same. You had left earth and explored some planets, to find better materials for better weapons. The technology back home was one of the bests, but the Wakandans were not dumb. Once your team was done with you all boarded the ships to leave. While on the air, something had been wrong with yours, you couldn’t explain what it was but you had to get out of the ship fast, if you didn’t you’d explode along with it. The only thing you got was your spear and an extra mask then jumped out just in time as it exploded. You had landed on the ocean, the problem was that now your team won’t be able to locate you due to your ship’s destruction.

You decided to look for a village or something, you weren’t going to just stick around in the ocean. So you began to swim, you took your mask underwater to swim better and able to breath the water. You swam for hours and hours until you had spotted a village, hopefully they’d help you. So you put your mask on and swam towards the shore. Then the villagers had spotted you, some began to circle you as you approached, others ran around to get other’s attention. Now you were standing in the middle of a crowd, of both children, teenagers and adults. They were eyeing you, seeing your blue skin, the jade earrings, the gills on your shoulders that were covered with the same breathing device. Not to mention your amour, your height, your different form of attire and you had your spear in hand. They didn’t miss your lack of tail, wide arms and wide eyes. The villagers had mumbled amongst each other. 

Until you were then approached by who you assumed where the leaders, a male and female. They had greeted you with their own greeting sign, while you did your own. “What is someone like you doing here?” Ronal had asked, which you responded “I’ve come very far, I don’t have a clue of where I am.” You said as the Female with tattoos surrounded you, walking around you to get a better look. She did not miss your blue skin, your gills that laid on your shoulders. “Where are you from?” she asked. “I am from the underwater city known as Talokan.” You said as you felt her touched your bone like armor then moved to your leather wrapped arms. “Hm, we have never seen anyone like you, ever” she said letting go your arm. “All I ask is for some refuge, I leave as soon as possible.” You had asked, this made Tonowari and Ronal looked at each other then at you.

“Hm, how are we sure that you won’t bring trouble?” Tonowari asked, not missing your spear. Then you got down on one knee, placing your spear down and faced down. “Me and my people come in peace, we’d hate to cause any trouble. I will not bring any trouble, and if any trouble is brought, then I will take full responsibility.” You said looking down, then Tonowari and Ronal looked at one another again, having a silent conversation, then they spoke. “You are to stay, but you’ll have to learn our ways, you will be treated as a sister here.” Tonowari said as you looked up at him. Bowing your head once again and thanked him and his mate. He had instructed his children Ao’nung and Tsireya to teach you. 

They had been kind enough to give your own Marui. It was different from your home back in Talokan, since you lived underwater where majority of the time it was dark, but it was nice feeling the sun on your skin.

You also got to know the leader’s family, his wife, Ronal, his son Ao’nung and his daughter Tsireya.

They often asked you question about Talokan and how the city underwater was compared to the one on the surface. The Tsahik was interested in your beliefs of a deity, you had told her your worshipped multiple deities, but the god you worshipped the most was the one known as  Ku'ku'lkán, The feathered serpent god.

You told her everything about your people’s history, from living on the lands to now under the sea. You’ve also mentioned her about Namor who is a demigod who represents Ku'ku'lkán, who is also the King of Talokan. 

Tonowari had been interested on your skills of combat and other skills you may know. When he had asked about what kind of creatures you rode, you told him that you didn’t ride an animal most of the time but you would ride a Killer Orca.

You had learn about their marine life, it was much more different then the one back home. They rode animals such as a Skimswim or an Ilu, well the Skimswims were more for the Adults and the Ilus for the children or teens.

Both their children Ao’nung and Tsireya would be the ones to ask you loads and loads of questions about Talokan. If you guys had a certain ability only you could do.

That was when you told them that your singing can attract people around you, Ao’nung wanted to see but you didn’t want to it would be a good idea.

Tsireya had thought you their form of sign language, another form of communication underwater. They couldn’t talk underwater like you.

When you’d take off your mask underwater, your skin would change another color, which caused both the interest of in Tsireya and Ao’nung. When they asked you about it, you told them the whole history and the reason why your skin changes from blue to another under water.

Since they had taught their sign language, you decided to teach the Yucatec. It was easy for them to learn since they thought it was almost similar to Na’vi.

You had loved the ilus, they were very precious animals to be around. Even though you couldn’t bond with them, you still swam with them or played with them. The Skinswim were a bit aggressive but you still tried to hang around them.

Some time had passed and their was no sign of anyone on your team, no one seemed to come looking for you.

You began to loose hope, that they were not coming for you, the must have assumed you were dead since your ship exploded and their was no way you could find every piece to put it back together. 

That night you had talk to Tonowari and Ronal about your doubts, they too had also noticed that their was no sign or anyone coming for you. Since you have spent time with them and not cause any trouble, they had allowed you stay permanently. You didn’t expect them to allow you to stay, which you were glad that you had found a new home, you will miss Talokan but who knows how long you’d be able to return.  For the time being, you began to act more like them, but you still stuck to your origin. You could live underwater but you preferred to live on the surface just like the rest of the people. Every now and then you’d go for a swim without your mask. Ever since you began decided to stay, both Tonowari and Ronal had began to get closer to you. They were the ones to teach you more about their culture and other things. 

It began with gifts, handmade gift. You’d often receive either a necklace, an anklet or a headpiece. You believed they were friendly gifts but you had noticed that gifts kept coming and coming. You knew who they were from since they were always delivered to you by both Tonowari and Ronal who’d give them to you. This gestures began to make you develop feelings for the couple, but you decided to return the gesture. When you’d go to hunt for food, you’d come back with a huge catch and give it to the family, saying that you caught it and that they should eat it. Next was a bracelet that you had on, it has been in the family for generations, made with jade and the string of the plant that made your skin turn blue. You had gifted to the couple as a Thank You gift for letting you stay. You’d also notice how one of them would wear it some days. 

 That afternoon you had been in the marui of Tonowari and Ronal, they had been asking you something about how you felt and how things had been going on since your stay. You admitted that you loved being in the village, that you felt as if you had never left home. What you didn’t expect was what came next, turned out that both the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik had grown feelings towards you, this caught you by surprise since you never expected two being to fall for you. You also had grown feelings for the couple, but you knew that your feelings should never be since they’re mated for life from what you heard Tsireya mention. At first you weren’t sure if it was okay but they had mentioned that it was your choice to make, that they weren’t going to force you into anything, but you had accepted them. Afterwards they had talked with both Ao’nung and Tsireya about your new relationship, this was new to them since they’ve only ever just seen their two parents, but now you had been added. They had no problem since it was yours and their parents relationship. You had moved in to the family’s Marui the next day.

