not like actual conflict cause we know hotch is a very principled guy
more like
"shit i can't shitpost about overthrowing the government anymore cause my boyfriend is the government" vibes
you have no idea how deeply i feel about this i've actually posted about this because i'm very much against all cops and he's a literal fed ! but
Tumblr media
you met in the most conventional of ways, which makes the whole thing even funnier to the outside person. a bar. you noticed him the moment he walked in, too downright gorgeous to be ignored, you stare at him completely shamelessly and get a few shy awkward smiles in return while he sips on his first drinks and talks to his companion, who you later learned was rossi.
he will find it later on that you're not really up for games, but it takes him by surprise when you approach him, card in hand with your phone number and the red stain of your red lips on the other side. he's immediately smitten, being flirted with so openly at his age does wonders for his ego and he makes sure to text you as soon as he gets back to his apartment.
the texting back and forth goes for hours, a lot of flirting, you're much more outspoken than he is, but still you find him hilarious, you will be telling your friends he's the funny one between you two (none of them will believe you, but you like having this only to yourself as well).
you talk movies, plays, music, favorite drinks and by 2am he asks you on a date. it's perfect from the get go. he's flattering, compliments your choice of clothes, says he likes the lipstick (the same you used on the card he is keeping safe on his wallet), takes you to a nice restaurant.
you tell him since you made the very first move, he would have to be the one to kiss you, he argues he sent you the first text so you should be the one to do it, in the end none of you know who took the first move, you're just sure you were the one to unlock your apartment door, stumbling along with him as you two passionately kissed.
it's not common for this to happen for him, he's too much of a gentleman, sleeping with someone on the first date isn't the gentlemanly thing to do, you're not attached to those norms so even if he tried to argue, your lips glued to his neck as you worked on his belt took his mind off of it.
it's not until the next morning that he really notices your place: the types of books you had, some revolutionary art pieces and it's then he realizes he has no idea what you do for a living. neither did he tell you he was a fbi agent. you two talked long hours and career wasn't even a topic (that may be why you caught his heart so fast).
you were a journalist, a writer, quite proficient and known for your progressive ideals and less than civil protests, so when you both realize the differences and the conflict it might bring, the first instinct was to pull away. forget the whole thing. it was only one date after all.
it's a matter of days for the realization that being apart won't happen, your thoughts are filled with him and his voice and the way he touched you and aaron can possibly detail every curve of your body and the way you smelled as if he was still in bed with you.
there's a mutual agreement of public discretion, you can't have your readers knowing you're falling for a fed, nor does the media needs any more reasons to write about the fbi.
his team knows though, and so does strauss, she had to be warned of the possibility of your name popping up in some lists. she reads half of your writings after that, highlighting stuff you should not be writing about (you won't listen to her on it) and the compromise you make is to keep all of your opposition material completely professional, no tweets, no tiktoks, nothing of the sort with jokes about overthrowing the government.
"did you... did you just cite and use one of stalin's books as resource here?" he asks, he's in your bed, blue boxer shorts and white t-shirt on, completely comfortable with you already, his reading glasses sit on top of nose like an old man and he furrows his brows, looking up at you. aaron's interested in what you write, he truly reads whatever you hand him just to learn more about you, he's not the one to try to censure any of it.
"well yeah... his writings are the easiest to comprehend on the topic." you shrug, not understanding the tone of his question at first.
"honey... you can't just... do you know how many... forget it. your editor will love it." his poor attempts to talk you down failing each time he looked over and saw your expectant eyes as his opinion is important to you. you smile at his defeat, taking the papers from his hand and throwing somewhere else in the room, his glasses go to the bedside table and soon you're kissing any of his worries away.

REEEEEEEEEEE!!!! 🤩
Requests are open~ I’m so excited, I love your writing!! 🥹
Can I request a Laios x Fem (maybe a bard) reader? But.. hear me out… she uses an ocarina to put people/monsters under a trance, like a beast-master type thing! And maybe reader was living in the Dungeon with Senshi as like an apprentice? Even though she’s a Tall-Man, and not related to the Dwarven chef, reader just calls Senshi her Uncle.. She joins them same as Senshi, with reader and Laios unconsciously gravitating towards each other and both of them being oblivious smitten cuties~
Also probably hilarious if reader acts shocked when she first joins the party and finds out that none of them had ever eaten monsters before.. and starts immediately listing off her favorite meals~ (Laios is instantly a little jealous that she was practically raised on Monster food)
senshi's little apprentice
Tumblr media
꒰ includes ꒱ ⸻ laios touden (+ laios' party).
꒰ warnings ꒱ ⸻ gn! reader, fluff.
꒰ mimi's note ꒱ ⸻ ocarina's are seriously so cool and anyone who can play them can have my money 🤲 thank you for the request!
Tumblr media
When you first joined the party with Senshi, nobody really questioned your relationship with the dwarf, though you calling him ‘Uncle Senshi’ definitely raised a few eyebrows.
They all chose not to comment on it
Your immediate shock on them not usually eating monsters is what draws Laios’ in almost instantly.
He’s definitely jealous that you were raised on monster food, he wishes he was able to get a taste! He definitely wants to hear everything you’ve ever eaten whilst in the dungeon
Basilisk stir fry? Mimic tacos? Laios’ mouth is watering nonstop.
Any recommendations are immediately met with Laios whining that you guys need to go kill a (insert monster) asap!
You found it strange at first that they weren’t accustomed to eating monsters- but Senshi reminds you it's not the norm above ground. After that, you’re very curious about why Laios wants to eat monsters so badly.
Either way, it’s because of this that you and Laios bond!
Naturally gravitating towards each other, recounting monsters that you’ve encountered and meals you’ve ate/want to try. Laios is just excited to share his passion with others.
When you tell him about how you use your ocarina to lure in monsters, he’s super interested- wonders how your music affects different monsters, do the frequencies need to be changed depending on the monster, etc.
Laios and you become a power duo with your trance-inducing abilities and his swordsmanship.
As you and Laios grow closer, Senshi starts to get a little overprotective of you (he raised you, after all!)
During meal times, whenever you and Laios help out, he’ll have Laios be stationed away from you.
That doesn’t always workout though, because you usually end up with Laios to help teach him how to fold the dough/chop the meat/skin the monster/etc properly.
Yeah, Senshi does not like this…
It’s not that Senshi doesn’t like Laios, but he’s a weird lad, y’know?
Marcille is very intrigued by your ocarina- she can’t help but wonder if a spell was casted on it, or if it’s a magical tool itself?
Either way, the ability to put monsters (and sometimes even humans) into a trance is alarming, but she trusts you.
Will ask to study your musical instrument, if that’s alright with you.
If the connection between music/frequencies and the mind is of particular interest to you, then you and Marcille definitely have long talks about it.
She’ll bring up anything she’s ever found in her research, helping to fuel your own theories and ideas.
If she’s having nightmares, might bashfully ask if you could play her a tune.
Chilchuck can’t find it in himself to get behind eating monsters, even if it has your seal of approval.
You were raised on it, after all, so of course you think it’s normal. He’ll pity you only a little bit.
Senshi did his best to be a good parental figure, but sometimes Chilchuck will step in with his own fatherly advice.
“Aye, they were holdin’ these knives at a wee age!” Senshi reminisces on when he taught you how to properly chop vegetables, meanwhile Chilchuck is horrified and also surprised you made it this long.
If you have a problem with your hair constantly getting in the way, Chilchuck will braid your hair to help.
Both Chilchuck and Senshi team up to keep Laios away from you- not that it ever really works though.
Laios’ love for monsters and you is too strong.
Later when Izutsumi joins in, she’s not a fan of you- at all.
She’s a beastkin, as you know, so your whole ocarina-beast-control thing freaks her out and she makes a point to always yell at you to never do it to her or else she’ll do something you won’t like!
Eventually, once she’s sure you’d never bring harm to her, she’ll warm up to you.
Similarly to Chil thinks you’re weird for enjoying monster food so much.
As time goes on, and you grow closer to everyone, you eventually open up on how you ended up in the dungeon and how Senshi took you in. Everyone (Marcille specifically) is very sympathetic towards you.
Actually Laios calls you lucky but lets ignore that for now
Laios will offer to show you around, if you ever want to leave the dungeon
Is he asking you out on a date? Absolutely. Does he realize he's asking you out on a date? Not one bit.
Will sadly inform you they don’t serve monster food in any restaurants outside the dungeon- but he finds your eagerness to try new foods kinda cute.
Overall, everyone in the party loves you (one in particular a little too much for Senshi’s liking)

Bradley thought he was hilarious with the way he refused to tell you where you and he were going for the night on Friday. He wouldn't even tell you how you were getting there. All he said every time you asked was, "Just pack a bag and find out."
"Infuriating," you whispered to yourself at work on Thursday. When you heard footsteps coming up behind you in the hallway, you turned to see Jake rushing your way. "Seriously? Don't you ever work?"
"Come on, Angel," he whined. "I'm gonna ask her out. I just need one more shot at talking to her."
You sighed and said, "Fine. Come on. We could actually use your help."
A few minutes later, Jake looked absolutely delighted as Cat had him sit down on the stool next to hers. "Ready?" she asked him. "There are a lot of questions."
"I'm ready," he replied, eyes glued to her face as she opened the aviation survey document on her computer. It wasn't like this needed to be completed today. The software was still in the testing stage. But you knew this would be a good excuse to keep Jake in the lab for a little while and let him engage with Cat.
"Name, age, rank and aircraft. Please," she asked him. You tried to sit quietly and work further down the counter, but you were half focused on them.
