astro observations 5
Hey, here's another astro observation. 🍻🍻
Highlights: north node in houses, ceres, pallas, ascendant, sun, mercury, venus, neptune, uranus, lilith, saturn, pluto, chiron, degrees, cancer, capricorn, virgo, 1st house, 4th house, 6th house.
------
🍄 NN in the 4th or opposite MC. It's all about your sense of security. These people learn how to create security inside themselves instead of looking for it in people or outside sources. You should feel safe wherever you are physically and in your life journey, as long as you have yourself, it's all you need. You may not feel at home anywhere, you may dislike your family, which leads you to adjusting the concept of "home" to something suitable to your life, where you feel emotionally safe. Once you create your home inside you and nurture it fully, your home might manifest outwardly and you could certainly have the house of your dreams. (if you have this placement let me know how it manifests for you).
🍄 NN or SN in 4th, or in cancer/capricorn natives make others feel very safe around them and in their house/work. They give off a natural sense of warmth and security which make people trust them. They care for others without expecting things in return. Their houses/companies are often very homey and beautiful. These people just have vibes that make guests stay longer than they intended.
🍄 NN in the last 4 houses (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th) can have a purpose that has to do with the collective. The lessons they learn or the talents they have should be something that inspire a change to the collective's shared sets of values and outlooks on life, people and the world at large. They can make people around them see a whole different viewpoint of the things they believed were facts. There's no such thing as absolute truth or fact, everything in the world is changeful and so the people at large should be able to change and adapt with it. That's why many of these people are celebrities or in the public eye.
🍄 NN or MC major aspects to uranus (conjunction, opposition, square, trine, sextile) can mean that the native doesn't necessarily follow the usual get a degree find a job typa life. But with softer aspects it's less forceful and destructive, more free flowing. Even if they tried to follow the traditional route, there is usually an underlying desire to break free from that and create a different path for themselves. They're always met with pleasant/unpleasant surprises, cuz uranus wanna do what they wanna do lol. I have uranus opposite NN and conjunct aquarius MC, and I can’t tell you how much I hate that system with just words.
🍄 I noticed that animals are attracted to virgo ascendant/moon/venus/mars, personal planets in the 6th or 5th, or ceres in the 1st or 6th. Animals feel like they are taken care of by these individuals and trust them. The type of people that when they call the pet's name, they LISTEN. Also, If you have a lot of fire in personal planets animals might see you as an equal lol (their sass come out). They might pick up little fights with you out of nowhere, especially cats. 😽
🍄 Your ascendant could be your mom's ceres sign or degree. (if you aren't sure of your ascendant checking her ceres sign might help!). You could have the same ceres or pallas sign/degree as your mom or they could conjunct/opposite one of your personal planets. If there are such placements, then your mom might have had a strong influence on you.
🍄 Pallas aspecting NN and neptune can bring and expand popularity especially if other aspects support it (like neptune or sun aspecting NN or MC). Pallas conjunct NN can mean making your talents known in this lifetime.
🍄 Pallas conjunctions are very powerful. Neptune conjunct pallas is a natural artist, like naturally good at some hobby they have. Venus conjunct pallas, naturally good at beautifying things and themselves. Mercury conjunct pallas, naturally good at speaking/writing/singing. Ascendant conjunct pallas, natural beauty, naturally good at presenting themselves. Michelle Pfeiffer has is exactly conjunct her ascendant. It can give a variety of different talents and good luck. 🐞
🍄 A mix of Cancer and Libra in personal planets can give dimples and charming smiles and also beautiful voices. Speaking of charm, sun conjunct venus or moon can give a youthful charm and a personality that is admirable, especially if it's in a fire sign. Venus conjunct any personal planet is a charming aspect.
🍄 Neptune conjunct lilith, can make the native appear sexy in an innocent and otherworldly way. Emphasis on the seductive eyes here, especially if neptune or lilith also aspect the ascendant. Can give sanpaku eyes. They don't have to try so hard to be desirable. Very hard to replace their appearance. e.g. Vanessa Paradis, Britney Spears, Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Depp.
🍄 Sun opposite/square/conjunct saturn, feeling inadequate, overworking themselves, feeling unworthy when they're not working. Having high expectations of themselves and thinking they can’t achieve it all in the time they set for themselves. Attaching their sense of worth to their achievements. These natives are super hard on themselves. Bottled up emotions, underestimating their emotions, putting on a strong face, facing the world with a sense of responsibility. You are hard workers and deserve all the success you want. You are worthy no matter what you do, plz. (these difficult emotions can come up strongly with the transits too I noticed, even if you don't have that aspect, don't bottle them up, release them).
🍄 People with pluto opposite ascendant attract others with pluto conjunct ascendant and vise versa. It's that power dynamic, it happened so often to me. That push and pull can be euphoric and obsessive. Wanting to dominate the other, fear of being dominated. Wanting to empower or destroy each other. Wanting to feel needed and wanted or needing the other. Wanting to own that person or being owned by them. It is hot ngl, but it never ends well if there are control wounds at play, which often are and at the forefront.
