Okay, so I did a thing. I spent some time going through my blog and labeling everything I've personally reblogged. If you search the tags "Mia Recommends" & "Mia's Favorites" you'll find a host of fics.

I mostly only read Han, Seungmin, Chan, and Lee Know so that will mostly be my recs.

Connected by @sky-yuna - Poly ot8! Series - lots and lots of smut, angst, fluff you name it, this series has it. I absolutely adore this series and it's probably one of my favorite ones out there. Each relationship with the boys is so special, and they do a good job of spreading the love, literally and figuratively, between all of the boys and the reader in this series. Back Burner by @astraystayyh - Han x Reader - angst - this one will just hurt your heart and it's so relatable, honestly. I claim to not read a lot of angst, but you can tell by this list that I clearly do. This one will hurt your feelings, I assure you.

ZIP - by @cb97percent -Chan x Reader - smut, fluff, fwb - This one is absolutely beautifully written. I'm a sucker for friends with benefits trope as evident in several of my recs so far. The writing in this one is just, *chefs kiss*

Catfish? - by @seungminheart - Han x Reader - smut, crack, fluff - this one is absolutely fucking hilarious. It's a rockstar! Han fic and it's just, you'll love it. This author recently stole my heart with this fic and a Seungmin one. They are so so so talented. They have a Lee Know one they just put out today that I can't wait to read! They have other pairings as well and I would recommend any and everything they write.

Go ahead and cry - by @hyunsvngs - Seungmin x Reader, smut - this one is part of a series called "Hot Bitch Summer" and the way I was absolutely so weak for this part in particular. It's just all smut all the time in this series. It's only "Poly-esque" fic series. You'd have to read it to really understand what I mean by the esque. - I understand a poly fic may not be for everyone so please skip it if its not for you.

August is a Fever - by @seungminheart - Seungmin x Reader, smut, fluff - This may well be one of my favorite reads I've read in the skz fanfiction world. The friendship between Hyunjin and the reader in this one is fucking hilarious. The dynamic with Seungmin, kind of enemies to lovers esque but isn't. You'll just have to read it to understand. The writing is absolutely immaculate. This writer really has something special.

Photobooth - by @astraystayyh - Seungmin x Reader, fluff - this one is just so precious. It's so sweet you'll melt.

As I wrap this up, I realize how much I absolutely love reading Seungmin x Reader fics. They have a special place in my heart. I was kind of surprised there was more of him on this list than Han. They are both my ults, but I feel like Seungmin has been trying to declare himself the top ult recently.

Hi! I'm a mostly quiet follower admirer of your blog and I have no idea why I followed you but I like your blog, lot's of diversity and queer "stuff" and I kind of love it (Okay I love it a lot) I'm anonymlous because I'm kind of old, but I wanted to let you know I saw a gif or a question list maybe about some series called "The Sign" and it looked interesting (like young me would have devoured it if it came out in her time) and so I thought what the heck I'll check it out.

I found it on youtube, watched all of the ones they had (up to episode 5) and am now hooked. Is there a place to watch this and others like it that supports the actors? I mean free is nice but it doesn't pay the actors. I did do some research but google isn't helpful when it comes to services from around the world (is anyone surprised? Sacrasm intended). I can probably only afford one? So I was thinking of doing iQIYI, but I'm not sure? Where do you watch your content mostly? OR do you have recommendations for subscriptions services that might be better?

Also, any other shows you recommend?

If your goal is to support the actors, YouTube is the best place to watch The Sign and other queer (Thai) shows like it because the episodes are released on YouTube by the official productions house. For example, you have IdolFactory which is the official production house for The Sign.

Then you have GMMTV, one of the largest, most prolific producers of Thai BL on YouTube followed by Studio Wabi Sabi, MeMindY, and Mandee just to name a few.

There are also "smaller" production houses like Star Hunter Entertainment, Dee Hup House, Dược sĩ Tiến Entertainment (Vietnamese), STRONGBERRY (Korean) and VIBIE STUDiO, O2 Production (Vietnamese), and Oxin Films (Pinoy).

So to answer your question, I watch most of my content on YouTube. And since you're just getting started, you will find more than enough content to keep you entertained there. However, if you are truly in the market for a subscription service for bl/queer content, I would recommend GagaOOLala. iQIYI does have a few gems (KinnPorsche, Laws of Attraction, Dead Friend Forever (airing), Blueming, Sing My Crush, La Pluie etc.) and the uncut versions of a few shows (Love in the Air, Wedding Plan, Bed Friend, Pit Babe etc.), but in my opinion, you would definitely get more variety (in terms of regions and genres) and bang for your buck with GagaOOLala.

For a more in-depth analysis on streaming services, I recommend reading this post by @absolutebl as it can help you make a more informed decision regarding the streaming service that would be the best fit for you.

