Omg thank you all for asking this character I totally didn't specifically ask to be asked about and who I love a perfectly normal amount giggles and twirls hair

Favorite thing about them: He really strives to be good. Good at something, anything, but just good. He constantly fights against his own narrative and I find it very admirable. He was doomed from the start to fail and I feel like he knows that, and I don't know how he finds the strength to keep trying anyway but he does and it's really neat. Maybe his skull really is too thick to listen to the words of a predetermined fate. Just the whole thing about being the tragic character of all time is very compelling to me. Also, his inherently meaningless seeking a validation to live he shares with Atsushi makes me like him for reasons similar to Atsushi.

Least favorite thing about them: MMMHHHH,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Like I really like his flaws, I'm happy he has them, I wouldn't like him the same if he didn't? But at least I can safely say it's someone I wouldn't like to deal with irl lol.

Imagine the “I will kill you” being replaced by “I will love you”. But also imagine being so deeply interlaced with another person, your existence just can't escape the other. Random headcanon: I think he's numb to pain. And I don't mean it in the “oh no he suffered so much he's used to it at this point :((( ” pitying way, I mean it in the “he's felt such very strong spikes of pain in multiple occasions, his pain detectors just gave out” way. The “he won't notice a wound because he just can't feel it” way.

Unpopular opinion: In the last period, it's been bugging me a little how Akutagawa and Dazai's relationship is portrayed in fancontent. It's just always so black and white, while actually I feel like there's so much nuisance to it that just gets lost in fandom. Yes, the way Dazai treated Akutagawa was horrible and inhuman. Yes, to an extent Dazai thought highly of Akutagawa's abilities and cared for him. Yes, Akutagawa was victim of Dazai's heavy abuse. No, Akutagawa isn't entirely subject to Dazai, he explicitly gave his consent to an hard training (which, I reiterate, doesn't justify it at all; but does give more nuisance to the whole situation) and did oppose him in multiple occasions. I just think sometimes Akutagawa is framed as this helpless damsel in distress and Dazai as this inhuman monster whereas their relationship is indeed unhealthy, but still so much more complex than that. And just, really, I feel like portraying Akutagawa so helpless in Dazai's hands makes him a disservice? Even though in canon he said to be willing to kill Dazai on multiple occasions, has punched him more than once, has told straight “no”s to his face. I just think... People tend to make Akutagawa a lot less aware than he actually is. Here, there it is, that's what really troubles me. Akutagawa does know Dazai hurt him. He does know Dazai's treatment of him was cruel, and unfair. He is aware of what Dazai did to him. That just can't stop him from seeking his approval, even against his will. But to think that Akutagawa is blind to everything Dazai did to him does him a disservice, because he really is not that stupid or with completely null self-awareness. The fact that he tends to run after Dazai despite knowing how much he's hurt him is just further proof of how complex and human-like Akutagawa's psyche is. Also, he does NOT like reading. All my homies hate booknerd Akutagawa.

Song i associate with them: Well, I associate with him songs I definitely shouldn't associate with him alcfjyalfiygaslfiya. One song I always listen to that infallibly makes me think of Akutagawa although it really DOES NOT fit Akutagawa is Patchwork Staccato by toa, with its delicious sewing symbolism and words of toxic codependent relationships and the line you, I'd really rather you just stop existing I just can't help but link to him. Or Vampire by DECO*27, which. self-explanatory. but really shouldn't be associated with Akutagawa. On the side of songs that do fit Akutagawa, Tokyo Teddy Bear (AKUTAGAWA SEWING SYMBOLISM MY ULTIMATE BELOVED) and Lost One's Weeping (“Who stained that heart black? Who was it? Who was it!?” “Can you untie the rope around his neck? Can we keep going like this? What're you gonna do? I don't care anymore!” “But why does this lump in our hearts // Say we want to disappear? What do you think of azure lion and his friends since I really don't like him very much, azure is a little hypocritical for me? I don't know

As it is literally "oh, that evil sun wukong and his fellow pilgrims attacked my house in the name of the heavenly court "it is not as if they did not do it first and why he is surprised that heaven retaliates for it, also it seems he blames sun wukong as if the only culprit for his defeat when enralidad they all lost was not just sun wukong (in memory they were all rounded up)

