Aka, I was on the interview panel for a candidate yesterday, one of the other people mentioned that the nice thing about working in higher education was that you could always decide to get another degree, and I was like hahahaha. nOOOOOOO. NOT FOR ME I'VE HAD ENOUGH. 10-15 YEARS MINIMUM BEFORE I THINK ABOUT DOING IT AGAIN. SERVED MY TIME THANKS.

....except then I got home and a voice in my brain was like. You know YOU COULD DO IT. YOU COULD GET ANOTHER PHD. It's only three years, right? And you wouldn't have to pay for it? AND YOU WOULD GET TO LEARN MORE THINGS!!!! AND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD FOCUS ON!!! And the program is one of the top in the world so that's cool right??!?! And you have already done this so you could do it BETTER this time and get a Good Grade In Getting a PhD, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve!!

Anyway. That voice was Satan and I told it to hush off, but only after seriously thinking about it for a while and stealthily checking the degree requirement page this morning. So I'm pretty sure Satan won that battle, but I will win the war. Shh.

It says a lot abt Konoha that a) they never came to Uzushio's aid nor harbored any survivors aside from Kushina who was only given protection bc she was to be jinchuuriki and b) use the Uzumaki (who are foreigners) as Jinchuuriki (which literally means in japanese HUMAN SACRIFICE). a) make a second hat for my Dad, a double-layered one that he can wear out of the house.

b) a baby blanket to have on stand by, because I have a shit ton of yarn and time + doing a new blanket pattern could be fun. (NOT FOR ME OH GOD NO)

c) start working on that Suspiria sweater/cardigan since I happened upon a lot of yarn at a thrift store about a month ago that's roughly the light brown that'll make up the bulk of the piece.