Hi there! I'm just getting into sewing as a hobby, and I was wondering if you have any recommendations for where to buy fabric? I want to get into plushie making, so something like minky fabric or other soft (non-felt) options are what I'm looking for. I live in a pretty remote area so I don't have any fabric or craft stores close by, and I'm unsure of where to start shopping online! Any recommendations for shops that have good quality fabric at a decent price?

Hi! All my answers are US-based because I am, but I'll include a link to Cholyknight's fabric recs as well because she has some other options Okay I just went to get that link and it turns out since the last time I shared it she's updated it to include my favorite online minky store (CaliQuiltCo) so I'd just use her link, with two caveats: Joann's fabric is great in person if you have one locally, but their online inventory control system is SO BAD (which means they will sometimes cancel part of your order without warning and not let you cancel the rest of it, leaving you with half the supplies for a specific project) Additionally, I would avoid the "sew lush" fabrics from Joanns. Minky can be a little tricky to work with for beginners, and the sew lush version takes every negative thing about minky and makes it exponentially more difficult. This is a personal grudge against the fabric, it might not be universal, but I find it so ridiculously slippery and it's the only minky/faux fur I've ever, ever worked with that unravels at the edges. It's knit! It shouldn't fray but it does! It both sheds and frays, and it's regrettable because Joanns does have some very cute patterns in their sew lush stuff Other plushie specific advice: - if you want to learn how to use plushie sewing patterns, start here with Cholyknight's free plushie pattern pack. I have free patterns too, but hers are a lot more beginner friendly and explain how to actually use a pattern - Fleece is cheaper than minky but usually has a similar amount of stretch, so patterns designed for one can almost always be made using the other - if there are no craft stores near you but there's a dollar store or general store of some kind, you could try getting a fleece or like short pile faux fur blanket? The ones near me usually have cheap like throw sized blankets for anywhere between 5-20 dollars, and you can make a lot of plushies from a throw sized blanket

So, an article about episode 5 from the LA Times quotes Ruby as saying, “I think for us, as queer people, it was really awesome to get the chance to explore queer friendships on screen." And then in this interview for Photobook she's quoted as saying, "Being able to portray an authentic depiction of queer relationships was a huge deal for me. If I grew up with a princess like Kit, rooting for the relationship between her and her best friend. I feel like I would have understood myself a lot more, way sooner."

After a sudden flash of light, a cardboard box that's coated in cute space stickers appears outside of a forest.

When the box flaps flip open, out pops the head of a young girl. She looked to be about thirteen.

The girl had on a brightly-colored bike helmet with white and yellow stars decorated on the front and back.

Judging from the joy that was radiating on her face, she was beyond excited to be in a new location.

Where exactly was she situated?

The 13-year-old couldn't tell.

She had a hunch she might be in the 40th century, but the flock of flying eyeballs with bat wings that she saw soaring in the fair sky said otherwise.

This girl was named G/N.

She was a futuristic time traveler from the year 3012.

Getting out of her box, G/N is revealed to have a robotic right arm. She also wore a really cute outer space outfit.

Reaching her human hand into the box, she pulls out a small, digital camcorder, along with a tripod.

Once those were properly set up, she stood in view and began recording herself.

After a wave at the camera, she starts her enthusiastic speech.

"Hi, guys! G/N, here! Today, I'm outside of a strange forest! I think it might be enchanted or something. Still not sure where I am, but I saw some flying eyesballs! No joke, they had wings! They flew right by my head!"

G/N was also a vlogger who loved sharing her travels through time with her viewers.

She always had a blast doing so!

Just last week she was in 1762 recording THE Mozart playing live at one of his classical concerts for them.

As she continued to speak, in the background, a bearded man in a blue coat was approaching the forest.

Picking up on the sound of grassy footsteps, G/N turns, her gaze now on him.

Seeing the scruffy man, she gasped, looking back at her camera.

She became sparkly-eyed as she spoke, directing a finger at the man.

"Oh, my gosh, A LOCAL!"

She had to say hi.

Quickly lifting her camera off her tripod, the young time traveler rushes towards him.

"Hey!"

Turning around, the man, upon seeing the girl, stopped and stood still like a startled wet kitten.

What was that strange device she had in her hand?

And why did she have it aimed at him like that?

Was she going to shoot him?

Was this karma catching up with him?

He clutched his satchel close.

"Hi there!" The girl greets in a cheerful tone, offering him a big smile. "My name is G/N! I'm from the future! What's your name?"

"Uh... Philip..." The man slowly replied, still clutching his bag.

"Nice! Say, Philip, what year is this?"

" ... 1660?" Or was it '70? He lost track sometimes.

"Sweet! I've never been to the 1600's before."

That definitely explained the man's accent and attire.

As G/N begins to take a picture of Philip, he quickly lifts his satchel to his face like a shield.

"Oh, no, no, no, don't worry," she speedily reassures, showing him the photo she took. "I just took a picture. See?"

She thinks doing this might ease the man's fear.

Lowering his satchel some, Philip saw the picture of himself.