It also bothers me about the different treatment given by the fandom azure lion

Fandoms have a lot of it guy villains are seen as more tolerable then a female villain case in point check the genshin fandom they riot whenever a woman is even slightly mean much less evil may the heavens restrain me when arlecchino is released it will be hell and also lmk with Macaque and LBD the former being somehow worse then the latter thanks to the special which altered our bone lady so macaque is legitimately a worse person…make of that what you will we have probably incurred the wrath of the macaque Stan’s in the mentions tbh now anyway regarding Azure

He’s a bit tone deaf which is to be expected he did the wukong brain tendenrizer scroll edition so he’s a bit not caught up with things as evident by his interaction with DBK our resident and earliest defanged villain and his complete and utter disdain for PIF(reading that as a word never fails to make us laugh hahah oh god we are getting into hotd discourse later) now the thing is that Azure is very much the type to blame others for shit going wrong such as the wukong scroll cut incident tbh tho he had a point but he’s very much a how to say this…a earlier version of LBD that’s more relatable because he hasn’t gone “the world needs to be perfected” yet like she has so he’s a bit more relatable also helps that his season is a better season 3 and gives us significantly more time with him then we did with LBD as she only got bits of other seasons with other characters being focused on and then got robbed of her focus so she never got any real insight other then the special which was VERY much rushed now as to our opinion of Azure as a character…

We like him he’s a bit foolish and a poor substitute for the villain that came before him but he actually does what the rushed change with her intended better he’s overall kinda neat nice design good voice a fucked up personality and the first thing he decided to do was 1v1 god all around good character and he’s most likely going to get the macaque treatment so prepare for the fics butchering him as the show regulates him to background fodder at best and that’s if he doesn’t die which tbh is a 50/50 chance also funny how the mayor hasn’t shown up at all thanks for your ask cami and even we struggle with putting our thoughts into words so there’s that now time to suffer the hell that is the hotd fandom

If you want a rec... hm, well, it's not a "rec" per se, but I'm sure you see me posting a lot about it, so I figured I'd explain what the Dream SMP is just for clarity's sake. ^^;

So, to quote tumblr user existentialterror: "The Dream SMP is a private multiplayer Minecraft server. A bunch of Twitch/Youtube streamers roleplayed on it regularly from 2020-2022. It grew a 'plot' based on improv which later became somewhat scripted in advance. There are arcs, seasons, worldbuilding, and factions."

I personally describe it to people as this strange, unholy mix of Game of Thrones, Homestuck, and Loony Tunes, but it manages to still be compelling somehow despite all its many flaws (the story could have seriously benefited from having whatever the Minecraft RP version of a Dungeon Master is, that's all I'll say about it). It's also the single most nuanced and fascinating study of morality and perspective I've ever seen in a fictional medium (one that was absolutely wasted on its target audience because a lot of people - especially younger people - aren't capable at looking at stories through an objective lens anymore), because the DSMP has no single main protagonist. Every character is the "main character," and their story intertwines and intersects with the other characters', creating a vast web of character conflicts and interactions. A character can be the flawed hero of their own story, and a despicable villain from another character's POV. A silly little guy to one character, and the worst person imaginable to another. Basically, "Villain" by Stella Jang is the DSMP theme song. And I think that's neat!

Characters include:

A violent anarchist pigman who somehow manages to be the most open-minded and based character in the entire series.

A sentient slime monster who pretends to be human by saying things like "I have so many bones! I have like 300 bones in me like everyone else!" and "Hello, fellow meat brother!"

An anthro fox who suffers from prophetic nightmares and serious daddy issues.

A sweet, silly demon who spends half the series being a chaotic menace and the other half either being mind-controlled into a cult leader or being traumatized by what he did under the influence of said mind control.

A former king who spends most of the story sleeping to escape from the crushing disappointment of reality and who reshapes his dreams into what he wants reality to be courtesy of a deity he befriends while there.

And many more

Ratboy Genius

Say all you want about this series. We get that many of you think it's from "the weird part of YouTube", but I think it's strangely adorable in a way. The character concepts are really zany, the plots are cool, and the musical numbers are pretty silly! Ratboy Genius might look souless at first, but you'll see how wonderful it is if you get into it.

