Dorm-inspired Outfits (from my Closet)

A few months ago, I put together a few things from my closet based on the different twst dorms. I posted them to Reddit, but now, they shall also have a home here on Tumblr :) But I'll also add a bit more info on the inspirations behind my use of the various pieces here, just for fun. Also, pardon the socks; I didn't bother picking shoes to go with the outfits. I'll describe what shoes I would wear with each look, though!

Also, uhh... body reveal? Before showing my cosplay (whenever it is that I finish it lol)

Heartslabyul

For this outfit, I wanted to feature the clashing patterns and fabrics of the dorm uniforms, while also incorporating an Alice in Wonderland-esque aesthetic. I used a yellow fabric belt, similar to the yellow sash of the dorm uniform, and added a scarf with a rose pattern and the same colour scheme as the rest of the outfit. I also retained my watch (which I really should have switched out for one of my analogue watches, but... oh well) and my "Save The Bees" bracelet, since it seemed to fit with the theme and I wear it on basically a daily basis, so...

I would pair this look with these white socks and my saddle oxfords.

Savanaclaw

With the Savanaclaw outfit, I wanted an active and somewhat more masc look. I tried to stay true to the warm colour scheme, and reference the leather vest of the dorm uniform using the sleeveless flannel I had. I also kept my watch and bracelet for this outfit, but I added two necklaces - one with a celtic knot pendant, and one with a piece of quartz, though if I had a tooth or bone necklace, I would have used that instead.

I would wear my brown leather boots with this outfit.

Octavinelle

This outfit is one of the closest to how I normally dress. The dress is black with lavender flowers, with a gather in the skirt on the left side, giving the heavy material more movement - it just feels "Octavinelle". I added a braided belt with a silvery buckle to give a little more definition, and a pearlescent pink and purple necklace, along with white gloves. I also wore my cream coat over my shoulders as a coat-cape, à la Azul Ashengrotto.

I would not wear socks with this, but instead stockings and my black and white pumps.

Scarabia

I wanted to follow the colour scheme and ~vibe~ of the dorm and its uniform for this Scarabia-inspired outfit. The floral skirt may seem to be an odd choice, but the deep orange of the flowers and the satin material seemed to fit with Scarabia. I also added more jewellery - multiple rings, and two necklaces, all golden in colour - to complete the look.

I would probably wear either my tan scandals, or white ankle socks and my heeled leather oxfords with this outfit.

Pomefiore

I felt like Pomefiore needed a classic, powerful look - what better way to do that than with a black pencil skirt? That, I paired with a sheer blouse with satin cuffs, and a (mostly) purple, high-necked, sleeveless knit. The orange, cream, and golden stripes in the knit also reflect the gold detailing of the Pomefiore dorm uniform.

I definitely wouldn't wear socks with this - it's another job for the black and white pumps, or maybe even my black heeled boots, depending on the vibe.

Ignihyde

Ignihyde just SCREAMED for the use of my CrankGameplays "Soft Boi" shirt. It's light blue, plus it's gamer merch - the perfect combo. Add in some black jeans, headphones, and a blue and white scarf in the pocket, and Ignihyde is complete!

I'd wear either my pink skate shoes, or maybe my brown leather boots with this one, I think.

Diasomnia

Finally, Diasomnia. I simply needed to use my green turtleneck with this one, but I knew I had to use black for the rest of the outfit. So, black trousers and a black cardigan (again, over the shoulders) were the other components I used, as well as a black braided belt - both to add a little texture, as well as a hint of silver, as is featured in the Diasomnia dorm uniform as well.

I'd wear black socks and my black heeled boots with this outfit.

Romance Anime Starter List

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m sick and tired of seeing “Top ___ Best Anime of All Time” lists that are nothing but shounen. So, with "My Happy Marriage" getting a little attention from the anime community, I wanted to put together a list of some romance anime that I consider good “starters” for the genre. Because if I were just now becoming an anime fan, I’d think all there was to offer was shounen action series.

And by “starters” I mean basic stuff that’s not too…out there, and actually involves the characters getting together instead of just harems or using romance as a side plot (sorry Ouran High School Host Club and My Next Life as a Villainess). 

So if you’re new to anime and want stuff that’s not just guys beating the shit out of each other (which is also fun, don’t get me wrong), here are some basics.

Taisho Maiden Fairy Tale- When the pessimistic Tamahiko Shima loses all function in his right arm, his family sends him away to live in the mountains with the cheerful, hard working Yuzuki Tachibana…who was purchased by the Shima family to pay off her family’s debts and basically act as a caretaker/future bride for Tamahiko so they’d never have to deal with him again. It’s a more cheerful version of My Happy Marriage (without the supernatural stuff), except in this one, the guy is the one who has massive self-esteem issues and an abusive family. There are still very serious themes, but ultimately it’s not meant to make you cry every episode. I swear it’s so good, but nobody watched it!

Horimiya- A slice of life in which pretty and popular high school queen bee Hori, finds out her quiet, unassuming classmate Miyamura is hiding piercings and tattoos that could get him expelled. The two gradually find out more about each other and get together in the most realistic way I’ve seen depicted in an anime. It’s also fucking hysterical and genuinely emotional.

Recovery of an MMO Junkie- Another slice of life that focuses on two adults who meet in an MMO game without realizing they also know each other in real life. I don’t want to say much more than that. It’s adorable, and the main character is so relatable it hurts.

Love with Yamada-kun at Level 999- Speaking of MMOs, this is a newer series about Akane Kinoshita, a college first year who’s reeling from a bad break up. In an attempt to get back at her ex, she winds up meeting Akito Yamada, a popular gamer who happens to be in her guild in the MMO they both play at an IRL meetup. The two go from acquaintances to something more as they keep running into each other. Even more relatable main characters and just wholesome relationships all around.

