hey!! can i get a matchup? :-) (preferably not chromeskull or asa emory, i haven't watched their stuff fully yet-)

im 5'6" with dyed red hair fading into black! i have a wolfcut haircut, and my hair is naturally curly and fluffy (3a hair.) im latina, from colombia and i love talking about my culture. i have an olive skin tone.

astrology wise im a cancer sun, virgo moon and sagittarius rising. i actually study witchcraft as im a pagan witch, so im really into giving my friends and stuff spell jars, crystals, etc. im also kinda like a scavenger, when i find random things like a nice rock or sum i will give it as a little gift.

im a big horror movie fan, as i grew up on the horror genre. i also love superheroes and villains stuff so i naturally have a love for both marvel and dc equally. im very talkative about my interests and i love explaining lore and stuff abt them lol.

some shows i like are old black and white shows like the andy griffin show or the munsters, but i also like stuff like stranger things and the haunting of bly manor.

as for horror movies i lean towards slasher movies and psychological horror.

im not squeamish at all, gore doesn't bother me much and id be happy to clean up someone's wounds or clean blood/etc. im actually kinda into health science and medical things, so ik a bit or two about the human body.

im an artist,, traditional and digital. i love drawing other people i know or fanart. i also like creating stories and explaining to ppl about them. im kinda getting into photography, or at least i am in recent times. i like interior decorating and buying stuff to fill up my room especially, but my whole house also. i love collecting figurines like funkopops, and i like filling my walls up with posters and paintings/prints. i also like video games.

personality wise, id say im a pretty laid-back person, i don't judge. you can literally tell me abt the gross TMI stuff you've experienced. im quite talkative if someone will allow me to tell them about stuff but if they want some silence at times, I'm okay with that too :-) i can be pretty goofy but i know when to be serious.

i love the mountains alot and forests and whatnot. although it's nice to take walks outside in said forests sometimes (and i love picnics), im mostly a homebody and i like spending most of my time inside.

some randoms things are that i like cooking and trying out new recipes. i really like tea and have a cabinet of tea packets and sets. i have 2 pet rats, but i also really want a cat (one that'll accept the rats ofc.) my favorite animal is a hyena. i like people watching and also watching other people draw or make/fix something. im queer. i love plushies and collecting little things. i have a 90s grunge style, but sometimes i also go retro.

I think Jason would be super curious about anything you can tell him about Colombian culture. The only time he got out of crystal lake was to go to Manhattan (which wasn't even a pleasant trip for him) so learning about new places he hasn't seen is always fun.

Everytime my grandma goes to colombia to visit relatives there she show us all the new parks and natural places there you can visit and THEY ARE SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. JASON WOULD LOVE TO LIVE IN A PLACE SO COLOURFUL SO FULL OF GREEN ZONES LIKE COLOMBIA.

He would also love the fact that there are so many resources to keep the environment clean and preserve not only the animals but overall nature too. (I've seen all the things they have to motive people to recycle and not littering, all the volunteers groups to clean cities and plant new things, every thing they have to teach the youth to more about nature and how to keep it safe ecc. And the all the establishments to protect endangered animal species ecc? Loving it)

HE'S LIKE A PLANT MOM SO HE WOULD ADORE ALL THE AMAZING FLOWERS YOU CAN FIND THERE.

Please make him some traditional dishes like empanadas, buñuelos, bandeja paisa, arepas etc. He would literally go crazy with all that tasty food. Even if doesn't really need to eat since yeah he's a zombie he would love to try some new things. The last time someone cooked a warm meal for him was when his mom was still alive, from there he had to eat the most atrocious things cause 1 he doesn't really like eating alone 2 he doesn't have the motivation to cook because it's hard for him to take care of himself and 3 he overall just doesn't have time for that

He would be so clueless about the whole witchcraft thing but as soon as you explain it to him he would actually like to spend time watching what you do ecc and he will treasure every crystal you give him. Not only because they're pretty (yes Jason likes pretty things), not only because it's something from you either but because you told him the purpose of it too. Everytime he needs to go slash some campers he would put in his pocket a crystal for protection or if he feels particularly stressed he would use the one that helps with that. Maybe you could make him a bracelet with those crystals so he can carry them more easily 👀

To resume, any gift from you and anything you do for him is always going to be the best thing ever in Jason's eyes. He will repay by doing the same and bringing you any flower, rock ecc that he thinks it's pretty.

