SEAFOOD CREOLE GUMBO A CUSTOM HOMESTYLE RECIPE

Gumbo is a kind of soup which is most popular in Louisiana, USA. In fact, it's Louisiana's official dish. The soup is made with a roux, strong stock, meat or shellfish, a thickener, and finally celery (which unfortunately the sims doesn't have), bell peppers, and onions, other veg can be added but these are the main three. It's a filling dish for your sims to enjoy.

Activity had been bustling at Pauli's Diner all day and it didn't look like the flow of customers would slow down anytime soon. Thanksgiving was officially the busiest shift Khare had ever had but she stuck to it diligently, alternating between taking orders and helping out in the kitchens to serve up huge plates of turkey with all the trimmings.

i became a vegetarian at the start of the summer of this year not out of any particular guilt-driven or ethics reasons but because i felt like my relationship to food had become very stagnant and borderline disassociative, where i never thought about what i would eat and would rely on the same few easy things all the time, and i needed something to give me both structure and a forced reason to actually acknowledge the food that i ate.

and it has really worked. i'm trying a lot of new things all year, and finding new favorite foods (poblano peppers! heirloom tomatoes!), and as a home cook i have been seeking out and preparing new recipes like never before which has been very fulfilling for not just my diet but my creativity and my hobbyism. this lifestyle change has succeeded exactly how i hoped it would by forcing me to create a brand new relationship to food!

and although it wasn't my intention i do in fact feel less ambient environmental and ethical guilt about my part as a consumer in industrialized meat production (and obviously individual choice has significant material limits which i don't hold against anyone, but still).

and i just think this has been really cool and if you feel like you're in a similar spot with your relationship to food then maybe consider it, even as a short-term experiment

#a rule i keep is that if i am for example invited somewhere and somebody has already made a meat dish that they are sharing #then i won't feel obliged to refuse it because like. it's already made! and in most cases it's either it gets eaten or thrown away #waste not want not and all that #but also going vegetarian has made going out to eat so much more interesting because i have to look into veg options beforehand obviously #but i actually love how at non-veg-specific places it really cuts down on choice paralysis. like oh thank god i just choose 1 of 5 things #had a bosco salad at an italian place the other night and BUDDYYYYYYYYY holy shit it was so good #louposting #food #vegetarianism

Portland state university and PCC sylvania have hella brutalist architecture ! And love joy fountain is one of the places the jackass guys did “urban kayaking”. The South Park blocks that the campus surrounds have a farmers market on the weekends.

The Saturday market on the waterfront on Naito Parkway is super mid. Really underwhelming.

There’s a stripclub called the Acropolis off 99e and Tacoma that has really good steaks. There’s a lot of strikes among Portland strippers tho and idk where they land.

There’s a lesbian bar called the sports bra?

Baby ketten klub has karaoke. There’s private rooms but also just one big karaoke bar in the middle. They have this blended frozen cocktail that’s like $6 or smth.

Also rocky butte has a rlly pretty view of the mountains. There’s this weird dome-shaped concrete church down the road from it. Idk if it’s brutalist but it’s fascinating.

There’s also a viet store on 82nd and Burnside Hong Phat. There’s Shun Fat further down 82nd idk what their vibe is tho.

Third Eye is the only Black-owned bookstore in Portland. Def check it out on SE Division. Powell’s books can suck my dick and balls (derogatory)

Mt tabor is beautiful and involves a lot of walking depending on where you park. Worth it tho. My favorite view of the city ever. It’s also an inactive volcano :)

If you really like hiking you can wander around tryon creek state park. It’s next to PCC sylvania and Lewis and Clark College. There’s also forest park but forest park is So Huge. Tryon is def more manageable on a budgeted timeline.

Laurelhurst park off stark st is also really pretty!

There’s a rad food truck owned by queer sex workers at a new pod called little America that’s also off stark street

i am so excited to go to this christmas non-denominational holiday party my work has put together wherein i must do an extra in-office day on a friday. i am also really excited that they are doing it at a restaurant where i can eat literally nothing. it is really putting me in the christmas non-denominational holiday spirit.

After a big dinner like at Christmas, many families have leftover food. One thing my family and many others I know do is we make sandwiches with the leftover stuffing and turkey (or tofurkey for me lol). This dish may not be fancy, but it's tasty, easy to make and really hits the spot the day after something like Christmas.

You can pick and choose which variations you add, but make sure that you have the "[ Robin ] Christmas Sandwiches Plate" file. I have a handy .zip file for you if you just find it easier to plonk that in your folder and not worry about it.