Snow White With The Red Hair- A fantasy in which an apothecary named Shirayuki (meaning, you guessed it, “snow white”) runs away from her home in order to escape becoming the concubine of her town’s prince. While fleeing, she is rescued by Zen, the prince of a neighboring country, and she ends up becoming an herbalist to repay him. It's super cute with some genuinely swoon worthy moments and a couple that just works so well together. I have a habit of comparing this to Akatsuki no Yona, even though the two aren’t really that alike. This is more romance driven while Akatsuki no Yona is more of a serious historical fantasy with romance elements (Yona manga is amazing, but the anime barely scratches the surface, so that’s why I didn’t include it).

Sasaki to Miyano- When the shy, easily flustered Miyano meets Sasaki, a cool “delinquent” upperclassmen, the two end up bonding over manga…specifically BL manga. That’s right, Miyano is a fudanshi, but due to his small stature and somewhat feminine appearance, he’s constantly trying to convince others that he’s not interested in having his own love story where he’d be reduced to a stereotypical doe-eyed uke. But as Sasaki and Miyano spend more time together, they realize that what they have is more than friendship, and they have to come to terms with their own perception of gay relationships. This is my favorite romance of all time. It’s a slow burn, but boy is it worth it. Their relationship is so natural and realistic, just like Horimiya. Just two people hanging out and bonding over things the way people do in real life!

Given: The story of some boys in a band with trauma. Enough said. It's great. Go watch it.

Bloom Into You- Yuu Koito is a high school girl who’s been waiting her whole life for her own perfect romance to start…but when she receives a confession, she realizes she doesn’t know how to respond when she’s just not into the guy. And then she gets another confession…this time from the cool student council president Touko Nanami, who basically jumpstarts her lesbian awakening. Very cute story about how we perceive the concept of love vs actually feeling it. Also has a canonically aro/ace side character, so that’s a win for me. Another show like this is Adachi to Shimamura (but I honestly don’t remember much about it. It just didn’t stick with me as much).

Ore Monogatari- Takeo Gouda is a tall, bulky high school first year with a sensitive heart of gold. He wants nothing more than to find his own true love, but most girls are intimidated by his enormous stature, and they end up falling for his conventionally attractive friend instead. That is, until he meets the tiny, adorable Rinko Yamato. He falls in love instantly, but he’s sure she’s interested in his best friend like everyone else, so he vows to help get them together, even though his heart is breaking. Peak himbo behavior. Pure of heart, dumb of ass.

Yuri on Ice- Yes it’s the gay figure skating anime everyone knows. And yes it’s a fucking romance, okay? I will die on this hill. The romance between Viktor and Yuri is just as important as the plot!

Kaguya-sama Love Is War- Two insanely smart high school students both have a crush on the other, but since they’re…you know…high schoolers, neither of them wants to admit it first. So they come up with increasingly convoluted plans to get the other to confess first. This will go down as one of the best of all time. It’s a hilarious yet poignant modern classic.

Fruits Basket- I’ve talked about it before and I’ll talk about it again. A romance “comedy” that slowly morphs into a drama about a girl named Tohru who finds herself living with the mysterious Sohma family after her mother dies. Little does she know, the Sohmas are the victims of a  (somewhat silly, but ultimately tragic) curse that she must fight to break. Even though I’m more into it for the family drama, the romance is still top tier and plays an important role in the story. This is my second favorite anime of all time, and it’s a classic for a reason. If anyone hasn’t watched it yet, GO WATCH IT! IT WILL RIP YOU TO SHREDS!

And now for some honorable mentions that didn't quite fit into the regular list:

Ride Your Wave- A movie about a surfer who falls in love with a firefighter……and I’m not going to say any more than that. Go into it blind. If you like stuff like Your Name, this is a good one to watch.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun- A comedy about a high school girl who finds out the upperclassman she has a crush on is actually a shoujo manga artist, and no matter how she tries to confess to him, he just never gets it.

The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague- A slow burn slice of life that focuses on a guy with ice powers who has a crush on his coworker. That’s it. That’s the show. When I say slow, I mean SLOW. It’s perfectly cute and fluffy, but my god does it take forever to get anywhere with these two.

Skip to Loafer- A high strung, small town girl decides to go to high school in Tokyo, where she meets a variety of classmates, including the laid back Sousuke Shima. The unlikely pair become friends, and soon enough, she starts to feel something more than friendship. The only reason I didn’t include it in the main list is because they don’t get together by the end of the first season, but it’s still really cute (also canonically trans character for the win!?)

So that’s my starter list. And no, I didn’t include Toradora, even though it’s a classic. I know it’s blasphemous, but I like it more as a comedy than a romance. It kinda lost me with the ending. But anyway, maybe someone will find something they like. Or maybe you'll just want to roast me and my picks 😅

Sunlight comes creeping in, illuminates our skin We watch the day go by, stories of what we did It made me think of you, it made me think of you

You woke up confused and groggy in your window seat in the private plane that was taking you and a few other members of your team to the next leg of the season. Sunlight peaking from the poorly closed blind on your side, Lewis’ perfume strongly present around and his arms still in the back of your neck as you used his shoulders as pillow.

Everyone around was deep in conversation or working, no one really interested in how you and Lewis always seemed to look and act like a couple, although not really one - yet.

“Morning, sleeping beauty” his soft tone welcomed you, the happiness from the last day still very present in his voice.

