STUBBORN PRIDE
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: absolutely none. Just some pure, sweet content.
PAIRING(S): Jack Hughes x Fem!Reader
SUMMARY: in which Jack Hughes is too stubborn to let Fem!Reader peacefully sleep on the couch.
Jack Hughes was difficult to have arguments with. He was stubborn and never seemed to take things seriously and he never really listened to a word anyone said. Everything always went in one ear and out the other. Like when Y/N told him she’d be on the couch for the night so she could have space, for example. It seemed space was not a word in Jack’s dictionary, because he strolled into the living room with his hands in his pockets and his lips whistling a soft tune.
Y/N glared at him from her spot on the couch, watching as he stopped a few feet before her. There was a smooth grin on his face, almost like he had plastered it on for appearance’s sake, like it masked the true nature of his feelings as he hid them with that usual unbothered smile of his.
“Is there room for one more?”
“No.” Y/N said bluntly, promptly turning away to face her back to him. She didn’t have to look back to know his face was curled into that pout of his, the dangerous one that did too good of a job of convincing her to give him his way.
“Okay, fine.” Jack huffed, and then she heard the soft thud of his body settling on the floor, making her itch to turn and peek over the edge of the couch.
Y/N succeeded at ignoring for him for approximately thirty seconds before the curiosity got the better of her and she swallowed her pride and took a quick look. sure enough, he laid curled on the hardwood floor, limbs awkwardly sprawled as he stared up at her with innocent eyes.
"What are you doing?" Y/N furrowed her eyebrows, and he stared at her like she’d asked a silly question, and maybe she had. Being hard to get rid of had always been Jack’s specialty, and she should’ve known better by now that retiring to the couch was never enough to retire from him.
"I’m going to sleep. What does it look like I’m doing?" Jack said like it was obvious. She almost smacked him with her pillow for his tone, but she had half a mind not to. It was the perfect opportunity for him to steal it, and it wasn’t her problem he forgot the single most important thing when it came to sleeping.
"Well, why here?" Y/N scowled, making him shrug as he settled his hands behind his head and looked up to the ceiling.
"Seems like a good spot to sleep if you ask me.” He said casually. “Nice hard floor to cushion my back, cool breeze of the air conditioning to keep me cold, and the clock ticking in my ear to keep me up. Sounds like the perfect place, eh? And if I get bored, we even have a TV.”
"I let you have the bed, you idiot.” She pursed her lips.
"Who needs a bed when I can sleep on the hardwood floor next to my sweet, pretty girl?”
Y/N cut him off before he could finish, feeling the last possible vein she could preserve while dating a man like Jack Hughes pop. "Well, then I’m going to use the bed if you won’t.” She sat up, grabbing her pillow and blanket.
And because he’s Jack Hughes, the bane of her existence and the sole cause of all her headaches, he sat up, too. "Good idea, baby. Let’s go.”
"No. You stay here, and I’ll take the bed."
"Okay.” Jack hummed, still not making any moves to lay back down.
Y/N quickly realized this wasn’t a battle she could easily win with him and she rolled her eyes, shoulders slumping in defeat as she glared down at him. Jack looked up at her with that same innocent look, those same wide eyes that blinked up at her like they couldn't possibly do any wrong.
"You do realize I’m not sharing the bed with you just because you're stubborn, right?" Y/N asked dryly.
Jack grinned, that familiar glint in his eyes that always meant trouble. “Well, I never said anything about taking the bed, now did I?”
"Jack, you can't possibly mean sleeping on the floor next to the bed.”
"It’s technically not the bed.” He insisted. “All you said is you're not sleeping with me. You never said anything about near me."
"Okay, I don't want to sleep near you.” She scowled.
"Nuh-uh, no way.” He shook his head. “You can't add rules now. It’s far too late."
"Jack, I swear to fucking God.”
"So, what'll it be? Bed or couch?"
"I hate you.” Y/N grumbled, settling back down on the cushions of their living room couch, back once more facing him. She could hear his body softly settle back onto the floor again, and after a few beats of silence, he spoke up again.
"Can I use your blanket? I’m cold."
"No."
"C’mon, just toss half of it over the edge, I’ll scoot over. We can make it work somehow.”
"Are you intentionally trying to piss me off?" Y/N snapped as she sat up, glaring down at him once more.
Jack Hughes was difficult to have arguments with. He was stubborn and annoying and so stupidly handsome. He made her eyes soften before she could help it as they grazed over his messy hair and the soft glow of his lip balm. He made her anger ebb away slowly no matter how hard she tried to latch onto it just from that toothy grin of his. He made her forget they were arguing and that she should be mad when she noticed the soft, gentle traces of love in his eyes.
So, Y/N blinked as she watched him, letting out a quiet sigh as he shook his head and offered her a small, innocent smile, one that told her he loved her, that he wasn’t mad, and that he'd wait on the cold, hard floor with no pillow and blanket for her as long as he needed to.
"No.” Jack chuckled. “No, I’d never want to make you mad. You’re scary when you get mad.”
"That’s rich, coming from someone who’s supposed to be a big, strong hockey player.” Y/N muttered, making him laugh softly. And she wasn’t mad anymore, not as much as she was just a bit ago. Maybe it was because she loved him too, even despite the way he made her veins pop, and her patience thin, and her head ache with that aggravating personality of his. Maybe that's what love was, when even the bad and the ugly were part of the good.
"Behind every strong man is an even stronger woman.” He cheekily remarked, his grin never fading.
"Just come here.” Y/N groaned, scooting over to make room for him on the couch.
Jack didn’t need to be told twice. He didn’t even waste a single moment as if he'd been expecting it all this time as he climbed in beside her and pulled her into his chest. It was cramped and slightly uncomfortable as her legs dangled over the edge and her pillow barely fit under both of their heads, but his body was warm and his arms held her tight and she could faintly make out the thrum of his heart against her body. Maybe it wasn’t so bad, not if it was with Jack.
"Did you miss me too much?" Jack wriggled his eyebrows, pouting when she shoved his face away as he leaned in for a kiss.
"You still haven't earned kisses back yet.” Y/N grinned. “Goodnight, Jack."
"But I can't sleep without a goodnight kiss.” Jack pouted, softly nudging her with his shoulder.
"I love you.” Y/N cut him off with a giggle. Jack Hughes was difficult to have arguments with, but she thought that she won this time.

The Witch's Bodyguard
Actress!Wanda Maximoff x Bodygaurd!Fem!Reader
Summary: Wanda is in need of a new bodyguard and you are called upon to fill in.
Word Count:
Warnings: None this is just a set up and establish chapter
A/N: I'm so glad you're all looking forward to this series!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanda Maximoff; sure you'd heard the name before. She was one of the top celebrities around. You didn't pay any of it much mind as you worked security at a gala. Your manager had asked you to work there since she'd be there talking about contracts with people. She had other bodyguards under her, but she always favored you.
“Y/N?” You hear your manager, Val, called out as you stand on the balcony making you turn towards her. Next to her was Wanda Maximoff, you'd seen her around talking with a handful of others like Natasha Romanoff and Kate Bishop.
“What's up Val? Everything okay?” You ask immediately going into guard mode. She chuckles a bit, putting a hand on your bicep.
“Calm down. Nothing serious. Miss. Maximoff here was asking about you when she overheard me speaking so highly of you.” You looked over at the ash blonde, you had seen earlier someone playing the trailer for her upcoming movie which explained the blonde instead of her natural brunette.
“Ma'am.” You gave a nice enough smile and held out your hand.
“It is very nice to meet you…” Her voice trailed off, leaving you to fill in.
“Y/L/N. Y/N Y/L/N.” She smiles and takes your hand.  You see her eyes rake over you, assessing if you'd be a good fit. Currently you were wearing black army pants and a tight fitting black short sleeve shirt. As she looked you over, you swear you see her bite her lip.
“You said she's available, right?” Wanda looks away, back to Val, as if you suddenly don't exist anymore.
“Yes she's open right now. We can draw up a contract for you to look over if you'd like?” Val suggests earning a smile from Wanda.
“That would be lovely. Can it be ready tomorrow? My last bodyguard had to take a leave so I am I'm need of one as soon as possible.” You wonder what could have possibly happened for only a moment before your presence is being requested elsewhere through your ear piece.
“It was lovely to meet you Miss. Maximoff, but I'm needed in the main hall concerning a matter.” You take your leave with a smile, getting one back from both women.
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
You had woken up at 5am, done your workout, showered, and had breakfast before you were being summoned by Val for this new contract. Standing in the at home office with Val, Wanda, and a handful of lawyers and other important people from Wanda's team all gathered. You stood at ease behind Val wearing much the same as you were yesterday. Only difference was an army green shirt today.
“We need your signature Mrs. Y/L/N, can we get your signature?” One of the lawyers asked.
“It's Miss and yes you can.” The lawyer looked at the paperwork and Val then went back to you. “I told you to fix that, Val.” you hissed as you signed and initial on the lines indicated. You were used to this by now. You'd been through dozens of contracts with Val. You knew every word in the contract by now.
Your eyes flicked up to Wanda, feeling her eyes on you as you signed. It felt like she wanted to say something, but decided against it as you finished your signatures, pushing the papers back to the lawyer.
When everything was said and done most of Wanda's team left leaving just Wanda, Val, her manager Agatha, and yourself. There was small talk mostly of what it would entail. One of them being you'd be a live-in bodyguard for her. Sure Wanda had other guards, but you would be her personal bodyguard and she needed you at all times of the day.
You couldn't complain really. Leaving the old stuffy apartment you'd wanted to leave behind for a while now would be good. You didn't have to pay rent or anything. Food would be provided and you'd still be getting a paycheck each week. It was probably the best possible outcome you could have asked for.
“Well hire some movers to get all your belongings and bring them here.” Wanda spoke as you followed her down the hallway, her heels clicking on the hardwood. You took in the different pieces of artwork she kept around the house. Her home is mostly filled with white, gray, and blacks. The only splashes of color are scarlet hues every so often mixed into things such as a blanket or an accent rug. “This will be your room here.”
She opens a door to show off a rather blank room at the moment, but it's bigger than your whole apartment had been and it even has its own bathroom. You were a little in shock. This was a first for you being 24/7 for someone so you'd never stayed in any other celebrity's houses.
“Once we get your stuff here anything else you might need we can go get or order whichever you prefer.” You honestly weren't sure what to say.
“Oh thank you Miss. Maximoff, but once we get my things here I should be fine. I don't need much, honestly if I didn't have anything besides clothes this room alone would be enough for me.” She let's out a bubbly laugh at your statement.
“A minimalist. I like that.” She responds and you turn to fully face her.
“I did four tours in Afghanistan ma'am you learn to live minimally.” You tell her. She pauses a moment as if unsure what to say as she just looks at you.
“Straight out of high school?” She finally asks, but you have the feeling it wasn't what she really wanted to say.
“Yes ma'am. Did four tours and then met Val through a martial art class. I was trying to blow off steam in a healthy manner after coming back. We got to talking and she asked if I wanted to work for her. The rest is history.” You explain without giving away too much. You didn't like any one person knowing everything. She simply nods.
“Well if you need to grab anything we can go do that. Clothes, essentials, all the big stuff we can worry about tomorrow.”
“We?”
“Yes. You're supposed to stay close to me and if you need to grab your things then I'm going with you.” She says with a smile. Guess you were stuck with her now. At least she's nice. You've had to work with some people who aren't and you couldn't stand being around them.
“We can go whenever you're ready.” she tells you, starting to leave the room as you follow close behind.
“Ready when you are ma'am.”