Ronal had encouraged you to wear their attire of clothing, at first you weren’t so sure since their attire was a bit different from yours. You were basically covered up while they showed almost everything, you did dress like them in way that was comfortable for you.

Just like before, Ronal likes to be the one to weave your clothes. In return you’d also make sure some things using whatever materials you could find around the beach. 

You’d weave your own clothes but added both Metkayina and Talokan cultures together, Ronal had been the one to help you make your attire. She knew that you still believed in your gods, but she also had taught you about Eywa and other things.

Tonowari had learned about your hunting skills and your hand to hand combat. He had wanted you to show him what you could do, which you did. He was impressed how someone of your size had manage to bring such a big man down.

Since then he had began to spar with you more with the excuse that you should learn more skills. But you know full we he likes it when you kick his ass.

One day he had decided to take you on a ride on the Skimswin, at first you scared since you aren’t used to flying, but it turned out to be fun feeling the air hit your face.

When you’d go for a swim, they’d also go with you or if the both can’t make it together, one will go with you. They liked to see how your blue skin into your natural skin. 

Since you’re shorter than the couple, Tonowari somewhat teases you for it. Not in a mean way but in cute way, he finds your height since. Ronal comes to the recue if Tonowari keeps teasing you. 

You had meet the Tulkun who by the looks of it, they resembled whales, but different. Turns out they were considered the Metkayina’s brothers and sisters. Back home you’d consider all marine life as your brothers and sister since you both shared the same ocean. 

You had met both Tsireya’s, Ao’nung and Tonowari’s spirit sister and brothers, along with Rao who had been pregnant at the time. 

When the Sullys had arrived, you were with Tonowari to greet them. They were caught by surprise seen someone like you living amoung them. They had asked for refuge, but both Tonowari and Ronal had a bit of an issue, since Jakesully was involved with Surface dwellers and his family was in danger.

Ronal did not want them to stay since she fears that they might bring their war here, but Jakesully was done with war, and he wanted to keep his family safe from danger.

You and Tonowari then made eye contact with Ronal, to try and come to agreement involving them staying, but Ronal looked at you a bit longer then finally agreed. 

Back at the Marui, you, Ronal and Tonowari had a talk about the new Family. She explained that she did not want their problems coming over here, but you told her that they won’t to try and ease her nerves. 

She had then decided to give them a chance to at least adapt like the rest of the people.

A fandom thing that brings me great discomfort is the assumption that "all" queer fans are naturally going to flock around a single ship, and if you don't see it happening you're definitely straight and possibly homophobic. Those are some wild things to assume!

(I'll note a bit of added context here: I don't participate in Twitter fandom, so Discord and Tumblr are my main exposures to character and ship discourse, and AO3 and Livejournal and fansites are the current and past places I've consumed fic. When I'm into a show, I tend to read widely in the main tags even if I usually gravitate towards one or more favorite ships.)

In my current fandom, my inclinations are mostly centered around a m/f ship as well as multi-shipping a variety of monogamous and poly ships (many/most of which are queer). This is a bit of a departure from most of my previous fandom experiences, which have been centered around very subtextual f/f ships in fandom spaces where the fic-writing and discourse is nearly entirely centered around femslash. My corner of this current fandom includes tons of queer fans (of which I am one), as well as plenty of fans who don't identify as queer. In all the fandom spaces I'm in and in all the pairings (and gen fic) I enjoy from this show, there tends to be a lot of nuanced exploration of gender and sexuality, including explorations of queerness, including within transformative works about that popular m/f ship.

Over the last few weeks, I've watched the ship wars in my fandom, which used to be largely focused around that m/f ship I happen to love, kinda shift into what I think is a bit of an emerging-from-within defensive campaign for a popular m/m ship.

(Some more context: I have zero interest in engaging in ship wars. I believe all ships with adult characters are valid ships. I am invested in what will happen in the canon of this show, but "endgame" has never been the driver for my participation in any fandom, and I'd be shocked if I don't continue to create transformative works about my favorite ships for months and years to come regardless of what happens with the show. I personally don't adore the popular m/m ship, although I definitely see the chemistry and for most of the time this show has existed, I've appreciated the enthusiasm for the characters and the ship even if it's not my cup of tea. I enjoy both characters and their canonical relationship, and completely understand why the romantic ship is very popular.)

I find it genuinely kind of funny and amusing that for ship war participants fighting for basically any ship within this fandom, the arguments they experience from antis are incredibly similar--for character x and character y to get together, or for character x and character z to get together, it would be cliche, it would be tired, it would be unnecessary, we already have plenty of rep like that, or there's no way these characters could make sense as rep like that, there's nothing in the text that supports this ship, etc.

What feels newer is this insinuation that to opt out of shipping a particular thing means you are unable to see it. If you just don't prefer it or don't predict that it will happen in canon, that must mean that you believe the people who do see it happening are delusional, and therefore you are the enemy.

And attendant with that viewpoint is this idea that there are only two options in media: "the" queer ship will go canon, or the entire show is a big queerbaity setup. Does queerbaiting exist? Yes! Is it happening right now? No! Queerbaiting is, essentially, a broken promise from creator to fan.

The reason all this bums me out try as I might to ignore it and continue having a grand time is multifold: it's a gender thing and a rarepair thing and a thing about ship-as-campaign that saps the fun and joy out of (sub)text and text and the beautiful mystery of watching a story unfold faster than anything.

The gender thing: the show I'm talking about has a character who identifies herself as bisexual in the first season. Do I want more about that story? Do I think that story could and should take up more space? Yes! But is it there? Absolutely. And it's been disheartening to see people either ignore her completely or chalk this part of the story up to "lame jokes" as if humor and flirtation are less-than or inauthentic ways to engage with one's sexuality. It's disheartening to hear people talk about how they hope this show will have its first queer representation when there's been a queer woman on the show the whole time.

The rarepair thing: fic writers, presumably of every orientation under the sun, have been creating very queer fic about a multitude of characters on this show (including, notably, characters who are women) this whole time. There are queer pairings with twenty or fifteen or even three, two, or one stories in their tag. And it feels like lately all these pockets of fandom, regardless of what we've been writing, are getting lumped into this generic "straight" soup of people who lack the vision for the thing that's now "the" thing. But the things that made me want to write queer fic (and, yes, m/f fic) about all these characters, including one of the characters who is part of the popular m/m fic, are things I picked up in the source material, too.