"Jacob C. Seresin. Thirty three. Lieutenant. F/A-18." His voice was calm and even as he answered her, but you could see his leg bouncing a little bit. He was so smitten it was absolutely ridiculous.
"What does the C stand for?" she asked, entering his information.
"That's classified," he told her with a smirk.
She turned to look at him with a smirk of her own. "Your full name is Jacob Classified Seresin?"
You had to press your lips together as Jake started laughing. "Shoulda thought that one through a little better," he drawled with a blush. "It actually stands for Christopher."
"Where are you from, Lieutenant Classified?" she asked, and he leaned in to look at her screen.
"Is that actually a question?"
"No," she said softly. "I was just curious about your accent."
Jake's voice sounded smug as hell as he said, "It's not an accent, Lieutenant Coleman. It's a drawl." And then you were forced to listen to their flirtation mixed in with the real survey questions for the better part of an hour.
When Cat was finally done gathering information about Jake's flight history, you were surprised she didn't also have his phone number. "Thanks for your help," she told him as they both stood.
"Anytime, Lieutenant," Jake replied. And when he walked past you, he whispered, "I owe you one, Angel."
Once he was gone, you stared at Cat until she looked at you. "If you're interested in big, strong aviators, all you have to do is ask," you told her. "I think he'd happily go out with you."
She scoffed and waved you off. "He's just fun to flirt with a tiny bit. Absolutely none of that was serious."
"Speak for yourself," you muttered.
"Besides, he would never go for a woman like me. At least not for more than a date or two. Maybe a long weekend, if you catch my drift. And after my ex husband, I'm done playing games. Like I said, Lieutenant Seresin is nice to look at, but under no circumstances will I touch."
"Never?" you asked softly.
Cat planted her hand on the counter and leaned toward you. "He gets around, Lieutenant Commander. Women on base brag about it. And I've seen how he is at the bar. Just surrounded at all times."
Once again, you didn't know how to respond.
"But your friend, Cam?" she asked, giving you a pointed look. "He seems sweet."
You remained silent. Cat was beautiful. If she wanted to go out with Jake, she could go out with Jake. If she wanted to go out with Cam, she could go out with Cam. She could probably get pretty much any guy to ask her out if she wanted to. But if she was just going to flirt with Jake, because she thought it was no big deal, then Jake might end up getting hurt in the process if she moved on with someone else.
And then your suspicions started to come true. When you went down to eat lunch with Bradley at noon, you saw Cat and Jake at a small table together. So his reputation was terrible, but not so bad that she didn't want to keep flirting? You sat with your head in your hands until Bradley and Nat joined you.
"What's wrong?" Nat asked, taking the seat across from you. "And where's Jake? He told me he was eating with us."
"He's over there," you said, nodding your head in his direction where he was sitting with Cat. "And she's flirting with him."
"Isn't that good?" Bradley asked, dropping down into the seat next to you.
"No," you groaned. "She likes Cam. She thinks Jake is a womanizer who would never be interested in her. She thinks this is just some harmless flirting."
"Oof, he's about to get shot down isn't he?" Nat asked, and now all there of you were watching across the cafeteria as Cat and Jake smiled at each other. Then Jake leaned in a little closer, and Cat bit her lip.
"Oh no," you whispered, reaching for Bradley's hand as your heart pounded. "Maybe he is a bit of a womanizer?" you asked. "I've seen that look on his face before. He's asking her out."
Bradley laced his fingers with yours. "He's not doing that kind of thing anymore," he told you and Nat. "He seems to be ready to settle down in a relationship. Been talking about it for months. Oh no, there he goes."
Nat gasped as Jake stroked the back of Cat's hand with his thumb. Her smile faltered and she kind of shrugged and shook her head. Even though you couldn't hear them, you had a pretty good idea of how the conversation was going. Cat's hand slid away from his, and soon she was standing to leave.
"Yikes," Nat whispered as the three of you scrambled to make it appear as though you hadn't been watching Jake get turned down. "That was so surreal. Looked exactly like the day you asked your wife out and she told you no," she added to Bradley, trying not to laugh now. "Remember that, Soul Sister?"
Bradley placed a loud, sloppy kiss on your cheek and said, "She came around eventually. One kiss and she was begging me to take her on a date."
You rolled your eyes. "I would love to dispute that, but it's actually the truth."
"Hey, guys," Jake said, gingerly sitting down next to Nat. His face was completely neutral, and his voice was even. But you could tell he was upset.
"Hangman," Bradley grunted. And then he and Nat filled up the silence before it became too much while you picked at your food. And Jake just sat quietly.
--------------------------
"Hard Deck night, Baby Girl," Bradley reminded you when you walked inside after work.
You were tired, and you didn't really feel like going out. The bar would be packed, just like it was every Thursday night, and you were starting to get crampy, which meant your period was coming. "You don't want to stay in?" you asked, pouting up at him. "We could take a bath together."
Bradley ran his thumb along your pouty lips. "We can stay in if you want to, Sweetheart. Let me text Nat and tell her."
Then you kissed his thumb and said, "No, we can go. But maybe we can leave early. I'm exhausted."
Famous last words. At ten o'clock, you were kind of drunk, Bradley's hands were all over you, and Cat was waving you up to the bar. "I'll be right back, Roo," you told him, slipping away before he could keep you with him. Bradley watched you chatting with you coworker, happy you seemed to be getting along with her now.
"I gotta know, man. How do you grow such a good mustache?"
Bradley turned just in time for Cam to try to lean against the edge of the pool table, miss completely and nealy land on his face. Shit, he was as at least as drunk as you were.
"Genetics," Bradley said, thinking of nearly every damn photo he had of Goose sporting the same facial hair. Cam had a bit of a baby face, and the idea of him with a mustache was almost laughable.
Then you walked back over in a state of annoyance. "Oh good, you're here," you said to Cam. "Mr. Popularity."
"What do you mean?" he asked, stroking his bare upper lip.
"You know my coworker Cat? She just told me Jake asked her out, but that she'd rather go out with you."
Cam blinked a few times and then burst into laughter, leaning on Bradley while he hooted. "That's such a funny joke!"
"I'm serious! Roo, tell him I'm serious."
"She's serious," Bradley said, sipping his beer and trying not to get involved in this conversation.
"Nobody would pick me over that guy," Cam replied, pointing to Jake. "He's fucking ripped! And his hair is always perfect. And he can do that thing with his mouth and the toothpicks!"
You started laughing and said, "I tried to tell Cat you're nothing special."
"Wow," Cam said, feigning offense, "you're the worst friend ever. Where's Maria?"
"Wait," you said, still laughing while you grabbed his hand. "Just because your repertoire of talents did nothing for me doesn't mean you're not as good as Jake!"
Bradley choked on his beer, remembering what he had overheard you say to Jake. "I'm sorry. What?"
You both turned to look at him, and Cam's cheeks were turning pink.
"The two of you hooked up?" Bradley asked, wondering why this was something he'd only been hearing about recently. Cam slowly backed away from him, suddenly looking like he was afraid Bradley might hit him. And that's when Bradley realized that his tone definitely sounded a little threatening, but he couldn't take it back now.
"It was ten years ago!" Cam quickly supplied, taking a step to his left once he realized he was standing right next to you.
"Didn't I tell you this, Roo?" you asked, still smiling at Bradley as you cocked your head to the side.
"No. Never," he replied, annoyed at himself for being annoyed about this. It clearly didn't matter at all. It had nothing to do with your marriage. But Cam was the same age as you, and in many ways he was probably well suited for you.
"There's literally nothing to tell," Cam insisted.
"Yeah," you agreed. "It didn't mean anything. We were twenty one. It didn't work for either of us, so we stopped what we were doing and decided to just be friends. Because Cam's moves were decidedly terrible at that age."
"God, you're so annoying," Cam told you with a grin. "You think you had moves? You did not. All you had back then was nice tits."
"Jesus," Bradley growled, pinching the bridge of his nose. Because even though this happened ten years ago, suddenly he was wondering about all the details.
"There was no penetration," you said casually.
"No penetration of any kind," Cam confirmed.
"Then what was there?" Bradley asked as you laced your fingers with his.
"Wait, do fingers count?" Cam asked you, scratching his head. "No, fingers don't count, right? Whatever, all I did was feel her up."
"I wasn't good," you added. "Just friends after that."
"Yep," Cam confirmed, giving Bradley some side eye. "She likes big guys. Muscular ones. Mustaches. Which is exactly why nobody who turned down Jake Seresin would say yes to me."
You rolled your eyes and said, "That's so not true."
Bradley wanted all of the details and none of them at the same time as he pulled you a little closer. But then Cam handed you his drink and said, "Really? Watch this."
"Oh no," you muttered, gasping and clinging to Bradley as Cam walked away.
"Sweetheart, why didn't you ever tell me you and Cam messed around? I hate being blindsided by this shit. You hang out with him all the time."
But you weren't listening to him. You weren't even looking at him. Cam was walking confidently over to Cat, and suddenly he was leaning against the bar next to her, occasionally glancing this way. After a moment, Cat looked delighted, and Cam looked completely shocked.
"He asked her out!" you moaned, burying your face against Bradley's chest. "Poor Jake!"
When Bradley's eyes found Jake, he was glaring daggers from the dartboard over toward Cam and Cat. "Oh, shit," he muttered, wrapping his arm a little tighter around you. "This is a fucking disaster."
"It really is," you whispered.
-------------------------
Jake was upset. You could see it on his face. And now Cam looked concerned. When you tried to talk to him, all he said was, "Apparently I have a date on Saturday night."