Oscar Piastri x Reader // In Motion Pt. 5
Summary: one plane ride, a little sunburn, and far too many margaritas to count. 6.0k words
Warnings: alcohol, mention of previous sports injury
It’s a lazy Saturday morning. You’d showed up at the house an hour ago and planted yourself on the couch. Charles had been in the overstuffed armchair, and he’d barely batted an eye when you walked in, too engrossed in his TV show. Lando and Max had wandered downstairs eventually, and piled onto the couch with you. One by one, everyone else wakes up and comes downstairs. They have practice in a couple hours, but none of them are in a rush. Instead, they all choose to scatter around the living room. Charles turns on Planet Earth. Everyone’s engrossed by it.
“Hey, my aunt wants to know if we still want the house for spring break,” George says, looking up from his phone as a school of fish swims by on the TV screen.
Lando, whose head was previously buried under a pillow, sits up. “Obviously.”
“The house?” Oscar asks, and when everyone turns to look at him, he deflates. “Sorry, none of my business.”
George’s phone rings, and he answers and wanders off into the kitchen, chattering away. You’re perked up now, blinking around the room. There are smiles on everyone’s faces, now, at the mention of spring break. You’re all in desperate need of some time off.
Max turns to look at Oscar, arms raised above his head in a stretch. “Piastri. D’you have any plans for the break?”
“Not really?” He says, shrugging.
Max nods. “Cool. You do now.”
Max flops back over onto the couch, and so does Lando, effectively burying you once again.
Oscar turns to look at you, brows furrowed. “What did I just sign up for?”
You sit up from underneath Lando and Max, who groan loudly. “George’s aunt has a really nice beach house. We go there for spring break.”
Oscar raises his eyebrows. “Oh. You know, I didn’t mean to invite myself, and you guys-“
“Shut up,” Lando says, face half buried in the arm of the couch. “You’re going. It’s tradition.”
…..
The only thing worse than navigating an airport is doing it early in the morning with 6 hockey players in tow. You’d think they’d be good at travel with all the away games, but they’re not used to having to get themselves places. Lando almost leaves his luggage at the house, Max almost forgets his whole wallet, and you’re sure Alex would’ve been left behind completely if it wasn’t for Lily. Oscar’s the only self sufficient one, likely because he’s been living on his own for so long now. You think of him having to travel to games with his old team, wonder if he wandered around airports alone, and your chest aches. But he’s next to you, smiling brightly, suitcase in hand and clad in a hoodie and sweatpants. Lando’s ordering a beer from the bar. It’s 6am.
Max tries to usher the whole group towards the gate, like he hasn’t been the most scatterbrained person all morning. You let him feel like he’s in charge. It helps his ego. It’s not long before people get distracted- George wants a bagel, Charles wants to look at souvenirs, which is ridiculous considering you haven’t left yet, and Lily wants coffee. Max looks panicked as everyone starts to wander.
You clear your throat. “Okay. Lily, George, and I are going to that coffee shop,” you say, pointing at the one nearest your gate, “to get breakfast and coffee. Charles and Max will go in the shop. The rest of you can join whichever group, or you can wait at the gate. We’ll all be back here in 20 minutes.”
Max looks relieved, even as Charles drags him towards a stand full of license plate magnets with names on them. You head for the coffee shop, and find Oscar’s opted to join, too. Lando and Alex stay at the gate, guarding all the suitcases.
An hour later, you’re all seated on the plane, much to your and Max’s relief. George booked the flights for everyone so he could use his parents’ airline miles, and so you have no idea where you’re sitting until you actually get on the plane. You slip into your window seat, and Oscar stops at your row with a smile. He’s in the middle. George is on his other side. Up ahead, you see Lily, Alex, and Charles, and Max and Lando in front of them. You pity whoever the stranger is that will have to put up with Max and Lando in their row. Oscar helps put your carry on up above, and everyone settles in for the flight.
After takeoff, you push the window shade up. The sun is just barely starting to rise, and you’re already exhausted. Oscar leans close to peer out the window. He hums softly, pointing down below.
“You can see the house from here,” he points out, and you laugh.
He’s right. You can. The house, the ice rink, the soccer fields, they all disappear below. You wave goodbye, and Oscar laughs and does the same. Then you lean over and fall asleep, head resting on his shoulder. He doesn’t seem to mind.
…..
The eight of you descend on the beach house in a flurry of activity. It’s bright and sunny out, and you all wear sunglasses as you haul the luggage into the house. George points everyone to their rooms- you’re glad to learn you have the same one for the third year in a row, up on the second floor, with a nice view of the ocean and a room to yourself. Lando and Oscar are sharing, as are Max and Charles. Lily and Alex get a room, and George gets his own room. Charles offers to take your luggage upstairs for you, and you accept happily.
By the time everyone returns downstairs, you’ve made a grocery list. Max looks at it over your shoulder and nods in approval. There’s a little store within walking distance that should have everything you need. When Max suggests you all go to help carry bags, Lando groans loudly, already complaining about a headache or a sore back or whatever ailment will get him out of it. In the end, it’s you, Max, Charles, and Oscar who head off to the grocery store.
When you get back, you unload things in the kitchen, the four of you moving around each other with ease. Oscar drops the juice and you giggle, Charles hugs the bag of cheese puffs to his chest like a little kid, and Max starts pulling ingredients to make a late lunch.
“M’hungry,” Lando calls out.
“Thought you had a headache,” you call back, smirking as he walks into the kitchen.
“Back ache,” he corrects, smiling sheepishly. “Come on, you know plane seats suck.”
You roll your eyes at him, but you hand him the bottle of painkillers you picked up at the store. He gives you an easy side hug in thanks. Lando offers to help Max make lunch, and you retreat to the back deck for the first time this trip. You breathe in deep as the sun hits your skin, as the sound of the ocean fills your ears. It feels like the whole world is in front of you, stretching on and on.
Oscar walks out behind you, doing basically the same. “Wow.”
Alex and Lily are down near the water, and when he spots the two of you, he waves you over. “Low tide!” He calls out, grinning widely. “There’s starfish!”
You turn to Oscar with a grin, and then the two of you run down the shore to meet them. The stress of the school year starts to slip off your shoulders. For now, it’s just sun and sand and nothing else.
…..
Spring break, as it always does and definitely should, tastes like pineapple and coconut rum and frozen margaritas made in the ancient blender that somehow still works. It smells like sunscreen, the reef safe kind that Oscar insists everyone uses. It feels like sand stuck between your toes, like the crash of the waves against your legs, like the heat of the sun on your skin.
“Why couldn’t you guys be, like, professional surfers?” You ask, face half pressed into the giant beach towel you’re laying on. “This is where I’m supposed to spend all my time, not in an ice box.”
Max laughs and tosses a foam football at you. “You chose the school, too, you know. And you love watching hockey.”
“Max would be shit at surfing,” Charles pipes up, and though his eyes are hidden behind sunglasses you can tell they’re crinkled with amusement. “He is not very good at balance. Like Bambi.”
Max scoffs, picks up the ball he’d thrown at you, and chucks it at Charles’ head. Charles dodges it with a squeak and runs after it in the sand. Max follows, likely afraid of the retaliation that’s coming his way.
“Osc, you’re from Australia,” you say. “Have you surfed?”
Oscar’s laid out next to you, in the shaded portion of the blanket thanks to the umbrella George put up. He burns easily, apparently. You’d told him that you weren’t surprised, based solely on the pale tone of his skin, and he’d glared at you unhappily and then chased you into the waves. Now he lays there, face smashed against the blanket, same as you. It’s mid afternoon. He’s usually a bit sleepy in the afternoons, you’ve found.
He nods, prying one eye open. “Not any good, though.”
You scoff out a laugh. He grins back at you. There’s sand stuck in his eyebrow, and you’re about to reach out and brush it away when a shadow falls over you. You look up and find George standing there. Lily, Lando and Alex are following him up the beach.
“Margarita time?” George asks, grinning happily. You push yourself halfway up, propping up on your elbows, and nod your head. “It’s always margarita time, Georgie.”
Dinner that night is grilled shrimp and veggies and bread warmed up in the oven that all the boys eat too much of, promising not to tell their coaches. Someone asks Oscar to say “throw another shrimp on the Barbie,” which then devolves into bad attempts at Australian accents, which then further devolves into bad attempts at everyone’s accents. You’re left laughing so hard your stomach hurts, the sun setting, the warm ocean air washing over your arms on the back deck.
Oscar’s sitting next to you, and he wipes your tears of laughter away with a napkin and says, “You alright, love?” in what can only be a bad attempt at Lando’s accent.
You snort with laughter. The noise sends Oscar into a fit of giggles, too, and soon the two of you are bent over in your chairs, heads bumping into each others, as Lando tries to insist he doesn’t sound like that and Max assures him that he definitely does. When you finally catch your breath and sit up, they’re moving on to mocking Sebastian’s accent, because they always start making fun of their coach eventually. Lily’s watching you, though, a knowing look in her eyes.
You sit on the beach blanket next to the water after dinner, another margarita in your hand. There’s far too much salt on the rim- courtesy of Alex, who’d coated nearly the whole cup in it- which makes it taste a bit like the ocean. Oscar’s sitting next to you, a cup of his own in his hand. The sun is low in the sky, the horizon turning the lightest shade of purple as it turns to night. Oscar’s bare thigh brushes against yours, and you hold your breath.
The back door to the house slides open, and you turn to look. It’s Charles. “We are going to the store,” he calls out. “Are you coming?”
You wrinkle your nose. “None of you are driving, right?”
Charles shakes his head. “We will walk. We want snacks, and we are out of tequila.”
You nod. “I’ll stay here!”
“Me too,” Oscar adds.
“Okay, I am trusting you two,” Charles teases. “Don’t burn the house down.”
Charles calls out something unintelligible and probably not in English. Inside, you hear Max yell for him, also not in English. The door shuts. Oscar sucks in a sharp breath. There’s tequila in your bloodstream and salt on your lips and the heat of his leg next to yours. You close your eyes, the sea breeze dancing over your skin, and you can still feel his lips on your cheek after that game, weeks ago now. You sit for a while, basking in it.
A few minutes later, present day Oscar’s shoulder bumps against yours. You open your eyes and turn to look at him. His cheeks are rosy pink. You wonder if he’d put enough sunscreen on.
“This is really nice,” he says, softly.
The sand is turning cold beneath your feet. You shiver slightly. He leans into you, warm arm pressed to yours, thigh pressing tighter against your skin. Your heart stutters in your chest.
“Mhm,” you agree, blinking softly at him and biting your lower lip, just to watch and see the way his eyes dart across your face. “George’s aunt is a sweetheart for letting us stay here.”
Oscar hums in agreement, but he shakes his head, hair flopping over his forehead in a soft swoop. “I meant… this.”
He nudges his leg against yours. Your stomach lurches in the best kind of way. He’s leaning back on the heels of his hands and staring at you while the waves crash onto the shore. His thumb brushes against the back of your hand, tiny grains of sand rolling between his skin and yours. You feel the electricity simmer up your arm and zap down your spine.
“Oh. Yeah,” you say, nodding in agreement. “It is.”
You’re not sure whether to laugh or cry or scream. He’s so close you swear you can feel his heartbeat, or maybe it’s just yours, pounding in your chest, going wild over the way he’s staring at you. He lifts his hand from the sand, the one farthest from you, keeps his other arm pressed to yours as he turns just slightly. When his hand comes up to cup your cheek, it feels so familiar. You remember blue paint on his thumb, brushed off on his pants, the poster leaning against the wall and his lips on your cheek. You want it again. You want more. You swear he leans in.
There’s a loud noise from inside the house, and he drops his hand into his lap. Your heart twists in your chest. You can feel the ghost of his fingertips on your skin when the back door opens. George yells something about playing flip cup. You don’t want to play flip cup- you want to stay here with Oscar and let him kiss you like you thought he was going to. But his hand is in his lap now, and he smiles sheepishly and starts to stand up, and you wonder if you imagined all of it.
…..
Two nights later, when everyone has gone to bed, you find yourself still wide awake. You’re buzzing, probably from the afternoon coffee you grabbed with Charles and Oscar at the cafe down the street. Max had said it was a bad idea. Charles is dead asleep upstairs, because caffeine has never really affected him. You’re busy thinking about two nights ago, Oscar’s hand on your face and the way he looked at you. You know it happened. You swear it happened. He’d been about to kiss you. Right? Maybe you're imagining things. Maybe it’s all in your head.
You’re sitting on the couch near the window, the glass of water Max poured you before he went to bed sitting half empty in your hand. You nearly spill it when someone clears their throat. You know without turning to look that it’s Oscar.
You stare out the window at the ocean. “Might go take a walk down by the water,” you suggest, just to see if he takes the bait.
Oscar hums. “I’d better go with. For safety, you know.”
You nod in agreement, not really seeing the need to protest. It’s a silly excuse, but you want him to come with. The two of you head for the doors, slipping in sandals along the way. The night air is cool, and you shiver slightly as you make your way down the beach. The sand is still sun warmed but cooling fast. The crash of the waves against the shore makes you sigh softly.
Oscar’s only a few steps behind you. The moon isn’t out yet, but you catch sight of a few stars in the sky. You stop at the spot where the waves meet the sand, and he walks up next to you. When you turn to look over your shoulder, all the lights in the house are off except the living room light the two of you left on. Oscar looks, too, and then steps closer. You feel like you should hold your breath, but you don’t. The air smells like salt. You wonder if the smell has seeped into Oscar’s hair and skin, or if he still smells like his shampoo and body wash. You hate that you know the scents of both.
“I love the ocean,” Oscar says, not for the first time that day.
You nod. “Me too.”
His fingers brush against yours where your hands hang at your sides. It sends a zap all the way up your arm, straight to your spine. Does he feel it too? That giddy feeling in your chest? The anxious feeling in the back of your brain? The want, deep in your gut, that makes you want to turn and press your lips to his. Does he feel it, too? You’d take a kiss on the forehead. Or another kiss on the cheek. Or just- if he would just move his hand a couple inches, just intertwine your fingers with his-
Like he’s read your mind, he does. He twists his fingers between yours loosely. You nearly choke on your own breath. Get it together. Your heart aches. You need, you want, does he?
“I…” he starts, then stops.
You turn. He’s already looking at you, face half lit up by the light on the back deck of the house. His lips look soft. They were, the one time you’ve felt them, pressed to your cheek in that hallway. His fingers fidget in yours, but he doesn’t pull away. You don’t either. The waves crash onto the shore over and over again. The sleeve of his hoodie brushes against your jaw when he cups the side of your face in his other hand. This time, you’re sure of it. You know what’s coming. He leans in, and you close your eyes.
If a kiss on the cheek sent butterflies wild in your stomach, this sends them through your whole body. Every nerve is on fire when his lips meet yours. Maybe it’s just because you’ve been waiting for so long. He’s warm against you, and his hand leaves your wrist to wrap around your waist and pull you close, and he tastes like rum and salt and smells like sunscreen. You tilt your head and let him deepen the kiss, let him take the lead, let him in. He’s smiling into it, and it makes your heart ache. When you tangle your hands in his hair, you can feel the sand stuck there, can feel the salt that still coats the strands from his swim earlier in the day. His hand slips to the back of your neck to hold you closer, and you melt for him, for the way he holds you so carefully and so surely, the warmth of him burning up your skin. He giggles into the kiss, light and airy and so Oscar it almost hurts, and you can’t help but match it.
He kisses you for what feels like forever. You can’t find it in you to complain.
…..
The rest of spring break tastes like coconut rum and tequila and Oscar. It feels like sun and sand and his hand wrapped up in yours, sneaking away at any chance you get. It smells like sunscreen and his cologne on the hoodie you stole from him, and it sounds like seagulls and his laughter, and the words he whispers into your ears when nobody’s nearby.
He steals you away while you’re in town, wandering the shops with everyone. He’s good at melting away into a crowd- and it is crowded, it’s spring break and everyone’s had the same idea as you. You hide in a souvenir store while you watch your friends disappear, and you don’t even feel guilty about it. You can’t, not when Oscar’s tangling his fingers with yours and pointing at a little beaded bracelet he says would look good on you. When he takes it up to the counter and buys it, and then loops it around your wrist for you, you feel absolutely giddy. You feel it even more when he kisses your temple sweetly. You rejoin the group a while later, just as they’re starting to worry. Nobody notices the bracelet, but you run your fingers over the beads all day.
Later in the week, he suggests a trip to the ice cream shop when everyone’s half asleep, mid afternoon. You’re tired, too, but when he says it, you suddenly feel wide awake. Once the two of your are out of sight of the house, he pulls you under his arm, hand squeezing at your shoulder the whole walk there. He buys you ice cream and shares his with you, too, and when he stops to kiss you on the walk back he tastes sweeter than ever.
There’s a lot of that- kissing. Anytime the two of you are alone. It’s overwhelming in the best way. Like the two of you have been holding back for so long that you can’t quite find it in you to stop. You sneak out of your rooms after everyone has gone to bed and meet on the beach at night, just the sea and the stars bearing witness as it all falls into place. You point out constellations, and Oscar tells you about the night sky in Australia, and how it feels different here. He finds you seashells admiring the way and gives them to you at night, and you start doing the same, each of you building up collections. They cover the empty space on the nightstand in your room.
One afternoon, you walk to the park nearby, all together, with a little picnic. It’s sweet- Max and Lando throw a football back and forth, and you sit in the grass and have cheese and crackers and fruit and watch people pass by. Eventually, George, Alex, and Lily head back to start dinner, and then Max, Lando, and Charles leave to pick up drinks on the way home. You and Oscar linger, though. They make it so easy to sneak away, really. You take the chance to lay on the blanket with him, your bed on his stomach, staring up at puffy white clouds in the big blue sky. His hand draws patterns on your shoulders.
When you finally head for the house, you walk past a set of soccer goals on a patch of grass. It’s easier, now, especially because it’s not the field where you got hurt. Oscar squeezes your hand anyways. It’s sweet. Something makes you slow to a stop. There’s a ball sitting there, in the middle of the field, black and white in stark contrast to the green. You drop his hand, and he makes a mild sound of protest. You walk over to the ball and toe at it gingerly, feeling the way it rolls under your foot.
He just eyes you carefully,
“We’ll take it easy,” you promise, and he nods. “I just…”
You can’t explain it. For years, you’ve never wanted to go near a soccer field or goal or ball. For years, this idea has brought tears to your eyes. But right now, you want to try. Oscar takes a step closer. He’s smiling.
You kick the ball at his feet. He passes it lightly back to you. The two of you exchange a look and take off down the grass together. You zig zag to every corner of the grass, not trying to get anywhere in any sort of hurry. You build up speed as you get closer and close to the goal, passing the ball back and forth with him. It feels good, to move your body and feel the grass beneath your feet. To feel the ball bounce off your shoe, to watch him accept the pass that you’ve placed so perfectly. You’re rusty, stiff, out of practice, but a little part of this still feels like home. There’s an achy feeling in your body that starts to melt away.
You don’t even realize what you’re doing, at first. He passes you the ball, and you’re in range of the net, and- you dart around him, eyes on the prize, now. He laughs, tries to go after you, catching on nearly immediately. But you’re too good at this, too fast- he’s used to blades on his feet and ice beneath him, not tennis shoes and grass and a ball rolling in front of you. You look up, find the goal, see your spot, and kick.
It sails through the air, hits the net, and falls to the ground. Goal. Behind you, Oscar cheers loud enough that when you close your eyes, you can imagine it’s all still there. That you’re really playing soccer, in front of a crowd again, scoring a goal, taking your team to a victory. You soak it in, for just a moment.
When you open your eyes, you’re on your back, staring at the sky, Oscar’s face looking down at you. His brows are furrowed.
“You’re not hurt, are you?” He asks.
You shake your head. You know the tears in your eyes must contradict that. Oscar shifts on his feet for a second and then collapses to the ground next to you, legs kicked out away from yours, his head right next to your shoulder. The two of you form a little v on the grass, staring up at the sky.
“I didn’t realize how much I missed that,” you admit. “The… running, and the chasing, and the… scoring.”
His hand brushes against yours, then comes down to lay flat atop the back of it. His palm is warm and soft. You try to breathe normally. It’s easier said than done.
“You could always try again,” he says, quietly. “Do a club sport, or a league of some sort…”
You shake your head. “Nah, my knee is already starting to hurt.”
You rub your fingers against the ache. He sighs, heavily, and squeezes your hand. You turn your head to look at him. He’s close, closer than you realized. It wouldn’t take much for you to lean in, and nobody else is here, so you do. Just a short kiss, because you’re laying on a soccer field and there are kids and families nearby. But you want him to know how much this means to you. When you pull away, his cheeks are pink, and you think he understands.
Eventually, you know everyone will start to wonder where the two of you are. So when Oscar stands up and offers you a hand, you let him pull you up off the ground. He brushes grass off your back, and when you get back to the house, you head upstairs to change and hope nobody questions the grass stains on your shirt.
One night, after everyone’s in bed, you curl up on the beach on a blanket, your head against his chest. You listen to the waves and stare up at the stars. He draws lazy patterns on your back, his hand against your bare skin under the sweatshirt you stole from him.
“This is a real thing, right?” He says, quietly. “Not just a spring break thing?”
You smile into his chest, your cheeks suddenly warm. “God, I would hope so.”
“Okay, cool,” he says, in a very calm voice, like you can’t hear the thud of his heartbeat. “Cause I‘ve wanted this for a while.”
“Me too,” you murmur back.
Then he kisses you again, hand under your chin to pull your face to his. He’s a little sunburnt, and you can feel the heat of it on his skin when you brush your lips against his cheeks. Then again, maybe he’s just blushing. The way he smiles makes you think that might just be it.
…..
Keeping it from the rest of your friends is sort of… unspoken. It’s easy, like this, just the two of you. Easy to kiss and hold and talk and laugh without the pressure. You try to remind yourself that it’s okay to take it slow. That you have time to figure things out. And it’s easier to figure things out when you don’t have 6 other people’s opinions on it, let alone the whole team’s once they all find out. Whenever someone walks into the room and Oscar pulls his hand from yours, he scans your face, like he’s checking to make sure it’s okay. You always smile in return, and he lets out a little relieved sigh.
The very last night, you all order large amounts of pizza and breadsticks, and you spread out on blankets on the beach for dinner. The sun is low in the sky, and everything is golden. Oscar finds a spot next to you, laid out on the blanket. Max is already talking hockey plays, Lando listening intently while Alex rolls his eyes. George, Charles, and Lily are chatting about starfish. And Oscar is watching you, eyelashes fluttering against pink tinged cheeks. He’s being painfully obvious. When you smile back, you know you are too. For a moment, though, it doesn’t matter. Nobody’s paying attention anyways, as he brushes his fingers against the back of your hand where it lays on the blanket. It’s just you and him, for just a moment.
The next morning, before you head to the airport, you wake up early and find Oscar in the kitchen, cutting up fruit. His hair is a tousled mess, eyelids heavy, but when he sees you, he smiles, bright and warm and sweet. You walk over and slip between him and the counter, wrapping your arms around his waist.
“I was busy, you know,” he mumbles, though he doesn’t pull away when you lean in to kiss him.
“Mm,” you sigh. He tastes sweeter than normal. He’s definitely been sneaking bites of fruit as he goes. “Mango. My favorite.”
His cheeks are flushed. “Thought I was your favorite.”
You shrug and wink. “Close second.”
He swipes a piece off the counter behind you and presses it to your lips. You give him a closed lip smile as you eat it, feeling warm all over. He leans in and kisses you again when you’re done chewing, and you have the sudden, strong urge to pull him close, to press your hips into his, to let him pin you against the counter. But your friends are probably all about to wake up, so instead, you pull away and press a finger into the swell of his cheek. He laughs and kisses the furrow between your brows.
“Heading home today,” he mumbles, smile falling slightly.
You nod. “But it’s not just a spring break thing, remember?”
He nods again, the smile coming back to his lips. “Yeah. Just. Do you think we need to tell them?”
You know what he’s talking about. Or who he’s talking about, really. You tilt your head, chewing on your lower lip. “Do you think we need to?”
He sighs, nose bumping against yours. “They’re your best friends.”
And. Oh. Right. You hadn’t really thought about it like that, that it’s not just his teammates and your friends. It’s Lando and Max. Your chest twists. You like that it’s just you and Oscar, but you think about them, about how you share everything, and you wonder if they’ll be upset. Not even that it’s him, but just that you didn’t tell them. On the other hand, they’re likely to get overprotective and weird when they do find out. Max banned a guy you went on a date with from all parties your sophomore year, until Charles told him off for it, but by then it was too late. The guy was a jerk, which was half the issue, but still.
You blow out a puff of air, and then you have an idea. “I might… tell them I’m seeing someone, to start,” you suggest. “Just not who. Just… someone. Is that okay?” You ask.
“I think that’s a good idea,” he says.
“Okay. Cool. Me too,” you say with a nod.
Oscar giggles. You hear a door open, and footsteps. He groans, and you lean in one last time to press a kiss to his lips before you slip away. You sit down on a barstool just before George walks in, scrubbing sleep from his eyes.
“Morning,” he says, voice scratchy. “Ready to go home?”
“No,” you admit, and Oscar hums in agreement.
When he dishes out the fruit to everyone later, he gives you most of the mango. You grin up at him, wide eyed and feeling so, so happy. When you break his gaze and look across the table, you find Charles staring back at you, a knowing smirk on his face, and you wonder if you’ve been caught. Maybe you just look like a girl with a crush. You still feel like one, really.
You all walk down to the water one last time, dipping your feet into the waves as they crash against the sand. Oscar’s hand brushes against yours as he does the same. You don’t want to ever lose this feeling. The sun on your skin, the water tugging at your feet, and Oscar, next to you, feeling the same way you do.
When you pack the bags into the Uber to head for the airport, you feel a wave of sadness wash over you. You want nothing more than to stay, to never worry about school again, to let Oscar wrap you up in his arms and never leave. You pout, and Max catches you, laughing and pulling you into a loose hug.
“It’s okay, Bunny,” he murmurs, ruffling your hair. “We’ll be back before you know it.”
You don’t say it, but you think it- he and Lando are graduating this year. There’s a good chance they won’t be back next year, too busy with work or real life or whatever comes after college for them. Your heart twists. And Oscar- will he still be yours by then? Not just a spring break thing, you remember, but you have a strong urge to plant your feet in the sand and try to keep them all here. You watch your friends pack bags in the trunk and tease each other and laugh and your chest aches.
“Hey,” Lando says, quietly, sneaking up your other side. “We’ll be back.”
He knows. Max does too, but Lando really knows, because you think he feels it too. Max is trying to play hockey after college, but beyond beer leagues and pickup games, this year will be it for Lando. Senior year is exciting, but it’s a year full of lasts, too.
“Promise?” You ask, quietly.
He links his pinky with yours. “Promise.”
So you climb into the car, and you end up wedged between Oscar and Charles in the row of seats at the back of the car. Max is in the front seat, chatting away to the driver, and Lando’s already leaning his head against the door, half asleep. You press your shoulder into Oscar’s. He spots your hand on the seat between you and reaches out, brushes his fingers against the back of your hand. When you lean your head on his shoulder and let your eyes fall half closed, nobody questions it- you do it to all of them, all the time.
The beach house disappears in the rearview. Oscar presses a kiss to the top of your head when nobody’s looking, and you start to believe everything will really be okay.

