Mizu walked. Like always, being followed by Ringo and his sister. You were quiet, but agreeable. Mizu only allowed you to follow because Ringo didn't want to leave you alone with your father. The sky weaned and the sun began to fall. Purple and black scattered to the East. Nightfall would arrive soon, Mizu thought absently. Her body ws always tense, ready to pounce on enemies, but her mind? Tranquile. Calm, it seemed like the soft, unmoving ocean.

You were only taken in by Ringo after being left on the noodleshops doorsteps. A cliche backstory, but what could you do? Growing up with Ringo was the best outcome of your childhood. Because of him, you had a certain joy within your aura. Despite the lack of speaking, socializing you did normally, you had good spirit. You were good.

The group set up camp. A fire was lit, courtesy of Ringo and you just looked around for sticks. A silence spread throughout the wintery forest. Mizu sliced the air, releasing an audible sound of her precision. You had stumbled across her, coming face to face when she cut down a tree with ease. You yelped.

"What are you doing here?" She grumbled. You shrugged, softly quipping, "Collecting sticks. What do you want to eat tonight?"

Mizu wondered why you even asked, "..." She rolled her shoulders, narrowing icy eyes behind her lens at you. "Anything is fine."

"Well, okay." You turned to walk away.

An hour after, you were all sitting around the fire as the pot simmered. You stood, grabbing small wooden bowls and scooping the soup into it. There were only two so you gave Ringo one and was about to hand the second bowl to Mizu when her hand stopped it.

"Drink some first. I can eat when you're done."

Confused as you were, you nodded slowly and sipped it. After half the soup was gone you refilled and slid it to Mizu who had dozen off, or at least that's what it looked like. She ate, and eventually you and Ringo fell asleep.

But this didn't just happen once. Another trip to Mihonoseki proved to be a habit of hers.

She broke a rice cake piece before even touching it and shoved it in your hand. Walking idly, you were startled and paused looking down at the crumbled, small piece of dry rice cake. Immediately you swallowed it, to be frank you weren't even hungry but, oh well.

Ringo knew something was weird with Mizu and his sister. First, he didn't pay mind because Mizu is just... odd in general. Not until the third instance where, Mizu not only offered, but refused to eat until you had taken a piece or a bite, did he start thinking more about it. His sister was pretty, he didn't try to disagree but you were oblivious to say the least, unable to see what's in front of you.

Mizu calmly set her chopsticks down. "Try it, I'm sure it's good but I can't risk being poisoned."

Another silly excuse, Ringo rolled his eyes digging into his own bowl of soba noodles. You sighed, dragging Mizu's bowl in front of you and slurping one, exactly one noodle.

"Tastes good to me, now eat! It's almost closed." You tried to hurry her. She seemed unfazed as now and only now Mizu began to eat the soba.

Ringo made an excuse to pull you outside while Mizu finished, (it was incredibly obvious and clumsy.)

"Hey. You must have noticed something weird with Mizu now right?" He holds you by your shoulders.

You purse your lips, "Um..? No.. If you mean her in general, well, I think that's just how she is."

Ringo exhales harshly. The cold wind making itself known in your ears. "No, her habit. Habit of making you eat her food first? Making sure "it tastes good?" Habit of randomly offering you her very first bite? Anything ring bells in your little head?" He grew more frustrated, practically shaking you.

You held up your hands, admitting defeat. "I thought it was just me!"

"You know, it seems oddly intimate for a person like Mizu." He noted. "You don't think..." Ringo gasped, loudly. Mizu appeared outside, her sword clinked as she looked around wildly for danger.

She furrowed her brows at you both, "Excuse me." Mizu walked back into the noodle shop.

"Mizu likes you." Ringo breathlessly, excitedly, exclaimed.

"What?!"

So, I actually have some interesting thoughts on Wukong as a parent, specifically if you consider his species and hoa they interact with their children. While it's true he's a Stone Monkey, research indicates he's actually based in a real-life species of macaque. The resus macaque to be exact.

What does this mean for Wukong? Well, resus macaques are not only matrilinear, meaning females technically outrank the males, and the matrilinear lines exist in a ranking system, so a macaque's "rank" is depending on where their mother sits in the troop, and Wukong is the highest ranking monkey in the troop. Which brings us to his child rearing skills...

They're basically nonexistent. Or at least, they would be, if he were a normal resus macaque. Resus macaques usually tend to be hands off parents, males having absolutely no role in the raising of young and female macaques often tend to leave the responsibility of raising young to their younger and more immature daughters.

So, if MK was an unexpected child for Wukong to raise, he'd probably be panicking and look to his own troop for advice on raising a baby monkey... and see that the mothers tend to leave their offspring with their younger sisters or daughters. Wukong doesn't have anyone he can leave MK with, at least, nobody he knows as themselves...

Wukong's last real "troop" had been the Pilgrims. He is the eldest of the Pilgrims, with Zu Baije as the second eldest by virtue of being the second to join. Zu Baije has been reincarnated into a noodleshop owner down in the city where MK would likely be safe.