And before Cat left the bar for the night, she had a smile on her face as she came over to you and Bradley. "Any idea where I might be able to find a good babysitter for Saturday evening?"
"Babysitter?" Bradley asked her, and you couldn't help but see how his expression changed as he asked Cat, "Do you have a kid?"
"Yes," she replied, looking a little surprised. "I thought you would have told your husband. I have a son. He's a year old."
You desperately wanted her date with Cam to suck, and that made you feel like a shitty person all around. So you were suddenly blurting out, "We can watch him." The look on Bradley's face as he registered that he'd get to spend a few hours playing with a one year old, made your heart clench.
"Yeah, you can drop him off with us," he told Cat, and tears stung your eyes. You had cramps. You'd probably get your period right in the middle of the overnight trip tomorrow night. But you just nodded, because even though Cat was going out with Cam instead of Jake, and even though you still weren't pregnant, you knew Bradley would have fun babysitting.
On the ride home, you were starting to get upset as you sobered up a bit more. You didn't want your mood to make you miserable for your night away.
Bradley was pretty quiet until he asked, "Why didn't you tell me about you and Cam?"
"Nothing to tell," you replied softly. It was the truth. You'd harbored a bit of a crush on your friend at first; he was sweet and funny and you had all of your classes with him. You had spent a lot of time together, and you trusted him. And one night, despite both of your best efforts, it just didn't work when you tried to hookup.
"But you spend a lot of time with him now. So what? Your attraction to him just stopped after one night?" Bradley grunted. "You go out to brunch with Cam and Maria all the time for that disgusting avocado toast. Hell, you make me spend so much time with him, I know what kind of pizza he likes and what he orders at the burger shack."
"Oh my god, Bradley. Exactly. He's just my friend! You know what kind of pizza he likes, because I want you to spend time with my friends!"
"But you clearly care about him."
"Bradley! You lived a whole life with other women before we met!"
"I never cared about them! I never loved them! Cam is your friend, and you care about him."
As soon as he parked the Bronco in the driveway, you were unbuckling your seatbelt and crawling into his lap. "What has gotten into you, Roo?" you asked, straddling his thighs and forcing him to look at you. "Cam? You're jealous of Cam in this moment? Knock it the fuck off."
"I'm sorry," he muttered, wrapping his arms around you. "I just didn't like the way I found out about it. Which isn't fair to you at all. Because you're right...about my past. And I know it has to embarrass you sometimes-"
You silenced him with a kiss as you brushed your fingers through his hair. When your forehead came to rest against his, you said, "Don't talk about yourself like that. You want all the details? We did not date. Cam and I ended up in his bed exactly one time. He was hard until I put my hand down his pants. I was excited until he took my bra off. Then we laughed awkwardly, called it quits, and watched a movie with three feet of space between us. So if you can't get onboard with the avocado toast brunches now, I don't even know what to say."
Bradley laughed a little bit. "I love you, and I'm sorry. I've just been... feeling my age recently, Baby Girl."
"What does that mean?" you asked, pressing your lips to his scarred cheek.
He sighed. "Just trying to make sure I can keep up with you and everything you want."
"I want you."
"I know you do," he whispered.
"Then start acting like it, Bradley. Or I'll call you Grandpa instead of Daddy."
He was silent for a beat as you ran your hand down the front of his body. "You wanna go have some Daddy time right now?"
"It's like you can read my mind."
-------------------------
Bradley wore you out on Thursday night, and you were still tired on Friday after work when he drove up the coastal roads to the mysterious hotel he booked for the night. "Will you please tell me where you're taking me?" you asked for the millionth time.
But he just laughed and said, "The funny thing is, I'm not really sure, Sweetheart. It's some crazy hotel called Le Chateau California, and I'm really only taking you there because they have something I think you'll love."
"What is it?" you asked, suddenly even more curious.
"I'm not telling. We'll have to experience it for ourselves," he said, reaching for your bare thigh and stroking your skin.
"Are we there yet?" you whined. "How much further? I want my surprise."
"You're worse than a child," he said with a smile, inching his hand further up under your dress. "We'll be there in twenty minutes. We're having dinner at eight, and you'll see the surprise then."
Bradley was great at teasing you, but this was perhaps his best effort to date. His fingers were just tucked inside your panties, stroking you while you tried to sit patiently, as he pulled up to a colorful boutique hotel on the outskirts of Newport Beach. "What is this place?" you asked him, whining again as he pulled his hand free before the valet could see where it had been.
"Let's go find out," he said with a smirk. When you strolled into the lobby that looked like you'd fallen down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, Bradley wrapped his arm around your waist.
"This is so cool," you gasped, still a little wound up from Bradley's fingers on your pussy.
You were looking up at him with barely concealed lust. He had both overnight bags slung over his left shoulder like it was nothing. And when the woman at the concierge desk asked for the last name on the reservation, your core clenched as he rasped, "The Bradshaws."
As he handed over his credit card, you whimpered softly. His wide brown eyes were on yours as you pressed your lips together. Then he was smiling, but he didn't pick up the pace like you wanted him to. He asked the woman where the restaurant was located. He listened to her tell him more about the history of the hotel. He asked her another question as she handed over the room keys. He forced your hand.
"Please?" you whispered, pressing yourself to his side.
When he finally led you across the technicolor lobby toward the purple elevators, he pushed the up arrow and said, "We have dinner in twenty minutes."
You nearly wanted to stomp your foot. "You can fuck me in less time than that."
"You told me I'm never fast," he replied as the doors slid open. "So, probably not, Baby Girl."
"Bradley!" you screeched as soon as you and he were alone in the elevator. "I won't make it through dinner and you know it!"
He kissed your lips so softly before the elevator stopped on your floor. "I love it when you get like this," he said as you tripped down the hallway next to him. "Go in and get ready for me." He handed you one of the keys, and you ran down the hallway that looked like a multicolored fever dream, barely taking the time to enjoy any of it.
The hotel room was colorful and spacious with a king bed and a Juliet balcony. There was a view of the beach and some champagne in an ice bucket. But all you were concerned about was getting your underwear off and getting on the bed.
Bradley strolled in and set the bags down before adjusting the thermostat. He tossed his sunglasses on the nightstand and combed his fingers through his hair before turning to watch you where you were laying on the bed with your dress pulled up to your waist. "Get on your knees," he rasped, and you did as you were told. Then his hands and lips were all over your butt and thighs before tasting you from behind.
"Bradley!" you gasped. You'd never get used to how good it felt to have him surprise you there with his mustache. And then you heard him unzip his jeans before wrapping one muscular arm around you and fucking you hard. You rocked forward onto your hands as he slammed into you.
"You're so impatient," he grunted. "Can't even make it to dinner and to your surprise unless you're full of my cum."
It was going to be embarrassing how quickly you came for him when he was dishing out the smug dirty talk. But when his fingers stroked you in time with his thrusts, you smiled and bit your lip. The colorful bedding and walls around the room made you feel a little dizzy, but nothing compared to the sensation when Bradley hit just the right spot inside you and gently spanked your clit.
"Fuck!" you squealed, clenching so hard he groaned your name.
"Shit, Baby Girl," he growled, filling you up with his cum. But you were already there, face planted in the pillows to keep yourself quiet as you came. When you picked your head up a few inches and turned to look back at him while he was still inside you, he rubbed one big palm along your butt. "Sorry I finished so fast. You look pretty with your ass in the air," he whispered.
You pushed yourself up on shaky arms. "And you look pretty with your cock inside me."
He chuckled and withdrew himself, and then he ran his fingers along your pussy like he was massaging his cum back inside you. "I'm not ovulating anymore, Roo," you reminded him. He could cum inside you all weekend and it wouldn't make a difference.
"Doesn't matter," he whispered, leaning down to kiss your butt, thighs and pussy once more. "It's not going to make me want to stop giving you creampies all the time." You sighed softly as he finally stood, and you watched him walk around the bed with his cock hanging out of his jeans. "It's almost time for our dinner reservation," he reminded you as he walked into the bathroom.
You rolled onto your back, legs clenched together as his mess coated your thighs. While you listened to him wash his hands, you closed your eyes and wished desperately that you were pregnant. You thought about everything that would change for you if you were, and you knew you'd be ready for it.
"Coming?" he asked, reaching out for your hand. Bradley pulled you to your feet and helped you back into your underwear, looking up at you and shaking his head at the sight of his cum everywhere. He wasn't old. It blew your mind that he sometimes thought he was. He was better and sexier and stronger than anyone younger. He was everything you wanted.
"Let's go."
----------------------------
Bradley spent almost seven hundred dollars for the hotel room for the night. It was another fifty bucks to valet the Bronco, and the prices on the dinner menu in the swanky restaurant were so high, he thought they must be joking. But he wanted you to have whatever you wanted, so he ordered a twenty dollar beer so you would, too. And he ordered exactly what he wanted to eat so you would, too.
He'd tapped out his savings when he bought the craftsman for the two of you, including the money his mom left for him. But he'd been working on building up his savings again. The dream of making one of the bedrooms a nursery sometime in the near future was clawing away at his mind. He thought about it a lot: colorful airplanes and clouds on the walls and a crib with a sweet baby that had his hair and your eyes.
His attention was drawn back to the present as soon as the waiter returned with your beers and a platter of bread and fruit. The colorful overhead light was reflecting blue, green and orange onto your pretty face as you glanced up with a look of wonder at the waiter. Because he was now saying the words Bradley had been waiting weeks for you to hear. It was the reason he wanted to book a room as soon as he heard about this hotel.