Name: Fujitsumon
Debut: Digimon Pendulum 2.0 Deep Savers (kind of. It's a little complicated. But don't worry about that)
Fujitsumon is a darling little eyes-in-a-void barnacle! With their brown exteriors, they really do bring to mind Jawas, world-renowned eyes-in-a-void creature. This is a rare design choice for a barnacle, and a barnacle is a rare creature inspiration choice! Too rare! They are such incredible and fascinating animals, and should absolutely be represented as such, and not just background decorations!
Fujitsumon is essentially a Digimon by technicality, an accessory of a creature, and I'm fine with that. They're acknowledged as creatures, and that's enough for me! They're almost always seen attached to the surface of another creature, and that sure is barnacle of them!
Tumblr media
This is their host, Octomon! Or Octmon, if you don't like the dub name, but I think Octomon sounds better. Octomon wears a clay pot on its head, and Fujitsumon live on top of that! This is a smart setup. If I lived underwater I would love to wear a hat that some barnacle friends of mine could live on! Fujitsumon and Octomon have a mutualistic relationship going on, where the barnacles will sense danger, and warn the octopus of it, getting the whole group out of danger!
Tumblr media
The reason I wasn't so sure about Fujitsumon's debut is that in Deep Savers, Octomon's sprite looks like this, not nearly detailed enough to even depict some barnacles! However, it does seem like the official art was made around this time, so I might as well consider this Fujitsumon's debut too.
There isn't much to Fujitsumon, but I love it! It's cute, it's a barnacle, and it's almost a "secret" creature, and that makes it, dare I say, even more fun than if it was a standalone obtainable Digimon! A charming little oddity in the digital world.
That's what I thought until I found out this little barnacle has a whole dedicated ANIME EPISODE! YEEHAW! This is the best barnacle-related cartoon episode I've ever seen! Better than SpongeBob SquarePants episode 164a Barnacle Face! Why, even better than Benny the Barnacle (2022)! Can you believe it? Better than Benny the Barnacle? I can.
Tumblr media
In this episode of Digimon Ghost Game, the human protagonist is tormented by premonitions of disasters occurring to everyone around him, revealed to be caused by a Fujitsumon settled on his head. A land mammal is no place for a barnacle! Wouldn't it be crazy if you could go to the beach and leave with a barnacle settled on your fingernail? What would you even do? I would probably feel obligated to dip my finger into the ocean regularly to let it filter-feed. If only we had air plankton!
Tumblr media
This Fujitsumon, as well as others that are affecting other humans, come from one particular Octomon, who got so angry at his barnacles that they Left. These are no real-life, cemented-in-place-for-the-rest-of-their-lives barnacles! They can just get up and leave if they're bothered. I bet real barnacles wish they could do that! It would be so embarrassing to end up settled right next to a turtle's... hehe... I shan't say...!
Octomon's petty outburst was over his magic brain barnacles not using their clairvoyance to help him win at a mobile game. Now, because of his Gamer Moment, there are Fujitsumon stuck directly to peoples' heads, which can cause these heads to explode. Maybe he should have just played a good mobile game, like Pico Pets Puzzle! *high fives someone offscreen*
Tumblr media
Don't worry! Everything's ok in the end, like it always is with invertebrate friends! Octomon apologizes, the lead Fujitsumon gathers the whole crusty crew, and everything is fine except for the physical damage that has already been done, but don't worry! The virtual invertebrates are all friends again! Squishy or chitinous, none of us have spines, and that's what matters!
If you know of any obscure barnacles in media, please let me know in the notes! And until the next high tide, remember to close your armored plates to prevent dessication!

The Dangers of Hope Epilogue
Tumblr media
Series Summary: When Y/N shows up at Camp Chitaqua with her little girl in tow, her bloodshot eyes leave no doubt that she's infected. Or is she? Everything Dean has come to know for certain over the last five hellish years, is about to be challenged.
Pairings/Characters in the series: Endverse!Dean x Reader, Emma (OFC), Castiel, Sam Winchester, Lucifer, Michael, Zachariah, Risa, Johnston (OMC), Patrick (OMC), Theresa (OFC), other survivors and soldiers.
Series Explicit 18 +/Warnings: Show level violence, some gore, angst, smut, fluff all the usual for a series of mine. ❤️ Endverse!Dean (that's a warning for his anger and callousness as well as his extreme hotness. 😁) Each chapter will have their own specific warnings.
Chapter Warnings: None.
Word Count: 5,849
A/N: So, I've had this idea for quite a while. Basically since I watched The Last of Us. I loved Pedro in the role of Joel, but I kept thinking how incredible Jensen would have been. Which then made me think of how amazing he was as Endverse!Dean which then led me to this idea. Lol! I've stolen the premise of Ellie's storyline from TLOU, but made her a grown up, a reader insert, and a love interest for Dean.
If you've never seen TLOU, don't worry - you don't need to have seen it to understand this story. 😊
I've taken some liberties with the Endverse in my story, changed a few things from canon, but kept lots of things too.
I sincerely hope you enjoy the story. It will be ten chapters and I will do my very best to post one chapter every weekend. ❤️
A/N 2: So this is it, the epilogue, the end. I'm so sad to say goodbye to this series. I've really loved writing it, even if it kicked my ass a couple of times. I know I've said this already, but it definitely bears repeating - I'm so unbelievably grateful for the love and support you've all shown this series. Thanks so much - and I hope you enjoy this little peak into Dean and Y/N's lives a decade later. This ended up about twice as long as I'd planned. Lol! Enjoy! ❤️