🍄 Venus opposite NN natives give me the sense that they mastered their type of beauty or other venus related topics. Many celebrities with this aspect are conventionally attractive. e.g. Cameron Diaz, Zooey Deschanel, Britney Spears, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lawrence, Song Hye-kyo. Same with venus conjunct NN, but moreso they need to learn how to accept, apply and use their beauty no matter how different it is. They also need to learn how to be in healthy relationships and to accept the overall blessings that come their way. e.g. Lana Del Rey, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift (wide orb but still same sign).
🍄 Chiron conjunct/opposite personal planets, especially sun/mercury/mars, or having heavy chiron aspects, is someone who is authentic in their self expression but they might not see it. They give off this authentic vulnerability that is so beautiful. Taking a messy/crying/bad hair day photo of themselves and sending it to their friends typa vulnerability. They embody the qualities of the sign the planets are in with a chironic touch that makes their very existence healing and delightful. They may use self-deprecating humor as a way to bring joy to themselves and others through the pain they feel. They don't see the good qualities others see in them fully, and others might take it as a chance to deliberately make them self conscious, especially when young. They may attract a lot of jealousy from friends because they don't always see their delightful personality and it may trigger others (yes delightful and heartwarming, fight me). The way they see themselves is often blurred due to the experiences they went through and the already existing wound of their self concept that they often go to extreme phases of self doubt and introspection.
🍄 Mercury conjunct/opposite jupiter can make someone funny, it brings a humorous layer to the native's outlook on life and the way they express their views. Mercury rules gemini and jupiter rules sagittarius, both are known to be funny, when they conjunct it creates either a philosopher or a chrackhead or both lol. They are deep thinkers, but they acknowledge the contradictions in life, in themselves and in people, which leads them to use sarcasm, wit and irony. The way they speak and change their voices can be funny too. This aspect is often seen in the charts of comedians or just naturally funny people. e.g. Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Rowan Atkinson, Jenna Fischer, Pete Davidson, Emma Chamberlain, Aubrey Plaza, Billie Eilish, Kevin Hart.
🍄 Venus degrees like the placements can tell you about how you like your relationships or your love language. Venus in a leo degree can indicate liking when your partner gives you gifts and praises you, loyalty, dramatic love. Venus in an aquarius degree, needing freedom, wanting your partner to also be your best friend, stimulating conversations, online dating. Venus in an aries degree being fierce, childlike and adventurous in love and flirting a lot, physical touch. Venus in a scorpio degree being loyal, intense and flirty in love, physical touch and quality time. Venus in a virgo degree liking the act of service, being cared for and noticing the little details. Venus in a Libra degree, the typical relationship stuff, words of affirmation and gifts. I have venus at 11° and in the 11th house, I can tell you I prefer the friends before lovers typa love, it's easier to develop feelings, you can just be yourself, also no awkward first date.

i hate getaway with a passion. but i KNOW that dick is GOOD. there has to be a reason why he was one of the hottest mechs aboard (according to jro anyway) sooo uh. reader rly enjoying that nasty spike?
It’s hard doing clerical work all day. It’s a cushy job most of the time, the benefits are good enough, and your skill set is perfect for it. But the mechs are the most infuriating, frustrating, unpredictable part of it. The part that you can’t just push off until later or snap at. You would rather take your chances back sassing Ultra Magnus than any of the volatile mecha onboard the Lost Light.
The worst of them all: Getaway.
You can’t really put your digit on why he’s the worst. He’s charming and funny most of the time, he proclaims to hold Autobot values very close, and he’s well-liked. But in your experience, he can also be passive-aggressive and pushy. It’s not that he strong-arms you into anything, but… You’ve certainly learned he won’t take no for an answer. Even though you try to be as friendly and accommodating as possible, sometimes you just don’t have the solution crew members are looking for. No matter how many appeals they file.
You get the feeling Getaway thinks he can charm his way into anything if he tries hard enough. Maybe he thinks other mechs’ minds are just a lock that needs particular picking. Maybe he’s just not used to being told no. Either way, you don’t know how you gave him the impression you would want to sleep with him, but when he offers to bend you over your own desk for a hard frag…
It’s hard to say no when you’re forced to watch the most handsome mechs you’ve ever seen walk around the ship like their frames aren’t optic candy. So many handsome mechs and you’re so sure that your (unofficial) position as Magnus’ assistant makes all of them off limits. One bad decision in your tenure can’t be firing worthy.
Getaway’s thrusts shudder and jolt the precious silly novelty items on your desk, scattering your neat stack of datapads. If you had taken a moment to think through your decision, you would’ve put all your items away into your desk. That stupid Rodimus-shaped rubber duck (a present from the mech himself) topples to the floor with a mournful quack. You catch the barely stifled chuckle from Getaway, but you don’t think it’s very funny. You like that duck.