"While you wait for your entrees, feel free to walk around and explore our wall of condiments from around the world, our champagne waterfall, and our hot sauce vending machine."
You lurched in your seat. "Did you say hot sauce vending machine?!"
"Yes," the waiter replied with a smile, nodding to the far end of the restaurant. "Have fun."
"Bradley!" you shrieked. "They have a hot sauce vending machine!"
He grinned as you pulled him to his feet. "I know, Baby Girl. That's why I brought you here."
You wrapped your hands around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss that was better suited for the bedroom, but Bradley didn't care that there was a couple trying to eat at the next table. You were happy right now when there were times recently that you clearly hadn't been, so they'd just have to deal.
Bradley eventually led you to the vending machine which was enormous and filled with tiny bottles of hundreds of different kinds of sauces. You stood before it in the colorful wonderland of a restaurant, analyzing each one like this was the most important work assignment of your career.
"That's one's from Japan," you mused out loud, pointing to a green bottle. "I've always wanted to try it. Oh, and that one is made in Maryland! We need to get that one."
"Pick as many as you want, Sweetheart. They come with the meal." You actually jumped up and down and clapped your hands as you pushed the buttons to select twenty two different hot sauces, loading Bradley's arms up with the little bottles one at a time.
Then you stopped at the champagne fountain and got two glasses to take back as well. The waiter brought your dinners and some extra plates for all of the hot sauces, and you lined them up across the table. "I think I'm in heaven," you said, dipping your fork into a sauce and tasting it.
Bradley watched you enjoy the flavor before dipping the fork again and holding it out to him. Your smile and the expectant look on your face as he tasted it made him happy, too. "I know I'm in heaven."

Rejection
“Hey Eddie, who’s that?” Buck asks, pointing a finger. He watches Chimney and Hen laugh with a woman Buck has never seen before. Eddie looks up with an eyebrow raised, looking at the direction that Buck is pointing. “Oh, that’s Y/n. She came in yesterday when you were off shift. She’s doing an externship with Hen and Chim before her paramedic exam, I think.” Buck’s eyes have yet to leave Y/n and Eddie notices. Eddie lets out a breathy laugh. “You’re going to burn holes in that girl if you keep staring, Buckley.” When he doesn’t stop, Eddie bumps Buck's shoulder. “She’s beautiful.” Buck gets up to talk to her but groans when the bell begins to ring. Eddie gets up finishing his last bite of food. He taps Buck’s back. “At least you get to see her in action soon.” Eddie rushes off to get his gear on. Buck watches for a minute as Y/n grabs things for the ambulance and then hops in. “Come on Buck!” Cap yells out putting Buck back in reality. He rushes to get ready.
The scene was cold and bloody with a few missing fingers in between. A few ice skaters had a collision after one of the skaters lost balance. Y/n felt like she was on cloud nine because of how much praise she was receiving from both Hen and Chimney. She had just finished wrapping the second to last person when she saw a guy slipping across the ice. Y/n giggles slightly as he struggles to catch himself. “Hey Hen, Chim? Who’s that?” She asks still looking at the handsome man as he finally stands up straight. They both look up to see who she’s looking at. “That’s Evan Buckley. But everyone calls him Buck.” Hen answers first. Chim looks at the way Y/n is looking at Buck. He bumps Hen’s shoulder as she fixes up the last person for transport. Hen looks up seeing where Y/n’s eyes are. “Oh no. Don’t tell me,” Y/n looks over, worried that something happened with the patient when there’s nothing she’s confused. “We know that look. That’s all.” Y/n is even more confused by Chim’s statement. “You’re making googly eyes kid.” Y/n shakes her head. “I am not! But a separate question, not that I care at all, is he single?” Chim and Hen laugh at her statement as they walk with the gurney, taking their last patient to the ambulance. When they get them settled and have the doors closed, they turn to Y/n. “Y/n we’re going to warn you for both you and Buck. Buck is or was a bit of a player. He’s tried the long-term thing and to put it simply it hasn’t worked out. I know your externship is only for a few months and you’re going to go off to who knows where. I just don’t want either of you getting hurt.” Y/n nods her head in thought, the other two walk forward. Behind her, Buck runs up to her. “Hey.” Y/n looks to her side and notices the handsome firefighter. She smiles slightly and nods her head. “Y/n right? Nice to meet you, I’m Buck.” Buck puts his hand out for her to shake. She accepts his handshake. “Nice to meet you, too, Buck.” Buck grins at the mention of his name, he loves it way it sounds. “Planning to be a paramedic, huh? From what I’m seeing you’re a natural.” Y/n smiles and nods. “Well if you ever wanna talk about the job over coffee…” Buck pauses looking at Y/n for a response. “Maybe some other time,” She smiles and makes her way onto the van with Hen. “Catch you later.” She says with a wave. Buck frowns disappointed, he grins when he remembers she said some other time.
It had been a month and a half since Y/n started her internship and a few minutes since Buck last flirted with her. Ever since the warning from Hen and Chim, Y/n did her best to ignore Buck’s constant flirting and to try to push down the feelings that she had for him. Everyone found her rejection funny even Cap. There was even a drinking game that the others, each person taking a shot every time Y/n rejected Buck  (besides Cap who played with shots of water). The game was usually cut short because it would happen 5 times in a minute. Y/n couldn’t help but admire Buck’s commitment. Buck grew to like Y/n for more than just her looks over the past weeks. It was her determination to do the job, her kindness to everyone around her, and the empathy she showed, she even had Chris wrapped around her finger, even if Y/n was for sure to say it was the other way around. He watched her and Chris currently at the cookout that Cap was holding. Y/n’s face lit up as soon as he came over to her. Buck had no idea what they were talking about but it had Chris laughing. “She’s really good with him,” Eddie said walking up to Buck. “Yeah she is,” He said without his eyes leaving her form. Suddenly Chris gives his best subtle thumbs up to Buck and Buck returns it. And Y/n definitely misses the exchange but Eddie doesn’t. “Please don’t tell me you’re using my kid for your flirting.” Buck smiles as Eddie groans. “I am not using your kid for my flirting.” Eddie shakes his head.
“What do you think about my Uncle Buck?” Chris asks randomly. Y/n laughs and pulls the boy closer tickling his sides. “Are you scheming for your Uncle Buck?” Chris laughs. “Maybe.” Y/n tickles a bit more. “Okay! Okay! He bribed me to ask. He said he’d give me 10 bucks!” Y/n releases him with a smile. “You’re supposed to be on my side Chrissy.” Chris looks serious for a moment. “You should go on a date Y/n/n. He’s really nice! And he saves people like you! You have a lot in common!” She gives Chris a small smile. “We’ll see Chris,” Y/n says. Chris gets up quickly and makes his way over to Buck. “Buck! Buck!” Buck picks Chris up by his legs. “What’s up, buddy? Did you complete your mission?” Buck says with a smile. Chris nods his head. “She said ‘We’ll see.” Buck turns his head towards Y/n for confirmation. “We need to talk first,” Y/n says to Buck. “Outside?” Y/n nods her head as he puts Chris down. “Wanna take a walk around the block?” Buck asks and Y/n confirms as Buck grabs his jacket.
The sun was slowly starting to set when they got outside. There were a few minutes of silence. “So…” They both say at the same time. They laugh. “You go first.” Buck motions. “When I first got here Hen and Chimeny told me something about you.” Buck raises an eyebrow. “What did they tell you?” Y/n looks up at the sky. “Don’t tell them I told you, but they said that you hadn’t had anything serious for a long time and you’re a bit of a player.” Buck wipes a hand over his face groaning. “I’m not really a short-term girl and I didn’t want to try anything if I was going to go to a further station. I wanted to wait to ask you what you were looking for after I got the confirmed assignment.” Buck pauses looking at her. “I guess you got your assignment back?” Y/n nods with a smile, “Cap informed me today that I will be staying with 118. Don’t tell Hen I told you first. I was supposed to tell her.” Buck grins congratulating her. “Thank you, but that means that it’s time for my question. What are you looking for here? I don’t want to be just one of your conquests or something. I like you and I don’t want to get hurt-” Buck cuts her off, “You like me?” Y/n nods sheepishly. “I like you too. And I don’t want something short with you Y/n. The player thing was from a while ago and even then since I met you, I haven’t been with another woman. I can’t even if I wanted to, you’re all that’s on my mind Y/n. I wouldn’t embarrassingly get rejected all the time if I didn’t want something with you.” Buck stands right in front of Y/n now. They’re close, only breathe apart. “You wanna try?” Buck nods, “I wanna try.” Y/n then breaks the gap between them and pushes her lips against his. They fit perfectly against each other. It is slow and sweet like no kiss either has ever had before. They release. “Remind me to give Chris $1,000.” Y/n laughs. “Me too.”

luxiem + ren, doppi and kyo reacting to a new kouhai whos model is Arlecchino from GI but she just ends up being the softest, sweetest and most innocent girl ever
lyra's notes -> another reader gender change but ouggghh arle...once she comes out i might retire my dps qiqi...(i havent seen any leaks abt her kit but arle is hot so im sorry qiiq)
pairings -> luxiem + ren zotto, doppio dropscythe, kyo kaneko x gn! reader
genre -> scenario, fluffy, a tiny bit of crack
song -> sorry i got nothing for this one
warnings -> a tiny bit of pining
Tumblr media
VOX AKUMA ->
he thinks it's so funny, like he laughed so hard when he heard your voice for the first time. and he thinks your voice is adorable too! from your model and channel's theme alone, one would assume you're the mean and intimidating type. but nope, you're a total sweetheart and vox adores that. you're pretty innocent too, so some of his pick up lines will go right over your head and it's ADORABLE when he sees you get confused about some of the things he says.