Spring, 10 Years Later
The rumbling engine of the Impala was silenced as Dean pulled into the garage and parked Baby in her spot. The camp had eight cars now, so they'd had to expand the garage two summers before. The cars got shuffled around all the time, but Baby always kept her spot on the end. Everyone knew it was her spot.
The late afternoon sun shone in through the garage windows as Dean removed the keys from the ignition and pushed them back into his black, denim jacket pocket.
Sam was sitting beside him and shot him a questioning look when Dean didn't immediately jump out. “Dean?”
Dean nodded and then looked over at his little brother. “Do you think I did the right thing?”
Sam sighed. He'd already answered this question from his brother, in various forms, three or four times.
The Deerling Survivors Camp, a small camp located almost seventy miles away, had sent a message to Dean a week earlier, requesting a face-to-face meeting. Dean had asked Sam to come along and they'd stayed overnight at the fledgling camp. The pseudo-leader there, just a young kid who’d been thrust into the role, had asked them to let Deerling join Camp Chitaqua, and after seeing the shape of the camp, Dean had agreed on the spot.
Years earlier the four smaller camps surrounding Chitaqua had joined them, expanding the camp by miles and miles and raising the population by more than two hundred people. It had been a big decision, and Dean had consulted with the council for a couple days before agreeing to the expansion.
It was a very good decision in the end, since they now had enough land to plant six, four acre farm plots. They made sure to rotate crops, leaving one field fallow every season and using it for grazing pasture. But all that fertile land meant that the campers all had plenty of fresh vegetables. Their expanded size also allowed them to enlarge their barn, so they could now house and care for four cows and a bull, two horses, dozens of chickens, a rooster, two pigs, and eight sheep.
They'd bartered and traded with other camps for most of their animals or found them wandering around alone and unclaimed. But they bought their sheep from a farmer living in what used to be Iowa. A lot of farmers had started over there, scratching out a new life from the soil, now that the world had started turning once again.
Seven years ago they'd finally succeeded in producing a vaccine. It had taken a lot of hard work. For three years, every single person that worked on it did so with nothing more than a promise of a better tomorrow.
It had taken another two plus years to get the word and the vaccine out to people, but now most of the population was vaccinated. The vaccine had also been carried overseas. They couldn't be sure how things were going across the pond because communication was still very limited. But they'd heard rumors that it was going well.
Some infrastructure was up and running again; they had electricity in some places, and some cities had running water again. There were even some places that had phone lines connected - in and around the bigger cities where people were beginning to congregate.
Things seemed to be progressing quickly out west in the former California, where they'd reportedly started broadcasting some form of Television again. Not very many people had TVs anymore to watch, but it seemed comforting to people just to know something resembling their former lives was returning.
Not everything was perfect, of course. There was no centralized government, or structured, widespread laws. Most areas had variations of camps like Chitaqua with leaders in charge, or occasionally small, internally elected governments that ran the camp. Lawlessness still existed in a lot of places, but it was being beaten further back every day as groups banded together.
There were also still some areas that were uninhabitable because massive groups of Croats still roamed there. The researchers that had created the vaccine were working on a cure for those who’d already been infected, but thus far they’d proved unsuccessful. Croat attacks still happened sometimes, but the vaccine meant that people just had to deal with the bite itself, making sure it was healing properly - something that was becoming easier as medical stations were springing up in and around larger populations as well, as doctors went back to healing people as they’d been trained to do.
Chitaqua had a physician, Dr. Turner, who lived in the camp. The Medical Tent was no more and instead the doctor’s office and their cache of medical supplies were now housed in a big log structure that had been tiled inside to keep it as clean and sanitary as possible. Patrick was happy to be rid of guard duties these days, working alongside Dr. Turner to watch over the health and well-being of the campers.
There weren’t many tents left nowadays either. They had a bunch stored away in case the camp ended up with a big influx of new campers and temporary housing was needed. But most people lived in log cabins of varying sizes, dotted over the two and a half square miles of the camp. There were well over five hundred people in the camp now, since amalgamating the four other camps. They also had a reputation for being a prosperous, strong community, so people tended to migrate there as well - which continued to add to their numbers.
Now, after the meeting with the Deerling camp, they’d be adding another ninety-six people to their ranks, inflating their population to nearly seven hundred people. Dean was worried about the fact that he’d made the decision to absorb the smaller camp without consulting the council this time.
The council was a group made up of eight other people besides Dean. Sam and Y/N were on it, as well as Brandy, Risa, Dr. Turner, and three other campers who were there representing the hunters, the farmers and the builders.
Day-to day decisions were still handled by Dean, but he relied on the council for other bigger decisions - taking their thoughts, ideas and opinions into account before he ultimately made a decision. Agreeing to take in another flock of people and develop another thirty acres of land was definitely one of those big decisions he’d normally take to the council, which was why, Sam knew, Dean had been second guessing his unilateral decision to say yes to Deerling’s request.
Sam shook his head at his brother as he answered Dean’s worry again. “Dean, you acted out of generosity, the council will understand. I can vouch for the fact that those campers need a lot of help very quickly. Those kids were starving, you could see that.”
Dean nodded. “Yeah, I know, but I just brought the camp more strain on resources with no benefits.”
Sam shrugged. “Well, there’s the land.”
Dean scoffed. “Yeah, unfarmable land that’s separated from us by almost eighty miles. And Brisbane camp sits between us and Deerling, and they already think we’re trying to take them over. Joining with a group on the other side of them is gonna make them even more suspicious and possibly turn them unfriendly.” He rubbed a hand over his face. “I should have consulted the council.”
“Dean, there’s no way the council would have opted to just let a bunch of kids and sick people die. They’re definitely going to agree with your decision, and this way you’ve simply ensured that we can get food and medicine out to them by tomorrow instead of making them wait days for it. Trust me, you made the right decision.”
Dean grunted his response, still unsure.
Sam slapped the back of his hand against Dean’s shoulder. “Now, I’m gonna go talk with the Doc about getting supplies together and coming out there with me tomorrow. Will you talk with Brandy later about food?”
Dean nodded. “Yeah.” A smile finally lit his face. “And then I’m goin’ home.”
Sam smiled and opened his door to climb out of the Impala. “Good plan. Give Y/N and the kids a kiss for me.”
Dean climbed out too and slammed his door behind him. He called Sam back as his brother began to walk away.
“We should also figure out a time and day to have a sit down with the new leader from Brisbane, talk with her about our intentions regarding Deerling. She’s tough, but she seems more approachable and level-headed than their last leader. Maybe we can convince her we’re not looking to take anything over.”
Sam nodded. “That’s a good idea.”
Dean frowned. “What’s her name again?”
“Eileen Leahy.”
Dean noticed his brother’s cheeks turn pink and he immediately turned back into an annoying big brother, his grin wide.
“Right, right, you met with her alone last time. She’s cute, huh? Something we should know? Maybe you should invite her over to our place for dinner next week. We can have our little sit down conversation then. What do you think?”
Sam had already turned and started walking away. “You’re an idiot!” He called back over his shoulder. But Dean made a mental note to tell Y/N all about it later.
With Y/N firmly in mind he started out across the camp. Their cabin was situated on top of a low hill in the Southwest section of the camp, not all that far from where their old red tent used to sit.
They’d built their cabin when they came back to Chitaqua eight years ago after helping to set up the research facility. The vaccine was still a year away, but they’d done all they could do and they were ecstatic that after two years of traveling back and forth from camp, gathering doctors, researchers and searching for other psychic kids, (they’d only found two others) and after Y/N had given gallons of her blood to science, they could finally come home for good.
Not long after returning home, Y/N realized she was pregnant and Dean became obsessed with building them a beautiful home. It was around that time that the camps had all joined together and building homes for everyone became a priority of the camp.
The builders grew in numbers as they took on apprentices and taught them the trade so that more people in the camp could join in the work. It took almost four years of constant building, but eventually all five hundred plus campers had permanent homes.
Gotta pull the tents out for the Deerling folks, Dean thought as he walked, his mind immediately occupied with figuring out the logistics of where the new campers could stay, and how they could join in the life of the camp, once they were all healthy.
He stopped by Food Storage and spoke with Brandy as Sam had requested. And just as his brother had suspected, when he explained the situation, Brandy was one council member who was very glad he’d made the decision he had. He felt more sure now that the others would feel the same.
As Dean wound his way through camp he got stopped quite a few times, people wanting to talk with him about one concern or another. He generally pointed them in the direction of the person or group in the camp that could help them. But he also got stopped by friends wanting to say hi and talk for a moment or two.
He was happy to talk, but anxious to get home to Y/N.
He looked out towards the large school building where Y/N still taught every day. The new building had been built on the site where the main cabin had been burned down. It was even bigger than the old cabin, with six rooms for the seven teachers that worked there now.
Y/N was also the principal of the school for all intents and purposes; she and the other teachers taught over two hundred kids from ages five to sixteen. Theresa had finished school and immediately joined the staff as a teacher, working with Y/N every day and loving it. Brandy was so proud.
But Dean wasn’t surprised to see the building empty now, however; he knew it was a day off. He picked up his pace, weaving through the buildings that resided where the old tents had taken up space.
They’d greatly expanded the food storage, and had an entirely different rations system now that fresh vegetables, fruit, fish and game made up the vast majority of their diet. Brandy was still in charge and was constantly innovating to make things easier and to stretch their food as far as they could in order to feed everyone.
The former tent area also housed three large storage sheds, a small building that worked as an office/meeting space for whatever group needed to use it, and a small mill where they processed the wheat they grew - that process had included a steep learning curve, but they’d eventually made it work.
There was also a small, open area where a kind of market had popped up organically as the campers traded amongst themselves for things like homemade jewelry, homemade clothes, and other non-essentials.
He walked behind the buildings and began climbing the gently rising path that led to their cabin at the top of the hill. About halfway home he heard loud barking and looked up to see their seven year old Bernese-Husky cross, Clifford, bounding towards him, the way he usually did when any of the family came home.
“Hey, boy.” Dean said softly, scratching him behind the ears. “Miss me?”
Clifford barked happily in answer and ran ahead and then back to where Dean stood, obviously urging him on towards home. Dean laughed and sped up, chasing after the big dog who sometimes still acted like a puppy.
As the path through the trees ended, opening up into their wide front yard, Dean sighed deeply. “Home sweet home.” He murmured.
Even though he'd been away less than two days, he was still so happy to be home. He felt the peace that filled him up every time he stepped around the last bend in the path and caught sight of their home in the distance.
The way smoke curled lazily from the chimney and the scent of something delicious wafted through the half open Dutch door, never failed to make him ache to get his arms around his wife and bask in her light. Dean shook his head at his sentimental thoughts, but hurried his pace to get inside.
As he drew closer however, something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye and he turned his head to see his son walking East, coming out from behind the house. Dean figured he was heading over to his friend Freddie's, and he was about to continue on into the cabin, but then he noticed what his eight-year-old was holding in his hand.
“Gabriel Eric Winchester!”
Dean's voice bellowed out, freezing the young boy where he stood. Dean strode towards him, anger clear on his face. To the boy's credit, even when he turned and saw his father's anger, he still walked forward slowly, until he was standing directly in front of him.
The gun he held, however, was tucked just behind his back, as though he was hoping Dean hadn't noticed it.
Dean held his hand out. “Give that to me this second.”
Gabe's face fell and he brought the gun forward reluctantly, dropping it onto Dean's palm.
Dean immediately checked to make sure the small, .38 caliber, Smith and Wesson revolver was unloaded and when he saw it was, he held it in his fist, directly in front of Gabe's eyes.
“What the hell do you think you're doing with this?”
His son's eyes were wide and they got watery quickly.
He shrugged. “I was just gonna bring it to Freddie's. Josh said he could teach us to shoot.” He said, referring to his friend’s older brother. “Just cans on a fence.” He was quick to reassure Dean.
“And did you ask your mother if you could remove a gun from the weapons chest?” Dean asked, already well aware of the answer.
Gabe shook his head. “No.” He said quietly.
“How did you get it?” Dean asked brusquely.
Gabriel’s voice was still soft as he admitted what he’d done. “I grabbed it yesterday when mom took out a rifle to scare away some raccoons that were trying to get into the compost. Josh said he could teach us if we had guns. So when I saw it last night I just…” He trailed off as he looked up at Dean's face.
“So what you're telling me,” Dean said quietly, “is that while your mother's back was turned you STOLE a gun and planned to use it without asking either of us for permission.”
Gabe's tears spilled down his cheek at his father's disappointed tone and accurate words. He nodded and then sniffed.
“I'm sorry.” He said thickly.
Dean crouched down so he could look his son in the eye. “Gabe, a gun is not a toy. I thought you knew this. It's not something to mess around with or use on a whim. It is a weapon. It's incredibly dangerous. If you'd gone off and started shooting, even just at cans, you could have seriously hurt or killed yourself or your friends. Do you understand me?”
Gabe nodded but bit his lip. “But you carry a gun.” He said, pointing to the ever present gun strapped to Dean’s thigh. “And you started using guns when you were even younger than me. I heard you talking about it to mom before. And I…” He sniffled again. “I just wanted to be like you.”
Dean sighed and shook his head. “Oh, buddy, I want you to be so much more than me. Your mom and I, we've worked really hard to make things better for you guys, to make the world safer so that when you grow up, hopefully you won’t have to walk around with a gun strapped to you at all times. It’s my job to protect the people in this camp. That’s why I carry a gun, and why I sometimes carry a rifle. But that’s not your job. Your job is to just be a little boy.”
Dean saw Gabriel pout a bit about being called a little boy. He smiled gently and squeezed his son’s shoulders. “Trust me, buddy, you should enjoy being a kid, don’t try to grow up too quickly.”
Gabe nodded begrudgingly and Dean pulled his son in for a hug. After a moment, he pulled back from him and stood up straight again, before nodding towards the cabin. “Go to your room now until supper, and when you come out, you’ll owe your mother an apology for going behind her back. Also, nothing but school and home for a week, do you understand?”
Gabe looked like he wanted to argue, but thought better of it when Dean gave him a stern look. “Yes, sir.” He said in acceptance and turned to run into the cabin.
“Gabriel!” Dean called. When his son turned back, the tear tracks on his grubby cheeks still visible, Dean spoke quietly but with conviction. “I love you and that’s why I know you can do better.”
Gabe’s face lost some of its forlorn look and he gave Dean a slightly awkward smile, lightly banging his fist against the side of his leg. “Love you too, Dad.” He said quickly before bolting for the house.
Dean shook his head and slipped the gun into his inside jacket pocket. He’d have to have a few more conversations with his son about gun safety and responsibility, but he was confident he could drill the dangers into him.
He walked up the stairs to the front door, more than ready to see Y/N and his girls. When he walked inside, however, he could hear voices coming from behind the kitchen door, and they didn’t sound very happy.
He pushed open the swinging door and saw Y/N and Emma inside. Y/N’s face lit up. “Dean!” She said happily as she saw him and crossed to the door to pull him down for a kiss.
“Ew.” Emma said.
It was the standard reaction from all of their kids when they kissed in front of them. Emma had a hand over her eyes as Dean finished the kiss and looked over to where she stood by the sideboard that held all their plates, cups and glasses.
“You can look now, kiddo, we’re all finished.” Dean told her with a grin. “For the moment.”
Emma rolled her eyes and made Dean chuckle. Y/N frowned up at him. “Did I hear you yelling at Gabe?”
Dean nodded. “Yeah, gotta talk to you about that, but you guys sounded angry when I came in. Anything wrong?”
Y/N looked at Emma and shrugged. “I’ve been telling Emma that she needs to invite her new friend for dinner.”
Dean’s brow wrinkled as he looked at Emma. “You don’t want to bring your friend over for dinner?”
Emma looked at Y/N with frustration, clearly annoyed that she’d told Dean anything.
Dean tried again. “What’s going on kiddo, since when don’t you want us to meet your friends? Who is it, by the way? Didn’t realize any new kids had started at the school.”
Y/N shook her head. “Jeffrey’s not a new student, he’s just a new…friend.” She said meaningfully.
Dean caught on and his face immediately dissolved into a scowl. “Oh.” He said without enthusiasm, crossing his arms over his chest.
“See?” Emma barked out, pointing at Dean, but talking to Y/N. “I told you this is how he’d be!!”
“What?” Dean asked defensively. “What are you talking about?”
Emma folded her arms, her posture and scowl mirroring Dean’s. “You get like this every time I bring a boy home, even when he’s absolutely just a friend. You scare the shit out of them!”
“Emma!” Y/N said, reprimanding her for her language..
But Dean just scoffed. “I don’t know what you mean. How do I scare them?”
Emma glared at him. “You interrogate them, Daddy, you know you do.”
Dean rolled his eyes. “Come on, if they’re too freaked out to answer a few simple questions then-”
“Simple questions?” Emma interrupted with a humorless laugh. “When I invited Timothy Sutherland over here you forced him to sit down and answer a thousand questions about his family, his background, where he grew up, what his plans were when we finished school. He ran out of here and never looked back.”
Dean threw his arms out. “Do you really wanna date a loser like that anyway? Who can’t even answer a couple questions?”
“Ugh!” Emma stomped her foot and stormed out the back door.
Silence reigned for a moment when Emma left before Y/N turned towards Dean, giving him a tilted smile. “So, welcome home!” She said in a would-be cheerful voice..
Dean sighed as he pulled her back into his arms and kissed the top of her head. They enjoyed the simple peace of each other’s embrace for a few minutes before Y/N spoke.
“What happened with Gabe?” She asked.
“He stole a gun and was gonna go shoot cans with Josh and Freddie Young.”
“What?” Y/N shouted, pulling back to look into Dean’s face.
He nodded. “Yeah, but don’t worry, I handled it. He’s in his room till supper and he’s grounded for a week. And I talked to him about how dangerous guns were. I have more conversations planned around the subject for the near future.”
Y/N shook her head before laying it back on Dean’s chest. “Good lord.”
After a couple minutes Y/N pulled away and poured them each a cup of coffee. They settled beside each other at the wooden table and instinctively linked fingers.
Dean took a sip of coffee and sighed. “I don’t really interrogate all her boyfriends, do I?”
Y/N pursed her lips. “Well, she’s never actually had a real boyfriend. And I don’t think that's because boys don’t want to date her. She’s smart and kind, beautiful and well-liked. So…” She shrugged. “It seems probable that the boys who like her are just too intimidated by her father - you know, the legend who fought monsters, Croats, angels, and WON - the soldier that leads the camp, wears a gun, and asks scary questions, all while donning a very good mean-face.”
Dean exhaled loudly, but before he could respond, their youngest child came bouncing into the room. She was just six years old, and looked so much like Emma at that age that it sometimes caught Dean off guard.
But she was definitely her own little bundle of energy. Having never known hunger or hardship, she was all bright smiles and busy excitement. It seemed as though she’d been born smiling and simply hadn't stopped. Very little bothered her, and she was absolutely spoiled by the entire family, including their found family members in the camp.
Everyone loved Hope.
“Daddy, you’re home!” Hope shouted as she jumped into his lap.
“Oof.” He grunted as she landed hard on some sensitive places. “Hey sweetheart!” He said, slightly out of breath.
“I missed you. Mommy said you might not come home until tomorrow, but I said that you would come home quick because you like to be home and you don’t like to stay away. Right?”
He nodded, trying to keep up with her racing words. “Yeah, baby, I love to be home.”
Before his sentence was ended Hope was on to her next thought. “I saw Emmie running out the back door and I tried to talk to her, but she looked mad. She was sitting on the tree swing in the back and I wanted a turn, so I told her to push me, but she just helped me on the swing and then she left to walk through the front yard and leave. And when I tried to follow her, she told me not to leave the yard and to go inside and see you cause you were back. So, I did.” She paused for breath before asking, “Why was Emmie mad?”
Y/N answered. “It’s nothing sweet pea. Why don’t you help me make supper? You can shuck the corn.”
Hope clapped her hands. “Yes, I want to pull all the strings off.”
Y/N held her daughter’s hand as she hopped off of Dean’s lap, and then leaned forward to kiss Dean slowly.
“Ew.” Hope said, shielding her eyes as her sister had.
Y/N smiled against Dean’s lips and whispered to him. “Go talk to your daughter.”
Dean nodded and stood up, bending to kiss Hope’s shiny chestnut curls on the crown of her head. “Hey, promise me something short one.” He said, continuing when she looked up at him. “Promise you’ll take a really long time to grow up, okay?”
She smiled at him, cheeks round and rosy. “Okay, daddy.”
He winked at Y/N who smiled indulgently. “She promises.”
***
Dean instinctively knew where he’d find his oldest child. She coped with stress and frustration the same way he did, the way he’d taught her to.
He walked through the door of the garage and sure enough, there was Emma, wearing old, blue coveralls that were too big for her, and bent over the hood of the little Chevy hatchback that sat next to the Impala. He knew she heard him come in, but she didn’t say anything, just kept working.
Dean hopped up on Baby’s hood and waited for her to be ready to talk. Eventually, she caved and looked over at him, her face slightly shuttered and a little hard to read. “Hi.” She said simply.
He smiled at her. “Hey kiddo.” He nodded at the open hood she was under. “How are things looking? Still need a new oil pan?”
Emma shook her head. “No, I replaced that last week. Risa found me one in the back of the storage shed.”
“Good.” Dean said. They were both quiet as Emma leaned back in and continued working.
After a moment she cleared her throat. “Looks like I’m gonna need new brake pads though. Think we could go to Lowry’s and see what he’s got.” She asked, referring to a guy in Brisbane who collected car parts and often traded with them.
“Sure. I’ll be busy for the next day or so. But we can go after that. One day after school?” He asked.
Emma nodded and stood up, wiping her hands on the rag she had stuffed in her pocket. She was quiet as she slammed the hood closed and then stepped out of the coveralls and hung them up on the hook beside the door.
She wandered over to Baby and hoisted herself up beside Dean on the hood. After a moment she leaned her head onto his shoulder. “I’m sorry I yelled at you, Dad. I’m glad you’re home.”
Dean lifted his arm so she could snuggle closer, and then wrapped it tightly around her shoulders, squeezing her into his side.
“No, you don’t have to apologize, baby. Apparently I’ve been unconsciously scaring away the tons of boys who would otherwise be beating down our door. Though, if I’m being completely truthful, it probably wasn’t entirely unconscious. Cause I just know not a one of them is gonna be good enough for you.”
Emma chuckled. “I don’t think it’s tons of boys, Daddy. And I’m not interested in a bunch of boys. I’m interested in Jeffery. And I really do want you to meet him. I think if you give him a chance you’d like him. He’s really sweet and funny and just…” She sighed. “I just like him.”
Dean squeezed her again and felt his chest constrict with love and bittersweet memories, remembering how she used to crawl into his lap and let him read her to sleep. Those days were long gone, but she was still that little girl to him and she probably always would be. But he knew she was growing up and he needed to loosen his grip, at least a little.
So he sighed now and nodded. “Okay, kiddo. If you like him, I’m sure I’ll like him too. So, invite him over for dinner one evening and I swear to keep my questions to a minimum and be perfectly cordial.”
Emma laughed. “I don’t know if cordial is ever a word I’d use to describe you, Dad. Let’s just try to leave out the death stares.”
***
That evening after dinner, it was Gabe and Hope’s turn to do dishes. Gabriel washed and Hope dried with some assistance from Dean. As they were finishing up, Keisha and Julianne showed up on their doorstep asking if Emma was free to go for a walk around camp.
Y/N nodded when Emma looked to her for permission. “That’s fine. Be home before dark. Oh, here.” She said to the twins, grabbing a bag and passing it to them. “Take these home to your mom, it's the dress patterns she loaned me.”
Keisha went to take it, but Y/N pulled it back. “On second thought, nevermind. I’ll bring it to her tomorrow afternoon. Gives me a reason to visit and gossip.”
The girls all laughed and then waved as they headed out the door. Dean had to smile as they walked away, their high pitched voices and giggles floating back to them on a breeze. Some things hadn’t changed and he was grateful.
Gabe went to his room to read, since he was housebound for the next while. Hope played with some well loved and worn out dolls for a little bit before they took her to her room and put her to bed. They tucked Gabe in not long after, and then took their coffee cups out onto their little front porch and sat in one of the big Adirondack chairs that Dean and Sam had built three years ago.
Y/N settled happily into Dean’s lap, her hands cupped around her warm mug. The late spring air was soft and warm, and the sounds of the camp drifted up the hill towards them. They listened contentedly for a little while as Clifford came out of the house and flopped down on Dean’s feet.
They talked about the kids and they talked about the Deerling camp; they talked about Sam, and Y/N admonished Dean for teasing him about Eileen.
“Be nice.” She scolded. “I hope he will bring her to dinner. If he likes her, I mean.”
They talked about anything and everything, and as the sun began to set, Emma came up the path and smiled as she saw her parents cuddled together in one chair. As much as she rolled her eyes and hid her face when they started getting kissy, she loved how much they loved each other. And she knew she’d never settle for anything less than what they had together.
She told them goodnight and went inside, Clifford rising slowly to follow her and sleep at the end of her bed as he did every night.
Soon the fireflies were buzzing loudly and the camp was getting quiet, so Dean stood up with Y/N still in his arms, leaving their coffee cups to sit on the porch until morning. She laughed as her husband carried her effortlessly into their bedroom.
He set her on her feet and locked the door before he buried his hands in her hair and pulled her to him, crushing her lips beneath his own. Y/N moaned softly and immediately pulled off his flannel shirt and yanked his t-shirt over his head so she could spread her hands across the wide expanse of his still beautifully muscled torso.
“God I missed you.” She breathed, even though it had only been one night. “I hate when you go away.”
He smiled against her skin as he stripped her down to her bra and panties. “Missed you too, sweetheart. Promise not to go anywhere ever again.”
Y/N laughed at his impossible promise as he lifted her so she could wrap her legs around his waist. He continued kissing her as he crossed the room and lowered her to the bed. She wouldn’t let go of him and pulled him down on top of her.
Dean chuckled at her hold on him and then mouthed his way down her body, licking and nipping at her skin. Ten years later she still had the ability to make him instantly hard and aching for her.
They spent most of the night making up for the one they’d been apart. In the darkest part of the night they found light and life in each other’s arms and fell asleep knowing tomorrow would dawn bright and busy - filled with responsibilities, joy, love and most of all…
…hope.

1 + 1 = S2
Loud music could be heard from both rooms in the house. Your neighbours have probably grown accostumed to such thing, it meant it was going out night. Part of them was relieved it wasn't another noisy game night, which are pretty frequent as well.
You were seated on the floor, redoing your ponytails for the 3rd time. Your arms were on fire but you were committed to this look.
"Siri, call yuyu please."
"Calling yuyu."
.....
"Hello ? Y/n ?"
"Hiii just wanted to ask where you are."
"We're almost ready to leave the house. You guys ?"
"I'm almost done if my hair cooperates with me. Wooyoung is most likely waiting for me. I'm surprised he hasn't barged in my room yet."
"Try not to be late!"
"AS IF!!"
"Don't give me attitude missy. Now I'm gonna get the car started, I'll see you in a bit. Bye"
"Bye Bye, don't miss me!"
.....
After 10 more minutes you were finally done. One last look in the mirror and all that work paid off. The boots made your legs look longer and your mini skirt complemented the cropped shirt well. You grabbed your purse and headed to the leaving room where a very impacient Wooyoung awaited you.
"What took you so long ?"
"It takes time to look this good you know?"
"Pleeeease!!"
"Don't roll your eyes at me wooyoung I'll hit you."
"And I'd like it so who's really winning?"
He gave you his signature smirk and winked at you from the couch.
"EW. Let's go. The others already left."

The club was pretty crowded, expected for a friday night, but you weren't scared to get lost. You like to get loose. And it's not like you don't have 8 guys that are constantly keeping an eye on you.
"Don't run off on us again for the love of god."
"Seonghwa for your own sake if I stay none of yall are pulling anyone. Same applies to me."
"Why do you want to get with anyone ?"
"Wouldn't you like to know! I'm off, if you need me yell."
You made your way t the dance floor before he opened his mouth.
"BUT YOU WON'T HEAR IT!!"
"YEAH THAT'S THE POINT!!"
Since it was a 2000s night you were more than happy to have traded your comfortable apartment for the hell. It has it's perks.
You had no idea but someone was drilling holes in your head, Wooyoung was exceptionally bothered by how you left them behind.
"How can she just leave ?"
"Cause she can ?? What are you on about, chill she's not your girl."
Mingi's words were harsher than what met the eye. Sure you weren't dating but he can't lie that the though of some other guy touching you infuriated him. He kept denying his feelings and that maybe this was just him wanting to protect his friend. But Yunho smiled to himself when he saw Wooyoungs furrowed eyebrows.
"You should just tell her how you feel you know?"
"What feelings? It's just unfair we're her friends and she doesn't care."
"And you care too much for "just a friend" don't you think? Listen she can take care of herself she's always been this way, you get used t it."
Yunho tried to relax him but it just made Wooyoung get int his head. Maybe he should've stayed home. No, he couldn't possibly let you out of the house by yourself looking like that.
Meanwhile you were having the time of your life, you had met a group of girls that were on their bacherolette party. It's like you knew them all your life, screaming all the songs, taking pictures, clinking drinks. Girlhood.
You decided to go get another drink and since no one else wanted anything you went alone. Normally this would mean getting approached by a couple of random guys trying to smooth talk you and al of them failling to do so. But unlike other times, the voice behind you was familiar.
"So. Are you having fun ?"
"Oh my god Yunho, I am those girls are so fun. Did you know that the bride and groom met through mutual friends and they actually lived together for a while before he realised he had feelings for her?? How CUTE is that??"
He couldn't help but smile due to the resemblances.
"Yeah it's really sweet. I guess you really never know when love is ready to knock at your door. But what about you, have you gone maneater on anyone?"
"I kinda don't care honestly, I'm having a good time and that's all I care about."
"That's my girl. Now be sure to behave. If you need us, we're at the booth.
He kissed your cheek before disappearing into the sea of people.
Tumblr media
You looked at the time, 5:23am. Time to call it a night. You sayed goodbye to the group of girls that accompanied you through the night and wished them all the best. Making your way up to the booths you realised you were a lot more under the influence than you thought. You didn't really care, it's almost the end of the night and the guys are more then used to this side of yours.
Once they saw you they cheered and clapped, you bowed like a princess and smiled at their unnecessary but appreaciated "welcome back".
"How many fishes did you catch sailor?" Mingi gave you another shot he had brought upstairs.
"A THOUSAND" You yelled and chugged the green liquid. "I'm kidding 0, there's no cute guys here."
You sat down next a very pouty Wooyoung.
"What's up with you? What happened to my loud and energetic comrade?"
He gave you no answer, just his cold gaze.
"Damn are you really that upset that I didn't stick around? I thought you were used to it by now."
He got up and made his way to the balcony. There's no way he's throwing a tantrum for something so stupid, you thought to yourself. You followed his angry steps.
"Be so fucking serious Wooyoung? What the fuck?"
He turned to you and you could see there wasn't a hint of alchool in his system. This wasn't one of his drunk stunts that he pulled when he wanted a tad bit more of attention. He was actually upset.
"Okay, I'm sorry I'm being so agressive, just talk to me woo, please."
"I don't like you running off on us that's all."
"That's not all Wooyoung, we've never been mad at eachother and it's not gonna start now."
You got closer to him holding his hands and caressing them. You were giving him your most sincere eyes and he couldn't believe that he was about to kiss you.
It caught you by surprise, so much so you froze in the first few seconds, not knowing if this was a dream or reality. You decide to give in nonetheless. His hands soft, like you remembered from all the times he touched your skin in times of need. Heartbreaks, cramps, tickles, you name it. He was always there for you.
Yunho sipped his drink with a victorious grin, as he watched from the inside. He looked at the rest of the guys and let out a "I told you so."

