some chess-related thinking and sad conclusions.
there's no secret that the chess symbolism is important to the story. characters play chess within the story, big chessboard is on the cover of the webcomic, etc.
and recently we even received direct comparisons between some characters and certain chess pieces. so, prospero is a bishop, montresor is a rook, and annabel is a queen (of course). and quite popular became the theory that lenore could be a king.
I'm no chess expert, but if the memory serves me correctly, the king counts as the most valuable and at the same time the most defenseless piece in the game. but the king is under the powerful protection of the queen, who can move any number of squares in any direction. and the queen's main task is to make the king win, obviously.
all this makes me think that annabel lee actually has no hope of salvation for the two of lenore and herself. what if she just wants lenore to think that way, while trying to help her win? annabel is not that naive, and she probably understands that the deans are watching their every move from the very beginning and know about all the details of their plan. but it doesn't really matter because what matters to her is saving the king.
and if this is true, then the whole current situation becomes even more heartbreaking. this little afterlife in purgatory is perhaps the last time annabel lee and lenore can be together. but annabel chooses to arrange this whole play-pretend, during which lenore begins trusting her less and turning away from her, if this increases lenore’s chance of winning.

Kaeya had always been an efficient and hard-working individual (he had to be to support Diluc in the background as his brother rose thru the ranks after all).
He has so much free time because he completes all his work way ahead of schedule. And if he still has enough time, he adds more to the workload in secret.
And once all of that was done and over with, he makes time for everyone. He has to. He feels as if every moment has to be given to someone else.
No one knows how he does it. No one has to know.
Every mission has a dozen strategies in line, and every battle plan is made with efficiency in mind. His perfect record will not be tarnished. He can't risk it (even if it baffles others that he would willingly activate a ruin guard just to prevent a failed mission. Jean disagrees with his methods, but Kaeya can say that the results say otherwise)
He needs to be quick.
Efficient.
Perfect.
And so he comes and goes like the wind.
Kaeya values time because he knew every second counted. He can't just stand there as if he were frozen. Time could run out in an instant.
Kaeya had only been late once his entire life.
He'd rather he never be late ever again.
It took one day of being of being imperfect for everything to fall apart. On that tragic day...had he gotten there on time... then maybe...
.
.
.
" Come on, let's get moving, traveler. We're not frozen in place after all. " Kaeya teasingly says. He stiffles a giggle at the traveler's exhasperated sigh.
"Yeah yeah, we've heard enough of you calling us a slacker. Can't you be a bit more patient?" Paimon whines at him.
Kaeya snorts, but acquiesces, hiding the shaking of his hands at the thought of being idle.
He imagines hearing a clock ticking.
Kaeya knows that that is his own problem. He tries his hardest to relax as he waits for the traveler to finish whatever they're making on the alchemy table because, seriously, it is supposed to be a relaxing day. There's nothing major going on, and his schedule is once again empty as intended. What's the hurry?
Kaeya taps his foot on the ground as he waits. He wishes he could take his own damn advice when he tells others to relax.

I think my Kofi gets a little lost at times, so I went ahead and made a little gofundme to assist with my current predicament!
The short of is: A very expensive panic attack! The longer of it is: I think covid went and made my anxiety way worse, kinda felt like I was dying, and unfortunately the only medical facilities open after 8 are the expensive ones (ER). Apparently I'm fine other than the fact my brain hates me and I now have a bill for about $1,800 haunting me
SO, IF YOU'D LIKE...

I’ve finished all the sidequests and shrines in BOTW. I’ve got like a month before TOTK is released. In light of this, I’ve decided to let Link run little normal errands all over Hyrule so he has a semblance of normalcy before I forcibly launch him into torment on May 12th.

Thinking about how Cor, the boy who "was used to hard knocks," wound up with a brother who was famous for boxing, "and all their fights ended (if they didn't begin) with Cor getting knocked down." Just the idea that this abused child can go from being cuffed and kicked and bruised to realizing that some blows are affectionate. Some blows are playful. And, most importantly, he's allowed to hit back. Can you imagine the first time they get into it, and he realizes he can hit back? This slave boy finally has a right to defend himself, and he and his brother can fight and throw each other around because at the end of the day they are completely confident in their love for each other. If Cor gives Corin a bloody nose, they're still going to be friend by evening. It makes me emotional to think how for so long he had punishment, and now he gets affection and confidence in his position and a brother who he may fight with, but who will never EVER be genuinely trying to hurt him. I just think there's something important about that, about Cor feeling safe enough to fight with Corin even when he knows he's going to lose, because he knows it's not a punishment. It's not a beat down. It's a good clean honest argument, and both of them are going to walk away from it perfectly safe.

I can be afraid of Moray eels knowing they live ke to be pet by divers and are friendly
You probably should be, as most moray eels want to be left alone and will attack if startled or disturbed. Those videos are of divers that have built up a relationship with those specific morays over a few years of regularly visiting them. Don't be like, absolutely terrified of them, they're kinda dorky looking anyways lmao, but like with any wild animal be cautious.

He wanted it... 🐴
I was told by @ndostairlyrium that the new ad for italian snacks Buondì ("Good day") has big Aisling energy.
And so of course I had to. Because it does.
Translation.
"You want it, uh? You want it??"
Cullen: *a wide arrangement of "But-!!!"
Aisling: "He wanted it... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "
For all new followers: HI! That is Aisling's horse, a small Dalish All-Bred with an attitude, named Little Brother.
Don't worry she'll be fine, she's used to it by now. Cullen, a little less so, but she won't tell the horse anything worse than "Bad horsey!" and say he's right in defending himself if she bullies him, so...