MYSTA RIAS ->
he tries his best not to laugh when you say especially sweet and innocent things. he really tries but it's adorable and hilarious. your model is so intimidating and a little scary looking, but as soon as you start talking, that facade melts and shows how much of a sweetheart you are! especially in collab streams before everyone knows you super well, it's adorable to hear your sweet voice in contrast to your intimidating model.
LUCA KANESHIRO ->
he’s supposed to be intimidating too, so the both of you together is plain adorable! people will draw your models together and it will look so scary but when you’re collabing together, it’s just a wholesome fest most of the time! we know he definitely will have a soft spot for you and collabs with you a lot because he just thinks you’re so cute and he can’t get enough of you!
IKE EVELAND ->
what. bro is so confused by you sometimes. yes you’re adorable but sometimes he just gets so confused by your intimidating model contrasting your sweet and innocent nature. ike is somewhat put off by it at first, but he eventually starts to warm up to it and finds your personality just as cute as the others do! even if it’s hilarious to see your model’s sharp and scary eyes light up when you get excited about something.
SHU YAMINO ->
he’s got a bit of an intimidating model too, so it’s more than funny to see your wholesome and sometimes flirty interactions. you’re both some of the softest and most wholesome in en, so it’s just heaven for you to be collabing with him. the first time he saw your model, he was really convinced you were going to be the scary type but your voice ruined that image. he is so smitten with your cute personality and voice too <3
DOPPIO DROPSCYTHE ->
essentially just like shu, except piochan is much more weird than wholesome. one would come to expect a certain level of silliness in him that he happens to bring out in you despite your soft and sweet personality. it’s strange really, the way you and him can communicate in a language only the two of you understand.
REN ZOTTO ->
it’s becoming increasingly hard to make these unique but here we go. ren fits his model pretty well, so seeing you have such a misleading model that reveals your adorable and soft personality is just so funny to everyone including him. for more please infer back to ike’s part because i’m exhausted sorry.
KYO KANEKO ->
he has the same sort of thing in a way, except he’s a cute model with an utterly unhinged personality. as soon as he befriends you, his streams become even funnier because he’ll often be by your side to disorient viewers who were expecting you to act like how your models portrayed you. nope. enjoy your vtuber fame tho you deserve it for being so cute :p

Cherrisnake??? 🥺🥺🥺🥺💕💕💕💕💕 Tell me more
SORRY THIS TOOK ME SO LONG my brain short circuited and I couldn't fathom this ask lol
EVEN MORE CHERRISNAKE HCS <3
Forgive me if some of these are repeats, I dont remember what I did on the first two lists LOLOL also I am gonna do a few with my Pentious fan kid Adelaide, but I'll indicate where that starts
Snuggle bug. Pentious craves physical touch and comfort CONSTANTLY, which Cherri enjoys giving.
If you put them in a room together and lock the door there is a good 80% chance they will find out how to make a bomb out of carpet fuzz and drywall
They are big on PDA, but they- and everyone really- dont really notice it. They love giving quick kisses to each other, Cherri often finds her seat all cuddled up in Pentious's lap. It is a normal thing at the hotel, no one thinks much of it.
Cherri isn't interested in getting redeemed, which is something that Pentious 100% respects. They make it work
Pentious tried to propose but dropped the ring like 5 times. Cherri even handed it back to him once (he didn't realize)
Adhd couple
Their ideal date night is getting drunk off their asses and blowing up the Vee district
Pen is far from being a virgin, but he fumbles around in bed like one. Cherri finds it HILARIOUS
Pentious goes to Husk for relationship advice, and so does Cherri. Husk gets ALLLLLL the drama.
Cherri likes sweet/sugary stuff but Pen doesn't- pen has made jokes like "I'll have to break up with you, it just won't work. we are enemies 😔"
Sense their eras are so far apart, they love to teach each other about their time
Pentious, due to growing up in thr 1800s, didn't get a great education. He is great with building and stuff, but he doesn't know how to write or read very well. Cherri teaches him, and writing is one of his favorite things now.
Pen fell first. That man was smitten from day one. It took cherri a good 4 decades to realize her feelings
Adelaide stuff starts here! (Little bit of info: they are pents kids who were angels and he reunited with them in heaven. Adelaide is 3. She has a brother named Arthur, but I won't be including hcs about him, because he is not my character! His creator is @/emositecc, go to their page of you wanna learn about him!)
Cherri loves Pents kids SO. MUCH. She loves being a mother figure to them
Cherri is closest with Adelaide but she loves them both so so much
Adelaide CAN talk, but she is preferably non-verbal! The only time Cherri has ever heard her talk was when she called her "mama" once (cherri cried)
They were both in Pent and Cherris wedding
I do hc requests!

Ik it's probably been done a million times, but (if you're still taking prompts) I'd love to see your thoughts on the flyboys and/or the daggers finding out that IceMav are together. Like, a lot of the times it's portrayed that all the flyboys knew before IceMav told them, but what if they didn't? What if they were actually FANTASTIC at hiding that they're in a full-on, committed relationship? Or on the opposite end, all the Daggers suspecting IceMav are together, and finally getting confirmation, but in some hilarious way, like walking in on the two mid-makeout session?
As much as Bradley likes to make fun of his Uncles, they're smart and competent men who achieved great things. Sure, Mav may be a reckless idiot sometimes, but he didn't get where he is by being actually stupid. Iceman is a whole new level of brilliant, perfectly controlled and only showing what he wants to show.
They managed to keep their relationship secret from the Navy for years and years, and Bradley is yet to get out of them exactly how much time it took the class of '89 to figure out they're together.
Point is, Iceman and Maverick are good at hiding their relationship, passing their affections as close friendship and long years of knowing each other. They're subtle but smitten, and Bradley's heart skips a beat whenever he sees their smiles. It's cute, as much as two decorated Naval aviators can be cute.
He's reveling in the fact that he's the only one to really know, to see them being silly and in love. Ever since he and Mav reconciled, Bradley has been a frequent guest at their house, and he got to see that their love never weakened. Still, they only for better at hiding (probably out of habit).
This is why Hangman’s teasing remark comes as such a surprise.
They're discussing their plans for the weekend after a whole week of being cooped up doing paperwork. Bradley is ready to tear his hair out, and his friends aren't doing much better. The only one who seems unaffected is Hangman, but Rooster is used to it by now - the blonde is almost annoyingly cool and level-headed at all times.
"What are your plans, old man? Risking your life on a bike instead of a plane?" Payback teases, getting an elbow in the side from Fanboy.
Maverick finishes his beer and stands up with a smile. "Nah, I'm staying inside. An old friend is coming to visit, so no strenuous activities for me this weekend."
It's only because Rooster is so (unfortunately) attituned to Hangman that he hears what the man mutters under his breath.
"Oh, so getting railed by your hunky blonde lover ain't strenuous? I see how it is."
Bradley chokes on his drink, and Mav shoots him a concerned look before finally walking away after Rooster shakes his head. As soon as he calms down, he turns fo glare at Hangman.
"What did you say?" he hisses.
Hangman raises a slow eyebrow. "That...getting railed can be a strenuous activity? If you never took a lover that's on you, Roo, but my partners were always left exhausted."
He forcibly removes all thoughts of Hangman taking a lover (taking him maybe, all golden skin and sharp grins, strong hands on Rooster’s hips-). That's not the point now.
"How- No, I mean, how did you- Hunky?" Rooster ends up squealing. Other Daggers, the traitors, just look on in amusement.
"I mean, I'm not into older blondes but I have eyes, and Kazansky's still got it," Hangman drawls with a smirk. "He was a serious hunk in his younger years, I don't blame Mav."
"No kidding," Fanboy chimes in. "Even the frosted tips were hot, it's unfair."
"He was pretty climable," Coyote agrees. "And they gave that whole opposites attract going on."
Rooster listens as his friends talk about how hot Uncle Ice, the actual Admiral Kazansky used to be, and just tries to understand how he ended up here. Years, decades even without anyone realizing, only for the Daggers to click it immediately.
"Roo, you good?" Hangman asks suddenly, a warm hand on his shoulder snapping Bradley out of it. "Don't tell me you haven't realized. You fucking lived with them, for fuck's sake!"
Rooster takes offense. "Of course I realized! But no one ever did, so how did you-"
"Honestly, Bradshaw," the blonde mutters. "I have a pair of eyes and a working gaydar, it's not like it's hard."
"They're not being super subtle," Payback agrees. "But it's sorta cute."
"They've been going for decades, I bet, and they're still this disgusting," Hangman chuckles. "Makes you hope, ey?"
Rooster locks his gaze with Hangman's, and them immediately looks away when he feels himself blush. There's heavy implication in the man's voice, and he's not sure what to do with it yet. For now, he's too busy wondering if his uncles and the Navy are just that blind and stupid, or are the Daggers that observant and smart.
Neither option is attractive to consider.
Curiously enough, the Daggers don't bring it up with Maverick, but now that he's looking, Rooster can see their smirks and eye rolls whenever Mav smiles at his phone or blushes. Slowly, he has to admit defeat - maybe Mav and Ice aren't being as sneaky as they used to be.
It all comes to a head a few weeks later, when Mav invites them over for barbecue. Iceman isn't due to be back until Wednesday, and Rooster knows that Mav is feeling a bit lonely, which is why they're invited. The older pilot even invites them to an actual house, instead of the hangar, and Rooster had to admit it's not very subtle.