Offlining your optics, you focus on his spike inside you. It’s an agonizingly perfect fit, fucking into that soft spot inside your valve that’s somehow so difficult to find with digits alone. You meant to buy a false spike ages ago, but it slips your processor every time. It doesn’t help that your habsuite is smack dab in the middle of the hotspot for battles whenever there’s rogue Decepticons, or sparkeaters, or evil sentient plants that come out of a rift in reality that Brainstorm created. Using Getaway’s spike would be a much nicer, cheaper replacement for relief. Assuming he doesn’t make you buy him a drink first. Swerve’s prices haven’t gotten any cheaper.
Even though he’s clearly just as cocky about how he fucks as he is at his most renowned skill, Getaway certainly has a reason to be. Two of his slender digits press firm circles into your anterior node, completely neglecting your dripping spike, as he fills your valve. You’re entirely focused on humping his circling digits, the added pressure of having him inside you just pushes you closer to overload. His thrusts deep and rapid. It’s difficult to voice it, in fact you would rather die than say it, but you want him to keep fucking you through your overload. Into however many subsequent overloads he would deign to give you, toppling through them like dominos. The bite of your own desk against your hip plates, your servos clutching desperately at the edges, knowing a mech could walk in and see you, it’s a euphoria you want to clutch onto. You want Getaway to wear you down with the pleasure, use your valve until his transfluid drips down your thigh plating.
Clerical work is so thankless, all you want is one good night cycle to get you through it.

Aphelios has daily exercises for his voice therapy in the hope of regaining this voice enough for normal use. As well as needing to do these to train up his vocal chord strength, the surgery for vocal nodules left scarring that has permanently changed his voice. He only carries out these exercises when he believes everyone else is asleep or away from the house. He's been advise to not smoke, drink, or even eat spicy food because of his condition. Aphelios misses how his voice used to sound, and when feeling down will listen to old recordings or videos with himself.
When he was younger, Aphelios convinved Alune to help him get an eyebrow piercing, using a piercing gun kit. It went so terribly Aphelios had to go to hospital to get it patched up, and he now has the scar over his left eyebrow. Both twins swore to secrecy about the event.
As well as being a fan of Ezreal's early work, Aphelios was also a large fan Yone's underground work (why he invited him to HEARTSTEEL) and of Kayn in his second band. The abrasive, angry theming helped him with the emotions he had with his vocal nodes and how it effected his plans and dreams. He was a very vocal fan online and would search for any other content of and around them. He had mixed emotions when Kayn 'broke away' but could never fully fault him. Aphelios has kept some of both Ezreal and Kayn's merch around, but he knows he'll be teased for flaunting any.
Aphelios puts his heart and soul into his music, leading to late nights of work, lost sleep and meals, and a lot of sass. He isn't worried about how well the band is doing, because he's putting in so much work, but the stress from the other members annoys him, and he'll often pull pranks or joke around in the hope that they'll ease up a little. It's also waaay easier than letting them know he's worried about them, and that he thinks they need to chill more. Yeah.

A fic where Brainstorm has been uh...a bad fish?
honestly this was something I wrote on a whim for @elmonstro's art (NSFW) back then and I don't think I have the brain to finish it so I just cleaned it up a bit and here it is. probably too unfinished to be posted to ao3 so uh, enjoy secret tungle content?
collection: mermaid au - not canon for that au rating: nsfw cw: D/s vibes, sadomasochism
The subtle line of the plating seam was almost impossible to detect under his digit, and if he hadn't known that this was where the mermaid's modesty panels lied he would have never found them. But even the soft touch of brushing his finger tip up and down the seam was enough to have Brainstorm shivering in his hold, leaning harder back against his chest with his arms on either side of their forms gripping for a hold from the edge of the pool.
"Is this what you wanted?" Perceptor asked in a low voice right next to the mermaid's audial. "Is this why you've been swimming into me with enough force to knock me over? Because you wanted attention?" The low timbre of his voice was enough to have Brainstorm squirming even more, his field broadcasting fluster and arousal like he had been caught for some horribly embarrassing secret.
Which it probably felt like too, because the mermaid was never one to directly ask for what he wanted, instead dropping subtle and not so subtle hints whenever he wanted something that he was too embarrassed to ask for. Getting all huffy and pouty if Perceptor wasn't immediately picking up on his hints.
"Well, you've been ignoring me..." Brainstorm argued weakly.
"I was working. I can't always play with you," Perceptor said, but he didn't sound at all like he was genuinely scolding the mermaid, and more just teasing him for being so needy. Honestly he thought that it was adorable. Even the flush on Brainstorm's cheeks now was adorable, and the way his long frame was squirming in his hold was making him look good enough to be devoured.
Perceptor made the next downward brush of his thumb over the seam harder, more demanding.
"Well, aren't you going to open your panels? I can't help you if you don't let me in."
Brainstorm made a choked little sound, but right after the panels under his fingers were transforming away and Perceptor could press two of his fingers over the thin slit of wet mesh that was already starting to feel plush from arousal. He drew them gently through the thick lubricant, spreading it all the way up to Brainstorm's little node that was pulsing under his finger tips.