The ship-as-campaign thing: it's exhausting. And it takes something that's pretty inherently queer--the communal act of engaging with a text and transforming it in a million beautiful (or depraved, or silly, or gross, or genre-defying) ways--and splinters it into factions. And assumes stupidity (or outright bigotry) on the part of those who don't see it the exact same way you do. Of course there's bigotry in this fandom, and among casual viewers. It's shit. So why invent more of it that isn't there when we could all focus on eradicating what is there? I don't think there's anything wrong with hoping fervently that you get to see the love story you want to see play out onscreen. That's absolutely how I feel. It's the way this stuff gets treated like a political platform that needs to do numbers to win...that's what bothers me, regardless of which ship it's about.

This has gone on way too long and I very easily might end up regretting making this post, which is very obviously about the thing it is about. If you reblog it, do NOT use it to campaign for any ships or belittle anyone for enjoying the ships they enjoy. PLEASE. Every single one of the ships is great and interesting and worthy of being explored by fandom, and you're selling fandom and community and queer culture short if you assume all the queers have to go in one room and all the straights have to go in another. We can be excited about the things we're excited about without making those hurtful assumptions and making ourselves miserable over a thing that is actually extremely cool.

Our ships: We are a polyshipper and a multishipper. We ship multiple characters together in the same context, in the same relationship, in the same fics etc.

A "ship" for us does not equal in OTP or an ideal relationship. We use the word "ship" to denote any romantic or sexual relationship between two characters, even when that relationship is unhealthy, toxic, twisted, and bad for one or both participants. Ships are a narrative tool, not something aspirational. 

Plurality: We are a plural system– many people living together in one body. We have been plural since we were children, and we have been blogging about our plurality for 15+ years.

Please do  not use psychiatric or pathologizing terminology for our plurality. We do not refer to ourselves with terms like DID, alter, or introject, and our system members do not have defined roles.

ultimately to me it only depends on the ship dynamic itself? I enjoyed the ship in Canis: Dear Hatter, but it's not because of the age gap. I also will get kinda dissuaded if one of them isnt an adult but the other is when they first meet

oh boy me and my gf for real. we met through killugon and codependency really is killugon. It can be extremely cathartic to see it in fiction to me

it really depends on who handles it. i dont like how reylo does it, but man, This Is How You Lose the Time War is like a masterclass in how to do it. I rate it more favourably cause I think I enjoy the slight forbidden aspect to it? And I can immediately think of more stories that do this well (in the sense that, "enemies" are more like two rival factions and both sides are like equally grey, and your rival just so happens to be your equal, you hold no grudge besides what your faction has told you to believe)

So a poly ship took over my brain for a good 2 years. I'm in the middle of writing a fic about how three people get together, and even researching by picking up The Ethical Slut (which btw is a great read on how to have healthy relationships in general too, it has so much good advice)

It's a personal choice, only because i'm scared of conceiving so i really prefer not to see it in fic. Giving it a -9 cause I do have exceptions in fic (being whether it was recommended to me or whether it's from authors whose work I enjoy)

12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

This is a hard one because the fandom at large likes every arc, it just evens out across the encampments of shippers lol. I feel like the most unpopular arc is probably Glimmer's descent in season 4 which I enjoyed a lot because, I mean, c'mon, getting to see Glimmer not fight with herself and instead just selfishly choose things was fantastic. She really just started doing what she wanted without actually considering anyone else or any other options, and it was so fascinating to watch her go for it after several seasons of this side of her being hinted at.

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom?

We can WAAAAAY too much about shipping and want to make it everyone's problem.

"That isn't canon!" "I don't think there was enough subtext!" Blah blah blah, and?????? Shut the fuck up my dude.

Stop tagging your anti-whatever shit with shipping tags, block that tag on your side and move along. I don't care why you think C/A is abusive, I don't care why you think A/G is abusive, seriously shut up or keep it in your corner of the fandom.

I've been in fandoms that break down into smaller fandoms (star wars is by era ususally, zelda is by game, etc) and every fandom I've been in has done a good job of keeping their negative opinions contained to spaces where it's others who share it. She Ra is the first fandom I've been in, and I've been doing this 20 years now, where people really couldn't live and let live because they like this ship and if you don't then you're an awful abusive asshole to fit their narrative of victimhood.

I'm sick of that shit. To death.

You want to know what one of my favorite rarepair crackships is? Catra/Bow. But if I dared to explore it at all, in any fashion, I'd be murdered. The only fic I've ever taken down due to harassment after posting what an explicit Catra/Bow/Glimmer fic where they, as two consenting adults in a poly relationship, agreed to have sex with one another in large part to turn on their girlfriend Glimmer for her birthday. TERFs found that and gave me hell.

Like, you could probably find some of the really awful and explicit shit I posted when I was 13 and had no fucking business writing explicit fic or posting it, but now I'm locked out of my old accounts and can't actually remove them. But no, let's go wild over the C/B/G fic instead!

Ooooooo, you can probably tell that this pisses me off just because I keep rambling on, but god I'm tired. I'm a multi-shipper, ship what you want to, tag it appropriately and post in appropriate spaces kind of person. Don't like, don't read, and fuck off with your purity bullshit.

...This is pervasive enough that I'm actually fully expecting some people will unfollow me for that answer lol.

13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character? (Entrapta and Catra)

I feel like I don't have any unpopular opinions about Entrapta over all? Probably the most controversial thing is that I like that the Princess Alliance was shown mistreating her by leashing her. It's very much portrayed for laughs, but whether they meant to or not think it helped set up another difference between the alliance and the horde. Yeah, at first she's chained up in the Horde as a prisoner and we see how long that lasted, but she is literally given more trust and freedom with the horde. Where's Entrapta? Who knows! As long as she shows up again at some point we don't care. Is she distracted by tech again? Annoying, but alright she IS the tech person. Then Entrapta goes back to the alliance and once again they are just trying to control parts of her because they don't understand. IDK, I like the contrast of it, so even though it wasn't put in respectfully it gets a weird pass from me.

Unpopular but not in the circles I run? Catra did more than enough for a "redemption" on the show. It is amazing how many people hate that take.

