6. Episode of tv or webisode that defined the year for you?

look, it's the tsunami episodes of 911. just beautifully done gripping two hours of television where i really didn't know what would happen next. I encountered it late in the year, but ever since i watched it nothing has been the same.

12. Talk about a new friend you made this year

I made so many new friends this year. friends who write the most beautiful fics, friends who have encouraged me to read more fic, and even write a little. it's an unhinged little group of weirdos but i love them all so dearly.

24. Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?

in the sense that i don't make them, yes. But this coming year i think i will read more, granted it'll be fic but it's worth it..

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

I didn't even know I was writing "fanfic" at first lol. I was just obsessed with Percy Jackson, and the 4th book (The House of Hades) hadn't come out yet, and I was antsy so I decided I'd just write my own version on paper in my notebook during study hall in middle school lol. I can't remember how I learned that other people do that, or how I started posted online, but here I am!

🦋 Which character is your favorite to write?

For Schitt's Creek:

David, hands down. I relate to him so much, and I just love the layers to his characters. He always come the most naturally to me, although Stevie is a close second. Her sarcasm and bitterness is so fun. My favorite is writing scenes with the two of them together!

For 911 LS: TK Strand! For fans of both shows, can you tell I like the damaged ones? Lol. I like writing Carlos, too, but I think TK comes a bit easier for me.

1. Song of the year?

Looking only at songs released in 2023 (which tragically excludes my #1 song listened to this year lol) the answer to this is... probably new to almost everyone reading this lol. But Future You by Zed who are a Kiwi band from 2000 who recently got back together to release a new album next year! And even outside of the nostalgia factor it's an absolute banger.

13. How was your birthday this year?

Ngl I was side-eyeing the wink in the ask until I realised what the question was 🤣

My birthday (which I share with the coolest kids on the block) was kind of a weird one this year, actually. There was a lot of family stuff going on, my cat decided to stop peeing and not let us know until his bladder almost burst, my biggest client shut down their business with no warning... BUT I got to spend it with my spouse and the next day with my friends and that's what matters, nē?

Once the whiskey was consumed, David and Patrick fell back into easy conversation. They don’t know where the night is going to take them, but they are enjoying the moment.

David moves to take his sweater off and Patrick follows.

“Is this OK?” David whispers, not wanting to break the mood.

“Yes, it’s fine.” Patrick, replies, giving a small swallow.

David glances down, first at Patrick’s lips, and then to his neck, and back to his lips. Patrick nods, and then David is kissing him.

Patrick moans into the kiss, and David deepens it. After a couple minutes, they both part for air lips, red and swollen.

They both look down at their lips and give shy smiles to each other.

“I didn’t know it could feel like that.” Patrick sighs.

“Neither did I.” David murmurs. He pulls Patrick into a hug and kisses his forehead. As they both decide what comes off next.

WIP WEDNESDAY

Here is a little more of No Laughing Matter, the Wisdom Teeth AU that is posting this Saturday :)

Ellen knows what she is doing. Well, she does, except when it comes to this. Henry doesn’t want his wisdom teeth removed. He doesn’t want someone poking in his mouth and taking away his bones. It feels quite odd to say, but they are a part of him. They grew and developed and became his wisdom teeth, and he feels like he needs more wisdom these days, not less. It is too little, too late, though, as the two-hour long appointment has filled a perfectly punctual spot on his calendar for months and loomed over him like some kind of toothless grim reaper coming to collect. All he really wants this holiday season is to not say something he regrets while high on nitrous oxide. His previous experiences with laughing gas have been less than savory. He is a little more than loose lipped when it comes to the drug. He accidentally came out once; the other time he was sharing some stories from college that he would have much rather not ever seen the light of day. He dreads to think about what might come from laughing gas this time around.

As soon as he set one foot out the door, Henry walked directly into the solid mass of Alex and his hard body and all of his muscles, many of which happened to be on display. He appeared to be heading out to the gym, or maybe for an early evening run, wearing a loose gray NYU t-shirt and navy shorts that hit mid-thigh, which was really a very pleasant sight overall. 

Alex chuckled and took out one of his air pods as he reached out with a strong hand on Henry’s chest to make sure he didn't trip and fall flat on his face. “Whoa there, buddy! What’s got you in such a big rush?” 

“Oh, nothing,” Henry stammered, trying to come up with an excuse, but just ending up being vague (and British) instead. “Just heading to Mrs. Gleason’s flat to see if she’s home.” 

“Is it Euchre night already?” Alex pondered. He pulled his phone out of his pocket quickly and glanced at it. “It’s normally Thursdays, and today’s still definitely Wednesday.” 

Henry had no idea there was a regular Euchre game in 2C, nor that Alex was a part of it. He was still learning the floor’s inner workings.
