This song reminds me of my first serious relationship, it was the song we shared for each other. It was a difficult relationship, her father drank himself to death, her step father who she loved hung himself in the hospital my father worked at, I was the one who told her what happened. There were many nights when I would have to run over to her house, or call the cops, to make sure she hadn’t seriously hurt herself. The relationship didn’t work, we were still very much kids, but we remained friends. She has her own family now, and two beautiful daughters, and that genuinely makes me so happy.
