AU where Shigaraki is haunted by his family but just never noticed somehow. Things move around in front of him, enemies mysteriously trip over nothing, he sometimes feels a hand gently stroking his back when he’s sick or petting his hair, he attributes that to just how life is. Other insistences he attributes to Kurogiri being a forgetful caretaker because surely he was the one to put a blanket on Shigaraki when he feel asleep at the bar or was the one who left him the glass of water, who else would have? (his dead grandparents) 

Kurogiri just shrugs because he too is lowkey haunted by the ghost of Shirakumo and agrees that this is just how life be sometimes. Sometimes furniture slides out of your way as you walk, that’s just the magic of life!

AFO and Ujiko always have shivers running down their spines when they’re near Shigaraki, like an angry spirit is looking at them, and they swear it’s tried to choke them before (mama shimura is full of rage)

Deku isn’t sure how he’s supposed to feel when he sees all those ghosts at the USJ and no one else seems concerned about them?! Can they just not see them??!?!!! Hell of a way to find out he’s haunted too.

The League are at first high key freaked out with the moving furniture and cold spots and hearing whispering in the otherwise empty bar. They’ve seen Hana and Mon-chan running around only to vanish just as quick and the rest of the families shapes in the corner of their eyes. When asked about it, Kurogiri and Shigaraki just shrug because duh that just happens sometimes! Don’t be such babies about it! They force themselves to get over because they’re not malicious ghosts, save for the taller male one though he’s quickly put in his place by the woman when he tries anything, and Toga and Twice even play with Hana and Mon-chan as best they can.

I love Yambureme so much, and I love the story! It got me thinking, how does 1-A react to their teacher being a Nomu now? How do they cope with losing their homeroom teacher and likely needing a replacement?

We'll see a bit more of their individual reactions in this next chapter but in general most of class 1-A use it as fuel to the fire of becoming heroes. It puts a much more dire spin on their education, especially immediately after during the sports fest. Everyone is fired up and serious and unfortunately find it difficult to enjoy themselves.

Midnight and All Might take on a joint homeroom position for the class in his absence. It really helps the class keep it together because Midnight can tell them stories about Shouta when he was young (even though he might be a little cross with her for it) and bolster their confidence that his self-built strength will keep him alive until he's brought home.