While the Stone Monkeys and Monkey Demons have social structures different from irl Rhesus Macaques, Wukong probably did panic and default to "give baby to troop member" when he couldnt figure out how to care for MK on his own. And his closest "troop" was the Pilgrims so...

Also the idea of him ranking Bajie as just below him cus he joined later is very in character XD

I want some happiness for Sun Wukong so I’ll write about it!!

Sun Wukong is around Zhu-dachu’s (Pigsy) noodleshop, after he visited a sick Qi Xiaotian (MK), when he hears him yelling. An important event Zhu-dachu will cater to was pushed ahead to the next day. He still needs to prepare ingredients and dishes, none of his friends or business partners have time on such short a notice to lend their help, and Qi Xiaotian is sick!

Sun Wukong doesn’t know what compels him to offer his help where the chef needs it, even after Zhu-dachu looks at him dubious. (Although he understands his reluctance. Sun Wukong, who avoided them before, now offering to help. And he did make light of cooking around Zhu-dachu’s ears before!)

To his surprise, Zhu-dachu asks him how good he’s at cutting and prepping vegetables.

Sun Wukong, after a short demonstration, is very good.

It’s somewhat awkward still, but they do work well together. He’s made clones to buy fresh ingredients while others store the prepped dishes.

Their teamwork really gets going on the day of the catering, though. Sun Wuong wears a cooking cap and a mask for both a) hiding his identity and b) keeping hair out of the food. They prep, cook, serve.

Zhu-dachu is amazed how polite Sun Wukong is around nasty customers. Sun Wukong returns the compliment. When Zhu-dachu lets loose the cusses backstage when they’re on their own, Sun Wukong makes a quip about an especially annoying customer before he even notices what he’s saying. It sends Zhu-dachu into howls of laughter. Their trash-talk becomes more and more ridiculous.

OK new headcanon/AU

Those villains in the finale aren’t going back to Kryptarium, they’ll be put under some kind of watch program (meaning that they’re basically free but all have a legal guardian and one step out of line is prison) and they can now prove to be better while also “redeeming” themselves and starting a career to support themselves. 

Favourite idea for this: Skylor officially joins the ninja and now hires Ronin to work as manager and business executive in her shop while she’s gone. After all, they are canon firends and Ronin has the money instinct for business. He takes his criminal friends with him and they now all spend their days as salty colleagues giving out fast food.

Ronin’s biggest struggles are to make sure Killow doesn’t break the walls walking in, Fugidove makes sure to serve the chickendishes because he believes they’re pigeons and Ultra Violet doesn’t stab the 57th Karen of the week. 

It’s a noodleshop coffeshop AU with criminal psychopaths working as colleagues while Ronin keeps his employees/friends in check and SKylor wtaches the hellfire go down. It’s great. 10/10, would watch 3 seasons and a movie.

Jiao-Long Dragon things:

- Doesn't mind being called Jay-Long. He thinks he sounds really cool. Or just "Jiao" works too, ngl.

- Has a somewhat turbulent relationship with his grandfather, aka, Ao Shun the Black Dragon. A huge reason why he moved in with Mei and his aunts and uncles is because he needed some space from his other family but he does text them from time to time.

- A bit of a vigilante, he likes to sleep during the day but at night, he likes to go out and enjoy the night life and he stops a robbery here, a mugging there, and makes sure everyone is having a safe good time in general. But he doesn't like the attention so he dips as fast possible.

- Again, rarely speaks other than his 1 sentence per day rule. So he grunts, nods his head, shakes his head, just expresses himself through anyway than not speaking.

- Likes shiny things as well and can't pass a jewelry shop without looking at everything and he's super excited too. Very much saw Yin and Jin and their drip and wanted to be friends but also, they almost ruined Pigsy's noodleshop so they're kinda frenemies.

- His hood on his jacket is very large, he pulls random stuff out of it all the time. Skateboard, computer, phone, no one really knows especially him and he's just accepted that.

- Due to his family issues, he doesn't wear black and kinda dyed the tips of his hair but when he's powered up, then yeah, he takes off his coat and his whole outfit is black because he too is still proud of his family heritage.

- Supportive and protective, he likes Mei because she's not super strict and would used to sneak her out of family reunions to go and hang out somewhere where they can play with bugs and stuff.

- Speaking with bugs, he kinda scares The Silk Prince. He trusts Mei's judgment but Silky kinda is known for deceiving people with his good looks so, yeah, he just makes it clear no funny business with his favorite cousin or else.

- He has ice manipulation powers but he has a tendency to use it for ordinary day stuff too. Like if he has ice cream on a hot summer day?? He uses his powers to make it cold.

- Whenever he sighs, you see some condensed breath like how you do in the winter time. He also will randomly generate a snowball and hit people who are being rude or mean to people he cares about but then look away like he didn't do anything.

Sobbing with tears as I watched the first story of #詩季織々 (Flavours of Youth), a Japanese anime set in China. The first chapter entitled The Rice Noodles tells a story about a boy growing up with his Grandmother and eating rice noodles together in rural China, and as he grows up, time change and he returns to his dying grandmother who apologized that they will not be able to eat noodles together.