“How long have I been out?” You breathed out, cracked and dry throat indicating you had been sleeping for a while

“Almost 5 hours, I think. It’s okay though, we saved you some food” He winked looking down at you still snuggled close to him.

“Urgh, day flights are the worst. They never end!” You dramatically put, yawning through the sentence and trying to reach your phone charging on the table in front of you.

“Specially when you party the whole night through huh?” Toto appeared at the back of your seat, ruffling your hair and giving Lewis’ shoulder a gentle squeeze.

“Please, keep it down, there’s a lot of static up here already” you almost whispered, index fingers squeezing your temple.

“You have no ideia how much noise you made, love” His laugh echoed as he pointed to your phone blipping away

“Please don’t tell me twitter’s blowing up with photos from last night ?!” Your question earning a few laughs from people around.

“None yet, you’re safe for now.” Lewis answered chuckling, loud enough just for you and Toto to hear, while gently guiding you back to your seat by your waist.

“It was nice seeing you have fun, really” Toto sincerely looked at you this time, earning a classic Lewis toothy smile in the process.

“Well, then you should start winning more often again” you pointed to Lewis, fully turning to him and smirking.

“We won that. And this time, hopefully, we’re back to how it was.” He confidently stated, squeezing your waist as you adjusted yourself back to lean on him, contemplating the last 24 hours.

Under a trillion stars, we danced on top of cars Took pictures of the stage, so far from where we are They made me think of you, they made me think of you    

No one believed it when Lewis got to that flag first, not even himself, coming on the radio to ask Bono what pace he needed to keep the gap from Verstappen, even when the fireworks had already gone off at the finish line. You could only remember jumping from your place on the garage and running as far as you could to get to where the cars would be parked, with a screaming team right behind you.

Lewis had never jumped faster from the cockpit, running to the mechanics still with his helmet on and almost making a repeat of 2019 with the barriers as you were making a bee line to get as close as you could. He probably first saw Toto, towering over the sea of people there to cheer him on, and then he found you and gosh were you glowing to him, even if in reality you had dried tear stains down your cheeks and a blush that covered almost your entire face.

He hugged you tightly and if it wasn’t for the reporter waiting for the interview, he wouldn’t have let go. As Toto grabbed on his helmet and congratulated him, you slipped a squeeze to his fingers when he looked back and gave you the full toothy smile that had your heart melting.

That night you dragged everyone from the team to an impromptu small party. There, with people excitedly celebrating one of the most important people of your life in what was also one of the hardest moments of your life, you felt as light and free as you hadn’t in a very long time.

You documented everything, photos left and right of how that one victory got everyone so amazed and pumped, just like in the past, making a mental note to actually share what you could with the millions of fans just as proud as you were of the work the team had done. And while Lewis made sure to talk to everyone, he would always find his way back to you, remaining glued to your hips until the early hours of the Monday you were all supposed to leave.

While dragging you back to your hotel room for a quick shower and breakfast you stopped him in front of the bathroom mirror, looking straight into his eyes, the alcohol left in you just about enough to get you to brave up and let out something you had been hammering in the back of your head since that final flag.

“Gosh, Niki would’ve been so, so proud of that.” He perked up wrapping his arms around you and giving a chaste kiss on your forehead.

“He have always been proud of you babe” His response clicked after a few seconds and made you bubble up.

“I meant…and I know I’m not making the most sense right now. But I meant he would’ve been proud of you, Lewis, just as I am, as Toto is.” You said it looking straight at him just to wonder off to the cold shower leaving him standing there.   

Lights go down, in the moment we're lost and found I just wanna be by your side if these wings could fly For the rest of our lives.

Getting to the next hotel for yet another race week almost felt like home after a few years of doing just that. You had developed a routine of sorts in the past years in the category. Whenever you got to the next country at night, you would go run the jet leg off, have a bath, relax, catch up on important emails and order something to eat.

The past months your routine also had accommodated Lewis’ presence, whether for a talk or to have dinner with, he would always be found around you. Mondays and Tuesdays were for you both to figure things out, no F1 talks you had agreed– a rule that was was tossed aside pretty quickly.

That Monday though, the spirits were still running high, and even after burning off his energy and you trying to relax, you two only wanted each other and the tension was something anyone could cut with a knife.

Yes, you two were joined at the hip for almost the four days of a GP, yes, people were starting to suspect the proximity had more than just friendship involved.

“Hey sorry to bother, I was wondering if you have the commercial numbers the board sent last Wednesday, I wanted to go through them.” You sent Toto a whatsapp voice message, not wanting to bother him with a call but hoping he would see it. Your phone ringing not a moment later.

“So… you two can be quick”

“What are you talking about?”

“Haven’t you two celebrated already?”

“Gez, Toto. He’s not even here and I was trying to catch up on some work”

“Okay. Just please, take care of whatever you two had today, I can’t go through 2 hours of meetings tomorrow with a cranky you.”

“I do not get cranky over that”

“Yes, you do. May I remind you of those months before you two…”

“No, you don’t need to remind me of anything, I got it, bye and please send the reports.” You hung up not even waiting to hear his response, but not fast enough to not hear his laughter on the other end.

When Lewis finally showed up, he followed your trails on the suite until he laid his eyes on you sitting on the sofa, papers scarred around and a computer on your leg. Your flushed cheeks as you took his flustered features in, revealing you were as eager for him as he had been since he got out of his car on Sunday.

“I swear, next time I’m not leaving for any party until I celebrate with you.” He almost whispered as he led you away from the mess and towards the bed. His strong scent engulfing you as he pulled you close and studied your features just millimeters away from his face.

