@upsilambic also that post has the same energy as the time I set bread on fire.
It all ended up well and no one was hurt, but still.

he knows he ought not to be. he's a wood cutter, who cuts wood. he does his job faithfully and fully. every morning, from dawn till dusk (with room in the middle for lunch) and sleeps from dusk till dawn. A pattern that repeats over and over, day to day.
he sells the wood to craftsmen and families. they haggle over prices (they say he always overprices his wood. but what would they know?) but they always reach a middle ground.
the craftsmen carve the wood to bits. slicing and turning the stocky block of wood from something unassuming to something beautifully useful. Perhaps a chair, perhaps a table. When the wood cutter comes to buy a new chair (his broke after years, that loyal friend). its always so much more than what he sold it for.
they haggle. (of course they do)
'You don't know!' the craftsman argues, 'The talent, the skill, the work, the eye for detail that must go into this single chair!'
one look at the chair and the wood cutter can sort of guess
'You don't know the solitude,' the craftsman continues, 'that this requires. How silence becomes noisy after so long!'
a remembrance of just a few hours earlier and the wood cutter can sort of guess
they go back and forth over price. the wood cutter used to reach a middle ground. now. he can see through the craftsman's eyes.
the chair is pretty. the chair is well made. it will last him more than his wood can last the craftsman. there are many who'd like such a chair, however simple it is. there are not many who'd like a chunk of stocky wood, uncut, unprocessed.
only those with skills find value in it. it does not take skill (innate, honed, gentle eyes. innate, honed careful hands.) to cut wood like it does to carve it.
what is that like? hands so gentle with a blade, eyes so perceptive in light. why was he a wood cutter? to only churn out block after block of wood? why couldn't be be a gentle, watching craftsman? an unbidden thought: what if he was him? wouldn't that be so much better than being him?
he pays full price, chair in hand. he banishes the thought. tomorrow dawn he must awake. he knows he ought to.

i’m in love with daddy’s home edits, that’s a real obsession, if people stop making edits with Gojo satoru to this song, then i’ll lose faith in humanity, i want to hear this song every day, every hour and every second of my whole life. i'm ready to fall asleep and wake up to it. I haven't even watched jjk, but I don't care, i’m grateful to usher and gojo for this amazing collab and i want all future generations living on this earth to know about it, i want the whole galaxy to know that daddy's home🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

i'm new to khr and while i love 1827 i don't get why the ship is called like that?? i think the 27 comes from the number on tsuna's shirt or gloves, but what's the link between hibari and "18"?
hello!! welcome to khr fandom & 1827 ship then :DD
the 1827 comes from their numbering said in japanese with a tweak
18 is 1 + 8 = ひとつ hitotsu (one/first in jp) + 八 hachi (eight)
hibari is ヒバリ in katakana, ひばり in hiragana.
the バ ba in hibari is the 八 eight kanji character alike with added quote mark. so hiba ヒバ is 18 for (ひ+バ)
meanwhile for tsuna's 27 is more known because official used this too. but it comes from 27 = 2 (two, pronounced as ツー (tsuu) in japanese) + 7 (nana なな)
tsuna is ツナ in katakana, つな in hiragana.
so 27 is tsuna for ツ+な
hope it's an adequate explanation :))

the writing for the future arc is really at another level. i’m only a couple of chapters in, but that more serious, heavy, dark tone does wonder to the arc, and was always gonna be the tone that was going to work the best with it tbh, because i can’t see amano writing the future arc with another tone when it’s also the arc where she chose to look at what the mafia is, and what it does, and what can happen within it through the most long, hard, realistic look so far.
which is of course not to say the previous arcs didn’t already do that to some extent! but the future arc is the culmination of them building up to tsuna being dragged further and further into the mafia, and then suddenly he has to deal with the very worst of it, and it’s super fun to read. that bit of thriller vibe the writing has as tsuna and gokudera learn little by little just what the hell is going on, as well as the high-stakes, high tension, race against time, hopelessness vibes of it as vongola is effectively backed into a corner and that close to lose when they appear in the future are really done so well, that even as i know everything that’ll happen, i can’t help but still stay on my toes a little.
and though the writing is different for sure from the previous arcs even if they contributed to it, i don’t want to say it’s better than before, but i do think it is actually, at least in the sense where, again, it’s the first time when amano really leans into the premise of her story, i.e a civilian boy being groomed to become the boss of the strongest mafia family in the world, and shows the consequences of it, where it will eventually, inevitably leads his life to. like, before that whenever tsuna had to deal with the mafia it was through isolated accidents that were actually the exceptions to his civilian life, and he had a more or less straightforward way to deal with it and get back to his civilian life. by which i mean, it was always meant to be a temporary thing he hoped would never happen again once he got rid of it.
but then he’s thrown into the future, ten years into the future, ten years into his future, and even if present!tsuna still compartmentalizes the whole thing as something he just has to bear with temporary and deal with so he can get back to his civilian, peaceful life, it’s actually the direct consequences of the type of life future!tsuna eventually chose to live. and though of course for plot’s sake amano dialed it all up to eleven, future!tsuna’s normal life, its default state is still the deaths--murders and blood and violence and struggles for ever greater power that lead to wars, because that’s just what the mafia is even at its tamest so to speak.
and there’s so much going on in this arc we don’t actually see tsuna comes to this realization and struggles with it the way i remember it, and there’s actually a not so subtle “we learned from our mistakes and will never let that happen again” type of message at the end of the arc where they literally erase and reset that timeline, but there’s actually no escaping it. because yeah, for sure they’ll do their damn best to never let it happen again at the same scale it never did, but everything that happened in the future arc will happen again to some extent no matter the path present!tsuna chooses to take as he lets himself become fully mafia, and no matter his resolve to do better and make the mafia better, because it’s all intrinsic to what the mafia is.
so like, sure the future arc was made that way by byakuran, but it remains nonetheless a truthful glimpse into what tsuna’s life is heading to to some extent, and not a negligible one by no means because, again, vongola is the strongest mafia family in the world, and we know they didn’t get there and stayed there by playing nice and wanting to be and do better when they could. and though it went unsaid and unexplored canonically, i just think it’s a super interesting take to be taken from the arc and explore.