Unpopular within the circles I run? Not sure this counts or not, but Catra really is a lot like Shadow Weaver/Light Spinner, and I don't think we lean into that nearly enough (either in the show or fandom tbh). Light Spinner especially really reminds me of Catra in early seasons, and seeing S5 Catra by the end is like seeing what Light Spinner could've been under different circumstances. But Catra is also a lot like Shadow Weaver, she is not wrong or lying when she says she sees herself in Catra. I think we spend too much time trying to justify why Catra is nothing like her, when they are really very similar. And I think that's a big disservice to the narrative of abuse in the show. No one wakes up one day saying, "Well gee golly, today I think I'm going to start being an abuser!" They slide into it and eventually start making justifications to themself for why it's okay/they're allowed/whatever to do what they do. Catra could've been the next Shadow Weaver easily, pretending otherwise lessens the impact of her choices to try and change her own behaviors and thoughts.

15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?

The best friend squad is boring. Sorry y'all, S1 and S2 of the BFS are really not that interesting to me. It feels super basic, and the conflict has to be shoved onto them from other sources to have their dynamic work. I think there should've been more infighting and especially with Glimmer jealousy issues. Like, you don't have to go wild with it or anything, but they only start to become interesting to me in S3 when Shadow Weaver starts fucking shit up in the background.

They are cute and fun and I enjoyed their stuff! They just! Are also! Really boring!

(I used to actively filter out any fic that was too focused on the BFS, Glimmer, or Bow. At times I even blocked Adora because I live for the personal conflict drama and that was only even explored with Catra during S1-2)

STAR WARS

15.Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?

I like that TCW never really talks about the way the clones are treated. TCW is mostly set from the perspective of the Jedi Order in some way, and I wish there had actually been more jokes made in show about it to be honest. The way clones are treated is horrifying, objectifying, and disgusting. I wish we could've seen more of how awful they were treated side by side with how no one seems to care.

Yes, the Jedi care about the clones, but they are so busy trying to survive themselves that there's nothing left in the tank to try and help them out in a meaningful way. Some members of the Senate care about the clones, but they are either focused on other peoples lives or are too afraid of losing their army to do anything. I love that. I love how fucked up that is, and I love that there are so many times in TCW that something horrible happens to a clone but then gets overshadowed by something else.

The citadel, of course comes to mind. I really love that there were troopers who died horrifying deaths during that rescue, who's bodies are left behind, who are quickly mourned through a wince and then abandoned. Then a Jedi dies and "Well hang on now, we gotta carry his body and give him a proper farewell!".

It's messed up, and I love it.

it'd be pretty under wraps from the overall promotion and teasers, people would know she was in it, probably know the character name, but aside from that no one would be none the wiser until they watch it unfold the way it will in my prologue for Through The Mist 🤗

who the fandom ships them with -

full on ship wars, bestie. there would be three camps - the ones who ship her with Obi Wan ("bEcAuSe It's FaTe DuH!"), the ones who ship her with Khaii ("bUt HeR hEaRt ChOsE hIm!!!1!") and those who will eventually be happy she had two great loves in her life. And probably a few people holding out for poly action and being cross, because there isn't any. And yes that is full on what I want from people reading this story 😈

beautiful and badass, Jabba's palace outfits are fire, mind reader, so happy Obi Wan doesn't have to live the lonely desert hobo life anymore, also more girls in Star Wars yay!

Jedi have the force why do we get kinda sorta quarter jedi now? She should have cut Khaii off after chosing Obi Wan, she can't make up her mind and keeps stringing the guys along, nobody wants love triangles anymore, also probably sth sth slut shaming

what the cast relationship would be like -

LoVe Is In tHe AiR 🎶 making anything Star Wars is the dream to begin with, but this cast also gets along really well and has almost too much fun together. Fans practically eat up every bit of BTS footage, because it's filled with fun and and love and laughter. You wouldn't think adults that age could be this childish around each other and it's a glorious thing to behold.

what was their audition scene -

both her audition scene and her chemistry test with Ewan were the moment she realizes that Obi Wan erased her memory of their first encounter and confronts him with it. She also did a chemistry reading with Jason that was Inara'a and Khaii talking the morning after what they both think was him finding her wandering the desert.

She holds brenna’s chin while kissing her.  Riley: straight on the lips. Or the forehead if you song ship stozier. -ok, I am a huge fan of Sarah+Riley....but then there is Edith. Poly??? Possibly

-definitely the least insane of all the losers, but girl knows how to have fun!

-not a huge smoker, but occasionally will share one with Bradley. 

-the friendship between McKenna and Bradley is impeccable. They are a badass duo. 

-I don’t know what her sexuality is. She definitely doesn’t. Although she and Jill got caught making out in a closet. They said it was no strings attached....suspicious.

-she is indeed vegan. She just has a special love for animals and can’t bring herself to eat them. She isn’t protesting everyone to go vegan, she just eats how she wants. She occasionally slips and goes for ice cream though😉

-at the rock war, after she recovered a little from Bowers, SHE BEAT HIS ASS!

-my queen, gosh I love her!

-she is so much fun to be around. One time, in the barrens, she installed a swing so she could sit in somethin because Riley and Edith and Sarah are always in the hammock together. (It’s bound to break).

-ok, so this looks very soft girl, but Edith is fiery!  -her mom makes her worry a lot about disease and what not, but her anxiety about what her mom may do is worse. 

-seriously, she is scared of her mother. She doesn’t even know if her sickness are real. 

-anyways, don’t fuck with her. She will bite you. 

-no seriously, she will bite you. One time in a fight with Hockstetter, she bit him. She was worried she might have gotten something in her mouth, but Sarah calmed her down.  -she may bicker with Riley, but really, she loves her. Her and her stupid glasses, 

-anyways, she is a sweetie. She runs track, but as long as Riley is waiting on the sidelines with her inhaler at the end, she is alright.

-kisses tears away. Crying? She will kiss your cheeks and wipe those tears away. She did that when Brenna got cut by Bowers. 

-inhaler? Yes. It’s her little beacon of safety. 

-ice cream and comic books with Riley, bird watching and flower crowns with Sarah are her favorites! 

-doesn’t know her sexual preference, she’s just not straight. 

-butterflies always land on her when she’s outside. One landed on her nose once and Riley and Sarah started rock-paper-scissoring for who got her. (That was long forgotten since Riley is a sore loser.)