"Damn, this is nice," Payback whistles looking at the huge house. "Must be nice, being a kept man."
Phoenix elbows him in the side, but doesn't deny. "Well, the Admiral sure makes good money."
Rooster rolls his eyes, leading them to the door. He knows it's going to be open because Mav always keeps it open when he invites him over, and so he confidently walks in, the Daggers following after him. He's just about to call out for the older pilot, when a loud moan sounds in the house.
They all freeze.
Then, Hangman smirks like a cat that got the cream and firmly turns around. "Trust me, folks, you don't wanna take a glance at the couch," he whispers. He was the one closest to the entrance of the living room, and the only one with a good view. "I dunno about you, but I don't need to see our Captain getting his back blown out."
That breaks the tension and they spill outside, sniffling their laughter and leaning against each other. Rooster has experience with this, having caught his guardians foing at it multiple times, but it's much funnier with friends.
"My gaydar is never wrong," Hangman announces when they calm down. "Good for them, honestly."
"What, you also wanna rail a mouthy brunette into a couch?" Coyote asks with a shit-eating smirk, throwing an arm around Jake's shoulders.
The blonde shrugs and his eyes meet Rooster’s again.
"If he's willing."
When Maverick finally opens the door with a sheepish smile, Rooster ducks inside immediately if only to hide his furious blush. Hangman's laughter follows him through, and he almost walks into Iceman.
"Hi, Admiral, please say you disinfected the couch," Hangman says immediately, respectful but cheeky. "Or do we have to avoid it?"
Iceman is silent for a long while, before he bursts out laughing. He turns to his blushing husband and smirks.
"Mav, you didn't tell me your Daggers were worse than you."
It's a nice evening. They did disinfect the couch.

Hey people who definitely didn’t follow me for my AUs here’s another AU I thought up on the spot!!!
Fantasy/Royalty AU bam lets get into it
Julia and Bowie are the princess and prince of the kingdom, as you do, it’s gay and lesbian hostility in that castle every day
Axel, Wayne, Raj and Emma are knights with Axel being the head of the knights, Emma is also secretly a florist because why not
Priya is the head of the guards while Caleb is the personal guard/advisor to the king
Chase is a travelling bard who loves to talk about his ‘amazing’ adventures of ‘helping’ people
Nichelle is still a famous actress but instead of movies she’s like, famous from plays and all that jazz
Ripper’s a barbarian that’s pretty good at his job, unfortunately he is not taken very seriously
Millie is a famous writer but she’s so damn difficult to find at times and only a few people know where she actually lives
Damien is a wizard’s apprentice, he’s still learning but he’s got some real talent within him
Zee is the court jester, he didn’t even like try out for the role he just started talking one time and the king thought he was hilarious
Scary Girl is a famous necromancer because she is, funnily enough, scarily good at her job
And MK, silly ol’ MK, is a master thief who is wanted all over the world, but can never be located, always managing to escape at the last moment
Alright here’s some more details yippee
Raj and Bowie are like, in love, obviously, knight x prince romance! Forbidden love that isn’t really forbidden but like it’s super cute and Raj is so smitten and Bowie just loves this handsome knight that would do anything for him
Wayne and Emma are friends here because I also think they’re silly, Wayne’s the only one who knows Emma’s secret florist job because she trusts him enough and also he accidentally found out but it’s fine!! But he also nearly gives away Emma’s secret so many damn times because he’s just a little bit stupid
‘Man I wish I could get Bowie a nice bouquet…’
‘Oh well Emma is actually a fl-‘
And then Wayne gets elbowed so hard he can’t breath for 2 minutes
Emma also definitely has a thing for the cute court jester but she has no idea on how to actually approach Zee so she just sends him flowers anonymously and sighs while looking at him lovingly
Julia and MK meet because MK climbs up the damn castle walls at 2am and sneaks into Julia’s room just to rob her, gets absolutely slammed by the princess, wakes up and is tied to a damn chair with Julia right up in her face about to rip her to shreds and all MK can say is ‘you are REALLY attractive oh my gods’
This throws Julia off, they start talking, Julia realises that despite the fact she is holding one of the most wanted criminals hostage in her room, she wants to keep seeing MK because she’s entertaining and mean and just slightly pathetic, so she lets MK go on the promise that the thief will come back every night and so she does and yadda yadda lesbians toxic yuri wins
Millie’s stories actually come to life because shocker she’s actually a wizard in disguise and she needs to be really careful about what she writes so that’s why she hides herself away and is so hard to track down because if the wrong people knew about her magic capabilities oh no that’s a lot of blood and injury and angst and 10k words every chapter
Millie’s parents also had this ability to create anything from mere writing, they shared this ability with the kingdom, and so if an important figure asked them to say…make a protector of the kingdom, they would do so, and they did, and that’s where our villain/antagonist comes in but that’s a story for another day
The older gens are also involved in this one way or another as well, most are just backgrounders but some hold important to the story
Damien is the wizard apprentice to Leonard and Tammy, two great and powerful sages who spend their time helping the world
DJ is the one who taught Emma how to be a florist, he’s kind and understanding and always helps Emma choose the right flowers to give to Zee
Eva trains Ripper under her watchful eye, she’s proud of how far he’s come, but feels he can do just a bit more
Aleheather are the king and queen of the kingdom, Bowie and Julia are their adopted children
And that’s all I got for now uhhhh add whatever you want to this it’s just a silly time

Am mostly the type to like shy x confident dynamic couples, so how about going with that? All of them.
Also is there any rules we must follow? Because it's not pinned
Alright, here we go again!! No rules though except absolutely NO NSFW, because they're minors!!
RISE! Donnie x Reader (Confident x Shy trope)
Tumblr media
Donnie definitely was confident to the point of bragging about his smarts, but that's beside the point. Although his brothers would get annoyed when he would info dump about his smarts and shows, his s/o certainly didn't.
His s/o loved hearing him rant about new inventions to make, and often helped him, when his s/o lost her cat, Penelope, he created a device that helped find her.
She also knew when he didn't like to be touched, especially with shells, because they made boundaries when first starting out the relationship but would often help out when he was overstimulated.
However, whenever he flirted with her, the way she got flustered, automatically made him flirt with her even more, honestly it was shocking, but also hilarious to his brothers on his skill level with his s/o. It was even more shocking when they got together, they did keep it under wraps for like a year until they revealed they were dating.
RISE! Michelangelo x Reader (Confident x Shy Trope)
Tumblr media
Michelangelo, unlike Donatello, was confident when it came to art and cooking, and his s/o was often his guinea pig with his cooking, because she was a major foodie. He quickly learned that the day they met.
However, she was not confident in the kitchen, and just like Leo, was God awful at cooking, he learned that through her burning soup on one of his pots, though she was crafty when it came to arts and crafts and often gave him new ideas for murals.
She was so shy though, to the point that she didn't talk to him for weeks on end after they met, not because she was scared, but because she was absolutely smitten for him, she was like a cat that only warmed up to one person. And that was Michelangelo.
But when her chaotic side came out... let's just say both she and Mikey were unhinged. Especially with "Dr. Delicate Touch"
RISE! Raph x Reader (Confident x Shy Trope)
Tumblr media
Raph honestly is a big teddy bear, I mean his size is so big, he stands at a whopping six feet tall, and that was just so intimidating to his s/o. However, she's his number one supporter, especially with the band, they had that one time!
Raph, even though he's a big teddy bear, was so oblivious to the fact that his s/o was smitten towards him, he was like a magnet, though when he did find out, they honestly fit together like glue. He was more outgoing than she was though, so honestly it was beneficial for the both of them when it came to meeting the family.
Raph did bring out her more courageous side, especially when it came to standing up for what's right and to people who treated her like a doormat. And surprisingly enough, her cat loves him! And he was used to cats trying to scratch his face off.
He's so helpful towards her, and plans the most perfect dates, that sometimes included his cat, that's also a date where it's not one she would hate, like walking on the docs, he learned that through her poor body coordination, but that's a different story.

imagine the Voices and Princesses playing among us. Paranoid would try to play but he'd get too freaked out while Big Brain-ing things and the others would have to be like, "I promise it's not that serious. maybe you should sit this one out"
the Beast as an imposter. the Beast as an imposter. none of them would know what hit them. she also likes to follow people around to make them nervous even if she's not imposter.
Contrarian is so down to third imposter it's insane. (if you don't know what third imposter-ing is, it's when a regular crewmate decides to go along with the imposters and defend them for shits and giggles.) also quick to throw whoever's making an accusation under the bus.
Hero, of course, is a truth seeker, and if he gets imposter he's so anxious it's hilarious.
Cold is also super down for third impostering, or, offering the imposter the chance to kill him.
Hunted always wants to use the buddy system. sus of everyone at every point. slinks around the map by himself, nervous in large groups. is the one to say "nonono!" when someone enters the room while he's in the middle of a task.
Smitten is always dedicated to Damsel, whether she's imposter or not, whether she wants to kill him or not. ...god, Damsel would be bad at imposter-ing. Smitten admires when the others say that they've been together all round, so they can attest to each other's innocence. could they both be imposter? who cares! the romance of it all! it's just the two of them against the world!
Princess trusts no bitch. only rarely offers to buddy up with someone. cold blooded when it comes to voting off someone that she thinks is imposter. mischievous when she's imposter, always speaking to someone or having a friendly conversation with them before killing them. careful when deciding to let someone live while they're alone with her, for a future voucher of her innocence.
sdfgjlk I don't know if Broken could do it. he'd offer himself to be voted out as imposter if things got heated. just accepts his fate every time he finds himself alone with someone else. he gets imposter? I think he'd just give up and couldn't bring himself to kill anyone. if he did, he'd beat himself up over it.