"There you go. Poor thing, have you been this turned on the whole time?" Perceptor asked as he rubbed slow circles over the slick pearl, and the mermaid was leaning even heavier into him as the sudden pleasure made him tense up with little shivers.
“Hha, I was trying to tell you,” Brainstorm gasped and tried to argue, but in exchange for his sass he only earned a pinch of his anterior node that had his optics fluttering shut and mouth falling open in a moan.
“No, you were trying to frustrate me,” Perceptor corrected him firmly, and the mermaid either couldn’t or wouldn’t even try to argue with him about it. Probably because he knew it to be the truth, or because Perceptor was gently tugging on his node before it slipped from between his slick fingers, and he returned to the slow circular motions again to soothe the sting on the poor abused thing.
“You were trying to get my attention in the only way you know apparently, by pushing and pulling me. But I’ve told you before that you need to use your words because I can’t read your mind,”
“I think we need to practice that some more. How to use your words to ask for things that you want. So tell me Brainstorm, what was it that you wanted from me?”
Brainstorm kept squirming in his hold, his sharp little claws digging into the back of Perceptor's palm which was holding his valve lips open. While the fingers of his other hand kept pumping into the mermaid's wet valve and drawing out those sweet little whines of his with every rough movement. But he had still not gotten the answer that he wanted, because Brainstorm was avoiding the question, probably hoping that Perceptor would be distracted by his cute and needy act.
Which wasn't an entirely wrong assumption since he had gotten a bit distracted and indulging, even when this was supposed to be an educational moment.
Perceptor drew his fingers out of the plush valve with a flick that had Brainstorm flinching with a gasp, and without the rough stimuli that had him squirming the mermaid was now hesitantly melting bonelessly against his chest again while trying to catch his breath. But with the fingers of his other hand that were still holding Brainstorm’s valve open with a firm V Perceptor could feel it pulsing needily under his touch, and see fresh and thick lubricant roll out from the abused canal with every push.
"So, what was it? What was it that you wanted from me, Brainstorm?" the mech asked in a tone that had the mermaid whining pitifully. A clear sign that he was close to breaking but still being difficult and shy, not quite ready to swallow his pride and just say it. He had a habit of avoiding having to be straightforward, but fortunately for him Perceptor knew how to make little brats find their words.
"Apparently not me fucking your cute valve with my fingers until you overload on them since you're not saying anything," Perceptor teased, and just to make it a bit harder for the mermaid he drew those fingers roughly over the wet mesh until he reached his sensitive node and pinched it briefly between two digits. Messing up whatever flustered reply Brainstorm had tried to prepare as it turned into another broken moan.
"So if you don't want me in your valve, how am I supposed to help with this then, hm?" Perceptor asked mockingly, withdrawing his other hand and spreading out the V of his fingers so Brainstorm's valve was in clear display now. And the mermaid was groaning as he looked down at the lewd mess of himself with half lidded optics, his face flushed from both arousal and embarrassment, his node twitching in a sign of how this turned him on.
"Am I supposed to believe that you would overload if I just touch you over it?" Perceptor asked and softly placed his free hand over the valve again, running all four of his digits over the lubricated lips as gently as he could in a loving pet. Brainstorm was responding so beautifully, his valve moving against his fingers, his pretty mouth pulled tightly shut to try and stiffe sounds as he was shaking his helm lightly in a no now. Which still was not the verbal answer Perceptor was looking for.
"I don’t know, maybe it could work. Perhaps I just need to touch harder." Perceptor then said, his voice dropping lower just before he brought his palm up and smacked it down in a light but sharp slap right over Brainstorm's node and wet lips.
The reaction was instantaneous as Brainstorm jolted from surprise with a little yelp, but there was nothing but an explosion of arousal and fluster in his EM field as he squirmed and tightened his grip on his lover’s hand and gasped his name. So with his little test bringing successful results, Perceptor brought his hand up and smacked it over his valve again, getting a very satisfying wet sound from the impact. But not as satisfying as the loud moan he pulled out of Brainstorm who flinched in his hold before he was bowing his back, his long tail curling up under the water before them in a clear sign of pleasure.
"Oh, was that it? Were you annoying me on purpose so I wouldn’t be too gentle with you? Does it feel better when it stings a little?" Perceptor mocked him harder, letting himself get excited at the mermaid's reaction to being roughed up like this.
"Phl-please. Percy~" Brainstorm moaned, and Perceptor could feel his whole valve twitching and pulsating against his hand, incredibly wet. And he couldn’t resist the urge to dig his two middle fingers deeper between the lips as he drew his hand gently up and down through the thick lubricant.
"Please what, Brainstorm?" Perceptor asked firmly, because no matter how much he wanted it as well he wouldn’t be indulging this time until Brainstorm gave him what he asked for.
And the mermaid’s tail flicked with agitation under the water’s surface with that flustered little trilling sound he sometimes made, but from his field you could spy that his resistance was cracking from the way of his neediness and arousal. He was finally nearing that edge where instead of attitude the mermaid started to slip into his polite voice because the want overpowered whatever embarrassment he had left in him.