Merman in My Tub

This series is actually pretty neat, and no, it's not a BL. The characters are just friends, okay? I've watched the anime, and I've read one book of the manga, and I have to say it's also pretty silly. My favorite characters are Agari the shy shark and Echizen the mean ol' crab. I've always wanted to see an anime or manga where it's about a bunch of monster boys hanging out, so this is the right thing for me!

Mega Man

Ah yes. The Blue Bomber himself. I've known a lot about the classic series, but I love the other incarnations of Mega Man just the same. I love cool robot stuff, so of course would like Mega Man, right? Also, I tried to beat the original Mega Man games one time, but I kept on dying and dying. Poor me.

Yo-Kai Watch

No, it's not a Pokemon clone. Yo-Kai watch is amazing because I think the monster designs can get real imaginative sometimes! I hate to admit it, but I'm kind of a "genwunner" when it comes to this series; I'm not particularly fond of Shadowside or Academy Y, but I do like how Shadowside expands the lore. In my opinion, Yo-Kai watch is more entertaining than Pokemon, and maybe I should play one of its games someday!

Anything Osamu Sato related

LSD Dream Emulator, Eastern Mind, Roly Polys, YOU NAME IT! The works of Osamu Sato are psychedelic and mesmerizing, and I've even listened to a lot of his albums back then.

Initially I was gonna talk about this in my fandom list post, but figured it needs its own separate post because it's a doozy.

Have you heard of Mortasheen? Now you have! The official website is here, but if you're short on time I'll give you a rundown. Think D&D plus Pokémon, but with wacky mutant monsters and way fewer rules. It's an open-ended RPG with endless possibilities. Take your squad of weirdos across a surprisingly ecologically diverse world in the distant future, and try not to die while doing it. (No pressure, though; if you die you can just come back as a zombie, although there are some downsides to that...)

And now for a summary of each monster class!

Bioconstructs: The absolute base class of monsters, this is a broad category encompassing man-made abominations that don't fit into the more specific man-made classes. Just about every function you can think of is covered here— it's got fighters, sentries, laborers, livestock, entertainers— you name it, there's probably a Bioconstruct for it.

Arthropoids: Bug people!!! Possibly the best class overall, everyone else go home. But yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like. This specific category of man-made monsters consists of arthropods (and sometimes panarthropods) combined with human genetics, resulting in some versatile and badass creatures.

Vampirics: Ah, our first class not spawned by human shenanigans! These ancient abyssal assassins have risen up to stake their claim on our world, and they're not nice. But who knows, maybe you'll get one on your side?

Botanicals: These odd organisms of man-made origin are mixes of plant, fungus, and animal. Their unique physiology makes them quite resilient to physical damage, but be sure to keep them away from fire.

Ectosaurs: Powerful ghostly entities of uncertain origin. Most of them will only see you as prey, but if you play your cards right, they can make great allies.

Zombiespawn: Remember those zombies I mentioned? Sometimes they try to make babies, and usually that doesn't go too well, and we get these gross things as a result. What else would you expect from a barely-functioning body in a state of perpetual decay and regrowth?

Jokers: Despite not having man-made origins, these guys have a conspicuous resemblance to our idea of clowns and related goofy concepts. Oh, I'm sure it's just a coincidence... still, these gas-filled tricksters are a force to be reckoned with! It's better to have them as allies than enemies.

Unknown: Hey, where did these come from??? Nobody really knows, but they're strange and often dangerous. Watch your back.

Devilbirds: Ancient relics modeled after common human vices. Personally one of my least favorite classes due to (in my opinion) a lackluster execution of an interesting concept. Eh, they can't all be winners. In any case, don't get your hopes up for recruiting one of these monstrosities; most of them are pretty heartless!

Biomecha: Plain old Bioconstructs are sooooo last millenia... combining flesh with machinery is where it's at! That's what some monster trainers are saying, anyway. Time will tell if they're right.

Wormbrains: Now, this one is my actual least favorite class. It's just flesh puppets controlled by brain flukes. Credit where credit is due, the designs of some of these monsters are really cool (there's even some Junji Ito references in there)! I'm just not a fan of the concept.

Fectoids: These neat little guys are the ultimate bioweapons, able to shift between multicellular monster and microscopic swarm, taking on whichever state best suits the situation. It's fascinating! Hard to appreciate the ingenuity when you're being infected, though.

and last but not least...