Galactic Response Time - Captain Marvel - an at the time MCU canon-compliant gen fic that ran the universe forward and explained how Carol really TRIED to show up for all those other crises that happened, but it turns out most of the major MCU disasters only lasted like three days and space is real big, y'all. Featuring Nick Fury cathartically bitching with his Space Bestie.

New Lands for the Living - Fix-it where the sequel trilogy ends Even Worse, Poe goes back in time to mercy-kill the timeline, and much to his dismay winds up married to just-before-Original-Trilogy Luke Skywalker. He has an existential crisis about his own existence, meets some competent women, and starts fixing things.

Life's Little Pleasures - The Good Omens fic where I put all my ace feelings, featuring metaphysical bonding and good scotch.

Flustered - Another Padme/Anakin/Obi-Wan SW Prequel Trilogy fix-it, where Order 66 never happens. Anakin gets some therapy and Padme gets a horrible crush on Obi-Wan.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do! I love getting to talk to people about fics, and I so appreciate people making the effort to comment I want to spend some time with them! It's so much easier not to comment, I know.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Hmmm this is not my normal wheelhouse. I usually go angst that gets resolved by the end. Let me look to see what the options are.

Okay, I think we've got two contendors: In Waystation an exhausted Poe Dameron crash-lands in a station where a Bodhi Rook that lived and then hid now lives with Baze and Chirrut. There is a little epilgue that implies they're going to meet again, but the bulk of the fic does end with Poe making the decision to go back to the Resistance, and leaving Bodhi behind. Still, I think it's more wistful, rather than angsty.

Time Enough for Mourning takes it though, I think. Davits Draven/Antoc Merrick, that is entirely about Draven mourning the fact that Antoc has died. The end is still, I think, more cathartic than angsty, but it is overall probably the strongest "break out the waterworks" of my fics.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I do occasionally, usually when someone prompts me and I find something in there that makes my brain go!!! I think the strangest is probably The Face Underneath. It's a Cassian Andor/Elim Garak fic where I drag Garak into the Star Wars Universe for a triple drabble series where he is an old mentor of Cassian's.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Mmm, not proper hate. Realtalk, the most devastating one for me was when I posted a fic that the only comment was a spelling critique.

And yes, there was a spelling error, but still, very crushing to have that be the only feedback. (It has since found a few readers that said nice things, very healing :D)

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yes! Uh - consensual, between adults, often M/M adults, tho I have written explicit femslash, hetfic, and poly piles. It's usually affectionate, often plays with power dynamics even if it doesn't go into full dom/sub.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that anyone has made me aware of, I've never looked.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Had a request or two, but never been linked the result - so not sure if it didn't happen or if I just didn't get linked. I welcome it!

I have had several fics podficced, and I LOVE that. What a joy! Making a blanket permission statement that allowed podfic is one of the best decisions I've made as a fic author. Suddenly, Podfic!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Once or twice! I like the idea of doing it, but follow-through is hard. Hoping to do some co-writing soon though, so we will see!

What’s your all time favourite ship?

Sorry, unrepentant multi-shipper here. I like possibilities, and finding the story that will bring people together, more than one specific thing.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I don't have ANYTHING I've given up on, but there are a few fics in my unpublished drafts that were beautiful ideas, and really struggled to become contained stories. They all want to be sprawling things, and I have not felt sprawling-thing-writing passionate about those ideas. But, you never know! Inspiration may strike.

What are your writing strengths?

I'd say character voice, along with that, dialogue. Also humor moments that still have real weight and don't undercut the story, as well as straight comedy writing.

What are your writing weaknesses?

You see, I, uh, do this thing where I don't really end a sentence - I think about ending it, I even assume, at some point while I'm writing that I have ended it; I have not and it meanders, persistently, until I have constructed a whole paragraph made out of one chain of words and a hodgepodge of punctuation.

Also the thing where I accidentally use an unusual word five times in one paragraph because my brain has grabbed onto it like an excited puppy and keeps offering it up as the Perfect Word.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I love having multilingual characters. When writing, I tend to keep all the words in English and use dialogue tags to denote language shift - unless I am inventing the language, or have a speaker of that language willing to beta the bits to make sure I don't mess them up too badly.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Actually wrote and posted? Rogue One.

Fandom of my heart my younger self spun out stories in my imagination about? Where if I had my own computer and easy access to a fic archive they almost certainly would have become spectacularly earnest fics?

ReBoot and Sailor Moon. The Sailor Moon was an AU that took place on the sun and they all had kick-ass horses. Baby Sass knew what was up.

Analysis on Sesshoumaru and Rin's relationship

Sesshoumaru and Rin's relationship to almost all in the Japanese fandom as romantic when Rin comes of age for that time period. Not only do those fans see them as what Americans call it a "Canon" couple but they are well aware of poly-amorous relationships widely accepted back in that time and era. Like how Inu no Taishou (Touga-Ou) had two wives. Where Sesshoumaru's mother was well aware of the human wife and was unphased nor appeared to be jealous. Only hinting Sesshoumaru's taste in humans (about Rin) like his father with Izayoi.

Western Culture VS Eastern Culture

Atleast 20% of the American fandom in my group while it was closed (that means members only) voted SessKagura when I ran the poll in 2019. It was 64 votes and Sesshoumaru romantic with adult Rin had 126 votes.

In a Fanpop poll SessRin had 61% and SessKagura had 39%

While I ran the poll again in 2020 as public and shared it across multiple Western fan groups which is less genuine data I had to check each profile to ensure the votes were genuine (haters tend to happen in any given anime coupling) They are able to vote even though they weren't members. This time I specifically labeled it "Romantic" or "Parental". The results within just a few hours were what I had expected. The romantic portion still surpasses the parental choice.

American Fandom VS Japanese Fandom

The American fandom majority is mostly accepting of Rin being with Sesshoumaru of age. However, the fraction that is more towards him being parental is far more than what the Eastern fandom thinks.

Two administrators of a 13,000 plus members group called Sinosphere (Eastern culture) have both spoken to me about the differences in views.

One stated (Esther Xiao) "I have never heard of this issue ever until I joined the American fandom. I've known about the gift that Rin recieves at the end of the series as an act of courting."

The second admin Hiroyuki said the Japanese viewed Sesshoumaru and Rin easily as a couple of when of age. Courting being much differently than Western and the fact of it's time period.