“I would very much like that” You agreed, breaking the tension with a clash of lips, hands already all over his abdomen and biceps, grounding yourself in whatever skin you could find.

Later that night you woke up to an empty bed and a shadowy figure on the window, looking out at the sky. He only had his boxers on, braids out and a dreamy expression on the features you could see lightened by the moon.

“Penny for your thoughts” You sleepily murmured in his shoulders, leaving a kiss there and hugging him from behind, feeling his tensioned muscles relax as he took you in and turned you into his arms.

“Did I wake you?” He looked concerned as he asked and kissed your temple

“Felt your absence” You snuggled closer to him, bathing in his warmth

“I don’t think I’ve ever felt anything like Sunday. It’s been so long and everyone’s worked so hard for that” He let it out after a while, looking out into the city above as you watched him closely, holding him tighter – if that was even possible.

He let you led him back to bed, under the silky duvet he pulled you onto his chest, fingers massaging your scalp while you traced rounds shapes in his chest. You felt the vulnerability in his actions mirroring your own. 

“Niki once told me there’d be one race that I’d remember in horrific details. I always thought that was Brazil 21’, but it doesn’t even come close to what these past 3 days have been.” You broke the silence, looking up at him and finding his eyes fondly looking back at you.

“To be honest, all I remember is that there was only one person I wanted to celebrate that victory with” He grinned before saying, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear

“I love you, Lewis.” You softly said it, not for the first time ever though, but surely the first time you felt it so strongly and liberating   

“I know I’ve been dodging each and every feeling I have for you. But I don’t want to do it anymore, I want to scream to the world that I love you, and I want you to know that I’ve been in love with you for a while now.”

It disrespected TFP on every level and for that it has my eternal hatred and contempt. The humans were annoying, and I HATED how many interesting plot threads there were that were either done poorly or with so little tact that the writing team should have just scrapped it. The designs are tolerable, but I hate how canon TFP characters lost so much of their individuality in their designs (coughtheopticscough). Smokescreen is fricking GONE, which bothers me more than I care to admit. We see the rest of the team enough to be reasonable, but they all appear in ways that don't really make me happy.

Ratchet was done well enough in my opinion. I like his RID design. It suites him. Optimus's design can go die in a hole, they brutalized that mech. Same with Jazz. Frag those stupid shoulder pads.

Grimlock is fun, I appreciate Sideswipe, although his helm hair thingies I think need a redesign to make sense in relation to his alt mode. Strongarm was HORRIBLY underutilized and I hardly saw any character growth in her. Drift and his crew were interesting, but similarly not given much room to grow. I really liked Windblade for the most part, especially the episode where she tries to baby Optimus and comes out having relearned that Op is still a PRIME with MILLIONS OF YEARS OF WAR EXPERIENCE.

The Primes who've done nothing but sit on their rears had NO RIGHT to belittle Optimus at every turn. Nor did the show have the right to make him an idiot for the sake of making Bee look smarter. As @nova--spark has pointed out, the personality Bee got in the show matches Smokescreen better. Bumblebee wouldn't have SUCKED so much at the whole leadership shtick. What happened to all that skill shown in the movie huh? HUH WRITING TEAM????!??!?!

While I am on this train. OPTIMUS DIED SO GOSH DARN LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! He should have stayed deceased, or if they REALLY needed him back, he should have either returned as an Civi or came back with actual issues. Like dang hear me out mate.

Optimus is forcefully returned to life, beats the Fallen with his borrowed power, but then has to actually deal with the consequences of essentially being a walking bomb for a while. Make him start losing plating, make his frame HURT, make him slim down again into the TFP base design. Just, give him a reason to have to sit back and RECOVER. Not this whole half hearted limping around garbage. To add to that, don't baby the mech. Let him stay at base and fulfill the role Ratchet did in TFP. Let him use his knowledge to teach and offer wisdom, plan battles and locate enemies. For Primus's sake he could have gone undercover on Cybertron or something if they really needed him to go be useless elsewhere.

THEY COULD HAVE EVEN HAD AN ARC WITH HIM GIVING THE TEAM A WAKEUP CALL!!! SIdeswipe has no respect for the mission, Grimlock is a fool, Strongarm is too snarky, and Bee in this seems to have largely forgotten about the seriousness except for during key moments. They could have made Optimus a minor antagonist, forcing the team to follow wartime standards since they laid down this plot thread regarding issues between leadership styles and Optimus trying to take control of the operation more than once.

I would have paid money to see Optimus's wartime mentality show itself in the best and worst ways through how he worked with this group of non war vets on a Decepticon capture mission. Maybe even have him use lethal force once or twice, or at least hint at it so that people can be reminded that he is a mech who went to war, killed countless bots, and both drove their people to and saved their people from extinction.

Bee could have had to teach Optimus to calm down. He could have helped eased his leader out of his wartime mindset. Or following that whole council running Cybertron route, Optimus could have had his moment of being very much right when he points out WHY he fought at all and gestures towards the new council. There was SO MUCH potential in this show, so many good threads and interesting Decepticon character that could have given so much depth to the war and the aligned continuity as a whole, but they were almost ALL ignored.

Alright, sorry about that. I have big feelings in regards to how dirty Optimus was done. Moving on, the Predacons were killed off supposedly and that pisses me off ESPECIALLY because it was done in a fricking offscreen setting. What the hell happened to Predaking??? WHERE DID HE GO????

Starscream's design was rad though, not going to lie.

Where is Shockwave? No seriously where is that fragger? After several years of the map he MUST have an army growing in a tank somewhere.