"Please more," Brainstorm then pleaded so cutely, his hips trying to push into Perceptor’s palm as he leaned his chassis back and arched his back, resting his helmet on his shoulder. But Perceptor wasn’t allowing the pleasure. Not yet.
"More what? I want you to say it," he pressed firmly, because he knew that Brainstorm was ready to bow. And when he did it would be delicious.
The mermaid turned his helmet so he was hiding his face in the microscope’s neck, his breathing coming in fast and hot little gasps against his neck cables. And from the tight curl of his tail and the light tremble of his hands you could see how much it took from him to fight the urge to give in. How his field displayed clearly the hesitation of letting go of his embarrassment and control, and the incredible need to allow himself to just fall into Perceptor’s hold. Until he was hanging right on the edge, letting go of the last of his reservations as he spoke in a breathy and openly needy voice.
"Please do that again. Please, Percy. Slap it. It felt so good, please."
“Good boy.”
Satisfied enough with the answer Perceptor gave him exactly that, bringing his soaked hand up before he brought it back down in a sharp slap. And even when Brainstorm was still jolting and arching his back with a broken moan, Perceptor was already slapping his valve again, and again.
The sharp little claws of the mermaid’s hand were digging into his left one with every slap, his whole long frame twitching from the sensations as his cries and moans got only louder. And his EM field ebbed and flowed between pain and pleasure that were mixing together, his white helm trashing from side to side as if trying to say no even when everything else about him said yes.

Transiting Mercury enters Scorpio
Saturday, October 29, 19:22 UT - Thursday, November 17, 08:42 UT
This transit lasts, what, nineteen days? Twenty? Not even three weeks. This isn’t going to have a very profound effect on anybody - not even on a Gemini such as myself - unless, of course, it triggers a slower-moving planet having its way with you.
Looking at ways this could manifest through Mercury’s input-process-output:
Input: we can be pretty stubborn about what we want to learn. There can be an unconscious or subconscious effect, too: sometimes the book we need literally falls off the bookshelf at our feet - or, you open the book to a particular page and gasp out loud at what you read there. (Happens a lot to me with astrology books.)
Process: how we think. We can be very broody and obsessive over things, way past the time we should have shrugged it off and moved on. Insights suddenly burst forth from our subconscious.
Output: how we communicate. Can be succinct, not wasting words or breath; can be brutally honest, borderline cruel. There is an affinity for “shock value,” be it a potty mouth like Ms M’s, or saying something outrageous just to watch people react.
The main event happening with Merc/Scorp is, of course, the lunar eclipse on November 8. Mercury joins the Sun, Venus, and the South Node - opposite the Moon, Uranus, and North Node in Taurus; square Saturn/Aquarius. From the purely/solely Mercurial point of view: news that we don’t like but have to deal with; sassing the wrong person; keeping silent when we should speak up; being too wrapped up in our own darker thoughts; having to wrap our heads around irrevocable changes. Fun, huh? Nothing we can’t handle, though, I absolutely believe that.

well i'm going to be going through hell next week. 10hr flight with a 6hr layover to move a storage unit to a pod with like a 2-day deadline (idk. timezones, right?) and then 16hr flight with 9hr layover back, only to wait 2wks for the pod to arrive. and THEN i start work the next day. not sure if they're onboarding me on the nightshift or if i have to onboard on the dayshift and THEN switch to nightshift. if i get through this without committing a murder it will be a miracle for the rest of y'all. which is to say, get the fuck out of my way and don't fucking sass me because i have 0 minutes scheduled for bullshit. i do have several hours scheduled for drinking with friends though. so there's that. but both of the layovers are in FUCKING VEGAS it's the WORST AIRPORT. they have all the gates arranged in circular nodes, if memory serves. which to be fair, is better than the salt lake airport, which they just renovated to schedule all the redeye flights at the furthest possible gate so you have to walk through all the fresh architecture to get the fuck out of there. can someone murder a capitalist for me. because if you don't i'm about to

Rust Compiler Performance Triage
Overall some really impressive wins this week. Note in particular PR #100209, "Lazily decode SourceFile from metadata" (which improved 75 primary benchmark scenarios and 158 secondary scenarios) and PR #98655 "Don't derive PartialEq::ne", which improved 65 primary scenarios and 27 secondary scenarios). There were a few cases that pnkfelix explicitly decided not to mark as triaged; see report for more details there. Also pnkfelix wonders if there is a recent slight-upward trend on max-rss for the past week, see the summary graph

Top Web Development Tools To Consider In 2023
All of the tools used in website building are auxiliary ones that simplify the work of website developers. They are all, in other words, tools that help web designers and developers create fully operational websites. The online surfing experience will be enhanced with responsive web design, which will also help with better SEO, decreased bounce rates, and less maintenance requirements.
When creating a web application, you should select the technology based on the requirements of the project at hand, not on your or your competitors’ prior accomplishments.