"Contemporary courtship in Japan is more subtle than dating in the United States. The blossoming of a relationship from friendship to marriage can take years. The relationship begins as friendship, with dates taking place only in public places, typically with groups of friends present. Public displays of affection are frowned upon. The next stage is dating only as a couple, which is done discreetly. Women typically withhold displays of extreme affection and proclamations of love until she deems her suitor is sincere. When the relationship enters the stage of magkasintahan, which means the status of boyfriend and girlfriend, the couple typically makes an announcement to friends and family members, with the suitor asking for parental permission to pursue the relationship.

The man typically brings gifts when visiting the family.”

An extra unaired episode was released on an audio CD only in Japan when you pre-ordered the Final Act. Where Sesshoumaru proposes to Rin. It takes place right after the Final Act’s last episode and it’s called “The Day After Tomorrow”

"Canon"

To Westerners, Canon was a term invented by the Bible.

"a collection or list of sacred books accepted as genuine" To Westerners nothing else is canon except Manga.

In Japan, including the Dragon Ball Z timeline and continuity - Westerners argue that anything in their perspective that is canon is law and real/what happens. The creator of the series himself, Akira Toriyama never used these terms when it came to GT, in fact anything Westerners argued "Canon". Akira Toriyama would state that it would be apart of a side story.

Still very much considered genuine by the Japanese just in a different continuity.

In Japan, Canon is not a term used. If something happens in an anime series it still happens regardless separate reality or not based on storyline. Unless a creator decides to make something in the future that erases the event from a timeline.

Even when Akira Toriyama was re-desigining Broly to fit into the Super series, here’s what he had to say -

“I went ahead and watched the movies from back then, and I felt this could be quite interesting once I rearrange some things. I got right to work trying my hand at a story that incorporates him into the Dragon Ball Super series.”

Star Wars Canon arguments...

Here's where American perspective on Canon fails. If a creator sells of the rights for anyone to use their character in an agreement they are allowed to twist the perspective on story reality. Disney bought the rights to Star Wars and the creator has absolutely no say whatsoever. Disney decides what is "Canon" and what isn't. That is why Americanized "Canon" is solely based on perspective.

Let's be real here, if something is officially licensed and approved it is still apart of continuity in one way or another no matter how you slice it.

By rules that some Westerners are raised to follow when it comes to Sesshoumaru and Rin: If you save someone at a young age they are automatically considered your child regardless by blood. Rin was only with Sesshoumaru for one year and with Kaede for three years.

They are also not thinking of the Japanese culture or time period.

Nisbett hopes that his work will change the way the cultures view each other. “Understanding that there is a real difference in the way people think should form the basis of respect.”

Respecting the time period and Japan's culture. Kagome teaches us that in the series.

In the series Miroku proposes to many young girls even Koharu when she was age 11 in Chapter 147 and Episode 41. But she comes back as a 14 year old. 

At first Sango and Kagome were mad thinking Miroku was perverted with her when she was 11. But he tells them that nothing happened between them. They believed him. Sango was also furiously jealous of Koharu! 

Kagome states "Things were way different back then.” Stating her respect for the time period and culture.

Ayame was the same age as Rin when Kouga proposed to her when she was 8 years old. She grew up, and they got married.

InuYasha is 200 and Kagome was 15. She became 18 then they married.

Rumiko Takahashi’s Fire Tripper - There’s time traveling back in forth from Feudal Japan to Modern Era. The boy Shu was brought in with her family and the girl was sent back in time with him where he thinks that’s his little sister. Then as she’s older she’s back in time once more, he wants to make her his wife then realizes she must be his little sister. But she says they aren’t because they are not related by blood. They get married. Pretty much an the same type of pairing.

Age of consent in Japan.

As you know Rin is 8 years old when she is first introduced into the series. 3 years go by and she is 11. Had been living with Kaede for 3 years since Naraku had been defeated. InuYasha states that it's up to her to decide on "what she wants" in the final chapter.

In the proposal Sesshoumaru states that there is enough time for her to decide.

Back then once you hit puberty that was your adulthood. The world was a much more dangerous place and you had to mature, fast.

The audio episode is officially licensed and produced by the same staff that made the anime but that isn't the only supporting evidence we have that it's accepted by not only the creator and producers.

The character designer and animator for the InuYasha series posted these official artworks of Adult Rin and Sesshoumaru

Rumiko Takahashi wrote strict rules to the animators to follow for each character on what you can/cannot do with them. One of them being, Kagome's skirt must always be covering her underwear.

When you work for a company and produce things you must represent the characters properly so you are not sued. There are rules Rumiko Takahashi gave the animators to properly represent her characters.

To the Japanese, and many Easterners. Sesshoumaru and Rin, InuYasha and Kagome, Ayame and Kouga maturing together - Falling in love with eachother is not an issue.

To a fraction of Westerners it’s led to hate and dis-respect to the time period and Japanese culture. However, even if you don’t like it - Shouldn’t mean you should disrespect one another over it.

Just to answer any questions. Yes I like Kagura and Sesshoumaru, or Adult Rin and Sesshoumaru, Kohaku and Rin. But I can care less who he or she ends up with. I don't even care if they really did end up being father and daughter figure. But from how I see it right now from what we have Kaede adopted Rin. If that's different I'm absolutely accepting of it. I also did tons of research, polls, and asked real Eastern Sinosphere members about how they feel and think about it!

All we know right now for fact that the production team like them as a couple and the kids are half demon.

What do I not condone is the name calling and the people who go out of their way to attack others. I think it's absolutely wrong to hate on eachother over a series we should all be family about. I don't go out of my way to search people's blogs to attack them. There are ships I don't like but I never go and attack them for it. Why would I take away from THEIR happiness?

I’m sure you’re all well aware of the Snowbarry/Westallen ship war. I’ve been trying to think of ways to deal with this as a multishipper who's been a big fan of Snowbarry, WestAllen, SnowWest and their polyship for a while, as even fics seem to often have tones of bashing one ship over the other, or worse sometimes you can't even have content of one without it being attacked.

So, as part of my project for adults in fandom: I thought I would make a server and blog dedicated to harmony of all the ships that involve Iris, Barry, and Caitlin together in various ways.

Morning Kisses - A Loki Series Fanfic

Summary: Mobius contemplates his affection for the craziest sort of beings in the universe, Lokies...

Author's Note: I could only think of that post about how ship wars are stupid and pointless, and when there are 3 or more hot messes, why not ship them altogether. And I guess I feel like these idiots (affectionate) qualify for that. Honestly, not sure where this came from, but it demanded to be written. So here we are.