Soundwave. Why. ARe. YOU. HERE??!?!?!? I love you man but dang you are so out of place. He made sense in the context of trying to get to Megatron, but idk he felt like he deserved better. He should have been the big brain behind the Cons on Earth if you asked me. It would have made everything far more intense, especially if the Cons dont follow Decepticon creed as seen by Soundwave.

The humans were annoying. Sorry they just were.

Fixit is Primus's gift to RID and he's one of the few individuals who makes it less annoying. Idk, I just like him in reasonable doses.

To put things simply, I would rather a group of fanfic writers put RID together than whoever the writing team was. They could have made a coherent story with deep characters that actually address the ramifications of millions of years of war and lingering functionalist mindsets. They would have done the lore and the world justice even if there were no main characters popping up.

I think RID has so much potential, but that almost all of it went right down the toilet due to either the higher ups sticking their noses where they don't belong or because the writing team couldn't go two minutes without retconning or otherwise destroying established everything.

I just remembered that one part of season 7 where May hugs Daisy

And it makes me so happy. It would have been easy to have May’s empathic ability without consequences— she can direct it where she wants and use it as a superpower. Instead they handled it like they handled inhumans in season 3; she can’t turn off her ability and sometimes it has side effects she doesn’t want. She can read everyone, like her own family, all those scientists in 7x05, and everyone in the bar in the 70’s. That’s something AoS does very well— giving us consequences for superpowers. They are not without practical side effects, and they are sometimes devastating. Daisy’s abilities break her bones if she’s not careful. May gets overwhelmed with everyone else’s feelings (which, how interesting when that’s something she’s struggled with even before the powers. Manifesting characters’ existing struggles in their abilities is very cool). It’s the kind of thing you mostly see in fan speculation, but not as much in canon.

All this to say I’m glad we got to see May’s empathic ability in relation to the team. We don’t just see it when it’s necessary for the plot, it’s consistent throughout.

And all THAT to say, how wonderful that May gets to read Daisy. A lot of their relationship is told in subtext throughout the seasons. Giving May an empathic ability gives May and Daisy the opportunity to tear through those layers of fear and just let them love each other (as MOTHER-DAUGHTER, Bee). It was really nice to see May get to literally experience how much Daisy loves her. Can you imagine if season 1 May could see that?

Azriel slid Rosalie’s plate back in front of her after cutting her roasted chicken up into more manageable bites.

“Thanks, Daddy!” she announced, spearing a piece of meat and popping it into her mouth.

He leaned down, kissing the top of her head.

“How is training going?” Elain asked her elder sister.

They were having their weekly family dinner at Rhys and Feyre’s manor. Since they all started having children, the sisters pushed to keep up these traditions so the cousins could grow up together. Or at least they tried to as much as possible. Occasionally, one group wouldn’t be able to make it, like when Amren and Varian were in Summer, or Cassian took his lot to the Illyrian Steppes. But, for the most part, they all showed up for this set-aside, few hours to reconnect as a family.

And it worked. Kaden and Nyx were as thick as thieves, and Rosalie and her younger cousin Sutton were already the best of friends. He loved seeing their children together. It reminded him much of his childhood with his brothers. The bond formed through centuries that could never be broken.

Tested, yes.

Part 2

Third person pov:

The next morning Y/N was still asleep when her Mom Y/F/N came to wake her up " Y/N, c'mon its time to wake up sweetheart, I have made your favourite today, french toast and maple syrup. let's go downstairs yours Dad is waiting for you". Y/N wakes up and goes to her bathroom. After freshening up she goes downstairs to join her parents for breakfast.

She started eating when her Dad Y/M/N asked her "How was the party yesterday, didn't had any problems right". Y/N shook her head and said "Yes dad it was good and No we didn't had any problem" her mom came back from the kitchen and asked her "So how was Nick, is he okay?" Y/N didn't want to say what really happened so she said "Maybe, he didn't talked much just said that he will have a hard time adjusting to everything".

Her parents smiled sympathetically and her mom said "Tell him that he is always welcome here, its also his home he can come here whenever he wants". Y/N just nodded her head and they continued eating. Y/N parents had known Nick's parents since college, so both the families were very close. Her parents has always been easy going and she always had thought of them as her friends, she would tell them everything and due to that they also know about her love for Nick. They think that if both of them are happy then they are okay with whatever relation they have between each other.

After finishing breakfast Y/N said "Mom I'm going to get ready and go to Nick's house". Her mom gave her a nod and she goes to her room to get ready. After getting ready she goes to her car and started driving, when she reached Nick's house she saw a car was already parked there, knowing who have already arrived there she goes inside. When she enter, she saw two females with William, Nick's father. William's back was turned towards her so she debated going towards them but when he saw her and called her over she had no choice.

When she reached near them, he introduced her to both the females "Y/N meet Rafaella my wife and Noah her daughter and she is Y/N my son's best friend, basically she is like my daughter". Y/N smiled politely and greeted them "Hey its nice to meet you guys, I have heard so much about you guys from my parents I was dying to meet you both". William smiled at her enthusiasm, he always liked her polite and kind nature for everyone. From the corner of her eyes she saw Nick coming downstairs, she turned towards him with a beaming smile and greeted him "Good morning Boo, hope you had your breakfast properly today". Y/N knows if she doesn't take care of him then he would never pay attention to himself, especially now.

Nick was having a bad start since the morning, starting from his bad headache to his rude awakening in the morning from the alarm clock and meeting his dad's new family. He was just waiting for Y/N to come just so they can leave here, so when he heard her voice he runs out of his room to go downstairs. when he looked at her and her beaming smile for him he relaxed. He knew that just by looking at her, he will be okay and said "Good morning to you too Bee, and yes I ate the breakfast I know you told them to make for me". Y/N just smiled and hugged him when he came closer.