Adversary is so bright and snarky with anyone who says she's sus. likes to taunt and insult the others whether she's imposter or not.
Specter dies first sdfgjlk. jk, mostly. also sus of everyone, but more deadpan snarky about it. also surprisingly down to third imposter. she just wants to watch the world burn.
Tower is the Leader. she always declares in meetings who she thinks is sus and who she thinks is innocent. people tend to go along with her ideas. goes up to 1-2 people alone in a room and asks them what they're doing. a ruthless imposter.
again, Damsel. I just think she'd be a disaster as imposter. either that, or she's a quiet one; the last person you'd suspect before she kills you in cold blood. tends to partner up with Smitten, sometimes with a third person as well, and go along with whoever they're voting for or whoever they sus out.
Wraith is sharp-tongued, throwing anyone who she perceives to have been rude or betrayed her in a past round under the bus. has a soft spot for Damsel. waits for the middle/end of a full conversation with someone before fucking slaughtering them.

Alright, here's The Slaying Games Round 2...
Okay, so for some reason I was having a lot of problems with taking screenshots so some of these are going to look weird.
Tumblr media
In addition, I fixed some of the names. Contrarian and Opportunist no longer have the weird no spaces due to different format and LQ's nickname is now The Slayer.
Now, let's begin!
(also yes, warnings for everything you can expect to see in STP and Hunger Games)
Tumblr media
So we start with one of the least eventful Bloodbaths I've ever seen, nothing very interesting happening here, but then...
Tumblr media
RIGHT AFTER THAT
We get one of the most chaotic days I've ever seen. I don't even know where to start here. Hilariously out of character moments, badass moments, someone thinking it's a good idea to give The Beast and The Damsel explosives, Cold having no fucking chill... this day is spectacular. Way more than makes up for the lackluster Bloodbath.
And despite that, only four deaths.
Tumblr media
I feel like she'd do this if she could.
Tumblr media
This is just what having a cat is like.
Tumblr media
And Adversary deciding to use Cheated as her outlet for sadomasochism, who is understandably disturbed.
Tumblr media
...that can't be a pleasant image.
Tumblr media
Hunted
It's
It's day 2
How did you
What
Tumblr media
Okay, Hero, I know you find Broken annoying and concerning, but...
Tumblr media
He tried seeing what Stubborn and Adversary's relationship was like with Damsel but stopped because he didn't want to hurt her any more.
Tumblr media
Why do I imagine the "trident" is her hand?
Tumblr media
I know a few of my followers are Paracold shippers so here you go. Take this fic fuel.
Tumblr media
I'm guessing he didn't take losing Adversary well...
Tumblr media
Goddamnit Beast, stop eating the scared bois.
Tumblr media
This is the legit funniest death I've ever gotten
Tumblr media
Cold being ruthless as always.
Tumblr media
Okay but this would never happen lmao
Tumblr media
Now THAT'S an interesting pair for a conversation
Tumblr media
this game is a fever dream
Tumblr media
see, even she's confused
Tumblr media
Finally, something somewhat in-character today!
Tumblr media
how do we tell him
Tumblr media
i'm surprised The Beast was the one to retreat here...
Tumblr media
i don't even know what's going on anymore. at least Stubborn's bit makes sense.
Tumblr media
huh. normally, there's more death with this event.
Tumblr media
there we go! much better! also, holy shit, don't fuck with Smitten!
Tumblr media
H O W
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the game's winner is Stranger! Guess two heads really are better than one! And she has five!
And that's that for this game!

im just imagining ted trying to mess with pete and tickle him only for pete to rebel for the first time and discover how ticklish ted really is ‼️
KDVAMSVFKSV ABSO FUCKIN’ LUTELY!!! While they did have a ton of tickle fights growing up, the large age gap meant Ted always had the upper hand, & he was a bastard even back then so he never let Pete win unless he EARNED it, which was basically never
So what I’m saying is yeah Peter knows Ted’s ticklish to some degree, but always had the tables turned on him before he could get any proper revenge
Fast forward to when Peter’s in high school, & Ted starts hanging around more. He’s hit his growth spurt & is now just as tall as his older brother, & the idea of revenge has crossed his mind, but he is not too keen on being on the receiving end of Ted’s mischief
Ted has really missed annoying Peter & remembers how damn ticklish that kid is & can’t help himself! He traps him in a headlock & tickles his ribs & armpit with his free hand until he gets bored & lets him go
& of course he doesn’t expect any retaliation, I mean, why should he? He’s never been able to get him back before, so why should now be any different?
But then he feels a hand on his shoulder & is spun around & Peter’s looking at him with fire in his eyes & goes “payback’s a bitch” & before he can even question him he’s cackling
He’s been waiting forever for this opportunity & wastes no time in finding all the spots he remembers working back when they were kids (it helps that they share similar tickle spots)
Ted CANNOT take what he dishes out & is flailing around begging for mercy & Peter’s just like “tough shit, I don’t recall getting any mercy when I asked for it!”
He doesn’t stop until Ted is wheezing & literally taps out & then he’s so damn smug for the rest of the day & now Ted has to watch out for random tickle attacks when he least expects it
Finally gets a taste of his own damn medicine, no one feels sorry for him
Ok but imagine Ted has the office crew over for a lil get together, maybe a superbowl party or something & Peter decides to wreck him in front of his friends just like how he likes to do to him!
They all think it’s hilarious & join in on the teasing & encourage Pete from the sidelines & meanwhile Charlotte is absolutely smitten
Paul & Bill can’t help but join the fun because they’ve dealt with enough of Ted’s shenanigans to warrant a bit of payback

Please can I request another oneshot with a female reader. Where she is best friends with Joseph Joestar and they go to Italy together to train their hamon skills. However, as soon as they meet Caesar he falls in love with her which makes Joseph very jealous as he only recently started to feel more than friendship for her :) I can’t wait to read more of your writing :)
Hello again! Thank you for waiting. Yeesh, this was a pain. I don't think I'll be taking anymore love triangle requests in the future. Unless you paid me, hehe.
I hope you enjoy! I tried taking a saltier turn with this one but fear not, we still get our happy ending.
In-A-Godda-Da-Vidda
Woo name change. I feel this one matches the tone better than Jack Stauber. Check it out! It's a long one but it's great
Notes: Fem!reader, female pet names are included, angst, I think that's it!
It was unnatural for Joseph to be acting like some jealous brat. Childish, maybe. But these foreign feelings wrapping around his heart like bramble were becoming unbearable, and Joseph needed to bring an end to them quick.
It had only been a couple days since stepping foot in Italy, and you had already made a strong impression on the blond that set Joseph's blood to a boil. You had him wrapped around your finger, smitten, just like your closest best friend.
Was Joseph jealous because he thought Caesar could steal you away? Of course not! You were smart enough to not fall for his fake charm... Hopefully. He had faith that you wouldn't fall for the Casanova. But Caesar was acting rather bold lately. If Joseph wasn't by your side, the blond would be offering you random weeds and flowers he just so happens to find, telling you sickeningly sweet words that made Joseph want to gag. Gross.
Fear not! Your best friend Joestar would steal you away to protect you from the Italian. Training was taking too much time, Joseph feared. Luckily he was able to sneak away from Lisa Lisa, with you in tow. Rowing a boat was nothing if it meant spending time with you, Joseph didn't care about the subtle ache in his arms once he heard the childlike giggle come from you. He was pulled around all of Venice by you, but he didn't mind a bit. Joseph enjoyed watching you ogle store windows, and comment on the smells of fresh Italian cuisine. You even got him to buy you fresh gelato, something you could finally cross off your bucket list. The time you spent with your best friend was good, hiding away from a (very surely) pissed off Lisa Lisa and Caesar was great fun. The day until you all defeated the Pillar Men was drawing closer, you deserved some time off to relax.
Somehow you both were able to waste a whole day doing nothing in Italy. No more than a couple dollars was spent to make this a day to remember. With the city behind you, you and Joseph watched the sun set behind the sea. It was a beautiful sight to behold, a fitting end to the day. While you walked, the sky was streaked with orange and pink stretching across the sky. Yes, beautiful, but it was your sign that the fun was up, and you had to go back to Suplena Island to face the music.
"Can't believe we have to go back already... Today has been amazing, JoJo." You sigh in defeat, grabbing a hold on your best friend's arm.
There was a cheesy smug look on his face. "Amazing, hmm? I guess you could call it the greatest day of your life, right?!"
"Don't push your luck," You grinned. "Amazing, yes. But today certainly coulda done with some actual food... If Caesar was here I definitely coulda gotten some."
"Oh please, don't bring that cheese head into this!" Joseph groaned in desperation, two hands thrown over his head. You giggle quietly to yourself, "Oops, did I strike a nerve? Sounds like someone is upset. Don't tell me, are you upset because you couldn't take Caesar with you to Italy instead?" You couldn't help to tease him. The growing rivalry between the two was hilarious. Enemies at sight. You would never forget the face Joseph made after Caesar fired back those noodles of squid ink pasta.
Finally made it back to the boat, surrounded with other much better and much more expensive looking ships compared to the wooden row boat you drove in on. Joseph was still salty about your prying even as you neared your very special boat. As you moved to untie the thing Joseph's words stopped you. "The whole point of this trip was to get away from the bastard."