after one too many weeks of Tess refusing to give into her feelings for you, you decide to stop flirting with her and turn to a less noble strategy: dating someone else to make her jealous. you know playing with Tess like that is risky, considering her temper, but you simply can´t help yourself. so, eventually, things are bound to take a turn.
warnings: minors dni! strap use (bottom!reader), light edging, light overstim, oral (reader receiving), slight infidelity
author´s note: this is my take on Tess’s meaner side but the vibe shifts a lot halfway through! definitely more smut in this than my others for her, I truly just wrote this for fun, so no discussion of any personal issues this time, just two desperate fools <3 also as always: I’m not aiming to be super faithful to the source material. hope u enjoy!

the way you´d come to work with Tess was a rather funny story looking back.
for the longest time both her and Joel refused to trust anyone but each other, they were stubborn about it, but as they got older they had to admit to themselves that it really wouldn't hurt to have a few allies, especially when it came to physically demanding work, since they weren´t 25 anymore. they slowly figured out who they should recruit, mostly looking for younger people who were either very fit, very clever or ideally both, so after a while they managed to assemble a group of around 6 people whom they knew they could always rely on. as someone who had grown up in the QZ you knew about the smuggling business, even had friends who were involved in it, but you never seriously considered it for yourself until the day you and Tess met for the first time.
Tess had always been vaguely aware of you, the way she was vaguely aware of anyone living near them, and one day she happened to stand right out of earshot when a few FEDRA guys cornered and questioned you about why they´d seen you loitering around suspicious areas multiple times, who you were working for, what you were hiding. without missing a beat you started lying through your teeth, making up some utter bullshit, Tess knew enough about you to know you were bluffing, but you did it so convincingly and with such charm that they let you go after five minutes. it was pretty impressive to Tess as she listened to it all, pretending to mind her business, the way you weren´t overdoing it but playing into their need for authority so well that she swore she could see one of them blushing as they walked off. this one. we need her. she thought. it would be priceless to have someone who wouldn´t crack under pressure, who could talk their way out of risky situations, who could, for a lack of a better term, manipulate people. the second they were gone she approached you, leading with a compliment, so at first you thought she might be flirting and got all excited, considering how rare it was to talk to encounter someone who was so your type, but when you realized that she was offering you work, the giddiness died down a little. still, it intrigued you enough to agree, because what else was there to do with your life really.
the process of getting integrated into their group was easier than you expected, a few weeks into proving yourself as reliable it became clear as day that you were their best negotiator, their secret weapon when it came to talking your way out of trouble, or talking your way into acquiring information they otherwise wouldn´t have gotten; your charisma was lethal, your way with words was impressive and hardly anyone was immune to it, so a good amount of times Tess and Joel had taken you along with them to help when beating information out of someone hadn´t worked, when smarter tactics were needed.
the one thing that was hard about the job had nothing to do with what you were actually doing; the violence, the bloodshed, the lack of guilt and shame you needed to have, none of it bothered you, none of it shook you, but one thing messed with you from the start: your insane pull towards Tess. perhaps part of the reason you´d even said yes to her offer in the first place was to get closer to her, to be around her, perhaps it would´ve taken more convincing for someone else, but when she talked to you that day and her deep smooth voice made your face feel hot for a second, you knew before she´d finished her proposal that you´d say yes.
the first few weeks you tried to gauge the vibe, wondering if there might be a chance she found you attractive too, but you quickly came to realize just how ice-cold her facade was. nobody ever had a good read on her true feelings, except maybe Joel and even he seemed at a loss at times, there was no way of knowing for sure whether you had a chance, so you decided to start dropping hints: lingering around her even when you could´ve stood further away, looking at her more intensely when you listened to her talk, moving your body differently when she was near, showing off certain assets, “coincidently” playing with your hair or licking your lips when you could feel her eyes on you, touching her arm for emphasis when you were telling her story. at first, you thought she was actually uninterested, but after a while you´d caught her looking one too many times to believe that you were reading into things, Tess was subtle but not subtle enough. something told you that she was bluffing, that she was denying her attraction for some reason, you could practically see her restraining herself whenever you flirted with her and it only made you want her more, to know that she did feel something but was hiding it from you.
what you didn´t know was that it had only taken a few days of knowing you for Tess to feel panicked by her sudden attraction to you. at first it was easy for her to ignore it, but once you started pursuing her she felt herself getting nervous, which made her try to shut down whatever it was that you made her feel because she knew how fucked she´d be if she let some girl she´d have to see on the regular get under her skin like that. Tess grew stubborn, she had too much pride to let you feel like you had the power to get her to give into her urges, so instead of taking your flirting as an invitation to just go for it and have fun, she tried her hardest to let you believe you had no effect on her, unwilling to be the weaker one in a dynamic. someone else would have just delighted in being so aggressively hit on by someone they were so into but she was different, she couldn´t just go with the flow and be normal about desire, and she´d come to regret this, hard. after a few months of unsuccessfully trying to get her to give in, you changed strategies. you had a feeling that jealousy might be a weak spot for her, so you were going to test that theory and do it well.
there was a girl in your group who obviously had a thing for you, you´d never considered it because she wasn´t really your type, but she was still pretty and good company so one day you thought fuck it, let´s see how good her poker face holds up once she sees someone else claming me right in front of her eyes.
so, one day you and the others, including Tess, were sitting around planning something and the girl you´d started seeing rested her hand on your thigh, caressed you a little as she listened to Joel and a few others talk, and you caught the brief second of shock on Tess face as she saw it, quickly followed by a flicker of something like rage, I knew it, you thought. the good thing was that the girl was very heavy on physical affection, so she kept touching you and nobody gave much of a fuck but Tess was dying on the inside. you were absolutely shameless about it because while the girl kept showering you in affection you kept giving Tess stares, the kind that made it obvious you were messing with her, challenging her, and she couldn´t believe it, your audacity, but then again, wasn´t that what she´d recruited you for, your effect on people? she hadn´t considered that she might find herself on the receiving end of it.
the following week you kept doing it every time you were all in a room together, and it was driving Tess increasingly insane, seeing a girl holding your hand, kissing your cheek, rubbing your back absentmindedly, while you kept staring at her, getting a twisted kind of pleasure out of watching her struggle more and more with denying her needs. she´d rarely felt rage like that, so hot and visceral she caught herself being unnecessarily aggressive with other people who just thought jesus, what´s up with her these days. she felt a sense of possessiveness over you that was of course unwarranted, since she´d rejected your advances and of course she knew that you were probably dating people, but actually being confronted with it was a whole different thing, seeing you being touched by someone like that was forcing her to admit that she wanted to be in the girl´s place, and even worse, could have already been if she had just given into your pursuit.
one night as you were all leaving after a brief meet up to plan a mission for the following day, Tess was leaning against the wall of the building smoking as you said goodbye to the girl, really playing it up because she was near, kissing her longer than you usually would, pulling her in tighter, before she walked down the street in the opposite direction of where you had to go home.
Tess thought okay, if you wanna fuck around with me, two can play that game. as you were about to pass by her she grinned in a way that made it look like she was laughing to herself about you, so you stopped, staring at her, “can I help you?”, not masking your annoyance well. she kept that cocky expression on her face as she flicked her cigarette away and crossed her arms, eyeing you, you hated how hot it looked, her leaning back like that, her hair falling down her shoulders, her eyes piercing even though it was dark, “oh nothing..” she said, which of course only made you press the issue, “no, go on, what´s so funny, enlighten me”, she spoke in a lower tone then, “well. you might wanna dump that girlfriend of yours”, she wasn´t your girlfriend but you didn´t correct her, couldn´t hurt to let her believe it, “huh??”, you were confused, genuinely.
the moment she saw your puzzled expression her body changed the way it usually did before throwing a really good punch or hitting a target perfectly, she knew she´d get you good with what she was about to say, she had you right where she wanted you, “well. she´s clearly not giving it to you right. otherwise you wouldn´t be staring at me all day”.
your face froze up, your whole being for that matter, it took a good few seconds for words to return to you, you were in utter disbelief. “I´m sorry, what the fuck did you just say to me?”, she loved it, finally seeing you crumble for once, having the upper hand, “you heard me.” she said, very satisfied with herself, still staring you down, unyielding, her stance solid and unmoving, her strong arms pronounced by the shirt she was wearing, you tried your hardest not to look, not there, not at her neck or her lips, there was hardly a part of her that was safe to look at, so you grew angry, “yeah I really wish I hadn´t, Theresa.” drawing the last word out.
a low blow from you, everyone knew she despised her full name. seeing her flinch a little at its sound was a momentary win, a hint of power in your hands, “careful. and I didn´t hear you denying it yet”, you shifted your stance to look more secure then, regaining your wits a little, “yeah I don´t owe you a justification of my fucking sex life as far as I´m aware. also you´re being pretty inappropriate”, that got her pissed too then, “oh that´s rich coming from you, I´m not the one who keeps eye fucking their superior”, you scoffed then, “superior? really?”, “yes. really.”, technically you knew she was right, it was only fair that those with decades of experience called the shots, still, you knew she used the word in that moment to assert a different kind of dominance, one that had little to do with your work. again, you´d failed to deny her accusation but you were eager to just get the fuck out of there with your dignity somewhat in tact still, you knew she was clever and hadn´t said anything that was too far off from the truth, “what do you want from me Tess? what business of yours is it what I do or who I date?”, a last attempt to push back, tired and riled up by all your unresolved feelings for her, the anger over having been ignored by her for so long and only now getting her attention by playing some mind game that got her to be mean to you, also anger over being turned on by it.
“well if you keep pulling me into your dissatisfaction with her it is kind of.. “my business””, her fingers making air quotes for the last part of the sentence, mocking you in a way, and her calm air as she said it was only pissing you off more, she was enjoying it, having a point, sensing that she was getting to you, “you sound insane you know that right? maybe take a downer or something” you hissed and she was getting fed up, her smile dropped,“okay here´s the deal sweetie. you quit your obnoxious starring act and we´re good. otherwise I won´t play nice anymore” you looked at her, questioning, “this is you playing “nice”?..”, she nodded, “is that a threat I´m hearing?” you inquired, “no. just a very clear instruction of what you should do. so, now go home and try to dream about your girlfriend instead of me” she waved for you to move past her, that fucking grin on her face again, you went to leave, uttering “bitch..” as you were a few feet away from her, but still close enough for her to hear, “say that to my face next time and see what happens”, loud and clear enough for you to hear, somehow not inspiring fear in you, but intrigue, which didn´t help with calming down at all.
you´d been so wrapped up in trying to defend yourself against her sudden attack that it only dawned on you after that that way of talking to you had also been an admission on her part. you knew her, you knew she wouldn´t have bothered to mess with someone like that if she truly didn´t care about them. it only solidified your belief that there was something there, something thrilling, the air between two people isn´t that charged for no reason. nobody had ever had that physical of an effect on you and you were starved for passion, you were starved for so many things, and she made you sick with a hunger that would only loosen its grip on your insides once you´d get a taste of her. usually people saw you as sweet, as easy to get along with, but she forced something out of you that was darker, and for some reason, despite the rage, you liked it and had a sneaking suspicion she did too. you could have taken her warning as a sign to finally back off and give up, you could have stopped your games and let it go, but of course, you couldn´t. something told you that you were very close to getting what you wanted, if you were willing to take the risk of finally pushing her towards a breaking point. needless to say: you were.
your work as smugglers, or whatever the hell your own job title was, was often divided within the group, Tess and Joel mostly took care of bigger plans that required multiple days of serious mapping out and careful consideration, often with a few other brainy types to figure out the details, you and a few younger people often did smaller dirty work that required you to be quick on your feet, finding people who´d screwed you over on deals, intimidation tactics, smaller drug deals, so meeting up as a group only happened semi regularly, but about a week and a half after your little stand off with Tess you found yourself in a room with almost all of the others again. that day you told yourself: okay. one last try. if she doesn´t bite now, I´m done.
part of the agenda that day was you teaching some of the other ones a thing or two about run ins with law enforcement because a few of them had come back bruised and battered from a mission and you were the one person who always without a doubt came back unscathed. it was convenient for you to have to do a lot of talking that day, because it was forcing Tess to pay attention to you, to listen to your voice, to watch you be charming with the others who took in your instructions, a glimmer of admiration in their eyes, and Tess fucking hated all of it, that she felt the same way watching you, convinced you were moving certain ways on purpose when you stood with your back turned to her. that alone was fine, she could manage, but by the time it was someone else´s turn to talk, you´d made your way back to where your “girlfriend” was standing only a few feet away from Tess. you thought perfect and went in for a kiss, but this time you kept your eyes open, looking over her shoulder to stare at Tess as you kissed the girl and you knew in that moment you´d done about the most shameless thing you could think of and for a moment Tess looked like she might actually drag you off and beat you up for it, a darkness in her eyes that would´ve scared you if it hadn´t turned on you on as much as it did, you swore you could see her clenching her teeth.
about fifteen minutes later you were all ready to leave, your date was in a hurry, she had somewhere to be so you said goodbye and watched everyone including her clear out first before you made your way to the door, for a second fully forgetting about Tess because you were lost in thought, but just as you were about to exit the door you almost ran face first into her because she´d been watching you make your way there and swooped in the last second to block your way, her arm functioning as a barrier.“and where the fuck do you think you´re going?”, she said, her voice sharp, angry, emphasis on the “fuck”.
“what??” you uttered, still recovering from being ripped out of your thoughts that violently, stumbling back a step, “what?” she mocked, imitating your tone, “you have some fucking nerve. wasn´t it enough to be a bitch to you when I told you to back off? do you need me to hurt you to finally get it? is that what you want?”. “maybe” you shot back as you felt the words hitting you right at your core, the threat of violence drawing your eyes to where her fingers were gripping the doorframe, the sudden thought it wouldn´t be the worst thing in the world to be roughed up by those. you realized you´d done the exact right things to get her to break but you were done playing games, you were done acting like you had no idea what she was talking about, you were tired of pretending; it was time to put all your cards on the table, the game was over.
you stared into her sou as you said, “you´re really fucking predictable, you know that right?” which was not what she expected to hear, her eyes narrowed then, “excuse me?”, you went on, throwing your hands in the air and looking around as if someone was there whom you could turn to and ask “can you believe this woman?”.
“Jesus fucking Christ Tess, for months I threw myself at you and got nothing in return and then the second I try to make you jealous you´re giving me the time of day, talking to me, paying attention. I was so sure that it would be the only way to get to you and well…” you gestured at her face, the intense expression,“clearly I was right.” a touch of cockiness to that last phrase. she nodded, slowly, thinking, “so you used that girl to get to me, is that it? that´s pretty fucked up of you, you know that right?”, she said it as if she was judging you but there was a clear hint of admiration at the core, Tess was impressed by your cold way of going about things, all to be alone with her.
you shrugged, “sure, yes, I know” she shook her head muttering “you really are something else..”, eyeing you up and down, still a little riled up but also thinking about the fact that you had actually done all that not to just fuck with her but to try and get her to give into her pull towards you. to her it had seemed like you just wanted to rub it in her face, that you´d moved onto someone else, but it was dawning on her that you still wanted her, that you had been trying to get with her all along. a moment of charged silence followed, you trying to understand what she was thinking before she shifted her stance, dropped her arms and looked over her shoulder onto the street, “alright. follow me” she ordered, a questioning look on your face, “what are we-”, she shushed you as she started walking and motioned for you to do the same “just shut up and come”.
as you walked a few feet behind her, down the dark street that still smelled faintly of rain and wet asphalt, you had a brief second of wondering whether she was taking you to her place or just leading you to a back alley to beat you up, and truthfully you wouldn´t have minded either option. Tess didn´t bother to turn around one single time the entire way, counting on the fact that you were behind her, cocky bitch you thought, you could have walked off in another direction without her even noticing at any second but of course you wouldn´t and of course she knew, so after about five minutes she opened the door of a five story building and didn´t bother to hold the door open, trusting you´d rush in fast enough, still not looking at you, “wow thank you” you uttered under your breath as you caught the heavy door mid closing and tried to keep up with her.
by the time you found yourself in her apartment you were out of breath and leaned against the wall in the hallway while she turned around to face your for the first time since you´d left the place you were at before, the apartment was only lit by the orange streetlights outside but you saw enough, her hair that had gotten effortlessly wavy from the humid air, the way her shirt sleeves were pushed up to her elbows, something about her arms always got you, so forced yourself to look back at her face, but she´d clocked it, your admiration for her physique, so she stepped closer to you, only stopping when she was about an arm´s length away, your already fast heartbeat not slowing down at all, your cheeks burning.
for a moment neither of you spoke because you were just sizing each other up, feeling out the vibe, waiting if the other was gonna do or say something. the reality of the situation had come to her: after all those weeks of agonizing over you she had you in her space, you were alone, nothing in the way anymore, and the freedom was almost too much to process for a second, eventually Tess spoke up as she slowly shook her head, taking in the painfully beautiful sight of you, the hint of a smile that you couldn´t suppress, “what am I gonna do with you, hm?” she thought out loud, her voice barely above a whisper, you tilted your head, speaking slowly, putting weight into each word, “you can do whatever you want.”, getting her right in her weakest spot, of course you´d figured out that bending to her will was the one thing that would make you irresistible to her, and watching her face change as the words settled was perfect, she looked like she was blacking out.
Tess realized in that moment why you had gotten under her skin as intensely as you had, why you´d taken up her whole mind and made her blood boil so many times, why her usual stoic facade crumbled around you. it was not like she´d never been pursued by other girls, of course she had, and at times she enjoyed the attention, played into it and had some fun, usually they were easily intimidated by her, tripping over their words if she looked at them long enough, blushing cheeks and wide eyes, but never you, from the very start you talked to her with confidence, unshaken by her aura, you never grew nervous when she looked at you, because you enjoyed it too much, holding eye contact as long as she wanted without breaking it, without surrendering.