You absolutely have to do a marvel marathon with Jason, he needs to catch up with all these things ASAP. He would try to watch everything you like and learn about it so you can have someone to talk with about it. He would eventually become a fan himself and would absolutely love to talk about your favourite characters ecc

Those old shows are like a comfort thing for him cause they remind him of his mom, so having someone to watch them with again is going to make him so happy

Please, help this man when he gets hurt. Even if he doesn't feel anything it must be so dehumanising the whole zombie situation. You patching him up and helping him would make him feel like a real person again and it would warm up his dead heart :(. Like he feels like such a monster and you treating him as if he was still alive is really therapeutic

Every piece of art you make is hanging on the walls, no questions about it. And if you do draw him? He would actually burst into tears of joy. Babe imagine how many juicy candid photos of him you could take 👀👹 of him strolling through the woods ecc

Please take charge of decorating this man cabin cause its bland AS FUCK. he would take it as you finally feeling at home with him there so don't worry about the possibility of that bothering Jason. He would actually enjoy helping you assemble the furniture or helping moving stuff ecc

Please talk with him about anything you want to, he would never get bored of it and he'll be actually listening to every single word. He will remember everything you told him

Have you seen where this mountain of a man lives? You would have not only all the nature you want but a really prepared guide who can show you and tell you everything you want to know about the woods and its fauna. Even better that you liked to spend time at home cause that would take so much stress off Jason, he doesn't want you to get hurt or anything.

imma complain more about gringos, what bothers me most is that gringos come latin/hispanic spaces (yes this film is for everyone but more specifically columbians/latinos) and they have several latinos explain to them why their comments are ignorant. and we’re being genuinely helpful in my opinion, and they are rude to us claiming we don’t know what we’re talking about. y’all ignorant gringos need to shut up and listen if you want to come into our spaces. and a reminder gringos are anyone who isn’t latino/hispanic, doesn’t matter what your race is. you listen to latinos if you’re being ignorant about our cultures and people.

i’m just sick of gently explaining to gringos that they are being ignorant about the diversity in encanto and then just getting rude comments back, i had one gringo tell me that they didn’t need my opinion cause they’ve already changed their mind when they claimed the madrigal family didn’t look like a family in their opinion. it was so rude. you listen to us when you’re in our spaces and we’ll listen to you when we’re in your spaces. it’s a two way street. shut up and listen, in fact thank us when we’re gentle when you’re so blatantly ignorant.

a nicaraguan… yeah i’m so tired of gringos sharing their opinions on it. y’all don’t share your opinions on it. representation for every latino matters and original concepts change that’s why they’re called original. pepa is great rep regardless, everyone is great rep in the movie because of the variety.

Yeah I agree with you, we latinos are not all the same, we are so mixed that we look very different in our own families, i think gringos don't understand that what they know is not the same in other places, they try to fight for us but end talking over us

Gringos try to impose what they think on others and that's what piss me off the most

The people on charge of encanto really studied my country and my people, everyone in the movie is good representation because they all are different and unique and I thank them for that

same anon here… gringos don’t understand how much pepa means for us pale latinos. so many gringos question my latina identity and it gets on my nerves, and made me question my identity for so long because they don’t understand genes. i had a driving instructor look at my last name, and legit asked me “girl why is your name hispanic you’re pale as hell” i was ready to fight her. i’m so done, i shouldn’t have to remind people i’m latina cause i’m pale. yeah soak it in i’m pale as hell, what they don’t know is that i was much darker when i was little (still light but darker than now) cause i have an iron deficiency that made me more pale.

pepa means so much to us, and we’re not saying afro latinos don’t deserve rep. they do too, they deserve rep and they got that in encanto. so did we, please don’t call us white washed. we’re not, we’re just as latino as any other latino.