Having been known as the best Web Design and Web Development Company in Kerala, CRAB Network has always been crafting various result-oriented mobility solutions for brands and businesses across the globe.
Web development is the process of creating and maintaining web pages that are published to the Internet and made available for user interaction. However, this does not imply that this method is only used to create intricate websites that are a part of larger commercial websites. These robust, user-friendly websites are made using a variety of frontend and backend languages, including PHP, Python, Java, JavaScript, and others, as well as a few website creation tools.
jQuery
A feature-rich JavaScript library called jQuery aids web designers in adding extra functionality to websites. jQuery is a crucial front-end language used for navigating and modifying the HTML DOM tree. Arguably the best JavaScript library, it is a great resource for navigating between documents, installing plugins, and creating animations.
Meteor
The java web development platform Meteor has a sizable plugin and package library. This tool is simple to use and implement on any type of website thanks to the integration of different frameworks.
In addition, Meteor includes a number of ready-to-use features that can be edited from the front end and servers built using NODE js. As a result, these website building tools can be used on any type of website, including business and e-commerce sites.
CodePen
A user-friendly front-end online development tool with a variety of functions, CodePen is used by businesses of all sizes for front-end web creating. It offers the required Integrated Development Environment (IDE) functionalities in a web browser. Use CodePen to showcase your HTML, CSS, and JavaScript snippets.
Sublime Text
This text editor is good for usage with prose, markup, and coding and is great for small to large enterprises. You may quickly edit files side by side with this capability. Additionally, Sublime’s enormous selection of keyboard shortcuts is largely credited with its success. It can edit simultaneously, as was already described.
Additionally, it offers simple access to files, lines, and symbols. The seconds you save on each operation ultimately mount up if you spend more than 8 hours a day in your editor. The platforms Mac, Windows, and Linux are supported. The fact that this tool doesn’t yet support mobile platforms may be its only drawback.
Sass
The simple and user-friendly front-end website development tool known as Sass can write and strengthen any CSS language. This tool can assist in enhancing the variables, nesting, and mixin capabilities of the CSS that already exists on your webpages.
TypeScript
This typed superset of JavaScript is an open-source programming language. The code will be converted into simple JavaScript. Any host, any operating system, and any browser are supported. You can make use of the JavaScript code that is already in place and call TypeScript code from JavaScript.

Create a custom work item control with Azure DevOps extension SDK
The Azure DevOps Web Extension SD or Azure DevOps Extension SDK is a client SDK for developing extensions for Azure DevOps. In this example I will show you how to make a custom work item control using this SDK.
Here is an example of a small project with a custom work item.
Prerequisites
We will need the following before we get started with building our extension:
NodeJS
Setting up the project
We start setting up the project by running the following NPM command in your project directory:
npm init
You can configure these settings as you wish. These can be found in package.json.
we need to install the following packages a dependencies:
npm i azure-devops-extension-api azure-devops-extension-sdk azure-devops-ui react react-dom
as well as the following dev dependencies:
npm i @types/react @types/react-dom copy-webpack-plugin cross-env css-loader loader-utils node-sass rimraf sass sass-loader style-loader tfx-cli ts-loader typescript webpack webpack-cli --save-dev
Now your package.json should look something like, the packager versions might be different:
{    "name": "testextension",    "version": "1.0.0",    "description": "",    "main": "index.js",    "scripts": {        "test": "echo \"Error: no test specified\" && exit 1"    },    "author": "",    "license": "ISC",    "dependencies": {        "azure-devops-extension-api": "^1.158.0",        "azure-devops-extension-sdk": "^2.0.11",        "azure-devops-ui": "^2.167.49",        "react": "^16.14.0",        "react-dom": "^16.14.0"    },    "devDependencies": {        "@types/react": "^18.0.25",        "@types/react-dom": "^18.0.8",        "copy-webpack-plugin": "^11.0.0",       "cross-env": "^7.0.3",        "css-loader": "^6.7.1",        "loader-utils": "^3.2.0",        "node-sass": "^7.0.3",        "rimraf": "^3.0.2",        "sass": "^1.56.0",        "sass-loader": "^13.1.0",        "style-loader": "^3.3.1",        "tfx-cli": "^0.12.0",        "ts-loader": "^9.4.1",        "typescript": "^4.8.4",        "webpack": "^5.74.0",        "webpack-cli": "^4.10.0"    } }
Create two directories inside your root directory: src and static. in this example we won’t be adding anything to the static folder, but it is meant for, for example image files that your project uses. For now, you can add a file named .gitkeep instead.
