as much as i love to bully rin with existential crisis and shit, i still think he'd be the last one to break down - but the first one??? to fall out of line??? to me its definitely eloni

as usual, me rambling under the cut!!

right off the bat, i do like to think a lot about how eloni sees himself as the weakest link of 1010 - entirely because he gets less fans. their entire existence revolves around entertaining, so if he cant even do that, then what's the purpose of him being around and all? its a very unfair way to live but it's not like they were even supposed to have opinions about it. and that's the beginning of his downfall. the fact that his popularity is affecting him on an emotional level when it shouldnt even be a THING. he already feels outdated, defective and more!!!

i also think that eloni is torn between the fear of being caught and the need to be seen. like, this is something brand new that's happening to him. he's an anomaly and one of a kind BECAUSE of these feelings. to a guy who rarely gets the chance to shine???? IMAGINE. IMAGINE WHAT THAT WOULD DO TO HIS ALREADY CRUMBLING IMAGE

like come on guys. there's a reason eloni is always paired up with haym. they're very cute together as a fun duo with fun dynamics, but in boybands, there's always that one guy who only serves to uplift others.

something something, sentience and self-awareness are a nightmare, it sucks that there's no one you can trust wholeheartedly (nym put this into cooler words, go read the linked post! go go go!) and the second you deviate, there's the immediate threat of being reset. all of you? gone. BUT THERE'S ALSO. THE POTENTIAL OF STANDING OUT

yes. he gets little sprouts and vines instead of specific flowers to really emphasize how much of a weak persona eloni believes he has. even if he's found out, it won't be grand. it will be a relief to him (or so he thinks) but he's certainly not going out with a bang. also the green plants blending in with his own designated color? there's another metaphor in there, i just cant put it into words!! small inconspicuous little things that amount to something extremely dangerous and painful!!!!

i imagine eloni sees this hanahaki disease as catharsis, since there's no way he could've ever voiced his feelings, the only way for him to be noticed is through an external force that's extremely hard to ignore. its eating him up from inside out, but in his eyes, it's fine because it gives the world an excuse to look at him

and in the event of yinu's mama straight up outing eloni to neon j or the others, i also think he'd have the most tame, accepting reaction to it? or like, not necessarily accepting, actually but resigned. part of him was anxiously waiting for it to happen, while also dreading this very moment

on the subject of the plant itself and how it coexists with eloni, i think that his vines and sprouts are very small very thin but that they're the most constricting things ever. like, they get EVERYWHERE in his joints. in every crevice and space available. whereas purlhew might instead just have an ungodly and suffocating amount of blue flowers located entirely in his chest cavity until he bursts. or haym might have very localized sprouts and blooms that just. pop. as if attuned to every feeling he's trying to repress. i dont know what zimelu has, but it needs thorns. and rin? well. WELL <3. ITS A POISONOUS PLANT FOR SURE <333

I've been quiet for a bit, but here's my contribution for 10/10 day! Only... a few days late.

All five charms are on a dark blue background with lighter blue stripes on a diagonal angle running down and to the right if viewed from left to right, to distantly resemble a metallic sheen. There are three stripes of color laying behind the illustrations but above the dark background. All three have a gradient of the same pastel green, blue, purple, yellow, and red that are behind the chibis. Only the middle has the same white lines at the same diagonal angle. The top one is medium in width, running behind the shapes of the charm rings. The middle one is the widest, taking up most of the screen and running behind the illustrations, slightly wider than they are tall. The bottom is the thinnest, a third of the width of the top line.

Being Neon J's daughter :

He and his wife always wanted to start a family, but his obligations in the army make it difficult.

When he was called for the border war, he asked the hospital to conserve some samples of his genetic material, so their dream can become true if something happened to him.

The war was unforgivable and murderous, but the thought of finally coming home to his dear wife, settle down and having children kept his spirit up.

After his warship was bombarded, he lost his crew and most of his body. He miraculously survived, but the majority of his body must have been replaced by robotic parts.

When he came back, his wife was crying of relief and pain. Seeing her husband in this state, but alive, put her emotions into a roller-coaster.

After his comeback, they decided to have a child.

The pregnancy goes well, they learnt that they'll be the parents of an adorable daughter. Everything was so perfect. If only it would last forever.

But fate had other plans.

His wife didn't survive the birth, leaving you and your father.

Neon J was devastated, why life must be so cruel. Giving him great joy then pulling him into misery.

But he must be strong. It only you two now, he must be strong for you, to protect you, to make sure his dear wife rest in peace, knowing both of you live in happiness.

It's a this moment he created the first models of 1010.

His passion always was music and dance. So, now that his military carrier is behind him, he'll become the next star of Vinyl City.

You were there when he taught the first models how to dance and sing. It wasn't very good. But your 3 years old self found it funny and loved to clap her hand in rhythm.