Garbage: Well, some people would say they're the least, but I for one have a special place in my heart for these children of pollution and experiments-gone-wrong. We don't have mistakes, just happy accidents! Besides, this class holds perhaps my favorite Mortasheen monster of all time...

I sometimes feel like ppl read too much into 2012 a bit, not in a bad way or anything that exactly what fandom does. We pick apart our fav media, looking for all the subtle hints and little interactions to feed our fave headcanons and canons.

But it's back to that Steven universe killing the diamonds conversation, this is a show predominantly written for 11 year Olds 😭 and not only that it's a show that put cool fight scenes first and treated emotions and relationship dynamics as an after thought. It was also literally made in a period of time when shows were kind of mean. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it but it just means does nuances and stuff won't really be the main focus point of the show(which I also think it's an added bonus because it gives fans so many different ways to add that nuance themselves) and at the end of the day we all will leave with different interpretations since the show wasn't so firm in expressing the overall dynamics and pushed everyone aside to make Leo the main focus alot of the time.

Like for me, I couldn't stand how splinter treated Raph. I related most to Raph as a kid and found how Raph was treated by splinter infuriatingly similar to how my mother treated me and for Leo I personally thought he had it best compared to his brothers because he had the closest relationship to Splinter but when I asked my little sister about it she said that she thinks he has it worse because splinter basically used him as his personal therapist and used him to deal with his problems. I never thought of it like that and honestly thought the worst part of their relationship was that Splinter left Leo to be the leader of the group in and outside of missions but I learnt a new perspective and I didn't immediately refute it because I didn't see it at first.

And I really think this is one of the biggest problems with the 2012 discussion. We always try to put everything into black and white, neat little boxes with best little labels. But there is always a gray area and sometimes it might not even be grey it can be fucking pink. We need to respect eachothers interpretations of the relationships and try to not be too quick to bash eachothers interpretations to a pulp.

And sometimes we are too blinded by rises awesomeness that we don't find the need to pay attention to 2012's awesomeness too and only look at the negatives.

And in a tangent too many ppl refuse to give 2012 a chance😭😭 ppl are too ready to call it out but haven't watched it in years. They use 2012 to make rise brothers look better.

I'll be looking for a crossover fic between the two iterations and the only thing I'll find is ppl writing 2012 April and Raph(and sometimes Donnie) like literal demon spawns and it honestly makes me kind of sad like we could have used that opportunity to add like nuances to their characters but instead we write them so unnecessarily mean😭😭😭 like babes stoppppppppp I just want to see the brothers be besties not rise brothers adopt Mikey because 12 brothers are evil monsters that don't care about their baby brother.

Man what a guy. Kinda sucks that a lotta his fans are kinda absolute Freaks. Im fascinated by how mohg and Morgott are the consequences of extreme isolation and abuse taken to their extremes. He doesn’t feel evil in a “I had a shitty childhood so now I’m taking it out on people way”, it’s a much more complex and interesting “I was completely isolated and never experienced key steps for healthy socialization with others, and I have a fundamentally flawed understanding of love as something that is inherently tied with pain”. Like, it’s such a well executed and visceral concept and it’s annoying when he’s portrayed in the fandom as evil just for the sake of evil. He sucks shit don’t get me wrong, but at least accurately portray his shittiness.

Genuinely though what an excellent and terrifying concept. An incredibly strong demigod working off of a very isolated and childish understanding of love and power, and limited understanding of how the world works. Don’t even get me started on the themes around motherhood, blood, and birth.

Every day I stand outside GRRMs house asking him to elaborate on mohg and morgotts relationship. Because holy shit, that’s like. A really fucking important relationship if they were together in the shunning grounds. It’s not just your twin, it’s also someone you rely on just to survive. To help you find food and stay warm and defend yourself, and likely the only meaningful social interaction you ever get. I am once again intrigued by the aspect of isolation on these characters and what that realistically means.