"C'mon let's go, we can't keep Jenna and Mario wait any longer they both are blowing up my phone" Y/N said and they both laughed. William looked at his son when he laughed and smiled to himself, he knows that after his late wife's death they both have been drifted apart but he is thankful to Y/N and her parents. Whenever she would be around Nicholas, he would laugh or would have small smile in his face. William is happy that there are people for Nick when he needed someone. As Y/N and Nick started to leave, William walked them to the door and watched until their car disappear and he return inside.

In the car soft music was playing and Y/N was sitting at the passenger sit while Nick was driving. She was looking outside when she felt his eyes on her turned herself to face him, with one eyebrow raised she asked " what is it?? is something on my face?" Nick laughed and said "No, no Bee there is nothing on your face", "what is it then" Y/N asked. They reached the cafe they were to meet their friends and Nick parked the car and turned to looked at her.

"Its just.. I.. feel very lucky to have you by my side, you always make my day better and I just wanted you to know that" Nick said, Y/N smiled at him and gently brushed his hair and said "you don't have to tell me all this Nick I know how much you appreciate me, you don't have to tell me all the time, okay" Nick nodded his head and smiled at her. Y/N shook her head, a smile still attached to her face and said " c'mon, let's go and meet them" and they both gets out of the car goes inside the cafe.

I've basically tried to come up with lore and stuff. If you can't read what's on the images, don't worry, I'll expand more on my thoughts here:

White Lily Cookie

Before I talk about her, here's some random changeling lore I made up. Woodland changelings are the ones who feed on the love of other creatures by draining it from them. Basically the more hostile, fae-esque creatures. Prismatic changelings are those who don't drain love from others, but instead feed on love through mutual sharing with one another. My goal with them is to make them sorta like faeries. Yanno, the baby snatcher ones vs the nice disney-esque ones. They can transform into either one if say, they're able to form a strong bond with someone else or if they lack a strong connection and have no one to share love with.

Btw, this isn't related to mlp canon, it's just something I made up.

So anyway, White Lily was a young woodland changeling who, while she didn't (often) drain love from other people, she was still pretty lonely and ostrisized by her peers (probably due to her lily scent). She transforms into a prismatic changeling after making a strong bond with Pure Vanilla, who declared how he'll always care for her, changeling (either form) or not.

Ngl, I'm not that happy with her woodland form, mainly because it just feels less changeling-like. I based her off Queen Chrysalis, but still, the only reason I have for this, is that, she's like a queen bee. She's just born that way. She just never took the throne like the rest of her friends.

In her younger years, White Lily often transformed into a pony disguise (even after meeting PV and leaving the academy) because she still felt like it was necessary. Girl was bullied in her tweens, leave her be. (Also, by now, she's become a prismatic changeling.) Eventually, she did drop her disguise, and was relieved to know the other 3 didn't hate her. Dark Cacao even commented about how he prefers her true form.

Her soul-jam form is basically her just becoming more queen bee like, (similar to how Queen Chrysalis was bigger and taller compared to the rest of the hive. She's the queen!)

Pure Vanilla Cookie

Not much to say other than he was a unicorn who became an alicorn as the years passed and he gained his soul jam.

I dunno if I wanted his magic to be blue or yellow. I think I prefer yellow, but his soul jam is blue, and I wanted it to sorta match. Hmm.

He also has terrible eyesight, and relies on his staff to see. However, the drawside to this is that what the staff sees, is what he sees. And boy, his staff can be a bit sassy sometimes, rolling its eye and glancing down at him to judge him at times. It was especially so in his younger years. But he's comfortable with or without the staff's sight. I should mention, he does get to decide if he wants to see what his staff sees or not.

Btw, if this take is seen as ablelist in any shape or way, please let me know, and I will correct it if it is. The whole 'staff sees for PV' is a popular headcanon which I just roll with, but if it makes people uncomfortable, I understand and will revise it.

Hollyberry Cookie

Not much to say other than she was an earth pony who gained wings, magic, and super strength.

Compared to the others, she rarely ever uses her magic/wings unless absolutely needed to. It just feels quite off for her, yanno? Though, she does take advantage of her enhanced strength, agility, and stamina.

Out of everyone, she took the longest to figure out how to fly, not because she was scared, but because it felt very off to control these brand new appendages that just appear on your back whenever you use the souljam's magic to the fullest.

Her design is the most straight-forward out of everyone tbh.

Dark Cacao Cookie

He's a kirin, which are basically dragon-like ponies, and I headcanon him to be part dragon, so it works out.

For his Nirik form, I drew inspiration for how berserk Cacao looked, all whispy and spirit-like.

I was debating on whether or not I wanted to give him wings, but in the end, I realized that it would make his design feel too cluttered. So instead, I drew inspiration from east asian dragons, and how they don't need wings to fly. Dark Cacao can summon clouds and gallop across the winds instead, which I think looks really cool.

Kirin's are depicted with this lion's mane, but I didn't feel like it would fit Cacao, mainly because he's got a lot going on at this point (the armor, for one) and idk, I just couldn't fit it, unless I redesign his entire wardrobe, which I don't want to do.

About the White Lily thing I mentioned earlier, I said how Cacao prefers seeing Lily as a changeling, rather than in a disguise, because (at the time) he thought he was the only non-pony creature on the team, and it was reassuring to him that he wasn't the odd one out. Golden Cheese was the last one to officially join the band.

Golden Cheese Cookie

Head of a pony, body of a lion, wings like a hawk's. Yep, she's a sphinx.