Spoilers: Nothing specific, but general ones, that these characters exist and whatnot... I have watched the entire first season, so could be inadvertent spoilery details, but really it's just some fluff outside of the canon plotline

Warnings: Allusion to adult situations; kissing... Polyamory/Thruple (if you find that offensive, then this fic is not for you.) Also, I did not do any amount of editing on this (burned out on editing from my original fiction work).

Warmth and peace. It was a good way to wake up, the best way, Mobius decided, snuggling into the body beside him. He couldn’t remember feeling so content… ever. Satisfied with a job well done, yes, but never happy. Always feeling as if something was missing, just out of reach. But not now. For the first time in his memory, there was only the warmth and peace. And Loki.

Well, Lokies… It was hard to think of them as completely different individuals, even though they were. But they also weren’t. But they were. Maybe it was beyond his brain’s understanding, but deep down in his heart or his soul or primal, instinctual being or wherever, he understood them. At least, he understood what they meant to him, the affection he felt for Loki, Lokies, his Lokies.

Head comfortably pillowed on Loki’s shoulder, Mobius enjoyed the moment that found the variants silent, sleeping still, taking the advantage to observe the one he was less certain about. Or rather, was less certain about whether she was certain, about Mobius, about her variant. Because Sylvie could not trust. And Loki could not be trusted.

They were both wrong. Mobius knew this.

He studied Sylvie’s face, for once all the tension of fury and a survivor’s anguish -a Loki’s anguish- undetectable, her face smooth and placid in a slumber she well deserved. It was interesting how she both resembled the variant Mobius had come to think of just as Loki, and also was completely different. They were like two sides of a coin, and Mobius was perfectly fine with the fact that lo-having affection for one was to have affection for the other. They were inextricably linked. And he was tangled up with them both, cosmically, emotionally, physically.

Loki’s hand was tucked under him, had held him and pulled him close as, completely spent, they all had cuddled in to sleep. The man-god-variant-Loki still had his other arm draped around Sylvie, who was curled up on his other side, her cheek resting on his chest that gently rose and fell with his steady, slow breaths.

Of course, Loki had made himself the center, but Mobius knew it wasn’t really the case. At least not on the TVA agent’s side. He was honestly just as intrigued by the woman he’d chased for so very long, the one that brought his Loki crashing into his life, destroying all the lies that had held him prisoner for so long, feeling empty.

Mobius didn’t feel empty any longer, filled with affection for these two crazy, wonderful beings. He could only hope they returned his affection even a little. They’d certainly returned his desire. But they were Lokies, self-proclaimed hedonists. And-

Sylvie was awake, her gaze meeting his. Her eyes were Loki eyes. They all had the same eyes. And yet, different. Like unique cuts of the same gemstone. Hers were somehow harder to read than Loki’s. Mobius took the risk, reached out and brushed his fingertips against the smooth skin of her cheek, cupped her face. There had been plenty of touches, caresses, bare skin on bare skin the night before, but this was different, and he honestly didn’t know how Sylvie would react.

Her fingers curled around his wrist and he stopped breathing, anticipating her pulling his hand away, a small gasp escaping him when instead she slid her hand over his, leaned into his caress, turned her face into it and pressed a kiss to his palm. She looked at him with those gorgeous Loki eyes, so much hurt, so much rawness, so much desperation for love. And then she was shifting, moving closer, and Mobius barely had to move to meet her, brush his lips against hers, feel the flush of warm surprise when she returned the kiss, deepened it. But the most surprising thing was the tenderness.

There had been kisses the previous night, but of an entirely different nature. This was, this was, warmth and peace. And affection. And Mobius reveled in it, kissing Sylvie, leaning over Loki’s chest just above his heart.

They tasted the same. He wondered if they knew that? Rich and heady, their mouths the same sort of silken warmth, their tongues as active and muscular as one would expect from Lokies. And surprisingly, attentive and gentle for supposed self-absorbed beings only interested in their own pleasure. Silvie kissed Mobius like he thought maybe she really did care about him, a lot, maybe even as much as he cared for her, for them.

The kiss waned to a natural end, but Sylvie stayed put, with her fingers playing with the short hair at Mobius’ nape and his hand on her neck, thumb brushing along her jaw. Instead of pulling away, she leaned in to rest her forehead against his. Of all the things Mobius had learned, he treasured this the most; Lokies could be sweet.

“Where’s my good morning kisses?” Loki asked, a pout contorting his pretty mouth but the rest of his face beaming at Mobius and Sylvie, his hands still on each of them, stroking along their backs.

Mobius exchanged a look with Sylvie, who raised her eyebrows, questioning. With a nod of his head, he indicated ladies first and she accepted the invitation, moving in to kiss Loki, who withdrew his hand from Mobius’ flank to take his variant’s face in both hands and embrace her with an affection intensity that was both too intimate to witness and too compelling for Mobius to look away.

His skin tingled with jealously over being abandoned by Loki’s touch, but he did not begrudge Sylvie the attention and adoration of the embrace, merely wanted it as well. And admittedly enjoyed the tenderness and intimacy between the two Lokies. The kiss ran its full course and before Mobius could wonder if it was the appropriate time to get out of bed and slip away, at a loss at what sort of conversation you attempted to have with a pair of Loki variants after you’d spent the night in carnal exploration and bliss, Loki was pulling him into embrace that perfectly mirrored the one he’d just witnessed, the one he’d had with Sylvie himself first.

Loki’s sweet kisses were the same as Sylvie’s. And also different. Mobius could spend an eternity trying to pinpoint the small differences and all the similarities, the way Loki’s fingers stroked the nape of Mobius’ neck just like Sylvie’s, but felt different, large and coarser, the temperature of their lips, the way they favored exploring a specific spot in his mouth with their tongues, the noises of pleasure they made, grunts and moans but in different keys. The way their entire focus narrowed to just Mobius as they kissed him. The desperate need for affection that defined the Loki souls.

He just wanted to give them that affection, to return what they had given him, the completion, the warmth and peace.

The embrace ended, leaving Mobius feeling so happy, he was probably glowing.

“What should we do today?” Loki asked, exchanging a look with Sylvie. They both had smiles twitching in the corners of their mouths.

Mobius frowned in confusion, not in on the joke, the silent communication that existed between two variations of the same being. There was some sort of conversation, struggle happening between them. Then finally, Loki said, “You tell him.”

Sylvie smiled, shone as bright as the brightest variation of earth’s sun, when she turned back to Mobius.

