June was in a fluffy robe, provided by the palace. She could practically hear Nora’s plotting to 'accidentally' pack it in her suitcase. Nora sat at a small table, getting a manicure and sipping champagne. The high life suited her, June couldn’t help but smile. ‘I could get used to this. I don't know why you never moved in with Henry here, this is the life.’ Nora’s single brow cocked as she looked at Alex. He was pouting, trying not to get worked up again. ‘Might have something to do with the oppressive system that is the royal family, I guess…’ June pointed out and folded her arms over. The stylists glimpsed at her in surprise before remembering the decorum expected of them. It made June want to laugh.

Ok I’m going to be honest - I don’t read a lot of Nora-centric fics (a crime, I know but I’m consumed by firstprince) BUT I did do some hunting for you and unsurprisingly a lot of it is Norabug fics. 

Hope you find something you like below! Did I go overboard .. maybe? Just a disclaimer - I’ve skimmed some of the fics but haven’t read them in full so do with that as you will :) 

I was also hoping to find some good Alex & Nora friendship fics but turns out it’s pretty hard to search tags for that, so I’ll edit this post in the future to add some as I come across them!

Sorry this took me a literal month to get to Rae! I knew when I got it that I wanted to take it in a different direction than usual, and it finally came together in my head. Turns out the solution was handwriting it, lol

"Oh, what the hell," she says. The sun, finally acquiescing to the coming spring, is pouring through the filmy curtains in their bedroom. Nora would've opted for something more substantial, but June's eyes had lit up when she saw the cream curtains with small embroidered leaves, and, well. Nora has been a sucker for the Diaz eyes since she first met Alex and June.

She rolls onto her side, watching June as she sleeps. She wears two permanent furrows between her eyebrows, a souvenir of the stress of the eight years Ellen was in the White House. She's leaned into her natural curls in the past several years, and now they're tucked up in a lilac bonnet, unlike Nora's hair, which is fanned out in a haphazard mess over her pillow. They've both decided to embrace the gray that's showing up in streaks, despite Alex's teasing.

June must feel Nora watching her, because she shifts and blinks her eyes open. She smiles sleepily, then squints when she tilts her head into the light.

"A moment of regret about the curtains, perhaps?" Nora's teasing, but June shakes her head vehemently anyway, still with here eyes closed. Nora can't help but lean in and kiss her, chuckling softly. June whines when Nora pulls away, so she laughs an leans in for another kiss, letting this one linger.

When she settles back on her side of the bed, June follows, tucking her face into Nora's side. "You alright there babe?" Nora asks.

"Mhm." June nods. "Just enjoying the calm." She slings an arm over Nora's torso. "Let's just stay like this."

Nora lays a kiss on her forehead. "Okay, honey. We can do that."

Week 5: Underwhelmed (1)

June wakes up every morning to Nora’s hair in her mouth. She reads through Alex’s insomnia texts. She makes coffee for herself and Nora. They talk as they get dressed.

June goes to work, an endless pattern of research, draft, edit.

She comes home and either she and Nora will cook or Nora will add a new place to her Epic Take-out Spreadsheet. They’ll watch something cuddled in the living room and then go to bed.

And then it repeats itself the next day, with no galas or press briefings or (inter)national scandals to disrupt the peace.

Fantastically underwhelming.

like, I’ve read all there is on the two pages that show when I block Alex/Henry stuff, so now I’m onto the ones where they boys are tagged too, and it’s a bit like needle/haystack hnngnngnngn.

i know we all poke fun at alex for being incredibly oblivious about june and nora being a thing and i would like to add to that conversation bc alex didn't even fucking blink or even notice when nora called ellen "mom-in-law." like at all. granted, it was after she'd disappeared for like a week and then suddenly had evidence from the richards campaign. but still. did alex think it was leftover from when he and nora dated? (tho tbh i've never seen them as being a couple who was like that.) or like some sort of joke because nora felt like family after the years they spent as being part of the white house trio? even after all the "jokes" nora makes about marrying june? idk man but our boy is oblivious oblivious

Here's another snippet of Norabug from the untitled big-sisters-have-big-feels fic:

‘I can feel you staring, weirdo.’ ‘Just taking it all in.’ Nora’s eyes opened, her eyebrows wiggled. ‘Well I am incredibly sexy so I don't blame you for enjoying the view.’ Nora replied as she rubbed some dry drool off her face. June just laughed, before she planted a kiss on Nora’s forehead.  ‘Good morning cupcake.’ June laced that ’cupcake’ with her Texan drawl. ‘Right back at atcha, pumpkin.’  June curled in further and nuzzled into Nora’s forehead with her own. Nora’s arms lined up with hers, their middles almost touched. Nora’s finger traced over June's cheek and jaw. June let her eyes shut and listened to their collective breathing.

N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)

I wish we had more Norabug content in the RWRB fandom. I love it so much and there's so little of it *sobs*

(i do have an idea here, but none of my ideas have become fic in over a year, so i would be shocked if this one manifested)

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

I headcanon that both Alex and June, but especially Alex, hide their accents to the best of their ability when they're in public. The thing about having a southern accent is that people in the entire rest of the country make fun of you and call you stupid for it. My own uncle made fun of my siblings and I for our accents when we were little. (My mom's family is from D.C. Can you see where I'm going with this?)

Now, June went to college in Texas. Her professors probably didn't assume she was stupid for sounding like she's from Texas. Alex, on the other hand, goes to college in D.C. I know this family that has three kids because I grew up with the daughters, and all three kids went to Georgetown (also in D.C.) and the son, who is the oldest, has talked about how he learned to tone down his accent at college because people assumed he was dumb. I'm sure Alex, with that massive chip on his shoulder and something to prove, did everything in his power to be taken seriously, including, probably, toning down his accent. However, it probably comes out when he's really upset, or when he hangs out with his family and friends from Texas. The thing he says to Hunter about there being racists everywhere? No way was he able to hide his accent for that.

Another wail jerks Nora out of a troubled sleep. She shoves June with one arm, using her other arm to press a pillow over her ears.

“Nora, why,” June mumbles as she swats half-heartedly at Nora.

“It’s your turn.”

“How? I went last time!” she protests.

Nora moves the pillow enough to look at her girlfriend with the most disdainful one-eyed glare she can muster at three in the morning.

“It’s your turn until I say so because you were the one who said yes to babysitting an infant without checking with me. Poppy’s your niece before sunrise, babe.”

“Right.”

i've also resurrected my wesper fake dating au?? that i posted the first chapter of like, a year ago. i'm HOPING that it's faster to finish than some of the others bc most of it is written but honestly i have no clue 😂

and like. i'm still not over arranged marriage au, man, i'm still SO hyped for that!! i'm working through the edits slowly but surely (mostly waiting for mermaidlan/laundrette au to get out of the way)

there is also: kanej yoga au, the second chapter of the wedding fic, zookeeper au (not anywhere NEAR being written yet but i remembered i started it and got jazzed again), dom for hire wylan, a wesper version of the avatar episode where they're stuck in a cave (secret tunnel 🎶🎶🎶) and the return of the pain-share soulmate au. which like. that's not all the WIPs. but they're the ones that spring to mind when i get excited