A genuine look of interest spread on his face.

A device that captures an image at just the press of a button?

Fascinating.

Truly fascinating.

G/N gave a giggle at his reaction. "Yeah, cameras are pretty cool. But anyways, you probably know this place a heck of a lot better than I do. I was wondering, would you mind show me around some? I would love to capture even more stuff on my camera."

Her question earns her a frown from Philip.

"No," The brunette would bluntly state.

He was stern on his decision to not show her around, but she was persistent.

She kept on bugging him, and Bugging Him, and BUGGING HIM.

"please?"

"Please?"

"PLEASE? 🥺 🙏"

"You'll be internet famous."

Finally, he sighed.

"Fine." He couldn't believe he was giving in to this random girl.

It wasn't for the "internet fame" by the way as he had not a clue what an "internet" even was.

And so began the start of a beautiful father daughter friendship...

My hand doesn't hurt anymore thankfully, and the wrist, which was the real fucked up spot, is healing fine-ish, would be better if I could stop working but I'm a freelancer, no paid time off for me so I'm just slowing down. It's good that I caught it before the situation turned into a disaster, and also good that I got the habit of lying about how much time my work takes, I work well enough that they won't complain about me being slow.

So overall it's fine, I got the day off tomorrow for good Friday, and so long as I rest and do my stretches I should get better. I tried writing something today but only got a little done cause I'm relying on my phone and the swift function, thank God for whoever invented that. But maybe I'm gonna post it as a teaser. Do you have a specific place where you buy your cloth for them? And do you look for a specific kind as well? I believe it's called minky or something similar, right?

That's awesome!! Sewing plushies is so fun, and I hope you enjoy it! I buy my plushie making fabric in a few different places. Nowadays, I usually buy minky from CaliQuiltCo on Etsy. I like CaliQuiltCo because they let you buy minky by the 1/4 yard or a cut they call a "fat half", which is 36" by 30". I usually get the fat half; I find it's a more usable cut of fabric for plushie making and with most of the things I make half a yard lasts me quite a while I get my fleece, faux fur, and faux sherpa fabrics from Joanns Fabric, a chain craft store in the US. I would only recommend buying from Joanns in person, not online. They've had some issues with inventory management online, and sell a lot of their minky in 2 yard minimums, which is a LOT of one color for plushie making (all of this is based off of experiences I had with Joanns website a few years ago. They might be better now, idk). In person, they also have remnants bins where you can get the remnants from a bolt of fabric (usually a yard or less) at a huuuuge discount. That's the main place I get my faux furs because faux furs can be really really expensive. If you're starting out sewing, I'd recommend fleece. It's significantly cheaper than minky, almost as soft, has a similar amount of stretch (so you can use it on the same patterns), and I've heard it's easier for beginners to work with when starting out. Oh, one more thing: I recommend Shannon minky, specifically their cuddle 3 minky. Their longer pile minky fabrics are good too, but they are significantly trickier to sew, to the point where sometimes I just handsew them instead of machine sewing

I read the first chapter or two of the unofficial translation and the acupuncture stuff just kinda put me off, that's too close to quackery for me to take it seriously, so I was wondering about your thoughts on it

personally acupuncture is not for me, i have a strong fear of needles so the thought of anyone sticking needles into my body is terrifying, but i also feel that way about any kind of shot so i am probably not the best person to ask. as for whether it is quackery,,, maybe it's just that i'm not a native english speaker but that sounds like a loaded word lmao. i think it has to have some benefits, but definitely not to the level some attribute it. i would group it along with chiropractic (which by the way rakiel also does). useful for some people if done correctly but only if accompanied by actual medical advice lol.

plus. i think most people forget how recent most modern medicine is. for a long ass time herbal remedies, acupuncture, moxibustion, things we now consider as outdated or primitive or outright barbaric,,, well they were all that were available at the time. it was the best they could do. it wasn't that doctors and healers of that time didn't want to do better, they literally couldn't. and some of this stuff is still deeply tied to some cultures, is still respected as traditional methods of treatment. to call it quackery feels just,,,, a little icky.

now rakiel is from the modern era, but still, he's not someone who tries to scam people by offering fake miracle treatments with acupuncture or whatever. he's just offering whatever help he can with what he knows to do.

and really this is a fantasy novel. massive spoilers ahead but like. rakiel talks with his goddamn organs. he can get a diagnosis by taking people's pulse. he cured fucking covid with the help of a dragon. his own bone dragon takes x-rays by sneezing. damian uses his excess glucose to make mana blasts. medical accuracy is well behind us.

so like. i get why you could be put off by the treatments he uses, they're not very accurate and are definitely being exaggerated for the sake of the plot, but. they're not much more outlandish that everything lloyd is doing in tged lol. i think it's just that most of us are less familiar with civil engineering that we are with medicine and, uh, basic human anatomy, so we can more easily call bullshit on some of the wild plot devices ajksdka
