By the way, I might be a whole lot less active on this blog from now on. My pony died suddenly this summer some time after I graduated, and I spent the latter half of this year hopping across europe from one seasonal job to another. It was fun, I spent a lot of time in the saddle this year, but I moved to Germany now and I'm trying very hard to get my life together. It's been a turbulent couple of years. I tried going to uni for a short while, but I realised that I can't deal with the unstructured, constantly precarious lifestyle that uni brings with it. So I'm going back into my trade. Don't see this as a tragic turn btw, this might be the first time I've made a sensible decision. I found a wonderful flat that's within my budget, and for once it's more than a temporary arrangement that'd just get me through the year. I have a full-time job with great opportunities in the trade I love, away from the frankly ridiculous workplace abuse at my old workshop. No more getting ducttaped to chairs, everyone! But this means that I'm not in a position to spend time around horses. I don't have money to spare to afford lessons, I don't have time to spare to work for them. Let alone time to loan some scraggly old pony to teach tricks to. Maybe one day, in a few years, when things have settled. But not now. Anyways, I'm not gone, I'm just being responsible for a minute and trying to not be the least functional twenty year old in a ten mile radius.

Apparently im the lover of impossible hobbies
Current project: Sew/embroider myself my own norwegian folkdress (festdrakt).
Next project: Knit a sweater that was made in the 80s, never had a pattern available, and only lives on in like 4 pictures 🙃
Oh and i've never actually learned how to do either of these things before starting. I love it.

4 and 40 for the ask game!
4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
I’m not entirely sure if this means feral in a bad way or a good way, but either way I don’t really have strong reactions to individual words? Like the way some people hate the word moist with a burning passion is not an experience I can relate to, except in that I feel the same way about sounds at certain frequencies or with certain qualities that are unpleasant to me personally. I’m usually more interested in the ways words relate to each other, not just semantically but sonically as well. I find alliteration, rhyming, repetition, etc very satisfying (or distracting/grating if they’re overused or used in ways that feel forced), and in my own work I place a high value on what I feel is the rhythm of my prose, and will make changes to how I word things in deference to that in addition to the usual considerations. Something can be above reproach grammatically speaking but still strike me as “wrong” because it disrupts the rhythm of the rest of the sentence, and sometimes I’ll even stretch grammar rules a bit to make it sound right, haha.
This is something that concerns me much more in my own writing than in others,’ though sometimes I will stop reading something that sounds dissonant to me if there’s a constant disconnect between someone’s style and my personal sense of rhythm. It’s also fairly common for me to take a few paragraphs to get used to someone’s style and find the rhythm of their prose, at which point it will suddenly click for me. Usually I’ll go back and reread from the start, because the dissonance of the mismatched rhythm and my attempts to settle into it can affect my comprehension and retention.
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it.

I always think it’s so funny when I’m doing doggy nail trims at work and customers are like “wow ur so patient!” Like I am used to fighting with colts that won’t pick their feet this is nothing.

She is so smart and so forgiving and I love her sm.
We've been working on "get up on the thing I point at" lately and she's picked up on it so fast- I started with one book and it only took about 3 repetitions with a lure for her to get the idea. And she's always so happy to be Doing Stuff, engaged, her tail is wagging the whole time we're training no matter how clumsy I am with my markers/rewards. Honestly it's made training a ton of fun. She tries really hard to please- I'm just so happy with her. And she's quite comfortably jumping up on to a stack of 4 of my textbooks, which is almost as tall as she is, lol!

i think i forgot to share but I got a puppy this summer.
Her name is Pluto and shes an Italian Waterdog, Logotto Romagnolo in Italian.
She loves water in any form, bringing stuff, sitting on my lap, cuddling and digging into field mice holes.
She met Bonnie already and is a little scared of her but Bonnie loves her and really watches out for. Shes also already a really good Arena dog, sitting pretty patiently in her corner when I do stuff with Bonnie.
