Summary:

It came on the wind, a soft spring breeze that brought with it hope and sorrow and a breath of relief and a sigh of grief. The young Sheikah caught the slip of paper between two slim fingers, their heart beating a bit faster than usual. It only took a glance to read the few runes written with magic: It is done. ---- The Demon King has been destroyed, and Sheik has been chosen to protect the Goddess Incarnate and help Her people reunite with the Surface. Still mourning the loss of Impa, Sheik meets their destiny head-on, stepping into shoes that seem impossible to fill.

-All robots are inherently trans

-While it’s most common for BMO to be referred to as he/him and with masculine terms, sometimes they forego any gendered terms all together with them. Very very rarely BMO is referred to as she/her and they’re comfortable with those too

-In the genderbent world BMO looks exactly the same. No bow on their head out even eyelashes, they aren’t changed

-During a wedding episode they wear a headband with a flower on it typically worn by little girls

-They have an imaginary alter ego/mirror self what refers to themself as a “baby girl”

Princess Zelda

-I think Link’s gender weirdness rubbed off on them

-Just the existence of Shiek is propoganda in And of itself

Why do people keep acting like botw/totok zelink is a proship or something it’s so weird.

They’re the same age, they mutually respect each other, they’re close friends who trust each other deeply, so???? what is the issue here????

If I gotta see one more person claim it’s problematic because they headcanon them as siblings, or because it’s somehow homophobic to not ship Link with a dude, I’m gonna explode.

Friendly reminder that you don't have to be trans to be a trans icon.

It's unfinished but idc. Had this in mind for a while then a "Samus isn't trans" thing showed up and rustled my jimmies.

Firstly, her being trans doesn't stop her from being a woman. This is just more representation not "taking away a strong female character." Second, yes, in the canon of the games she's cisgender, but that doesn't matter because it's fiction anyway. You can provide all the evidence you want to argue anything about a story, but any additional information can be added or assumed on the audience's side if they want to. It's even encouraged to do so if that makes the story better. Third, it straight up makes the story better. The idea of the first game was just a standard "the best bounty hunter in the galaxy fights the most dangerous monsters in the galaxy." And then, on a whim, they creators thought "Hey let's make this generic guy a girl." That is the one thing people remember most about those early days of Metroid. Samus' gender was a plot twist. It was something that said, "Hey! Look! It's not some guy, it's a woman! Aren't you surprised?" And then the next thought that comes to mind might be, "Why are you surprised? What about this is surprising to you? A woman went and did all that and you're actually caught off guard? Why?"

It directly challenges our presumptions about gender. And this is the lifeblood of the entire franchise. Samus consistently finding herself up against the worst the galaxy can throw at her and then overpowering them against all the odds while someone somewhere sits in disbelief. (The audio logs in the Prime games, Adam the computer in Fusion.) This is a marvelous story for a trans character!

One thing that ive noticed in the TOH fandom lately is that Hunter seems to be having the Sheik Effect(tm) and im SO here for it

By that i mean the fandom being like "Hunter is transmasc" "Hunter is transfem" "Hunter is agender" "Hunter is nonbinary" "Hunter is genderfluid" "Hunter's a they/them" "Hunter's a he/they" "Hunter's a she/they" "Hunter uses neopronouns"

And all of them being Absolutely Correct

In a relationship currently with Ravio but they haven't decided exactly how far their relationship goes just yet

Before the shrine was probably not given any opportunity to explore any gender identities or sexual orientation, so went as a cis man

Bigender, i saw this headcanon once and im stealing it for self projection reasons

She/he pronouns with a slight preference to he

Bisexual, polyamory

He, Zelda and Groose are all in a relationship together (Zelda is mostly straight and Groose hasn't decided yet)

Seen hcs that fairies aren't born with a gender and get to choose theirs

In situations or aus where they are able to be with Midna, he is dating Midna and Midna is dating Dusk, but Twi and Dusk are not dating

“What are Zelda/Sheik’s identity/pronouns? I’m pretty sure they’re genderfluid or nonbinary but I’m not sure if my memory’s good or not.Uh… ask inbox is a little broken and I’m not sure why. Hello, Pastelsweetz! Thanks for the update about our askbox -- I hope it’s working now!

As for Zel’s pronouns, we see them more as genderfluid. They use he/him as Sheik and she/her as Zelda, but we’ve been gradually introducing them as Zel in Adult Arc under they/them pronouns. :) Zel is kind of the best of both worlds to them -- they’re learning to shape their own identity despite the pressures and guilt from outside forces. Building your own identity is part of growing up and we’re glad this aspect of GUG touches so many people, including ourselves as writers. Creator Junior (*Hi! I’m writing this message!*) has been taking testosterone patches since August so the narrative of shaping your own identity has been incredibly personal to convey through this comic.
