I finished the Outer Wilds DLC recently and naturally I’m still going slightly bonkers about it… these spooky dudes were so aesthetically interesting I really wanted to sketch one so here is a spooky painty guy. I find it so cool how different the colours in the DLC are - separating it visually from the purples and pinks and oranges and browns that characterise so much of the base game!

Volleyball update.

So the semester have just started and the new team in great. The dynamic and team building is pretty good. It ver fun and enjoyable.

My overhand serves are coming along well. I even get them over mix-net. Still, some of them just hits the net and there have been a few off days where I just can't get them to work like I want.

We also had a intern competition in the team, just for fun. And that was fun and exciting. I really got a few good smashes and set in. There was one rally where I got a perfect set lined up to me and smashed the ball and scored a point. It was a cross shot with my LEFT!!! Felt really good. Lots of high-fives were given on both ends.

Other than that, I'm becoming better at diving and digging the ball, it's kind of more the right timing I struggle with. While I can often get the ball up in the air, it can be better and my technique need some polishing!

I'm also in a tournament with neighbour associated teams. Like volleyball teams from different schools or stores or other organisations. I was at the same one last year, and it was very fun and the learning curve can be pretty steep there- so I'm very excited to get the opportunity again.

The first match was a circus though, haha. I one time tried to do a set and since the ball was low and I positioned myself wrong, I ended up sending the ball to the grandstands. It was a little embarrassing. It was another time a teammate dug the ball and I tried to get the ball up in the air again, but I literally grabbed the ball and threw it up in the air again. We all had a laugh thought.

I really like that it's room to not be perfect. It's ok to mess up, because all of us know that we are improving regardless of a few missed serves, smashes that goes out of bound or just stupid mistakes as sending it far far out of the court.

How it feel when I get my overhand serves over the net :p
