My recent purchases from thredUP & looks by Chris Fleming that inspired them.
From one showpig to another:
It’s not easy to like the way you look, especially when you’re both trans and physically disabled. Since beginning my medical transition, I’ve never been happier—and the addition of your wonderful non sequiturs to my vocabulary has reminded me not to take life too seriously in the meantime...as I go about my Floridian fruity business.
Your carefree attitude towards presentation has helped me slowly but surely learn to feel comfortable again in more feminine clothing following my top surgery (and years of significant dysphoria); your refusal to be anyone but yourself has inspired me. I’ve only been keeping up with your work for a short time, but it means the world to me.
Thank you, Chris.
— Kennedy (they/them)

[Image description: seven photos of the original poster, Kennedy, a short, thin white nonbinary person with shoulder-length, wavy blonde hair and glasses, interspersed with four photos of comedian Chris Fleming, a tall, thin white nonbinary person with shoulder-length, curly light brown hair and glasses. Photos are described left to right, top to bottom.
Photos 1 and 3 show Kennedy sitting on a half wall in front of their apartment building, dressed in a full-length, white sleeveless jumpsuit with orange-and-black vertical stripes. In photo 1, they are straddling the wall; in photo 3, they have pulled their right knee to their chest to show their black dress shoes.
Photo 2 shows Chris dancing in a similar jumpsuit in the music video for “W.U.G.”
Photos 4, 5, and 6 show Kennedy outside the back of their apartment building, wearing dark-wash jeans, a partially unbuttoned long-sleeved dark purple shirt with a blue floral pattern, and a plain gray tee shirt underneath. In photo 4, they are sitting against a lamp post; in photo 5, they are sitting at a table, resting their face against their hand and smiling; in photo 6, they are leaning forward over the back of one of the chairs.
Photo 7 shows Chris guest-starring on the TV series Corporate as Todd in a similar outfit, spreading his arms and smiling at someone off-camera.
Photo 8 shows Kennedy in a full-length, sleeveless orange jumpsuit with a floral short-sleeve button up worn open over it, sitting sideways on an outdoor bench.
Photo 9 shows Chris in a short, light yellow jumpsuit with orange vertical stripes, in a similar pose to Kennedy in the previous photo.
Photo 10 shows Chris in a similar orange jumpsuit to Kennedy’s and short, heeled purple boots, kneeling on a stool while performing.
Photo 11 shows Kennedy in the same jumpsuit as in photo 8, sitting in their power wheelchair in front of a bathroom mirror.
End description.]

“Passing as nonbinary is impossible” no you’re just not interested in transitioning or altering your appearance at all. Which is fine!!!!
But it is just as possible to be visibly and intentionally androgynous as it is to transition to any other gender. You just have to commit to it and go on hormones and alter your manner of dress and possibly have surgeries, just like any other transition process
So many nonbinary people give up on passing before they’ve given it any sort of try, and I just want you to know that you have just as much right to transitional medicine as a binary trans person

There is no more quiet part, they are just fully saying out loud that they think trans people even existing in public is a harm to children akin to sexual violence.
I'm so tired of liberals telling me over and over and over again that I need to just reach out and talk to these people. They see my very existence as a sex crime, they think I need to be exterminated out of public life and then exterminated for real. These are fucking fascists. I'm so tired of being a rhetorical chip used to shame others, I'm sure you'll feel smug satisfaction over your conservative uncle that you were right while he's carting us off.
I'm sorry, there is no bridge to bring us to a middle ground between "I think I have the right to exist" and "I think your very existence is a crime" that doesn't end poorly for me.
There is no hand I can reach out without getting pulled by that hand straight down 6 feet under to my grave.

Oh, you actually like when I’m a little bit mean to you? Aren’t you just pathetic! It’s adorable, really, how desperate you are for me to bully you. Come on, say it. Tell me how much you want— need— me to bully you. How much it affects you. You need it to get off, don’t you? How absolutely pathetic. Need a big, scary butch to remind you how weak you are? Awww, then beg.

if this post gets over 5k notes by aromantic spectrum awareness week (feb 18-24) i'll tell my homophobic "friend" that they're being homophobic and need to cut it out
edit: we made it to 5k in less than 24 hours so i think i'm genuinely afraid of tumblr now. i'll talk to them as soon as i can!
edit #2: ugh that was icky but i told them and they didn't react too well :( glad i did it though!

(If you like specifically the diet or sugar free version of any of these, just vote for that option. Same thing for specific flavors, eg. cherry coke, or mtn dew red, etc.)

I took my dad to pride today. After asking him and saying what itt might entail, I made him a free dad hugs sign:
Tumblr media
While walking there, a lot of people pointed at him and said it was a cute idea. They were right.
My (and his) personal highlights were:
A guy hugging him and saying something in Ukrainian (bc of the flag, probably)
Someone asking him if they can call him "daddy" (I had to explain to him why I started laughing. He now knows.)
Someone giving him a rose
Someone kissing him on the cheeck
A lot of people seeing me standing around awkwardly while there was a line forming in front of him and hugging me too
A guy my dad's age hugging him with tears in his eyes
A kid my age shouting "I don't have a father!", Running towards and almost tackling him
A guy in a fetish-related dog mask hugging him and clinging to him like a lifeline
Two children between eight and ten initiating a group hug with him and giggling the entire time
Everyone thanking him afterwards and a lot of people saying he gives the best hugs in the world. One guy said he'd never been hugged like that before
This guy in a moving lorry shouting and making the lorry stop driving to get a hug from my dad:
Tumblr media
My dad said that the majority of people hugging him were either older (25-60) queer men or younger (15-25) trans people. He really loved the experience and felt like a lot of the people, especially the older guys really needed it.
Anyway we're definitely doing this again next year
