No bc everyone is talking about how technology is getting more and more streamlined away from physical media but no one is talking ab how that’s happening to some assistive devices too??

Like I wear cochlear implants, and I had $50 earphones that were the quality of $5 dollar earphones but they connected to my receivers so they were all i cared about.

Then when I had to get an upgrade, the new receivers didn’t have a port where my earphones could connect to, so I was forced to transition to Bluetooth, or keep using my old receivers until they inevitably broke. Everyone who worked with me acted like I was crazy for wanting to stay with the earphones.

I’m not even sure what my point is but fuck!! Nowhere’s safe!!!