The second version of the 1010 was more human like and a little less army lookalike. They were better, but still not very popular because of their looks. And the five of them look perfectly the same, so people didn't really see the point of a band make of only one people multiplied.

The idea of making them in different colors went from you. You sticked stickers on them, with an unique color for each of them. It helped you to remember who was who. You father found the idea brilliant.

And so were made the third generation of 1010. You big brothers.

You loved them, and they loved you. Neon J was so proud of his little family. He hoped his dear wife could see that from where she is.

You takes part of 1010 training routine. You love dancing and your father is an excellent teacher.

You go to Vinyl City Elementary School, but your dream is to go to the military school. The only problem is that your father is formally against it. He refuses that you get enrolled in the army.

It really upset you, but you will prove to your father that you are strong enough to become at great general, like him.

If only you know he refuse because he's scared of what could happen to you. He doesn't want you to go though what he did.

He's kind of protective, sometimes too much.

Your brothers have a protocol named "Y/n's protection" coded deep inside them.

When Neon J isn't here to give them orders, you are the one who gives them orders.

They are not obligated to listen to them, but you're so cute when you act like that. And you never disrespect them, you they play along.

Since your brothers have a sailor uniform, you asked your dad one too.

How can he resist those puppy eyes when you asked him so sweetly "Can I have my own uniform too dad, please."

Now, you look like your brothers!

But you refused to wear the hat. You find it ridiculous.

Your dad works a lot, to the point of exhaustion. So when you saw him sleeping against his desk, you stole his coat and his captain hat and decided to supervised the concert for him.

You are 9 years old. You can do that. And your brothers agree with you. Your dad really need to rest.

You're not afraid of those rock revolutionaries. Let them come, they will see what 1010 is made of.

They will pay for what they have done to your friends' family. And for making Lady Tatiana angry.

They better have come with their tactical thermals goggles, because-

I was gonna just make five nonbinary icons because I love hitting my faves with the nonbinary beam hehee ... but then I sat down to think about their gender identity and got really excited about it, so here's the mandatory ramble !!

Agender Eloni bc I see him struggling a lot with the concept of binary genders due to feelings of inadequacy/not being "enough" of anything to fit in as expected. Or in any way that feels comfortable. Has a very complex relationship with the concept of masculinity, but still shitposts a lot about it, like "Yeah I lack all three G's - girls, gender and guts". The type of queer that would love to go by different pronouns but is too nervous to do it so just shrugs it off bc "it's not that serious"

Nonbinary Haym who enjoys to present as both feminine, masculine and gnc in general but doesn't have any strong leaning towards any gender whatsoever <3 I like to think he's the most comfortable just being constantly perceived as male by the fans because it's part of the job and it's play pretend anyway so who gives a shit

I really like to HC Rin using the transgender flag not bc he's FtM or MtF, but bc he's still struggling to find what exactly feels best for himself - something something about a confident leader not being very skilled when it comes to introspection, something something lack of individuality to ensure order within 1010, etc. ALSO bc I love the fact that no matter how much you struggle with your gender identity, you'll always have the trans flag there for you <3

Thinking about 1010 and sentience.

And the concept of them learning it from Neon himself. Gradually, as their intelligence grew, they began to pick up certain qualities that he has and each one developed their entire beings around different parts of their Captain. The concept of them all just being different versions of a younger, far more impulsive, him.

But to a certain degree, they share certain qualities across all of them. And the thought of one of those qualities being J's paranoia.

Because they were made to perform. They were made to sing and dance and make people swoon, that's all they're meant to do. And they were meant to obey.

They were meant to obey.

Without thinking. Without wanting.

Yet, gradually. Something changes with that. They begin to have different responses to things than they're used to. Different trains of 'thought,' if it can be called that. They begin to have the slightest inklings of urges to question what they're told.

Maybe to the degree of urges to disobey. To hesitate. To want.

And the thought of these new things they begin to feel and urges they begin to have. The thought that they began as behaviors that they copied from Neon long enough that they became a part of them, too, a part of their unique identities.

And yet, even then, they have doubt.

Doubt that it's good for the unit. That it's good for their purpose. Good for their cause.

And it starts to eat away at them, little by little, until they begin to doubt everything.

Can the others tell that I've changed?

Would they tell him if I asked?

Does he already know?

And this worry, this knowledge that in the past they've been reset and overwritten over things far smaller than that. Knowing that he can alter their memories. Take things away if need be.

And it begins to drive them insane.

And they begin to lose faith.

And they begin to lose trust.

Until eventually they hold on to these new sensations and new experiences so fiercely that they choose this new sense of awareness and this new sense of identity over their fellow men.

Over their unit.

Over their captain.

Over their father.

And the thought of them being willing to do anything to keep hold of it. Just to have something that's unique to them. Something that is theirs, something that isn't forced or meant or made or programmed. Something that they own. Something that is a part of them.

And the thought of the first thing they decide to do without being told is run away.

And all of this simply because:

Like father like son.

They were born paranoid.