the whole thing of someone twirling their hair and blushing over her had its appeal, sure, but the joy Tess got out of it was very superficial and short-lived, it never really affected her on a deep visceral level because it was so predictable each time, it was almost like following a script, and then you came and showed her what it meant to face an equal, to be caught off guard, the unmatched pleasure it could lead to if she could abandon her pride and let herself be truly moved by someone for once.
Tess had to admit that what she had going on with you was more thrilling than any other connection she´d ever had before, to see you and to know that you were clever enough to figure her out even when she gave you so little to work with, your ability to do and say exactly the right things to get her worked up, to raise her temperature just with a glance, it was so unlike anything she´d ever experienced that the initial shock made her back away from you, made her try to pretend she wasn´t fully in awe of you, but in that moment it was clear to her: I´ve never wanted anyone the way I want this girl. she sees me for who I am and shes´s not scared of what she sees. we´re the same kind of intense.
Tess was suddenly devoid of any previous resentment, it all came to her in that moment, just how rare of a thing it was that you´d pursued her for months and months without success and had still not given up, not backed down. for the first time she saw that it wasn´t just some viscous game of yours, it was a deep commitment of time and energy to getting what you wanted and it was a strength she admired, that turned her on. those words you´d used whatever you want, had activated something in her, there was no going back anymore, she saw what she needed to do clearly then.
she moved even closer to you, close enough for your knees to almost touch, reaching out to mess with the collar of your shirt a little as she said “whatever I want hm?”, you nodded, your eyes wide and expectant, your demeanor suddenly completely different, none of the usual toughness was there anymore, it melted away the second you felt her fingers over your clothing and she could tell, finally you were at her mercy. so without warning she grabbed you by the shoulders and flipped you around, pushing you up against the wall, making you brace yourself with your palms flat against the hard surface, hers placed directly next to them, trapping you, her body pressing against yours, not very gently and you barely had time to shut your mouth to conceal the sound that it got out of your throat, to be manhandled like that by her. your breath was heavy by that point, the feeling of her hips pressing into your lower back, feeling her weight like that made you dizzy with want, it was the closest you´d ever been to Tess, the first time you could properly smell inhale her scent, she leaned in close to your ear, her hot breath sending shivers down your spine as she spoke again, “you´ve imagined this many times, haven´t you?”.
a nod was all you could give her, words weren´t coming, your mind was blank with need, you were all body in that moment “hm, bet you jerked off thinking about me and felt unsatisfied after, wishing I was actually there, wishing I was between your legs” spot on, you´d spent many nights trying to get off to your image of her but never really did, not in a way that satisfied you, another confessional nod from you as a response, she could feel you struggling under her and she loved it, “poor thing” she whispered before removing her hands from the wall and grabbing your tits, wrapping her strong arms around your torso, the grip immediately forceful enough to get a whimper out of you followed by a breathy, “fuck..” you were scared of actually losing your mind if the action while still being fully dressed was already getting you that soaked, you could feel the heat growing between your legs, spreading through your whole body as her fingers squeezed the sensitive skin of your chest, feeling you up aggressively without shame. “let´s get you out of these already” she said as she spun you around again, your face flushed, your lips parted, the first glimpse of what she could do to you and she was hungry for more, much more.
Tess briefly pushed a few loose strands of hair out of your face before pulling your shirt over your head in one swift motion. you weren´t wearing a bra so you were left topless immediately and the sight left her speechless for a moment, her motions stopped and she just stood there marveling at your body, none of the clothes you usually wore gave much away about what was hiding beneath them, so being confronted with your bare figure seemed like a dream at first, none of her fantasies of you had prepared her for the real thing, “god..” she sighed, her eyes roaming your upper body, the curve of your neck and where it went down to, and her lustful gaze was too much for you, you couldn´t wait longer, so you grabbed her and pulled her in for a kiss, not a pretty one, but one that made it crystal clear just how much pent up tension you were both dying to release; it was sloppy and hard, a kiss that bordered on violence, hands grabbing at each other frantically, almost biting each other with how eager you were, the soft warmth of the other person´s lips driving you both crazy with wanting more, so very quickly you were open mouthed kissing and groaning at the feeling of your tongues meeting, your fingers in her hair while she grabbed your face, the rough fabric of her shirt brushing your bare chest as you tried to get as close as possible to her.
the second you separated to breathe you used the opportunity to move down to her neck, placing a few kisses down the side of her throat before getting carried away and running your tongue over her skin, you were dying to taste her and she was completely taken off guard by it, usually people were passive with her sexually, but in that moment she realized just how much it turned her on to be desired that openly, to be devoured in a way, she let you have your way for a moment, holding onto your back as you left her neck in red splotches where you´d sucked the skin, before she grew too eager and peeled you off, grabbing your hand as she said “come” and pulled you towards her bedroom.
once you were in her room you didn´t register a single detail about it, not the color of the walls, not the furniture, nothing, because you were so lost in the physical sensations that left you vibrating with anticipation for more, you could barely walk straight as she said “take those off for me” pointing to your pants, which you gladly got rid off, leaving you in your underwear as you approached her bed and saw her walking to the other side of the room, which made you realized that wasn´t just gonna use her hands on you and for the first time that night you felt nervous. you could count on one hand the amount of times you´d let someone strap you and the last time had been a while back so you were worried for a second about how you´d handle yourself, someone less perceptive might not have noticed it but the moment Tess walked over to where you were sitting on the bed waiting for her she saw that something in your face had changed, she gave you a look that said, “what is it?”, so you admitted, “it´s just.. it´s been a while since i´ve done it this way”, in that moment it hit her that the image she had of you as this ruthless seductress was only the surface, that below that you were still just a young woman who probably didn´t have that much experience yet, it softened her a little, especially combined with the sight of you all exposed save for your panties, looking all angelic for her, your thighs driving her crazy with the need to just get between them, she nodded, a slight grin as she responded “well, you´re a tough girl. I know you can take it”. and for some reason that was much hotter to you than if she´d have babied or underestimated you.
you were in the middle of her bed, she was by the edge and waved you over “come”, you obeyed, crawling to her, waiting for further instructions, “why don´t you get it nice ´n wet for me hm, that should help”, she said, holding out her hand right under your face, you realized she was asking you to spit in it, so you did, letting salvia drip from between your lips into her open palm, drawing it out a little to make it filthy, and you knew she loved it, seeing you take her orders well, “hmm, good girl” she uttered as she used your spit to lubricate the strap, licking the residue off her hand after, the sight getting your already drenched underwear even wetter. the moment she was done with that her aggressive side returned, she told you to take off the last piece of fabric, which you did, before she climbed over you, watching your face intently as she got settled and teased your cunt for a moment by lightly running her fingers over the wetness that had collected there, a groan from her as she felt the proof of your lust slick against her hand, the moment she touched you there you let out a pretty deseprate moan and she thought oh. this is gonna be fun.
it was clear to her then that you were the needy kind and nothing drove her wilder than a girl who´d lose her composure for her entirely, so without wasting time she guided the tip to your entrance, a wince from you as she slowly pushed herself into you, carefully, her hands moving up to pin yours down next to your head as she saw your face twisting from the sensation of being stretched out, a slight pain that would subside soon,“you´re fine, breathe, deep breaths” she cooed down at you as she pushed herself fully into you “fuck..”, you sighed, wrapping your legs around her waist instinctively, your eyes shut, she was staring down at you, “no, come on look at me” she ordered, wanting to see your expression so you held eye contact as she started slowly moving in and out of you, building up a rhythm, your walls clenching around the silicone, the feeling of your hands being restrained by hers adding to the rapidly increasing heat in you, she quickly started going at it with deep but slow thrusts, the kind that drove you more insane than fast fucking, the intenstiy of it immediately getting more moans out of you, she leaned down as her hips kept meeting yours, whispering, “this is what you wanted all along hm, being taken by me?” you whined in response, your legs tightening around her, “yes- fuck this feels so good” you got out in a shaky tone  as she kept really driving herself into you as deeply you as possible, not necessarily punishing but determined, forcing more and more pathetic sounds out of you.
the sight of your open mouth, your tongue, was too inviting, so she removed one of her hands from yours and pushed her index and middle finger in, which you immediately closed your lips around, sucking on them, the stifled sounds almost more perverse than the previous loud ones, she got more forceful then as she view of your eyes closed in pleasure with your pretty mouth filled by her digits almost drover her insane, and it turned you on too, not just the sensation of being entered in two ways at once, of feeling your walls throbbing as she kept fucking into you with hard strokes, but also because you knew you looked good, you could tell that you were her fantasy come to life from the way her breath sounded as you sucked her fingers, all messed up and clearly matching you in desperation, “god you were made to be fucked, look at you” she breathed, while getting up from where she was hovering over you to get on her knees to push your legs apart, pressing them towards your chest to really fuck you as deeply as possible, bracing herself against one of your legs as she increased her speed then, making you see stars.
“Tess fuck, unhgg-” you begged as her hands gripped your legs and forced you open for her, your head pushed back into the pillow, your back arching up, “you’re doing so well, so pretty like this” she encouraged as she got you to unravel, your hands frantically grabbing the sheets as you tried to somehow remain conscious as you felt your insides twisting up and your climax approaching, which she could sense, but she wasn´t gonna let you cum just yet, so after a few more moments of savoring the sight of you all fucked out on your back, squirming and holding on as she had her way with you, she stopped, pulling out for a moment, an immediate desperate whine from you, “ugh fuck Tess.. I was close-” you sounded like you might actually cry and she might have felt bad if she wasn´t so into it, seeing you like that, an utter mess for her, “I know sweetheart but I´m not just gonna let you lay there, gotta see that perfect body of yours move” she answered, peppering in some genuine praise that did make the shameless edging hurt a little less, she moved to the other end of the bed and gently slapped your thigh to signal to you to get up, “come on, get on top of me pretty girl” she took satisfaction out of seeing you struggle and shake a bit as you got up on all fours and climbed over to her, weak from her impact, placing your knees on either side of her thighs as you tried to lower yourself and she grabbed your hips to guide you, “nice and slow okay”, she instructed, not wanting you to hurt yourself, her grip securing you as you used one hand to guide the strap back into yourself, your soaked cunt practically begging for it, a pornographic moan from you as you sat down on it and felt yourself full again, “good girl” she cooed, watching your face change again, that intoxicating look of yours, so needy and overwhelmed, “just like that” her hands still on your hips, not letting go.
you faced her then, your eyes glazed over with pure need, an endearing sight to her, she locked eyes with you as you slowly rocked your hips back and forth, but she could tell you were holding back a little, so she said, “come on don´t be shy now, fuck yourself for me, as hard as you want”, her hands on your waist then as you stared back into her eyes and braced yourself on her chest as you moved back and forth with more feeling, more force, moaning each time you could feel the tip hitting that sweet spot, trying hard to find an angle of where it would be hit over and over, “that´s it, ” Tess praised as she got high on of the image of you riding her, using her, losing yourself in the feeling of being full of her, “god nobodys ever looked this good taking me, fuckin´divine..” she sighed before she got you to sit more upright on her so she could lean forward and suck on your tits as you rode her, the sight of your chest bouncing up and down from the rhythm of your fucking too enticing to just watch, your hands on her neck then as she ran her tongue over your nipple and sucked on it hard enough to turn your sighing into broken up cries, “fuck - don´t stop” you mumbled as you felt her switching between licking and sucking the soft skin, her teeth digging in at one point, a sharp pain that felt good mixed with the ache between your legs as you kept rocking back and forth, your clit throbbing too by that point from getting the friction.
you could feel yourself getting close as Tess moved her face away from your chest and used her strength to help you finish by holding you in place while thrusting upwards from below you, your whole body consumed by the need to cum by that point, the heat at your core turning into a heat all over, your limbs tingling, your chest rising and falling with labored breaths as you felt her fucking you from under you, “oh jesus fuck-” you cursed as she did this, throwing your head back and bracing yourself on her legs as your cunt got demolished by her, “let go, cum for me” she groaned, the order pushing you over the edge, a final pathetic sounding whine from you as you shuddered and shook for a moment, your walls clenching hard around the silicone which was drenched in your juices by that point, from the sound of it Tess might have actually cum too just from having you move on her like that, her breaths punctured by sighs as her hands rested on your back to push you towards herself, needing you close as you gave her what she wanted: the uninhibited display of your release, it was pure ecstasy to her, your body goddess-like as you slowly rode out your high, all for her to take in, every detail, she was obsessed to her core.
as you stopped moving and tried to catch you breath before attempting to get off of her, she helped, lifting you up a little and hearing a slight gasp as she left you empty, spent, falling onto your back, your arms splayed out, and you thought that was it, you were done, but Tess wasn´t, not yet.
she got up from the bed, quickly freed herself of the harness and got down on her knees, pulling you towards the edge of the bed in one rough motion, “Tess fuck no I can´t-” you pleaded as you realized what she was doing, but she just smiled as she pushed your still slightly shaky legs apart, hooking one of them over her shoulder to get good access,“sure you can, one more okay? for me” a sweetness in those last two words, persuading you to give into it and you tried to believe her but your body was losing all sense of place and time, all sanity, as you felt her fingers digging into your thighs, her face close to your soaked, aching cunt, your soft sounds of desperation only turned her on more so she wasted no time and licked up the slick that had leaked out of you and coated your inner thighs, savoring it, “god you taste like heaven” she breathed against your skin, biting down for a second, she had a thing for it, leaving marks, not just to mark her territory but because she loved knowing that you wouldn´t be able to shower and look at yourself in the mirror without thinking of what she´d done, so she briefly lost herself in the feeling of your soft skin between her teeth, the immediately visible red and purple indents, your whimpering, before moving up to where she´d fucked you open before, kissing your aroused lips, sucking on them, running her tongue up and down in a slow, heartfelt rhythm, moving her face to add to the friction.
“fuck- I´m- Tess” you were incoherent as your fingers found their way into her hair, pulling a little as she focused the tip of her tongue on your clit, swirling over it in circles, more crying and begging from you each second, a few tears forming in your eyes from the overwhelming pulsing and twisting at your core, your legs pressing together on the sides of her face, but she didn´t yield, forcing them apart again, flicking her tongue against your overstimulated most sensitive spot and finally just sucking on it, hard, determined, “you´re killing me” you groaned, your hips bucking upwards as a reaction and her fingers probably leaving bruises from how hard she was gripping you, and since you were still so sensitive from before it took little time for you to cum against her face, cursing under your breath as her chin was left glistening from you juices, just how she wanted it. the moment the second climax crashed over you in waves your body was drained of all energy, your limbs went totally slack, your lower half felt like it was burning up, and your breathing was so messed up you didn´t even try conceal it, laying thre exhausted but buzzing with endorphins, the good kind of tired.
Tess got up from the floor to sit down next to where you were laying, a satisfied grin on her face as she traced your outline with her fingertips, admiring her impact, the light bite marks on your chest, the shine of sweat on your face, it was pure bliss to her, seeing you like that.
“god I really shouldn´t have made you wait this long..” she said, truly at a loss over how stupid she´d been to deny herself the pleasure of being with you, you gave a tired laugh then, turning to look her in the eyes, “yeah no shit”, she smiled, “guess I have a lot to make up for hm?”, you nodded, “well, this was a good start”, reaching for the strand of her hair that framed her face, twirling it around your finger as you slowly regained your composure.
“but just so we´re clear, you´re not getting any favoritsm out of this” she teased, you returned the energy, “well fuck, I clearly just did all this to lower my work load.”, you propped yourself up on your elbows then, looking at her more clearly, her cheeks still flushed, an unusual ease to her expression, you took some pride in being the one to get her to look like that, just eyeing her for a second and for once she loved it, being stared down by you, being fucked with by your intense gaze. “you know, the first time we met I actually thought you were flirting with me for a few minutes. could´ve saved us a lot of time if you had been” you told her, which made her laugh,“really?? and you would´ve just gone with me if I had been? that easy?” you shrugged, “hey, I am not the one who played hard to get here” you had a point, she nodded, amused by the idea of you wanting her from the very start.
you crawled over to her then, wrapping your arms around her neck as she ran her hands up and down the warm skin of your back, both of you just looking at each other all blissed out and relieved, “I didn´t expect you to be so..” you started saying, she cocked her head, “so what?”, “you know, generous..” she smiled then, placing one of her hands on your cheek, “right, you thought I´d just be mean and use you and take out my frustrations, huh?”, you nodded, “maybe, kinda yeah.”, “well, not my thing. I mean I´ll do whatever you want me to, if you want it rough just ask, but I am simple, I just want my girl to feel good”, you squinted your eyes at her, “your girl? is that what I am?”, charmed by that way of putting it, “well you´re sure as hell not anybody else´s anymore”, she said, meaning it, her possessiveness jumping out, “yeah I don´t think I could show up with bite marks at someone else´s place, so..”, “that was the plan” she whispered before leaning in to kiss your neck, getting a soft sigh out of you before moving to your lips, a gentler kiss than the one before.
“you can stay over if you want by the way. it´s so late I won´t make you go home now” she said as you made her lay back so you could lay on top of her, smiling down at her as you asked, “really?”, she didn’t see what was so crazy about her offer, “yes really”, “hm. didn´t figure you for the “falling asleep in each others arms” type”, she feigned offense, “okay rude.. I can be romantic, I do have a heart you know”, you grinned, laying your head on her chest, “I know. also, staying the night is good because then I can return the favor”, a mischievousness to your tone, “oh that´s what you think is gonna happen?”, she asked, “well, I think you´d like seeing me on my knees, wouldn´t you?” , again, you´d said the right thing to her weak, “jesus. you´re still messing with me, aren´t you?” she couldn´t believe how good you were at hitting her where it would get her to fold, but she loved it, “maybe” you whispered, eyes closed and smiling as she caressed your still naked body to keep you warm.
now that you´d gotten the initial push and pull out of the way, you couldn´t wait to see what it would mean to actually be with her, how you´d spend an evening together, how she’d act as a lover, if you´d sneak around or let people know, all the things that were to come now that your feelings were out in the open. you liked the idea of nobody knowing about you and stealing glances when you were in a room together. maybe that would be your next thing: teasing her in public until she gives in and drags you away. maybe you weren´t fully done with it yet, getting under her skin, and maybe she was secretly hoping that was th case.
for the first time in ages, both of you had the feeling of finally having someone who challenges you, who surprises and thrills you. boredom or a desire for more heat and passion was not going to be an issue anymore, not as long as you had each other.

MY HEART HURTS OOOH 😭😭
Got me feeling all loved up on a wednesday morning ❤
How do you think their friends and family reacted 🎉
That’s such a great question! Here’s how I think it would go!

