But I noticed that many of [Felix's] AM endings still emphasize constant battle or even glorify it. I already mentioned the one with Dimitri and the chivalric tales. The one with Dorothea mentions battle and how she wrote operas based on them. With Leonie, it mentions how he utilized her mercenary work frequently and drinks a lot. With Flayn, he serves as the king’s sworn sword but immediately gives it up when Dimitri dies. Implying that he felt obligated to serve that role for Dimitri, but he wasn’t happy with the lifestyle. The ending with Sylvain is the happiest one because it mentions nothing of battle and just how they’d visit each other a lot and die together.

The non-AM paired endings start very rough, but Felix actually ends up with a better lifestyle in the end. I think if he had a truly free choice, he’d prefer to live as a street performer, or baking cakes, or being a sword instructor, or settling down in a farming village. Anything non-violent. The only completely tragic one is Sylvain’s, interestingly. Probably not a coincidence

While I don't hate that Elle got trans friends, I think it would've been better if she had met a trans teacher on that tour. To know that there was someone who knew what she went through and could stand by her side would mean a lot to a teenager who was bullied not just by her classmates but by her teachers too.

Furthermore, it would actually provide a solid difference between Higgs and Lambert - sure, we don't see any other trans kids at Higgs, but we also don't see how being trans affects Elle's experience as a new girl, so it doesn't seem like Elle is known as "the trans girl" at Higgs (which she would realistically, given the relationship between the schools, but it's never given the proper recognition). Meanwhile, we see that the teacher at Higgs, though well-intentioned, doesn't do much to help Elle make friends (it is also up to Elle and her classmates to have some initiative).

Imagine if Elle had been written to have anxiety around people after her bullying, which continued at Higgs, and while at Lambert a teacher had noticed and found a way to help her calm down and chat a bit with the other kids.

(It also would've been nice if we could've seen her talking to anyone other than white people but I think we know Heartstopper ain't that kinda show.)

tbh i think stray kids have defied the concept of "kpop group bias" for me. i don't have a member that "just picked me" – they ALL picked me at the same time.

i love hyune and his flour obsession who reminds me to romanticize the mundane and see art in everything. i love hanji and how passionate he got about painting his nails who taught me i can fully submerge myself in stories other people write/films or music other people create and this way i can channel the impressions i get from them into my own writing. i love felix who came to prefer to be called yongbok who reminds me that i can be never too kind, too compassionate, too soft, too loving – even if people don't treat me in a respectful manner nevertheless being soft-spoken in return is what i want to cultivate in myself.

i love baseball no 1 fan seung who reminds me that sometimes life simply is, things simply happen, there's no need for me to think deeply into events, i can just solve the problem at hand rationally and move on without dramatizing what seems like my misfortune. i love wide pants enthusiast jeongin who makes me embrace my roots and the city i'm living in because there's a sea here and it's so beloved to me, and although the city's quite small i think i actually am starting to like it here after years of feeling like i'm trapped.

i appreciate each of them for being themselves, and different parts in them resonate with different points of myself and my life. seeing them grow not only as artists but also as people brings me so much joy and motivation and inspiration, this feeling is something i can't put into words properly.

sometimes i think it's because stray kids themselves feel like they've merged to become one continuous self, in my mind it's literally 8 or none. if i start talking about one member, my talking point ends up circling back to other members and so on....