I know she looks more cat-like here, but idk, I just really liked it, so I stuck with it.

Out of everyone, she was the one who had the most trouble with magic, mainly because she's kinda the most scatterbrained. But once she got the hang of it, she really liked using it.

Can I just say, she's definitely the most elegant looking one out of the bunch, and I'm glad that I was able to translate it well. (Or at least, I think I was.)

ik it just came out and was only recently finished (like, finished Sept 2023 lol) so this is probably bias speaking but i am extremely taken by She Who Became the Sun and He Who Drowned the World, these books are fckn phenomenal. the gender-fuckery, the exploration of gender and sexual performances, the hidden message of embracing ourselves in all our ugliness and 'deficiency' and making a place for ourselves and ppl like us when others shun us. these books are just!!!

documentaries: immortal egypt (Joanne Fletcher)

i really really love documentaries and this mini series hold a special place in my heart bcs i love history and I've always been fascinated by egypt and Joanne's enthusiasm is just so joyous and infectious, i love it. i put this on repeat in the background when i was doing my graduation project in 2018 lol yea, just me listening to egyptian docu while working my ass off on AutoCAD lol

anime: sarusuberi/miss hokusai

idk how to explain but there's just a quality to this animated film that got me going... like, i adore howl's moving castle but miss hokusai is sth else. it's so peaceful but also deeply profound and visceral somehow.

tv series: aircrash investigation

i love planes, i love the Concorde in particular, but it has nth to do with how cool planes are but with how child-me saw riding planes as a thing that only ppl with money could do. it evolved from there.

i also love mysteries and aircrash investigation is both lol

i remember watching it on tv when i was an adolescent and i was fascinated with the mystery and problem-solving of it all ever since.

movie: the prince of egypt

it's a story about love; love that forgives, love that creates hate, love that divides.

drama: nirvana in fire (c-drama), beyond evil (k-drama), kluen cheewit (thai soap opera)

bl-specific: old fashion cupcake (anime AND manga)

the plot of these dramas is impeccable (tho kluen cheewit is extremely dramatic so pls beware lol), the character developments are fckn amazing, and what's even more important is the platonic relationships between the characters!!!

also, special shout-out to thai bl soap opera khun chai/to sir (with love) as well! the drama is off the charts, the characters are flawed & human & infinitely relatable & Tian & Yang's brotherhood is EVERYTHING

just one of the best bls out there and I've consumed A LOT of BLs/yaois... ALL SORT of em lol

the story is really grounded in reality, the plot is so mundane and relatable, the characters are mature but extremely flawed, and the art (in the case of manga) and the acting (in the case of the series) are amazing.

i DO NOT agree with the lyrics AT ALL but i adore the melody. i absolutely love, love, LOVE how he blends traditional khmer music with the modern one. it's not a necessarily modern take but it's sth different. this artist is very good at blending the old w/ the new and i applaud him for that. his music is so pleasing the ear but the fkcn lyrics... urGH

Why in Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel Stolitz seems to be the ONLY relationship with power imbalance that is not faring well?

Ozzie and Fizz - We don't even know if they have a romantic relationship, but they just work. They even can communicate with glances and both feel secure with their respective positions while openly showing they at least respect and at some point care for each other.

Charlie and Vaggie - The girls are very loving towards each other, Vaggie does her best wanting to support and protect her girlfriend and Charlie does her best to listen to Vaggie (even though she not always seems to do so) and let her feel she appreciates her.

And now Bee and Tex - They seem to be open with and trust each other, both being able to communicate properly when needed as they share interest in both partying and making sure the ones around them are ok.

Literally the only unbalanced relationship that that is as bad (in this case worst) than Stolitz are Valentino and Angel Dust, which doesn't count since we know they don't care for each other, it's just sex business. But like.... bruh.

Okay I'm skipping a few asks but I just want to get this done. I have seen this take go around since Queen Bee came out so I guess now is the time I give my two cents on it. In my humble opionion the short answer is trauma but long answer. Well let me cover all the other relationships you mention and tell you that it's far from a one to one comparison.

Bee and Tex, and Asmodeus and Fizz have the same very big thing to consider. That one is literally one of THE deadly sins, only Lucifer could rival there power and that's up for debate. Either way pratically noone can tell these guys what to do, who to date or how to feel. That is not a luxury Stolas and Blitz have. They have never had any protection from the system that is harmful to both of them, while Bee and Ozz are pratically above that system, and thus can protect their partners from it.

Charlie and Vaggie are a bit closer despite Charlie also being above the Goetias. But the one difference lies mainly in Charlie (We don't know much about Vaggie, sorry queen) Charlie, has left her toxic home life, she is still scarred from it, we know she is but she has left it and she is healing and trying her best. There aren't really any pressures weighing on them aside from the Hotel which is something they do together. Any problems they face are external to their relationship, not internal.

Stolas and Blitz on the other hand, man these two are pratically being crushed by the pressure on them.

Stolas is literally going through a divorce out of an abusive relationship while wanting to keep his daughter happy, AND fix his situation with Blitz which he was trying to do before, you know he was fucking kidnapped. So he's going through a divorce that is actively getting held back by the other side, managing parenting a child during that while also trying to fix his mistakes. Not to mention the truckload of trauma he must have from both Paimon and Stella.

Also let's be honest, noone fucking taught him how to manage a ACTUAL romantic relationship. He's like 36 and was locked in aforementioned abusive marriage for most of that. He's learning, and that's messy more often then not. Some first real partners are able to teach you and help you well enough, but Blitz has his own baggage, and he doesn't even recognize the relationship as anything other then sexual so he doesn't see the need even.