The table was filled with all of the people you loved the most. It was your parents and Wayne and Steve and Robin and the kids. You had told them all that you had an announcement and they all agreed to come over to your apartment to have dinner even though they all could guess what your news was.
The two of you couldn’t contain your excitement. Even though you hadn’t told anyone, you both still spent hours every night before bed looking at everything wedding related, whether it was a gown magazine or researching a venue, or even ordering a wedding cake sampler despite not having set the date yet. You couldn’t have been more thrilled to share the rest of your lives with each other and each have rings to show everyone that you belonged to each other.
You stood from the table and clinked your champagne glass with your spoon to get everyone’s attention. The chatter stopped and they all turned to the head of the table where you had been standing.
“I just wanted to thank everyone for being here tonight,” you started. “As you know, Eddie and I have been friends practically our whole lives. We’ve never left each other’s side and have been there through thick and thin. Despite everyone’s assumption that we were a couple, that was never really something we thought about or discussed.”
“Well,” Eddie took over. “I have loved y/n since I could remember. I wasn't sure in what way, but now I know. I want to spend the rest of my life with her and the other night, I proposed and she said yes.”
Everyone was silent for a moment before they were all reaching into their wallets or purses for cash. They were all either passing it across the table or the people next them and you were wondering what they were all doing.
“I’m sorry, what’s going on?” You asked, clearly confused by the money being passed around.
“Well, I thought you were going to tell us you were pregnant,” your mother answered.
“So did I,” Steve added. “And Rob was right so I owed her twenty bucks.” The whole thing didn’t surprise you in the slightest. You wondered how quickly they had all come up with it this time.
“Oh, so you all bet on what we were announcing?” You quirked an eyebrow, trying to seem serious but you ended up letting out a laugh and Eddie was quick to join in.
“Sorry,” your father shrugged. “It’s easy money.”
“Let me see the ring,” your mother waved you over and you moved to her left, holding your hand out so she could get a good look. Everyone who couldn’t see it from their seats all gathered around you as they all “oohed” and “aahed” at the sparkly diamond on your finger.
“It’s beautiful, y/n,” your mother responded. “You’re going to be such a beautiful bride.” You could see her tearing up which only made you do the same. She wiped away your tears with the pads of her thumbs then pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “My baby’s not a baby anymore.”
“Oh, mom. I’m still your baby.” You pulled her into a hug that she was quick to return. At that, it seemed like everyone wanted to get in on it, so you made the rounds hugging everyone, Wayne being last.
You held onto him the longest since he always seemed to give the best hugs second to Eddie. Wayne had been like a second father to you. You felt like you could go to him for anything. It could have been a scraped knee or even a broken heart and he would have patched you up literally and metaphorically. He always gave the best advice and it was always accompanied by a cup of coffee at the table in his kitchen.
Wayne didn’t think there was a better person for his nephew. From the first time he had seen the two of you together, he knew that you were going to be in Eddie’s life for a long time. You were sweet and selfless and clearly wanted to be friends with Eddie because you liked him for who he was.
“Thank you for taking care of my boy,” he patted your back.
“I wouldn’t want to do anything else. He’s my person.” You gave him one more squeeze before letting go.
“And I know he’s very lucky to have that title.” Your cheeks blushed at his words and you turned to the man who you were going to call your husband who was conversing with Steve. They were both laughing about something and your heart warmed seeing him so happy.
“And I’m lucky to have him.”
“He called me the day he bought the ring.” You turned back to Wayne as he said the words. Eddie had failed to mention that to you.
“He did?”
“He did,” he nodded with a laugh. “The boy was so nervous and I had to calm him down. He loves you so much and he didn’t want to screw it up.”
“He did a wonderful job. You did great raising him, Wayne.” You gave him one last hug then headed back over to your fiancé.
You wrapped your arms around his middle as he was still deep in conversation with Steve. His arms went to your shoulders, pulling you as close to him as possible. Steve looked at the two of you in admiration. He honestly wasn’t surprised in the slightest at hearing about your engagement and was shocked that neither of you had popped the question sooner.
Him and Robin had a bet going for so long to see when the two of you were going to finally realize your feelings for each other. They couldn’t believe that it had actually taken twenty years for you to finally see that you were soulmates. It had been obvious to everyone around you, but apparently not to the two of you.
You turned to Eddie and looked into his warm brown eyes, feeling your heart warm at seeing the way they softened for you. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your lips that you gratefully accepted. You were going to live happily ever after with the only person you’d ever want to spend it with and you couldn’t have been more grateful to have him.

♡ Pairing - Vash x Reader
♡ Word count - 0.9k
♡ Warnings - none
♡ Description: You've both been keeping track of each other's letters.
Part of the 150 Bullets drabble series on AO3
Part 1 ---- Part 2 ---- Part 3 ---- Part 4 ---- Part 5 (you are here!)
Tumblr media
The air sizzles with aroma and spices in the cooling night. It’s been a long first day of travel, and Vash can feel his stomach gnawing at his insides in anticipation. Can you blame him? You’re cooking one of his favorite meals, and he hasn’t had it in near a decade.
He does his best not to hover. You need space to move, and you’ve already slapped his wandering hand away from the sliced sausage twice. So, he putters around camp, unpacking essentials, sleeping bags, feeding your tomas her pellets. She’s small for her kind. She blinks gratefully at him when he offers his canteen of water for a sip.
“There you go,” he murmurs, petting her neck as she drinks. “It’s nice to have some water, huh?” He caps the canteen when she shakes her head, finished. “You’re lucky, you know? Getting to travel with her all this time…makes me a bit jealous.” He lets out a small laugh and gives her a good pat on her side.
“What are you muttering to my bird, Stampede?” You call from the fire, a curious and teasing lilt to your tone.
He smiles, finishing up and heading back. “Just wondering how she’ll taste if I cook her. You’re taking forever with dinner. Ah!” He dodges the bit of sand you kick his way. He warms at your laughter. “What?”
“Don’t ‘what’ me.” You retort, settling back down and stirring the meat and sauce in the pan. “It’s almost done. You think after how long you’ve lived you’d have some patience.”
Vash huffs and takes a seat. It’s automatic, his hand reaching to his pocket with your folded and refolded letters in it. The firelight and cool air act like Pavlov effects on him. He pulls one out, then stops and stares at it, wondering how it got there.
You eye him from the side. “What’s that?”
He blinks and clears his throat. “Oh, just…one of your letters.” He acts like he’ll fold it away again but stops. This is weird. How does he play it off? He sees you still and feels a blush creep up his neck. “Must’ve…uh…”
A shuffling draws his attention. You’ve started rifling through your pack. He watches. In a moment, you pull out what looks to be a deep metal box, dented. It squeals when its lid opens on rusty hinges. You pull out a tied pile of letters and show it to him. Tentatively, he takes them from you. He recognizes his handwriting. It’s the letters you’ve kept yourself.
His breath leaves through his nose, and he glances up at you. “You…kept all of them?”
“Of course I did! I loved getting your letters.” Your emphatic reply almost bowls him over. He hadn’t even thought…
Suddenly, he reaches into his pockets again and drags out the letters you’ve written, piling them to his side as the papers come out. All of them are folded and refolded into small squares, trying to take up as little room as he can so he can get more. He’s careful with them; he really should have tied them together like you had, but he was always so busy and always ready to just whip one out and read it…As the letters come out, his ears redden at your gasp.
“Are those…? You kept all of them?” Your eyes shine with something he can’t name.
He pauses and gives you a shy look. “I…really loved getting your letters, too.”
You reach out and take one, gently unfolding it. The paper is worn and torn, the ink faded from weathering what the Humanoid Typhoon goes through daily. Your eyes scan over it, jumping here and there. You laugh at the end. “I always had to take so long to come up with a joke at the end of each one. I’m not gifted in corny jokes like you are.”
Vash snorts and unfolds another letter of yours. “I’m gifted, what can I say,” he mumbles. His eyes can’t read the words in front of him. They’re too drawn to the woman sitting just a few feet away. He watches your expression as you read your letters again, one by one, laughing and remembering what you’ve written. His own lips quirk up. “Hey,” he says, and waits for you to look up, “Where do pirates get their hooks? Secondhand stores.” He drums a beat on his lap and ends with a ‘tss.’
You groan and roll your eyes. “Boo, get off the stage.” You sidle up closer though, reaching for one of his letters and opening it up. “You remember this one? ‘What do you call a sad cup of coffee?’”
“Depresso!” He laughs and grabs at one of your letters, eagerly opening it and looking at the bottom for your joke. “Which is faster, hot or cold?”
You hum for a moment, eyes squinting. “I can’t remember this one. What is it?”
“Hot, because you can catch a cold.”
“Ha! That’s a good one.”
So it goes for the hour and into the night, both of you opening each other’s letters again like new presents and telling bad jokes over dinner. And maybe your fingers brush when you reach for the papers, maybe they linger just a little longer than needed. One thing is for certain – there will be no need for letters again, not while you two are together. Not when you’ve been found again.

A Soldier's Future
Soldier boy x F/Reader
Warnings:  none I guess , maybe a little spicy romance at the end.
Side note: English isn’t my first language

*Does not follow the boys timeline*
Tumblr media
Y/N is a museum clerk at the old Vought Museum on the edge of town. The only and old exhibition about Soldier Boy. One night she met the man himself. After a night out she invited him to her house.
Surprised and confused when he turned out quite different then she thought. Very well-mannered and nice. Or is it all a facade?
--
The next morning
Y/N groaned as she slowly blinked her eyes open, wincing at the sharp pang in her head. The sunlight streaming through the window felt like a thousand daggers stabbing into her skull. With a sigh, she pushed herself into a sitting position, her bleary eyes taking in the familiar surroundings of her room.
As she struggled to piece together the events of the previous night, a vague memory of the night crawled back in her mind. After the failure of the dinner date Soldier boy had saved her from those jerks.
She had offered him another drink at home. a vague memory how they talked and laughed on the couch. And then she remembered the kiss when he went home. A soft smile appeared on her face.
Just as she was about to dismiss it all as a hazy blur and walk to the open kitchen her gaze landed on the figure slouched on her couch, his broad shoulders silhouetted against the morning light. It took her a moment to register the sight before her, her heart skipping a beat as recognition flooded her senses.
Ben.
She watched him sleep, unable to keep her eyes of his naked chest, her heart fluttering with a mixture of disbelief and joy. Had last night really happened? Or was it all just a beautiful dream?
But then Ben stirred, his eyelids fluttering open to reveal those mesmerizing green eyes, and Y/N knew that it was all too real. With a shy smile, she greeted him, her voice barely above a whisper. "Good morning," she said softly.
"Good morning," he murmured, his eyes soft with concern as he took in her dishevelled appearance. "How's your head?" Y/N managed a weak smile, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment at the memory of her hangover. "Not great," she admitted, her voice hoarse from sleep. "But I'll survive."
But as Ben's gaze lingered on her, a strange tension filled the air between them, leaving Y/N feeling uneasy and unsure. Had she misread the situation? Was last night just a mistake? What was on his mind.
Before she could voice her concerns, Ben was already on his feet, his movements stiff and awkward as he made his way to the door. “I really have to eh... go.” He said not looking at her. “Oh... ok.”
"Thanks for... taking me home," she called out, her voice wavering with uncertainty. But Ben just nodded, his expression unreadable as he mumbled a quick goodbye before disappearing out the door. And as Y/N was left alone in the quiet of her living room.
A sinking feeling settling in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't shake the sense of unease that had settled over her like a dark cloud, leaving her feeling vulnerable and exposed.
Had she said something wrong? Done something to push him away? The questions swirled in her mind, each one more agonizing than the last. She had let herself believe, if only for a moment, that last night had meant something to him.
But now, as she sat alone in her living room, she couldn't help but wonder if she had been mistaken all along.
--
Meanwhile, Ben walked the streets with a heavy heart, his thoughts consumed by doubts and fears. He had never felt this way before, not with anyone. Y/N had changed him, turned his world upside down in the span of a single night. And now, as he grappled with the unfamiliar weight of his emotions, he couldn't help but wonder if he had made a mistake.
He had always been a ladies' man, a Casanova, a player, living on the edge. But with Y/N, everything felt different. She had seen through his facade, seen the real him beneath the charming exterior. And now, as he walked the streets alone, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had let her down, that he had failed to live up to the person she believed him to be.
He had already stood her up, left her waiting alone while he dealt with his own demons. Afraid to tell her the truth, he had visited his ex-girlfriend, Crimson Counter mere hours before their date. And when he exploded, he had no idea of time and space for a moment.
After the black out he remembered Y/N, rushing to the museum hoping she would still be there. She had told him to deal with the past was to confront the ghosts of the past. But he was pretty sure she didn’t mean killing your old team.
So instead of facing his fear, telling he honestly what he did, he ran. Like a scared coward.
As Ben stepped into the dimly lit motel room, the tension in the air was palpable. Butcher's eyes narrowed as he glared at Ben, his expression a mixture of anger and frustration.
"Where the fuck have you been?" he demanded, his voice low and dangerous. Ben ignored him. "We had a job to do," he growled, his voice thick with anger. "And you went off the grid." Still no answer.
“Oi!” he pushed his shoulder. “I don’t own you any explanation!” he bit back. Making Butcher lift his hands in the air and take a step back. And as Butcher turned away, his attention already focused on the task at hand, Ben knew that he had a long road ahead of him.
First things first, killing payback, killing Homelander. Maybe, just maybe, then he could face Y/N again. Little did he know his future may change very quickly learning Homelander being his son.
--
After the fight at the Vought tower.
As Ben stumbled through the darkness, his heart heavy with the weight of his revelations, he knew that he was running out of options. The truth of his identity as Homelander's father had shaken him to his core, leaving him reeling with a sense of betrayal and confusion.
But as he reached Y/N's door, his hands trembling with fear and uncertainty, he knew that he had no choice but to seek refuge in her arms. She was the only one he trusted, the only one who had ever truly seen him for who he was.
With a shaky breath, Ben knocked on the door, his knuckles white with tension as he waited for her to answer. And when she finally opened the door, her eyes widened in shock at the sight before her.
"Ben?" she gasped, her voice filled with concern as she took in his bloodied appearance.
He could barely find the words to speak, his throat constricted with emotion as he tried to explain. "I... I need your help," he managed to choke out, his voice hoarse with exhaustion.
Y/N's eyes softened with compassion as she took in his battered form, her heart breaking at the sight of him in pain. Without hesitation, she pulled him into the safety of her apartment, closing the door behind them with a sense of finality.
As Ben collapsed onto the couch, his body trembling with exhaustion, Y/N set to work tending to his wounds. With gentle hands, she cleaned the blood from his skin.
Using a damp cloth, she gently wiped away the blood that stained his skin, her movements slow and deliberate as she worked to remove any traces of dirt or debris.
With each swipe of the cloth, she could see the tension in his muscles begin to ease, his breathing growing steadier as the pain began to recede. Once his wounds were clean, Y/N turned her attention to the task of stitching him up.
Her hands steady as she worked to close the jagged gashes that marred his skin.
And as she worked, she couldn't help but wonder what had brought him to her doorstep in the middle of the night, covered in blood and looking like he fought for his life.
And as she finally finished her work, she looked into Ben's sleepy eyes, with a sense of pride and satisfaction, knowing that she had done everything in her power to help him heal.
With a soft sigh, she leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead, “ You should get some sleep. Take my bed.” He refused and lay down on the couch instead.
The next morning Ben woke by the smell of toast. Realising Y/N was preparing a breakfast for him, her smile worried. "Ben," she said softly, her eyes searching his for answers. "What happened last night? You came to me covered in blood, and I need to know that you're okay."
Ben's heart clenched at the concern in her voice, the love and warmth that shone in her eyes. And in that moment, he knew that he couldn't hide the truth from her any longer.
With a worried heart he told her about what he did to crimson countess, how he met Butcher and that he tried to kill Homelander his son. That the boys turned on him and ambushed him.
As he spoke, Y/N listened in stunned silence, her eyes wide with disbelief and fear. He could see the tension in her body, the way she instinctively drew away from him, as if afraid that the danger he spoke of might somehow touch her too.
Feeling the distance grow between them, Ben's heart clenched with a pang of regret. He hadn't meant to scare her, hadn't wanted to burden her with the darkness of his world. But he knew that he couldn't keep her in the dark any longer, couldn't pretend that everything was okay when it wasn't.
Y/N got up turning her back to him, staring out the window. Y/N met his gaze, her eyes brimming with uncertainty and fear. "I... I don't know what to think," she admitted, her voice trembling with emotion.
In the reflection of the window, she saw Ben's figure approach behind her, his presence looming large in the small space. His hand came to rest gently on her shoulder, and despite herself, she flinched at the unexpected touch.
Ben's touch was warm against her skin, a stark contrast to the chill that had settled in her bones. She could feel the tension in his body, the weight of his own uncertainty pressing against her back.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of her racing heart. "I didn't mean to scare you." He didn’t let go of her. “I need you to trust me, Y/N. I need you to believe that I would never do anything to hurt you."
Y/N closed her eyes, the weight of his words washing over her like a tidal wave. She wanted to believe him, wanted to trust that he would never hurt her. But the fear lingered, a constant presence in the back of her mind, whispering doubts and insecurities into the silence.
Y/N turned slowly to face Ben, her eyes meeting his. In the depths of his gaze, she saw a flicker of uncertainty. But as she looked into his eyes, she couldn't shake the nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach.
These were the eyes of a killer, eyes that had seen things she couldn't even begin to imagine. And despite the warmth of his touch, the gentleness in his voice, she couldn't help but feel a shiver of fear run down her spine.
“What do you need from me?” she asks, he could hear the fear in her voice. "I need you to trust me," he said softly, his voice tinged with vulnerability. "I need you to believe that I'm not the person I once was, that I'm trying to be better, for you."
Y/N's eyes searched his face. Ben reached out and took her hand in his, his touch warm against her skin. She looked at their hands connected. And as she looked back into Ben's eyes, the eyes of a killer, she knew that she had already made her decision. She would stand by him, no matter what.
Y/N's heart raced as Ben leaned in, his lips drawing closer to hers.
She hesitated for a moment, her instincts urging her to pull away. But as she felt his lips brush against hers, a spark ignited within her.
His kiss was like a wildfire, consuming her in its passionate embrace and leaving her breathless in its wake. With each tender caress of his lips, she felt herself surrendering to the intensity of their connection, losing herself in the heat of the moment.
Her senses were overwhelmed by the heady aroma of desire that filled the air, the scent of his cologne mingling with the warmth of his skin. And as she leaned into his touch, her hands trembling with anticipation.
As Ben's kiss grew more urgent, more demanding, a wave of uncertainty washed over Y/N, causing her to instinctively pull back. The sudden shift in intensity caught her off guard, leaving her breathless and disoriented as she struggled to make sense of the turmoil raging within her.
His touch, once so tender and gentle, now felt rough and desperate, sending a shiver of apprehension down her spine. She could feel the heat of his passion burning against her skin.
As she pulled away, a flicker of doubt crossed Ben's features, his eyes searching hers for any sign of hesitation. And in that moment, Y/N knew that she couldn't ignore the nagging doubts that lingered within her.
"Ben," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she struggled to find the words to express her inner turmoil. "I... I need a moment." Ben's irritation flared, her words ringing hollow in his ears.
He had bared his soul to her, had laid his heart on the line in a desperate bid for understanding and acceptance. And yet, despite her assurances of love and support, she still pushed him away when he needed her most.
As Ben glanced at Y/N, seated on the opposite side of the couch, he felt a pang of regret wash over him. The warmth that had once filled the room seemed to have dissipated, replaced by an icy chill that hung heavy in the air between them. He could see the fear etched in the lines of her face, the uncertainty that lingered in her eyes.
For a moment, he wondered if he had made a mistake in telling her about Crimson, if he had been too quick to share the darkest parts of his past without considering the consequences.
He had hoped that honesty would bring them closer together, would strengthen the bond between them. But now, as he watched her retreat into herself, he couldn't help but wonder if he had only succeeded in driving her further away.
He longed to reach out to her, to bridge the divide that had sprung up between them with a single touch. But something held him back, a voice of doubt that whispered warnings in the back of his mind. He had already pushed her too far already.
As Ben returned to the couch with a bottle of wine and a whiskey, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of nostalgia wash over him. The memories of their first night together lingered in the air, a bittersweet reminder of the passion and desire that had once burned between them.
Setting the bottles down on the coffee table, he poured them each a glass, the rich aroma of the whiskey mingling with the sweet scent of the wine. He glanced at Y/N, still seated on the opposite side of the couch, her eyes downcast as she stared into her lap.
"Here," he said softly, offering her a glass. "I thought maybe... a drink might help."
Y/N glanced up at him, her eyes meeting his for the briefest of moments before flickering away again. She reached out and accepted the glass, her fingers trembling slightly as she took a sip.
"Thank you," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
As the flickering images on the TV screen faded to black, Ben turned his attention to Y/N, hoping to break through the tension that had settled between them. He cleared his throat, searching for the right words to say, anything to ease her troubled thoughts.
"So... how was your day?" he asked, his voice gentle as he attempted to steer the conversation toward safer shores. Y/N glanced up at him, her expression softening slightly as she met his gaze. "It was... okay," she replied hesitantly, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
“I found a, eh, new job.” "Tell me about it," Ben pressed on, eager to keep the conversation flowing. She followed him and slowly but surely, he could feel the tension begin to ease.
After a glass of two the conversation was once again filled with laughter.
The warmth of her laughter, the sparkle in her eyes—everything about her seemed to light up the room, filling him with a sense of longing he couldn't ignore.
"So, Y/N," he began, his voice taking on a playful tone as he leaned in closer to her. "I've been meaning to ask... do you believe in fate?" Y/N raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Fate?" she echoed, her tone teasing. "Why do you ask?"
Ben shrugged, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "Well, it's just that... I can't help but feel like maybe, just maybe, we were meant to meet," he said, his voice low and husky as he locked eyes with her.
Y/N's laughter filled the room at Ben's attempt at a smooth line, her eyes dancing with amusement as she teased him. "Oh, come on, Ben," she chuckled, shaking her head. "Do you really expect me to fall for that old 'fate brought us together' routine? That's like, Cheesy Pick-Up Lines 101."
Ben grinned, unable to suppress a laugh at her playful jab. "Hey, I'll have you know that was a classic move," he retorted, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. "But if you think you can do better, I'm all ears."
And with that, the game was on. They traded cheesy pick-up lines back and forth, each one more ridiculous than the last. From cheesy puns to over-the-top compliments, they spared no expense in their quest to one-up each other.
As Y/N rose to refill their glasses, Ben couldn't resist the urge to follow her, his steps closing the distance between them until he was standing just inches away. With a gentle touch, he guided her into his embrace, his arms wrapping around her waist as he pulled her close.
"Hey," he murmured, his voice low and intimate as he looked down at her, a playful glint in his eyes. "You know, they say that eyes are the windows to the soul... but I think yours are more like a doorway to heaven."
Y/N's cheeks flushed a rosy pink at his words, her breath catching in her throat as she met his gaze. The intensity of his stare sent a shiver down her spine, stirring something deep within her that she couldn't quite name.
"Ben," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath as she searched for the right words to respond. "That's... that's really sweet."
Ben smiled, a warm, genuine expression that reached all the way to his eyes. "Just speaking the truth," he said softly, his fingers tracing a gentle path along her cheek. "Your eyes, your lips... they're the most beautiful things I've ever seen."
As Ben gazed into Y/N's eyes, he felt a magnetic pull drawing him closer to her. His heart raced with anticipation as he traced the delicate curve of her lips with his eyes, lingering on the soft, inviting curve before meeting her gaze once more.
He takes the drinks out of her hands and pulled her closer to him.
The warmth of her body pressed against his, the gentle rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. He knew that he couldn't rush this, couldn't force her into something she wasn't ready for.
So instead, he leaned in slowly, his movements deliberate as he closed the gap between them with agonizing slowness. His lips brushed against hers with feather-light caresses, testing the waters, seeking permission without words.
And then, finally, he felt her respond, her lips parting ever so slightly beneath his own as she melted into his embrace.
as their kiss deepened, he heard a soft sound escape from Y/N's lips—a delicate, breathy moan that sent a shiver down his spine. It was a sound of pure pleasure, a silent invitation to explore further, to delve deeper into the depths of their shared desire.
For a moment, Ben hesitated, unsure if he had heard correctly. But then, as Y/N's moans grew louder, more insistent, he knew that there was no mistaking the arousal that burned within her.
Encouraged by her response, he deepened the kiss, his lips moving hungrily against hers as he sought to elicit even more delicious sounds from her. His lips traced a path along the curve of her jawline, down the slender column of her neck, relishing in the way her breath hitched with each teasing touch.
And as he felt her body respond to his ministrations, her moans growing louder and more urgent. As Ben's lips found their way back to Y/N's, he felt a surge of desire coursing through him, urging him to explore every inch of her with a newfound hunger. His tongue danced eagerly with hers, twirling and entwining in a passionate embrace that left them both breathless.
As Ben felt himself being overwhelmed by the intensity of Y/N's moans, he reluctantly pulled back, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he tried to regain control of his emotions.
"Y/N," he murmured, his voice husky with desire, "I... I need you to stop. I don't know if I can... if I can control myself if we keep going like this." But before he could finish his sentence, Y/N reached out and pulled him back in, her lips crashing against his with a fierce urgency that took his breath away. "I don't care," she whispered, her voice hoarse with desire. "I don't care where this ends.”
With a strength born of desire and determination, Ben effortlessly lifted Y/N into his arms, carrying her to the couch where he gently laid her down. As she gazed up at him with wide eyes filled with longing, he lowered himself on top of her, their bodies fitting together as if they were made for each other.
His hands roamed over her body, tracing the curves and contours with a reverence that spoke of his adoration. Every touch sent shivers of pleasure coursing through her, igniting a fire that burned hotter with each passing moment.
As Ben's lips caressed Y/N's body with a tenderness that belied the intensity of his desire, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe wash over him. With each whispered confession of desire, he felt himself opening up in ways he had never thought possible.
"You drive me crazy, Y/N," he murmured, his voice husky with emotion. "But in the best possible way. You've changed me, made me see things differently. You've... you've made me better."
"Ben... You are not a bad guy."
And as she spoke, his lips trailed a path of fire along her skin, leaving a trail of longing and need in their wake. He lost himself in the taste and scent of her, revelling in the way she responded to his touch, her breath hitching with each caress.
As Ben continued to explore Y/N's body with his lips and hands, he couldn't shake the overwhelming sense of connection he felt with her. With each tender touch, each whispered confession, he felt himself unravelling, laying bare his soul for her to see.
"You see right through me," he murmured against her skin, his voice thick with emotion. "From the moment you looked at me, I knew you saw me for who I truly am. And I... I've never felt more alive than when I'm with you."
"You found me when I had no idea who I was."
As Y/N's hands ventured underneath his shirt, moving over his heart to his shoulder.
A thrill of anticipation shot through Ben, his skin tingling at her touch. With a gentle caress, she pulled his shirt off, exposing his chest to the warm glow of the room.
"Fuck! You have no idea what you do to me, Y/N," he murmured against her skin, his voice thick with desire. "The way you look at me, the way you touch me... it drives me wild."
Feeling her hands exploring his bare skin sent a shiver of desire coursing through him, igniting a fire that burned hotter with each passing moment. He leaned in closer, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he whispered, "Are you sure you're ready for this, Y/N?”
He locked eyes with her, “I'm not... I'm not a soft lover. I can be... intense, to say the least." He didn't want to hurt her, but he couldn't deny the raw hunger that burned within him, urging him to claim her as his own.
Y/N met his gaze with a fierce determination, a little giggle, her eyes filled with a longing that mirrored his own. "I'm ok with that," she whispered, her voice husky with desire. "I want this."
“Are you absolutely sure, because I won’t leave you anymore if we do this. I don’t think I can.” As she caressed his shoulders she looks up at his green eyes. “Ben. I want you... all of you. The good and the bad. ”
And with those words, all hesitation melted away as Ben surrendered himself to her.
Finally finding the love and peace he searched for all these decades.
--
I know, I know a very cheesy ending, but deep down we know Ben is a softy, right... right?