Formless mother is awesome and it reminds me a lot of the great ones from bloodborne, and how they too have a fuck ton of themes surrounding blood and childbirth. I think about this in relation to mohg and the formless mother a lot:

Hmmm how about an au involving dreams and parallel dimensions? I've recently played through dream mirrors lore in MD solo mode and I'm lowkey obsessed with them (as I was when they first came out) and a Yusaku who rules over a kingdom of light (maybe not rules over but close enough) dreams about a kingdom cloaked in shadow and darkness and for some reason the ruler of the darkness seems very interested in him . . . Eventually coming to a point where Yusaku can't tell where he's supposed to belong in the shadows with ai? Or in the light with kusanagi? (Damn I just realized this probably isn't as dark as I wanted it to be but oh well I'm uncreative anyways ^^)

I've been thinking about how to me decode talker and firewall dragon look better when paired with yusaku instead of playmaker but their "evolved" forms darkfluid and accesscode talker match playmaker much better mostly because of darkfluids green on black design and accesscodes yellow on black sharp design (oh look there's purple on there too it seems like pm can't escape being paired with purple I wonder why . . . )

Also on the topic of monster cards I think it's neat how salamangreat is written in kanji just like how flames name is written!! It's very cute and if my memory serves me right there's just not a lot of vrains archetypes which do that (of course I could be wrong but I'll have to rewatch vrains to be certain) also fun fact "true" salamangreat monsters have kanji but salamangreat of fire is written purely in katakana possibly as a nod to its origins as an @ignister monster

Blood

Formative media has always been a fascinating subject to me while the idea of objective measurement of media quality has slowly become less so. Review scores and sales seem so quaint next to art and history. Nostalgia, the map-able path someone has taken through the media landscape, their personal feelings, and effects these things have had on their lives is infinitely more interesting than mapping a "canon" path of correct products to consume at the expense of the bad or weird. Meaning and feeling and the esoteric and idiosyncratic; I feel like I need more of these thing in my life. 1997's Blood exists in a weird spot in my mind (and is a weird first topic, perhaps) lighting up a lot of wonder and happiness in my brain when I first played it a couple years ago. A resounding feeling of “I would've really liked if I had a played it around the time it released” stayed with me as I played through it. I played Doom and Quake a ton back in the day though I don't remember a lot of progress; I remember the two Barons of Hell and...no Quake bosses. I think I played Duke Nukem at a VR setup at a theme park or something but otherwise the Build engine games were totally unknown to me. During the quarantine of the earlier parts of the COVID pandemic, I got into boomer shooters. Spurred by Civvie11 videos, I played Duke, Blood, and Shadow Warrior. I finally got into Doom WADs and the massive creative, personal wonderland of that fandom's offerings. Coming out of the full-on zombie mode that had become my work and life and being able to sit and live and not thinking about that place and what else I could be doing with my life was really refreshing. The mix of personal nostalgia, Civvie's sharing of his own childhood favorites, and finding new things to love was euphoric. Quarantine was hard for a lot of people but, for me, deep in my depression and failure and already living a heavily isolated life, it was a welcome change. Blood just works in a lot of ways for me. The pitchfork feels like you're really just prodding enemies, the shotgun is a top tier video game shotgun, the Tommy gun has right amount of pop...just a great arsenal. The Build Holy Trinity, perhaps spurred by a direct sense of competition with Doom and Quake, really go out of their ways to have a fun and diverse toolkit for the players with a lot of explosives and wacky sci-fi and supernatural weaponry. I almost feel like I can leave it at the guns; jumping around with the shotgun, blowing away swarms of zombies with dynamite, and dominating monsters with the Napalm Launcher and Tesla Cannon just feels good. The weapons match the tone of the game perfectly. Blood is spooky Halloween-y and maybe a little steampunk-y; the occult and the macabre mix with cities and industrial areas. The difficulty is high and you are a one-man-army glass cannon alone against the cult that betrayed you and all of this combined with great music and Stephan Weyte's wonderful voice coalesce into something really wonderful. This sense of isolation is something I relate to in a lot of games. I've always felt a hard to time connecting to gamers and sharing my feelings about games partially due to a feeling that these experiences are so personal. This is what I do with my time. This sense of loneliness is really amplified sometimes in these games. Caleb is a drifting zombie man trying to hold it together after losing everything and his shotgun's really neat. I decided to write this after hearing about the Fate of the Damned mod for Blood and decided to play and maybe write my thoughts on it. ...It's pretty good, lol. Both episodes have opened with pretty interesting, slow, light on combat, heavy on atmosphere levels. Cultist at the end of long, dark hallways or around corners is definitely a trend. Fun train level. Accepting Death Wish as an absolute exception of one dude clearly just having an extreme knack for making Blood levels, I wish I was wowed more by Fate of the Damned but it's fine. It's more Blood and it all works, corner after corner of Cultists be damned.