Blitz has, so many problems emotionally but also just, he doesn't recognize what he and Stolas have as a relationship. You cannot work on something you do not know is there after all. He has had awful expirience with love making him very closed off and filled with unhealthy coping mechanisms. Not to mention all the buisness that just, isn't related to Stolas.

You can have a lot going on but still have a relationship, but again, Blitz doesn't see it as one. He gets the book, that is all that he agknowledges that matters so far. Cause admitting that Stolas matters to him, that he wants him, that he wants to have a loving relationship with him specifically. Is terrifying to him.

Honestly I get the comparison on a surface level. Royal and lower class demon, I get the concept. But these are VERY different characters at the end of the day, so they are going to have different problems.

Blitz has had too many bad relationships, while Stolas has had none good, so these traumas and traits clash. I still ship them wholeheartedly, don't get me wrong but what I mean to say is that with the surrounding circumstances, there past experiences, these problems honestly make a lot of sense if you think about it specifically.

I Ship all these ships mind you, just throwing in my two cents as previously mentioned.

I LOVE that new addition of the Dead Disco AU where the guys left UGH

My mind is running at 300 kph and OH GOD the thought of Darling getting a new partner is making me want to cry 😭😭😭

But also I've been thinking about Darling and her new partner for this AU

I don't know if it's self projection because (again) Darling is very relatable to me, and because of that, she gives off the vibe that despite all the sadness, when she's in a better mental space she's so gentle and kind to people, always wants to look the good in the world and believes there's always deeper motivations behind everyone else's actions... Which has lead her to multiple shitty situations, where people often abused her kind nature and her vulnerability. A few shitty friends who criticized her every action and that she found out way too late, partners who constantly crossed boundaries and never knew how to keep their shitty opinions to themselves.

And she thought she finally found the loves of her life, who made her feel loved and wanted and tried to be as healthy as they all could. Up until the day Simon and Johnny broke up with her

And then when they come back and try to be in Bee's life, she decides that she's the one deciding who's getting into her heart and who's not.

Except that with her new partner, she's once again ignoring warning signs and, the new partner is not violent per se, but they're negligent. They don't really know Darling all that well and sure, they want to try to get to know her to some extent, but they also don't care that much for Darling's interests that much tbh

So let's say. Bee is a year and a half old, and Darling's been with her new partner for a little over eight months now, and for any reason, Simon and Johnny came to her apartment while they were having a date night to leave Bee after spending the day with her.

What greets them at the door is their beautiful, lovely Darling that they still love very much, but have now accepted that you're not coming back to them and they'll try to support you and be in your life in any way you let them. But your eyes are puffy and red, your voice sounds broken, like you've been crying your eyes out.

No one mentions it. But you still let them into your home to maybe discuss Bee's new tendencies to bite into people. The glimpse of the dynamic of you and your partner is not good. Johnny and Simon can't believe that while you're ranting about whatever you love (be it gaming or art or literature or possums), your partner not only is on their phone completely ignoring you, giving noncommittal replies, but also they're fucking liking pics of models on whatever social media they have (they don't know that, but that is feeding onto your insecurities SO MUCH). They notice the way your eyes look glossy once more, how your lip trembles and how you try not to let your voice show that you're about to cry.

Simon feels more sad than anything, wanting to erase that sadness out of you and treat you the way he knows you deserve to be treated. Wanting to hold you between him and Johnny and never let go. But Johnny? He on the other hand is livid. His anger turned into acceptance over your permanent departure out of his life, but what he CANNOT accept is the way you're being treated, as if you were less than furniture and your feelings were something on the way of whatever comfort your partner wanted out of you. He gathered all of his willpower to stay put and not knock some sense into your new partner, choosing to find a few minutes later a quiet moment with you on the kitchen.

"Is he really treating you good?"

You hesitate to answer, but reply a quiet, solitary "Yes."

"And are you really happy?"

Your silence says more.

And they're both determined. If they can't have you back at least they can have your back, in whatever way they can without crossing the boundaries you put in place, advice from Laswell still echoing on their minds ("You should give that girl some space and help from the sidelines," it's what she basically stated).

And it works its objective, at least. They remember a fleeing conversation here and there and bring you details about your interest in question (be it a new gaming controller, new art supplies, a book you've been wanting to buy). And they're somewhat making peace with the fact that this is all they're going to be in YOUR life, besides Bee's dads.

That is, until Bee's a few months over two years old and they bring Bee back to you, not a sight of your new partner inside your home.

"What happened to him?" And they try not to sound hopeful, just a little bit.

"We broke up," you say. "We broke up, and I think we three need to have a conversation once Bee is asleep."

You’re totally right. It’s canon in my mind that Darling (you) is kind hearted. Not naive but sweet, somewhat gentle, and sees the better side of others. It does leave you in precarious situations (or has in the past at least) but you’re adaptable, and when you and the guys were good, they built a fortress around you, to protect you. However, it can leave you open, and vulnerable.

And like, it’s not like Darling has the highest self esteem, right? You’re constantly down on yourself, berating yourself in your own mind about how you should be better, be better at taking care of yourself, be better at being a mum, be better at being a partner. Maybe… if you were better, the guys would have never left in the first place. Maybe, if you were better, this one won’t leave either.

And that kind of thinking, allows you to settle for someone who doesn’t really see you. Who doesn’t really care to know you all that well. Who doesn’t really get you, or want to.

But maybe you can’t see that. Maybe, you just see someone who you like, who likes you. Who makes you feel better than you’ve been feeling.

So you can’t see through it.
