You know what low key makes me sad? The scene in Avengers when Fury finds Steve at the gym to recruit him.

Yeah yeah, Steve is glowing and sexy from working out, and his ass looks great in those sweats.... but think about that (not his ass the other thing). He's sweating. Like seriously sweating....

How long was he at the gym, by himself (having fucking flashbacks no less!) to have worked up that kind of a sweat? This is Captain America, its not easy to wind the guy but he is very clearly worn out and drenched here. The poor man has been all alone, taking out all his pent up painful memories and emotions on those bags for fucking hours probably. Then Fury just shows up to talk to him about the very thing he is having ptsd flashbacks about! Just uuuugh I hate it!

Julian and Keiko headcanons because Keiko gets sidelined so much and deserves the world and I wish we got to see them interact more

when they get stumped on their respective projects, they'll do late night work sessions together and bounce their research off each other to see if the other can help them figure out where the problem is. they'll do this in person when theyre both on the station, but also over call if one of them is away, and after the O'Briens move back to Earth

they edit each other's papers (Keiko marvels at Julian's ability to spell out complex chemical compounds with his eyes closed, and somehow use 'their' instead of 'there') (in his defense he wrote that bit at 4 in the morning after going 2 straight days without sleep) (she threatens to sedate him)

Julian sometimes brings back plants from planets they explore in the Gamma Quadrant and gives them to Keiko. sometimes he does it because the plant has medicinal properties and the two of them can do a joint research project, but most of the time he does it just to give her a nice gift

when Miles goes away for particularly dangerous missions, Julian will keep Keiko company and help keep her mind off of it. sometimes she has trouble sleeping because shes so worried, so he'll hang around and start rambling on about whatever he's currently working on until she falls asleep. he jokes he's boring her to sleep, but it actually means a lot to her

they have a weekly tea date. this is their prime gossip time. sometimes Jadzia is invited

when Keiko's mad at Miles she'll rant to Julian about it. Julian learned very quickly that this is not a time where advice is wanted, so he sits back and lets her get it all off her chest, because she really just wants someone to listen and let her blow off some steam

Julian makes a concentrated effort to learn more about plant husbandry and care after the incident where he accidentally killed some of Keiko's prized plants because he actually does feel very bad about it

Julian hovered over Keiko nearly as bad as Miles did when she was pregnant with Kirayoshi (and then he hovered over her even more after the pregnancy transfer, and he wouldnt tell anybody why, but Keiko knew it was because nearly losing her shook him up pretty bad)

when Julian gets outed for being augmented, Keiko goes to him and gives him the tightest, warmest hug he's ever gotten in his entire life

Julian gets invited to girls nights with Keiko and Molly (steady surgeon's hands make him the best one to paint nails) (he pretends to complain but he loves it)

anytime Julian has to go away for a scientific conference of any kind, if he gets to bring someone with him, his first choice is always Keiko

in short: theyre besties they told me so themselves <3

Charlie: (jumps, sending papers and crayons all over the place) Vaggie! Hi! Did I wake you? I'm so sorry! Let me just move to the kitchen so I don't disturb you.

Vaggie: Charlie, it's fine. This is your room. I just happened to see the light on after getting some water. But why are you up?

Charlie: I've been... thinking.

Vaggie: (teasing) Is that the scent of burning cupcakes I smell?

Charlie: (whining) Vaggiiiiiiiiiie!

Vaggie: (giggles) Sorry. Sorry. What have you been thinking about?

Charlie: I've been thinking of new ways to get you redeemed and into Heaven!

-Record Screech-

Vaggie: (freezes) You.... what?

Charlie: Vaggie. In the six months you've been here, you have been nothing short of absolutely perfect! You've been kind, caring, protective, a great listener when I go off the deep end and ramble about.... well.... anything and everything, and did I mention perfect? Vaggie: (firmly) No.

Charlie: (pauses) No?

Vaggie: (unconsciously growls before snapping) No, I don't!

Charlie: (flinches at the sudden raised voice) Vaggie...

Vaggie: I am the LAST person who deserves to go to heaven! I don't even deserve to be around you!

Charlie: (scrambles over her feet to rush to Vaggie and grab her hands) What are you saying?! Of course, you deserve to be around me! Are you not happy here???

Vaggie: Of course, I'm happy here! That's the problem! I don't deserve happiness, Charlie!

Charlie: Everyone deserves happiness!!!

Vaggie: Then did you ever consider the fact that I don't want to go to Heaven?!

Charlie: Wh-Why?! Why wouldn't you want to go to Heaven?!

Vaggie: BECAUSE YOU WOULDNT BE THERE!!!

Charlie: (loosens her grip on Vaggie's hands) What?

Vaggie: (sighs in defeat) Heaven isn't that big glowing ball of pearl white in the sky for me, Charlie. It's.... (Takes a deep breath) It's you.

Charlie: M-Me???

Vaggie: Yes! You! Charlie! You are my Heaven! I don't want to go anywhere else because you won't be there!

Charlie: (shocked)

Vaggie: Charlie?

Charlie: ........

Vaggie: (sighs) Forget it. I'm gonna go. Thanks for all the help.

Charlie: Wait! (grabs Vaggie's hand tightly) Say it.

Vaggie: What?

Charlie: (trying to control the tears I her eyes and the smile threatening to rip her face in half) Say it. The three words you want to say. Please?

Vaggie: (uncomfortable and blushing) I-I don't know what you mean...

Charlie: Then maybe I can be an example?

Vaggie: (eye widens in shock) You?

Charlie: I love you, Vaggie. And, as horrible and selfish as it is, I am so, soooo happy you don't want to go to Heaven. That you don't... want to leave me.

Vaggie: (cue puppy face from "Hello Rosie" as she pulls Charlie in for a hug) ....I love you.

Charlie: (Hugs back just as tight) I love you too.

A half baked Steve/steddie angst idea:

Steve thinks the only reason people love him is for image purposes.

When he was a kid his parents only loved him around other people. The perfect family to the outside observer but as soon as the crowds were gone it was all lectures and fights if they were there at all.

In the early years of school, the Harrington name was something he held with pride. He brought it out and people wanted to be around him. They were his friends because it looked good. He found out early on that if he looked good and had a good reputation people would like him. If he could give people status he got a little affection in return.

Then for a while in high school it was something to brag about to the other girls at the lunch table if you could sleep with the Steve Harrington. A prize that made you popular and the talk of the school.

But then with Nancy it felt special; different. He felt like he finally had someone who valued him as something important. Worthwhile and more than just a pretty face or a quick moment of fame. That was until the party when he was told he was bullshit and their love was pretend. The first affection he allowed himself to think was real was performative. All Steve was to her was a way to seem and feel normal. Not something to be loved for himself.

So that’s why when Eddie and Steve start dating and Eddie says he’s okay with them not telling people he’s really confused. Eddie makes it perfectly clear that he doesn’t expect Steve to come out if he’s not ready. But Steve genuinely cannot think of another reason someone would want to date him if it isn’t for the look of it. It doesn’t make sense to him. If he isn’t giving Eddie anything why would he date him?

It takes A LOT of Eddie repeatedly telling him that not only does he give a lot of things other than a good image to a relationship but he doesn’t need to. He’s worthy of love just for being himself and boy is that a hard pill for Steve to swallow.