Next up is configuring TypeScript. Create tsconfig.json in your root folder and put the following inside it:
{    "compilerOptions": {        "charset": "utf8",        "experimentalDecorators": true,        "module": "amd",        "moduleResolution": "node",        "noImplicitAny": true,        "noImplicitThis": true,        "strict": true,        "target": "es5",        "rootDir": "src/",        "outDir": "dist/",        "jsx": "react",        "lib": [          "es5",          "es6",          "dom",          "es2015.promise",          "es2019"        ],        "types": [            "react",            "node"        ],        "esModuleInterop": true    } }
Now we configure Webpack. Create webpack.config.js in your root folder and put the following inside it:
const path = require("path"); const fs = require("fs"); const CopyWebpackPlugin = require("copy-webpack-plugin");
const entries = {};
const ComponentsDir = path.join(__dirname, "src/Components"); fs.readdirSync(ComponentsDir).filter(dir => {    if (fs.statSync(path.join(ComponentsDir, dir)).isDirectory()) {        entries[dir] = "./" + path.relative(process.cwd(), path.join(ComponentsDir, dir, dir));    } });
module.exports = {    entry: entries,    output: {        filename: "[name]/[name].js"    },    resolve: {        extensions: [".ts", ".tsx", ".js"],        alias: {            "azure-devops-extension-sdk": path.resolve("node_modules/azure-devops-extension-sdk")        },    },    stats: {        warnings: false    },    module: {        rules: [            {                test: /\.tsx?$/,                loader: "ts-loader"            },            {                test: /\.s[ac]ss?$/,                use: ["style-loader", "css-loader", "azure-devops-ui/buildScripts/css-variables-loader", "sass-loader"]            },            {                test: /\.css?$/,                use: ["style-loader", "css-loader"],            },            {                test: /\.woff?$/,                type: 'asset/inline'            },            {                test: /\.html?$/,                loader: "file-loader"            }        ]    },    plugins: [        new CopyWebpackPlugin({           patterns: [               { from: "**/*.html", context: "src/Components" }           ]        })    ] };
The last configuration we need to make is specifically for Azure DevOps extensions. Again, in the root directory, create a new file, this time it’s called azure-devops-extension.json:
{    "manifestVersion": 1.0,    "id": "textextension",    "publisher": "your Visual Studio Marketplace publisher here",    "version": "0.0.1",    "public": false,    "name": "testextension",    "description": "custom control",    "categories": [        "Azure Boards"    ],    "targets": [        {            "id": "Microsoft.VisualStudio.Services"        }    ],    "icons": {        "default": "logo.png"    },    "content": {        "details": {            "path": "README.md"        }    },    "scopes": [        "vso.work"    ],    "files": [        {            "path": "static",            "addressable": true        },        {            "path": "dist",            "addressable": true        }    ] }
Now, you might notice how this configuration file needs two files: README.md and logo.png. You can add these files in your root folder.
Making the custom control
inside the src directory, create a new React component, let’s name the file Common.tsx.
import "azure-devops-ui/Core/override.css" import "es6-promise/auto" import * as React from "react" import * as ReactDOM from "react-dom" import "./Common.scss"
export function showRootComponent(component: React.ReactElement<any>) {    ReactDOM.render(component, document.getElementById("root")) }
It is important we import "azure-devops-ui/Core/override.css", so that we can use standardized UI styling.
This component is more or less our root component, which renders our other components inside a HTML element with id “root”.
Also create a Common.scss file. All we’re going to add to this is:
body {    margin: 0;    padding: 0; }
Inside the src folder, let’s make another directory named Components and inside that folder create another one named TestExtensionComponent.
src │   Common.scss │   Common.tsx │ └───Components    └───TestExtensionComponent
Inside the TestExtensionComponent folder, we’re going to add a few files. First off is TestExtensionComponent.html, this will be our html that will contain the component(s) of your custom control.
<!DOCTYPE html> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">    <body>        <div id="root"></div>        <script type="text/javascript" src="TestExtensionComponent.js" charset="utf-8"></script>    </body> </html>
Next is TestExtensionComponent.scss.
@import "node_modules/azure-devops-ui/Core/_platformCommon.scss";
This will import the Azure DevOps styling.
Now add TestExtensionComponent.json, this is our component configuration file. Let’s add an input to the configuration, let’s call it SampleInput
{    "contributions": [        {            "id": "TestExtensonComponent",            "type": "ms.vss-work-web.work-item-form-control",            "targets": [                "ms.vss-work-web.work-item-form"            ],            "properties": {                "name": "cusom control",                "uri": "dist/TestExtensonComponent/TestExtensonComponent.html",                "inputs": [                    {                        "id": "SampleInput",                        "name": "sample input",                        "description": "sample input",                        "validation": {                            "dataType": "String",                            "isRequired": true                        }                    }                ]            }        }    ],    "scopes": [        "vso.work"    ] }
Next is TestExtensionComponent.tsx
import React, { Component } from 'react' import * as SDK from "azure-devops-extension-sdk" import { IWorkItemFormService, WorkItemTrackingServiceIds, WorkItemOptions } from "azure-devops-extension-api/WorkItemTracking"
import "./TestExtensionComponent.scss"
import { showRootComponent } from "../../Common"
class TestExtensionComponent extends Component<{}, {}> {
   constructor(props: {}) {        super(props)    }
   public componentDidMount() {        SDK.init({})    }
   public render(): JSX.Element {        return (            <></>        )    } }
export default RESTRequestButton showRootComponent(<RESTRequestButton />)
The component doesn’t do much for now. What is important is the SDK.Init() inside the ComponentDidMount(). This makes sure we can use the Azure DevOps Extension SDK in our component.
