A honeymoon in the UK was never what I would have initially imagined, but it was pretty perfect.
The view from our Airbnb was pretty epic, right in the middle of everything so all the best restaurants and coffeeshops were just a small walk away, I wish I'd taken a picture of some of the sunrises I'd sat and watched.
Elm Hill was so beautiful, we managed to catch it on our first morning nice and early so no one was about.
Jarrolds was something Badger had told me about over and over again, honestly I didn't get all the fuss....till I went there. Beats Debenhams any day.
Norwich is basically beautiful. We also couldn't help but check out right move while we were there.
Once in every lifetime... Just like that, my cosplay debut as Vyvyan came crashing into Nor Con! Yes, that is my hair. I dyed it for the art!
I'm so unbelievably overwhelmed with love from people at Nor Con. People coming up to me taking photos, chatting with me, making them smile, laughing over our favourite lines and scenes. Seeing reactions to my costume just really humbled me and it made me a little emotional to hear from my friend that he saw someone looking at me and overheard them saying "that's the most convincing costume here".
I even entered the cosplay competition and... didn't win but it was the taking part that counts! The bar for best costume was set so high and were all so incredible, it gave Vyvyan a run for his money. One of the judges caught me at the end and did say he'd fought to get me in the top 3 for the competition! I'm still proud of me for striding out there, sticking my tongue out at the camera and trying to do what I thought Vyvyan would do best. AND YES WE HAVE A VIDEO!
This is a gem 💎 Amazing story and very unique in the sense that the MC has to take care of a small child but I absolutely love those scenes and interactions! Of course not just that but everything else as well including the lore, setting an the RO’s ♥️
Thank you so much!
The popularity of the child character continues to surprise me, I must say.
Maybe I've been too scarred by escort quests in games, ones where you could swear that the vulnerable character wants to examine every mote of dust regardless of the looming horror coming up behind them.
Anyway, I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying the story, and the characters, and the lore. It's taking a while to build up, but I'm so happy people are getting invested in this world. Speaking of, I was doing research into Eadocaburg for some of A's dialogue in chapter 2 and later chapters of the story when I came across something rather fascinating.
Norwich, which is the city Eadocaburg is based off of, was for most of its history split into 4 wards. Think of them as municipal districts to aid in organisations of taxes, fee farm rents, and other paperwork matters part the city's governance.
After so much searching I finally tracked down a map of these wards produced in 1906 (I think, the book is unclear) by Rev. William Hudson. I love maps, end off, and I'm so happy to add this one to my collection:
And I tracked down the key! Which is so rare it isn't even funny...
Hope that provides some interesting squinting for folks!