Mods help curb that awful feeling of a text being finished and finite. Blood isn’t just a game from fifteen years ago, it’s a medium in itself for more play and stories and expression.

It's now one of my OTP's, and I think the 'ship could've definitely worked had everything not gone to crap during the production of Marble Hornets (in canon), :3

A - Hmm, for OTP's I'd probably have to say Brim and Jaylex from Marble Hornets, Huntlow from The Owl House, and Miphlink (Milink? Linkpha?) from Legend of Zelda: BotW!

M - Jack Frost x Elsa (Rise of the Guardians x Frozen): I can see how these two would work together! They seem like they'd have been a cute couple if they were ever to meet, and I think they'd have genuinely enjoyed being around someone with powers like themselves!

P - OOH, okay, let's see- I've been thinking about a crossover AU for a while where it was a Little Nightmares AU for Marble Hornets! Namely, probably Brian and Tim in LN2 (still debating how some characters would work in a LN1 AU). Tim would fit into the role of Mono super well, Brian would fit as Six, and I made an ENTIRE ramble post about it on another platform a few weeks ago- The Operator would also take the place of the Thin Man. I just think it'd be neat to explore how their characters would act in that sort of setting - the tiny little guys in the big world of monsters. I'm still semi-working on this AU since I think it has some promise, but there are some parts of it that I'm a little stuck on as to how it'd be incorporated into the AU, such as The Fall ™ in both MH and LN2, and Masky + Hoodie, but other than that I think this kind of AU would be fun to explore!

T - OOH YEAH, I don't have many of these types of headcanons for other fandoms, but for the Steve Saga fandom? HECK YEAH-

For sexual and romantic orientations + gender identities, Rainbow Steve is a panromantic asexual who goes by any pronouns, Light Steve is aroace and nonbinary (same goes for Dark Steve and Shadow Steve), Nightmare Steve is a closeted bisexual, Silver Steve is panromantic, Galaxy Steve and Memory Steve are demiromantic they/them's, Reverse Steve is a questioning queer - and I feel like I should stop here with that because I haven't really thought about other characters genders / sexualities + romantic preferences are yet, tbh 😅

For things like families, I HAVE LITERALLY MADE FAMILY TREES FOR THIS FANDOM. Like, I have spent so much time thinking about characters' familial relations in this series, tbh- Rainbow Steve and Light Steve are siblings, and the same goes for their opposites, Reverse and Dark Steve.

Shadow Steve and Silver Steve are cousins since they're the descendents of their creators, Light and Dark, but after the Steve Saga series ended on Lucas' YT channel, I like to headcanon that, in some way, Shadow and Silver found out about each other, and started sharing a really close bond with each other :3. I headcanon that Nightmare Steve created Plague Steve, so I think that, in a way, Nightmare sees Dark, Plague, and Positive + Negative / Infinity Steves as his children (along with Reverse, to some extent, seeing as how Dark basically adopted Reverse Steve as their brother). I'd also like to say that Nightmare Steve and the Old Yellow King were siblings at one point in time, but I can't remember enough about Steve Saga: Origins to draw a definitive conclusion on that headcanon - I do think it'd be really swell for those two to have been siblings, tho, :3

(I think that's a dream any kid would have and still carry into adulthood; but when you grow up, you start to see everyone having a different version of what that means. Also you become more aware of the dangers you may or may have not avoided during those years) That, and it's treated as a negative concept when you don't move by a certain age.

(Part 2) Some people have reasons to stick around family, be them blood-related or not. (That, and she grew on a farm. FMA, and especially Silver Spoon having elements of that in both series. Including her persona) Hopefully we'll still have our sanity by then. Fandom is such a landmine right now, I'm left wondering which future event is going to set it off. Yeah. As a white American I've honestly had to make an effort to unlearn the notion that there's anything wrong with not moving out at a certain time, because a lot of the media I grew up exposed to takes a really cruel stance toward that (and as an adult I'm better at recognizing the ableist and classist implications). But especially in this economy, with how expensive basically everything is, if a person in their twenties or thirties or whatever can stand to live with their family there really shouldn't be any shame in it.