“We’re going to go find Mobius a jet ski.”

Mobius laughed, his heart fit to burst, it was so full of Lokies. His crazy, wonderful Lokies.

storylines for kes, the underrated queen of voyager, that the writers should have used:

the doctor’s program malfunctions or is rewritten to where he insists on medically unethical practices and she has to save the day

just. an entire episode of her caring for her plant bbs

or maybe the plants become sentient and try to take over the ship and she and janeway have to science their way out

she and harry kim take on a new hobby together. shenanigans ensue

the first several episodes of season 1, voyager stays on ocampa to help them build up resources against the kazon instead of leaving them completely vulnerable and basically undermining what voyager did to help them

the men in her life leave her alone for a hot second so she can grow into an adult and lose a little of her naivety without losing her kindness

dumps neelix’s soggy ass and they continue as amicable exes

be’lanna teaches her engineering because kes wants to expand her horizons

more kes and b’elanna interaction pls they have like two scenes together but they’re one of my favorite voyager friendships

per my last bullet point: tbh i loved kes and tom together, kes and b’elanna would be adorable gfs, and tom/be’lanna are cute too so let them be a lil poly trio after kes grows up a little bit pls and thank u

drop her in that episode where seven has repressed memories of being assaulted and instead of the conclusion being that seven misremembered have kes stand up for her and convince the others that they should listen to seven

while we’re on that note kes develops a friendship with seven and completely understands seven having the social understandings of a minor when she’s first disconnected from the collective 

don’t have all my thoughts together here but it could open up a whole discussion about gaslighting, abuse, manipulation and how kes experienced those things as a young woman and how she can support seven healing from her experiences

if we have to write kes out in season 4 then let’s ignore fury altogether and instead see what she was up to when she went super-saiyan in “the gift” maybe she watches over and guides voyager on their journey home and connects with tuvok telepathically every so often

she gets taken by an alien species and by the end of the episode she helps them end their war with a neighboring planet with nothing but her soft smile and the power of empathy

plot twist, ocampas become incredibly strong in adulthood and kes fights the rock with seven

more sagas of captain kathryn janeway space mom 

tldr; i love kes with my whole heart and the writers squandered the potential her character had

honestly replace this scene with sex scene with the eyes on fire song and i’m just watching a repeat of vampire diaries. I’m fucking a chaos bi cryptid and I felt absolutely nothing looking at ben and ryn sushi each other

I could care less about chris and what’s wrong with him, they only bring him back for filler most of the time and how did  he go from not remembering who calvin was to doing a choreographed dance with him, the donna being free explanation was flakey.

xander fucking leveled up this season, literally one of the only things this season did right was giving him a moral compass.

so is maddie just like a work colleague  now because they barely included her in this cannon rescue scene only to end with her to  more or less  be the bad guy to ben and ryn. she was spitting straight facts but the way she talked to ryn was just not MADDIE. Even when she is upset with ryn, there’s always been a gentleness in her tone and it’s just...gone.

I’m going to say it:ben straight up manipulated ryn during the cells scene.  I don’t believe that was the last of the cells, he manipulated ryn to try and get her to keep them.even though they threw them out, I was disgusted with ben. 

this scene with tia and dead guy was boring and predictable. she’s so mean to her own kind what’s she gonna do if she wins this war?  it never works out in the end for dictators of any species.

SO NO ONE TOLD RYN YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO WEAR WHITE TO A WEDDING. WE JUST GONNA SPEED PAST THAT ONE HUH

I know the point of these flashbacks were to show how ryn “didn’t belong” (which is bullshit btw, she was becoming her own person in bristol cove) but for me, it  kinda  looked like ryn was piecing together ben’s addiction to the song and how it was making him act in the present.

this wedding is hollow as fuck, they couldn’t be bothered to even get a scene of janine and calvin’s wedding vows to give them some sort of characterization?

what really pisses me off is that they took a maddie and ryn moment from earlier in the season where maddie explained to ryn the symbolism of wedding rings and gave that to bryn. ryn knows exactly what a wedding ring means,she proposed and he didn’t try to stop her or correct it. this is no longer the polymarine I know. 

i hope xander’s  going to survive. ALTHOUGH I’M SORRY WHAT MILLENNIAL ANSWERS A PHONE CALL FROM AN UNKNOWN NUMBER IN THE YEAR 2020. TIA BETTER LEARN HOW TO PUT HER SONG IN A TEXT SHE AIN’T GETTIN ME LIKE THAT

and this is where I attempt to talk through my anger:this show set up a healthy polyamorous relationship, one where problems were talked through,where careful loving affection between three people wasn’t portrayed as crude or morally deviant. there wasn’t a big coming out reveal, they were just together. 

all couples go through trials and tribulations but this was a chance to normalize a poorly underrepresented pairing and in the span of eight episodes they have absolutely ruined it MADDIE WASN’T EVEN SITTING NEXT TO THEM AT THE WEDDING. what does they say about real life  queer poly couples? ”sorry but only two of you are really in love, the rest are just clinging on until something else deigns to look at you?”  

I’m usually okay ship whatever you want but there have multiple articles,interviews saying that this was a canon couple,a canon couple to be treated with respect. if this season ends the way I think it will,all that will be left is disrespect and a bland romance that this show wasn’t built on which made me tune in the first place.

and the fact that yet another woc lead has been pushed to the side for white leads is bringing me to tears a little bit, I’m not going to lie. I know it’s just a tv show but as a black woman it stings just a little bit harder to see a vibrant lead of color barely present. like let’s be real as we begin to wrap up the season:aside from her subplot romance with robb, what are the other season defining moments has maddie had? because I can name a least five moments for ryn and ben. maddie bishop is a hero in her own right and deserves to be in every major moment, and that’s final. and the fact that the writers have seemingly began to listen to the racism in the siren fandom ( not really here but mostly twitter and facebook) and removed her from most of the action is really disturbing to me. to be blunt,I was positive towards the end of the episode that it was going to be maddie bleeding out on the floor for white pain. 

I fucking love Siren, it has some of the best lore on tv, I don’t feel like a creepy adult watching a teen drama, and I’ve been a fan of this show since the trailer aired.  I’m just so spent. where do we go from here? if this show gets renewed (which I want more than anything), how will it continue? only time will tell.

like i’m not trying to be a hater but like where do we go from here? anyway, I hope anything I wrote made some sense, it’s been a long day and maybe I’m way off base but this is how I feel in the moment.