So, what if we want to get input data? For example, our SampleInput we configured in the json. We can use the Azure DevOps Extension SDK for that.
To the constructor add:
this.state = {    displayText: "default text", }
and to the Component after the extends keyword:
class TestExtensionComponent extends Component<{}, { displayText : string }>
SDK.Init() inside ComponentDidMount() is a Promise so, we can use then-chaining to set our state values there.
public componentDidMount() {    SDK.init({})        .then( () => {            this.setState({                displayText: SDK.getConfiguration().witInputs["SampleInput"]        })    }) }
Now in our render() we can display the input data
public render(): JSX.Element {    return (        <>{this.state.displayText}</>    ) }
You might also want the data of the current Work Item, we can do this with the IWorkItemFormService interface.
const workItemFormService = await SDK.getService<IWorkItemFormService>(    WorkItemTrackingServiceIds.WorkItemFormService )
Then we can use this to get specific fields
const fieldValues : Promise<{[fieldName: string]: Object}> = workItemFormService.getFieldValues(fields, options)
fields here is an array of strings containing key names of the work item, for example: System.Title, System.AssignedTo or Custom.HasPineapple
options is a class that implements WorkItemOptions, which can be done quite easily like
class Options implements WorkItemOptions { returnOriginalValue: boolean = true }
Now, the variablefieldValues is a Promise, so you can use then-chaining to get the data.
Say, we want to display the title of the work item instead on the SampleInput, we could modify our code to look like this:
public componentDidMount() {    SDK.init({})        .then( () => {            const workItemFormService = await SDK.getService<IWorkItemFormService>(                WorkItemTrackingServiceIds.WorkItemFormService            )            const fieldValues : Promise<{[fieldName: string]: Object}> = workItemFormService.getFieldValues(fields, options)
           fieldValues.then( data =>
this.setState({                displayText: data["System.Title"]        })            )    }) }

Here are a few thoughts I have about how Material compares to Universal Theme from a component feature perspective (so I’m not going to mention layout, movement, color, or versatility). A few component feature comparisons between Material and APEX’s Universal ThemeĪll of the Material designs were built on the concept of “quantum paper” – Google dreamed up a universe in which your computer screen peers into a paper theatre stage – on which highly responsive paper moves and transforms across your screen in magical but fundamentally consistent and intuitive ways. Take your time to admire the components on offer. Integrating Google Material components into Oracle APEX can describe a broad spectrum of workflows – today we’re going to pick a relatively simple workflow in which we simply copy and paste from Material into our APEX application.Īs APEX developers, we are interested in “Web” components, so head to and explore the components menu in the left hand nav. Google’s Material is an open-source project/design philosophy that offers a stunning open-source selection of components and features. Let’s begin with an overview of Material. I’m going to assume you have an intermediate knowledge of APEX but I’m not going to assume you have any exposure to Google’s Material.
UNPKG MATERIAL 2 DEV HOW TO
In particular – we are going to look at how to integrate Google Material components to Oracle APEX. If Github Issues don't fit your needs, then please visit us on our Discord Channel.In this blog post, we are going to explore how a 3rd party library can be added to Oracle APEX. We're constantly trying to improve our components.

Please see quick start demo on glitch for full example. This'll initialize text field component on a single. import from textField = new MDCTextField(document.querySelector('.mdc-text-field')) Import MDCTextField module to instantiate text field component. Load styles required for text field component. Please see Textfield component page for more options.
UNPKG MATERIAL 2 DEV INSTALL
npm install usage of text field component. Install textfield node module to your project. You can also see the final code and result in the Material Starter Kit. To configure webpack, please see the full getting started guide. This guide assumes you have webpack configured to compile Sass into CSS. Please see quick start demo on codepen for full example. (document.querySelector('.mdc-text-field')) Material Design Guidelines (external site).
UNPKG MATERIAL 2 DEV PATCH
We typically follow a 2-week release schedule which includes one major release per month with breaking changes,Īnd intermediate patch releases with bug fixes. Semver so you can control when you incorporate them. NOTE: Material Components Web tends to release breaking changes on a monthly basis, but follows It is also specifically architected for adaptability to various major web frameworks. In addition to implementing the Material Design guidelines, it provides more flexible theming customization, not only in terms of color, but also typography, shape, states, and more. Material Components for the web is the successor to Material Design Lite. In short, whether you're already heavily invested in another framework or not, it should be easy to incorporate Material Components into your site in a lightweight, idiomatic fashion. Material Web strives to seamlessly incorporate into a wider range of usage contexts, from simple static websites to complex, JavaScript-heavy applications to hybrid client/server rendering systems. Material Components for the web helps developers execute Material Design.ĭeveloped by a core team of engineers and UX designers at Google, these components enable a reliable development workflow to build beautiful and functional web projects.