But anyway. Yeah! It's neat, and there's something very charming to me about her choosing to depict herself as a cow because she grew up on a dairy farm.

The amount of relief that he felt upon accidentally running into you at first and not hearing squeals or asks for an autograph. Then he noticed the walking stick you had and he understood.

Probably offers you his arm all the time when you two are out. Just to make it easier than relying on other ways to “see”. Also because he’s a better defense against people that think they can be rude just because you can’t see.

I can see Akechi wanting to be taught braille or already having a basic idea of it. It’s a useful skill to have and it’d be nice to communicate with you through that. Like a secret language.

Akechi probably constantly tells himself that he is being selfish by being with you. I mean he’s a monster and you are physically unable to see that. But he can’t help but just feel relief in the way that you can’t see the awful things he’s done.

Ren

Definitely offers for you to hold his hand or hang onto his arm if you two go on walks. He promises to keep you safe and he’ll even describe all the things you two pass so you have a good mental image of it.

Loves to just talk to you and hear how you view things. Just listening to you describing things in words and relating them to feelings causes him to smile.

Oh you can bet that he loves having you put your hands on his face to see him. He absolutely loves that so much, but has absolutely asked if he could do the same to you. 

He is so gentle and is sure to press a kiss to your forehead afterwards every time.

Ryuji

Ryuji probably treats you like you’re fragile at first. He’s just so afraid that something could happen or he might hurt you. He’s a bit of a rough guy, so he’s being extra careful.

Eventually he does treat you less fragile, but still tells you to let him know immediately if he messes up. His feelings be damned, call him out.

Okay but the fact that you don’t judge him upon meeting him is so nice. He’s gotten so much crap from people just because his hair is bleached and his school uniform isn’t neat. But you don’t judge him for any of that and he appreciates that so much.

If you have a seeing-eye dog then you can bet Ryuji is going to be so excited. Yes he knows that he can’t just pet the dog, but he’ll still be in love with the animal. He loves you too, but dog.

Yusuke

Yusuke finds his heart break every time he goes to paint something. Just because he finds it so sad that you can’t see the colors and love that goes into paintings and art.

I can see him asking you to paint something. Yes he knows you’re blind, but there’s many artists that should’ve even considering themselves that (in his opinion) and he wants to see what you come up with. 

Would make sure you have everything already set up. He has paint cans labeled in braille for you but even then, he is still intrigued with what you could come up with.

Honestly, Yusuke falls in love so much when he describes things to you or asks you to describe things to him. Has probably gained so much inspiration from you too. Might cry if you base colors on people and tell him that he’s the sky for you.

#the barking artist is my catch-all tag, but I’m going to be trying to use it for art exclusively from here on out. You might find a few text posts scattered in there, whoops.

#spazzcat doodles is another art tag I use specifically for quick doodles, 

#the barking writer is my writing tag, and it’s where 99.9% of everything fic related goes. I also have individual tags for the multi-chapter fics I’ve posted to AO3. They are simply tagged with their name, or a name acronym. [ex. Casting Rain, Monsters Splitting Hairs].

#answering asks is my ask tag, and includes any doodle/writing responses I have to asks in my inbox. My inbox is always open, I really like talking to people! Feel free to send me things. :D

I also have some smaller tags, more for organizational purposes than anything else. spazzcat liveblogging for liveblogs, spazzcat wips for work in progress drawings, the dark is rising is for various creepy things I enjoy that you may want to blacklist if that isn’t your thing, and sometimes I use darkposting for vents. I also have a delete later tag, and regularly purge the account of everything in it.

General FAQ:

I use Photoshop 10, 2019 ed. to draw with. Regular brush tool and the pencil tool are staples, and most of my brush packs are 5+ years old from DeviantArt. I frequently use references when I draw. I have a very old, beat up Bamboo Create that I draw on. It is 10 years old now, I think.

I’m also a regular user of Windsor Newton Watercolors and COPIC markers. My favorite paper is Arches Cold Press. Smooth...... good...........

I graduated from art school last year

I run on EST, but I do try to compensate for different time zones by reblogging posts at specific times of day.