Exactly! I'm mestiza so that means I am more pale than others in my family, that doesn't mean im less Latina or adopted or whatever no sense they are saying

Is really sad that people make you and many others not feel as latinos just because we all don't look how they think we should look

Hola. Como dato sobre la forma de hablar de Joana, mezclando los dialectos: yo soy colombiana y llevo desde los 3 años en España. Así que muchas veces mezclo palabras españolas y colombianas sin darme cuenta (hay algunas expresiones que me pregunto de dónde son lol). Además, en mi zona natal se habla de usted, y a veces (no mucho) mezclo el tú y el usted. También la mayoría de mis amigos latinos hacen mezclas xd. Así que no es raro que Joana hable así, de hecho, me parece súper natural.

Sí, justo, yo conozco a mucha gente latina (¡creo que es imposible no conocer gente latina si vives en Madrid!) y la forma de hablar de Joana no me parece forzada ni intentando sonar más argentina. No me ha sacado de la escena en ningún momento, la verdad. Y además aprecio que Skam España incluya diversidad lingüística con Fidel, el doctor cubano de la clínica, y con Joana. ¡El español es una lengua con muchos dialectos y no me gustaría que no la representasen como tal!

Ask: Hi. To offer some data on the way Joana speaks, mixing dialects, I am Colombian and I’ve been living in Spain since I was 3. So I very often mix Castilian and Colombian words without noticing (some idioms I wonder where they’re from lol). Besides, in the place I was born we use the “usted” form, and sometimes (not often) I mix the “tú” and “usted” forms. Also, most of my Latinx friends mix dialects like that xd. So it’s not weird for Joana to speak like that, in fact, it’s super natural to me.

Yeah, exactly, I know a lot of Latinx people (I think it’s impossible not to if you live in Madrid!) and the way Joana speaks doesn’t seem forced or trying to sound more Argentinean. I haven’t been taken out of the scene at any moment, tbh. And I also appreciate that Skam España showcases linguistic diversity with Fidel, the Cuban doctor at the youth clinic, and with Joana. Spanish is a language with a lot of dialects and I wouldn’t like for it not to be represented as such!