They used to love one another, long ago. Not loudly, nor ferociously, or even in a way that the other knew about, but they did. She knows that now. It could have stayed simple. They could have stayed apart. It has been years since she's been deployed to Marley, to live and work under a secret identity; and grieve as she may have for him, she could have lived with it. She really could have. They could have stayed star-crossed, torn away by war, but things just had to get difficult. Now, with tensions rising, she is forced to relocate – to trek through the lone mountains in the desolate Marleyan wilderness, in an attempt to clandestinely reach a port outside Liberio. And in another world it would have, perhaps, been a task of a casual undertaking. It could have been simple. Were it not for him, by her side: the man she has grieved for this entire time. Were it not for this one simple, stupid mistake.
Tumblr media
It carries on as their new routine, this strange, gentle impasse between them. Their travels grow marked by harsher and colder nights, rain pattering on the fabric of their tent more often than not. They, too, grow used to one another, in a sense of the word; no longer does the once-alive distance between them fester, and no longer do they startle when woken in the early morning light, this close to one another. Their conversations, once still so tentative, grow open and bare, and they, too, now sit flushly side by side, resting early morning and night. It becomes easier, in a way. In a way, it does not.
Each morning they linger, as if bound by some decree. They are late for their hike each morning, but this they do not seem to mind. When they wake, they talk in hushed voices, things that once seemed meaningless passing between them; and when they rise, it is almost, almost with great difficulty: hands gliding over the skin of the other's palms, as if pulled back towards, backwards; as if unable to let go.
She pretends, at first, that his eyes do not linger on her. He smiles fondly at her, when he thinks she does not see, and each time, each time she tucks it safely away, deep within some hidden crevice in her heart. Slowly, some shift forms between them, both intangible and incorporeal, but so perceptibly real that, some nights, she feels she could reach out and touch it. It feels a far cry now, this space between them; not from the first night they've spent in these mountains, but before: from the fleeting touches and the friendly embraces they've shared back on Paradis, those which now seem to bear no weight to the delicate hold he has on her once the sun hides from them.
She tries not to think of it too much. She does try. Even when she'd watch him stoke the fire as the sun toiled downwards, her hands idle by his side, or when she'd dare not fight the urge to watch him, just for a moment, on the rare early mornings when she would wake first. Even when her heart would beat, loud, so loud, at the sound of her name in his mouth.
Even when she'd feel his hands brush hers, or at a strand of her hair, or at her lower back, always pulling right back, as if scorched – as if overwhelmed by the sharp, roiling electricity between them. She pretends she is not pulled, magnetized by the polarity of his being, pulled taut by strings she does not see. But some days, some days, she, breathless, would catch him watching her indolently, gaze soft with something that covers her skin whole – and those days she can't pretend. Those days, she feels as if she were treading water, deep to her knees, and she feels it still and warm.
And even when they ready for bed, they no longer seem to hesitate. Her hands do not flinch when she lays them flat against his back, and his own squeeze at her frame, once in a while – ever so gently, as if telling her something too tender for words; as if checking, with this permeating earnestness, if she is still there, still in his arms. And when she sleeps, she does so with her cheek to his chest, feeling, truly, just how discordantly his chest rattles at her presence.
"Are you listening?" Armin asks her, looking at her with an amused glint in his eye. He walks so close to her she can feel his warmth on her arm, and she would startle, perhaps – in another time.
"Not really. Sorry. Please repeat?"
"Something on your mind?"
"Nothing much," she tells him earnestly, and she grins on instinct once she sees that sheer, stubborn expression on his face.
"So elusive," he says, and he bumps his shoulder into hers. It travels through her. "Tell me?"
"Well," she gives in, finding herself pliant to him. She watches, with a gentle smile, as a satisfied, grateful light passes through his eyes. "I was thinking of this. That I’m going to miss this, in a way."
"Really?" He asks her, far too quickly, far too brightly, and she stops walking, torn between bursting open with laughter and nearly scolding him. He smiles at her, cheeks dusted pink, bashful and shy now that he knows he has loused up. "Sorry," he says, corners of his lips curled so delicately that it almost steals her breath, and she wonders if he will ask her, the thing lying sly beneath his excitement: which part?
But he doesn't. He stands still with her, cheeks blushed and grin shy, and she's breathless when she tells him: "Really." For a moment, she wonders if she should tell him still, even if he did not question her; she wonders if he is waiting for it, as eagerly as he'd reacted to her at first. But as she stands there, zenith sun so bright in his golden hair, her hands feel heavy, and her tongue twists, and she finds herself unable to say it, so instead she tells him: "I'd walk and walk through these mountains with you, Armin."
And it strikes her when he smiles. Eyelashes fluttering down as he peers over to the ground, cheeks dimpled from the grin that graces him, and her heart flutters, and flutters, her hands aching by the straps of her backpack, idle sharply from the sparks within them.
Then, grin wide and fierce, he tells her: "Let's keep walking, then." He turns and walks, straight in front of her, his step so eager it is as if she'd told him just what he wanted to hear, and she laughs as she watches him. Her step falters, of course; watching him, she knows that this road will not last. Watching him, she knows, she knows, fervently, that soon this journey will come to end. She could pray, of course, that it would not; she could pray that things would not change, or that he would stay those four steps ahead, always within her sight. But she does not.
He turns back to her. He looks at her, eyes bright and burning, hand outreached before her – as if beckoning. There’s no wind or air in her lungs. She just smiles. Then she steps forward, to him.

By implying that children are too stupid and rude to learn about the world and learn how the world works and how to interact with others, you are casting responsibility away from the people who are responsible for that child's upbringing and placing the blame on the children (who don't have the autonomy given to them to be allowed to decide what they want) who can't help what they do and do not learn, often.
If the children aren't okay, then investigate why before turning to thought-terminating clichés of, "Well, the kids are just stupid and dumb and aren't even worth the effort because they're lazy!"
#youth liberation#i was really bothered when i saw this clip where this person was saying almost verbatim that...#...'kids [these days] are too STUPID and they're teachers are scared!'...#...why is the blame placed on the kids who have no control over school curriculum and what their home life is like or if they have money...#...it's because when you place the blame on the people with no power or control you don't have the responsibility to change circumstances..#...you essentially keep the status quo while simultaneously belittling a group of vulnerable people...#...and thus you feed into the cyclical nature of the broken education system#the kids these days AREN'T okay but it ISN'T THEIR FAULT...#...it's the fault of late-stage capitalism and poorly-funded education and a world that wasn't even built with them in mind...#...they had NO PART in the creation of the world which is hostile to their entire existence#don't mind the incorrect usage of their in the second tag i was so focused on how pissed i was#also remember how a good chunk of these kids lived through *checks notes* the fucking PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN#which was a clown show in terms of supporting kids and their parent/s#some places handled lockdown in the US better than others but holy fuck in my area at least it was a nightmare#what do you expect from parents who are now working full-time and teaching part/full-time and parenting full-time?#what support exactly are you expecting they recieved? because you'll likely find they got either a little or NONE#hilarious that i used the wrong their in a post subtweeting about education LOL#look i was focused on how PISSED i was lol cut me some slack here

#it actually makes me sick like physically ill how much praise is heaped onto goyishe american leftists#people who could not point to gaza on a map six months ago. whose knowledge of middle east history comes from outdated textbooks and twitte#for being anti imperial activists and well educated anti imperialists with all the right buzzwords and all the right opinions#meanwhile nothing i say will ever be good enough bc i'm jewish and palestinians are tokenized by people who care more about appearing#like someone who Listens to Palestinians as opposed to 1) doing anything material to help them (like donating money)#and 2) not spreading obvious misinformation. something that does material damage to the cause of liberation#AND further fuels the most insidious of zionist propaganda which relies on the antisemitism of ignorant western goys#this propaganda banks on their antisemitism bc it's that fucking reliable#every white western goy that harasses jews or spreads misinfo about jews or is straight up just racist towards random israeli immigrants#ppl living in the west like running coffee shops that are now having their windows smashed bc that what? supports palestinian liberation?#makes it that much easier for actual zionist propagandists to say 'see. this was never about imperialism. they want an excuse to harm you.'#'you are only safe with us'#i grew up in a cauldron of this kind of propaganda and i was playing on hard mode i got it from the orthodox#it took years of dutiful unlearning. of wrestling with some really difficult realities. of realizing that i'd been not only lied to#but information had been deliberately kept from me to keep me from knowing the true depths of the horror happening in gaza#i did not get the luxury of starting to care about this six months ago during a concerted effort to correct the record#i had to put in the effort to unlearn two decades of propaganda given to me so young i don't remember a time when i didn't know it#and i am by far not the only jew with this experience#i have put in way more effort to care about this than every white western goy with a megaphone posting palestinian flags on IG#but none of that matters bc i am a jew and for the last 5000+ years we don't get to decide how we're discussed or how we're remembered#never mind how many jewish voices (and yes! even israeli voices!) have been supporting liberation efforts in palestine for years.#who've done an amazing job reaching more people who need help seeing through the propaganda they were raised on#i can only be a token who speaks only in protest chants or i can be an evil zionist. the anti imperial work doesn't matter.#bc anti imperial work is hard and none of them actually want to do it they just want the protest photos#anyway this is why i don't discuss this on the piss on the poor website. tbh i don't trust y'all