Ok, usually my posts are more funny and stuff, but I need to say something and its too late to talk to someone, so I'll just put what I want to say in here. Before saying what I want to say I'll explain a little bit about my situation. My parent are divorced, but it has never been a big deal for me because I was two when they divorced. The thing that I hate is what comes along with it for me. I don't have any problem with them having other partners and stuff. But I hate I have to choose every holiday who I want to be with. I currently live with my mom, i am not very close with my dad, but we talk from time to time and I pass some weekends in his house from time to time. This is the year that I'm graduating from high school and a course that I'm doing on dancing, and my father invited me a meal with his wife after my graduation and I say yes, because, well, I don't spend much time with him and I thought my mom would understand. But oh boy was I wrong. She started crying and arguing with me about how anytime he says something I go running after him, leaving her on her own while she is doing many sacrifices and he does nothing. The last couple years have been quite hard with this topic because two years ago was going to be my quinceañera (I'm latina, in case you didn't know) and my father told me he would bring me to hawaii for my birthday, the thing is that that day never came, I was upset, but not because he didn't brought me to Hawaii, but because he really made that promise and never made it a reality. Of course I talked with this with my mom and she wasn't very happy either about it, but she didn't say anything to him. By that time, they had a pretty calm divorced-couple-relationship if they found each other in like my bday party or something they would say hi to each other and keep going with their lives, and my mom used to call him from time to time to ask him about the money he is supposed to send monthly for my maintenance (paying my school and stuff) the thing is that my dad's job is not quite stable, meaning he doesn't have an stablished monthly payment and he says this last 2/3 years had been some of the worst years of his career but then, a year after that, my dad is able to go to the USA in a trip "he won" and it was very fancy (after he went there by his own resources (aka he had money)) so my mom got angry and called him to tell him that it was unfair with me, that he was traveling while I was here waiting for him to keep his promise. My dad didn't take it well and since then they haven't talked to each other, so now I'm the one that has to ask him for money every time he doesn't send it that day it has to be sent. Anyway, now that my parents don't talk to each other, he feels awkward bringing me home because he doesn't want to encounter her, and I usually I'm the one who takes the bus and we agree a place where we can meet and then he lives me on a bus station and I go back home by myself, my mom doesn't like this because he has a car, but is too lazy to bring me home since a). There is a chance of them meeting each other and b). He lives in the other side of the city, so he would spend almost three hours bringing me home and then going back to his place. Now that you kind of get the situation. Let's get back to my father's invitation to lunch after my graduation and my mom crying about it. So, she told me I didn't see the sacrifices she does and he does not and she is angry with me because I decided I wanted to spend velitas (a Colombian celebration that occurs on dec 7th) with him since I'm not going to be in the country for Christmas or New Year's Eve, and it was like a way to seeing him in a holiday, leaving my mom without one of them (ps: I usually spend one holiday with one and the other one with the other one (lol) but velitas and my bday is always with my mom). Now, my graduation day is on December 5th, the graduation of the dancing course is the 6th and velitas is the 7th, and I go on vacations the 9th and come back the 14th of january next year, so is 5th w/ my dad, 6th w/ my mom, 7th w/ my dad and 8th w/ my mom after going on vacations the 9th (ps: I'm traveling with just my grandma). I thought it was a fair position, but it seems it isn't for her, and now she is mad with me. I am not capable of confronting people, and I need to say this somewhere as if it was for my mom since I'm capable of doing it in real life: I really try to make the time I spent with each of you as fair as possible, but sometimes I really hate I have to choose, and I feel like you're pushing to choose one of my parents over the other. And I know my dad has not been the best dad of history, but I haven't been the best daughter either, since I don't ever call him or ask him how he's doing, and only talk with him when I need something from him and I feel really bad about that, so I try to compensate it accepting his invitations, and I don't see it as a bad thing that he doesn't come here to leave me from door to door, I just want to spend some time with him and you haven't seen the sadness in his face when I tell him I have to go early or that I'm not staying in his place that day, I always put his ilusions in the highest place and then throwing them to the floor, and I feel awful when that happens, and I also know that he almost never gives the money he is supposed to, but Don't believe someone lives his life wanting to be the villain, and I also don't know what he is going trough. I really try to make it as fair as possible, and I don't see something wrong with me spending velitas and my graduation's night with him, I know is a big night for you too, but you're saying he never does anything for me, so let's give him a try, and also, I have spent a lot of important times with you that he'll never get to live, like my first tooth, when I learned to ride bike, every birthday celebration of mine and specially living with me, I think he deserves it, because I don't want to choose one of my parents over the other one, because I love you both, and I'm trying to do my best, and I don't understand why you don't see that. Ok this probably won't be read by anyone, but still, thank you for letting me put it out somewhere so that it doesn't make me explote xD

opinion on mexican/hispanic york? what about donut?

ohh! i like it a lot! york kinda looks a bit like people in my family, as in he has similar features to some of us (except like.. his nose?? lol) tho they’re colombian and not mexican ahah, but i do feel him being latino/hispanic or of that descent would fit really well for him!!

im also a Big Fan of latino donut. like im pretty vague about my fcs bc im still tryin to figure them out and am still working on lookin up ref pics to base fcs on (tho i do have one for donut ehehe) but i do kinda like the idea of donut bein like, some kind of latino descent as well, but maybe only on one side of his fam? or both, could be whatever. then hes got that whole thing about trying his best (??) to speak spanish, but hes just so Bad At It. it’s sweet thinkin about not only is he trying to communicate to people in their native language, but maybe he’d also be trying to keep his heritage alive :”) a lot of ppl tend to write mixed race characters as perfectly bilingual, and while that’s WONDERFUL and ppl should absolutely continue to do that, i feel like sometimes people forget that like, not everyone is gonna be totally traditional and perfectly in touch w/every aspect to their heritage culture. mixing it up a bit is fun! (granted, a lot of that is probs me Projecting, and should be taken with a grain of salt lol) (not actually trying to make any kind of Point, just sayin some thoughts)

but also (and again a lot of this is just based off my own family/self and a few friends), both donut and york seem to have pretty Strong Personalities and are pretty talkative, and while of course that’s not a thing you have to be to be latinx ;p, it does kinda fit in with the cultural aspect