"JoJo, we've only known the guy for less than a month! How are you so jealous?"
"Tch! I'm not jealous! I hate the way he looks at you! Someone needs to protect you from him."
"And how does he look at me, JoJo?"
He thought about for a minute. "Like you're a piece of meat."
That stung you. That shock quickly turned into a dull anger. "Jeez, Joseph. No man is good enough for you! Even as a kid you'd never let me hang out with anyone. You're such a...a–!"
"What was that? Don't tell me you're actually interested in giving that sleazeball a chance!"
"You're a little too late, Joseph."
To help solidify the horrors he dreaded, a familiar accented voice filled in the silence between you two. "There you are! I've been looking everywhere!"
Caesar broke his jog to slide in next to you. He was bundled up heavily to combat the cool Italian night, his hand coming up to hold yours to share his heat. He ignored the awkward silence from your best friend and you, and ignored the angry and betrayed look on Joseph's face to only anger him more.
"What do you think you're doing?! Sneaking away in the middle of your training to goof off? Typical, Joestar!"
"Caesar, please..." You tried to stop with a soft hand placed on his chest. Joseph watched, another nail added to his coffin.
"Cara, you shouldn't indulge him! Going along with his idiotic plans will just get you in trouble."
Joseph's first greeting to his friend was a hearty and quick punch to his face. Caesar was already on the ground before his name left your lips. You dropped to care for him, holding him close as if he was made of glass, you left Joseph still standing, anger so visible in his eye now that it cut through you like a knife through paper.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" You shrieked.
"Me?! You've been dating Caesar behind my back? Since when?!"
"What does it matter to you, Joseph? I'm a grown woman and I can date whoever I please!"
"But you're supposed to be with me!"
He earned himself a shocked silence. As if all of Italy was dying to hear your response. Caesar stood to stare Joseph down, his cheek red from the impact of a wildly thrown fist, unshed tears wetting his eyes. He kept you protectively in his arm, massaging his face with his unused hand. You looked at Joseph just as bewildered, "What?"
"You're supposed to be with me! Not him! It's supposed to be you and me that do all of that cheesy romance stuff together, like calling each other stupid pet names, and kiss in public and gross everyone out! I don't want to do it with anyone else!"
"Joseph... Do you even hear yourself? No, shut up." You forced him silent once he tried to interrupt you, an iron grip on his chin, forcing his face down to look you in your cold eyes. "You had your chance, a long time ago. And you blew it. I'm not gonna wait in a box until you decide you want to have a go at dating with me. I loved you Joseph. I still do! But those feelings have changed, and now we both have to move on."
You let him go and went back to Caesar. He held you closer, a little more softer. The air around you now was uncomfortable and warm, both you and Joseph had your heads bowed in shame unable to look at the other.
You wanted to turn and leave. To look away from the sad sight of your best friend. But you couldn't. It broke your heart to see him like this. You hated how he treated you in the past. Maybe he didn't recognize it at the time, but it was still shitty. And yet...
"And yet, I... Oh, my god."
"Cara mia, what's wrong?" Caesar asked, frightened by your sudden urge to collapse into a ball on the ground, a hand over your face to hide the confused tears seeping from your eyes. You sobbed, "Caesar... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry."
The sounds of your distress caught Joseph's attention, too. An alarm sounded in his head, he didn't care about your fight, now he just wanted to make sure you were okay.
"I-I think I, I think... I'm still in love with you, JoJo. I'm sorry Caesar. I-I thought maybe if I tried to date someone new I could get over him, but now... I'm stuck between both of you."
"Oh, Cara please," Caesar held you close, a hand gently brushing through your frazzled hair. He was so soft with you, but did you deserve it? You were a terrible person. No, you didn't. You just used him, and ended up catching feelings for him anyway. Your heart was a mess, you didn't know what to do now. How could you ever fix this mess.
"Don't cry, my love," All while Caesar spoke he wiped away the tears staining your face. "I still love you, too. My feelings have over grown since we became an item. But if your heart still belongs to another man... I am more than happy to let you go to him. But. If you still have feelings for me, then... I see only one other option for us." He looked at Joseph, blue eyes calculated and serious. "We'll share you."
"Excuse me? Like hell I'd share anyone with you!"
"JoJo! Listen to me, if you truly do love this girl then you'll hear what I have to say!"
The brunet went quiet, but not without complaint. Joseph crossed his arms over his chest refusing to look at Caesar again, but he was all ears.
Caesar looks back at you. He took your hands in his. "Cara. If you love us both, and if we both love you. It would only make sense to take us both, correct?"
"Caesar, I don't... We can't do that. What would people think if they saw me with two men instead of one?"
"To hell with them! What matters is if having both of our hearts will make you happy. We only ask that you share your heart with both of us in exchange."
Joseph had come closer. Like his friend he was sat next to you, a comforting hand placed on your thigh. "And Joseph. Would all of this be okay with you..?" He pouted a little, "It's all fine, I s'ppose. As long as you don't make me kiss Caesar, I'd much rather kiss you."
"Then... I'd love to share my heart with both of you! If you'll take it."
Happy to hear, Caesar placed a chaste kiss on your temple. Joseph followed quickly after, taking the back of your hand to his lips. "Now, let us get back to the island. I'll speak to Ms. Lisa Lisa to lighten her punishment."
"Oh, great. I totally forgot about that." Joseph moaned. "Whatever. Say, Y/n, you're coming back with me yeah? Who knows what you've been doing behind my back with Caesar. We need to get even!
"You've had the whole day with her, idiota!" Caesar protested.
"As friends. Now I get to do all types of lovey dovey things with her!"

Star-Crossed Encounter
Kyle Broflovski x Y/N Oneshot (g/n reader)
Summary- A few days after y/n’s family moves to a remote town in Colorado, they set out to find their own space to escape reality for a while. When they try to replicate the scenario from their old town, a welcome stranger with red hair and green eyes shows just how similar the pair are to each other.
CW- some cursing, nothing major
Word Count- 912
When your parents move around as frequently as yours did, you develop some weird coping mechanisms. Never feeling fully “at home” anywhere, you have to make a space for yourself everywhere you go that gives you the illusion of control that a home provides. For you, you could always rely and find solitude in an empty high school football field. The feeling of damp grass or turf under your head and stars in your eyes was the same from Maine to California.
It’d been about a week since you had first stepped into this mountain town. Not the (seemingly) most exciting place you’ve been dragged to, but sometimes the unsuspecting places were the most enjoyable. You were particularly upset about this most recent move though, after spending the first three years of high school at your last residence, the longest your parents had stayed anywhere. Switching into a new school the first week of your senior year was not something you dreamed about.
The night was chilly, the first fall breezes coming in, perfect for some big sweats and a blanket. At around 12:30 you decided there would be no better time than now to go see what would become your place to think for the foreseeable future. Climbing out the window and making the walk to your school felt so familiar it was the first time you smiled in a week. A hop over the fence, and stroll to the midfield later, you were so busy looking around the bleachers and sidelines you had missed the figure laying there already. Until you tripped over him.
“Jesus fucking christ! Are you okay?” A lanky kid with a huge mop of curls sat up and turned to face you.
“Yeah I’m alright, are you?”
“Yeah, I think you took more damage than I did,” he chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. “I’m Kyle by the way. You’re new here, right?”
“Word travels fast here, I’m y/n,”
“Well we don’t see new faces here that often, and I think we had like four classes together. I’d have to be pretty stupid to not notice after that.” He was beginning to flush across his freckled face.
“Well I’m sorry about officially meeting like this Kyle, I swear I’m typically much more graceful when I break into public property in the middle of the night.” You got up onto your knees, starting to leave so not as to disturb the boy any longer. “Enjoy the rest of your night, dude.”
“Oh please don’t think you have to leave because I’m here, there’s plenty of room. And I mean who am I to deny another weirdo of their nighttime football field stargazing time.”
He got you to fully smile with that, so far the only person in this town able to do that. “Well if you insist. At least let me share my blanket with you then, you must be freezing!”
He grinned, his blush deepening, “If you say so,” You both got yourselves comfortable and wrapped up. “So if you don’t mind me asking, what brings you out here?”
You explained your story to him, losing track of how long you were talking, and how open you were to sharing your history with a total stranger. Maybe it was because the moonlight made his curls so shiny and bright red, or maybe it was the intense look in his eyes, as he held onto every word you said.
He also found himself talking more and more, opening up to you as well, although he was definitely less surprised by his openness. The second you walked into class that Monday he instantly clocked you. The fullness of your cheeks. The way your hair tucked behind your ear. The way your eyebrows pulled in when you were annoyed. He was smitten. It was refreshing for him to hear how like-minded you were, not to mention hilariously witty, and enough to give him a run for his money when it came to intelligence.
When the conversation lulled, with you both staring into the heavens and its constellations, more than two hours had passed since you climbed from your window. Neither of you seemed to mind enough to get up.
When the sun began to rise, some more hours later still, Kyle awoke to find your head and arm wrapped around his chest. “Hey, um, y/n?” He gently stroked your hair out of your face.
You slowly began to stir, and apologized profusely when you noticed the positioning you were in.
“Don’t worry about it, we’re just lucky I woke up in time so that we can both get home before our parents notice we’re out.”
“Thank you Kyle, you’re my savior,” you laughed out, meeting his eyes. You both stayed there for a minute, just looking into eachothers eyes.It was only broken when a rare moment of confidence sparked in Kyle. Before he realized what he was doing, he was leaning closer to your face, eyes fluttering shut, pausing an inch before you.
You tilted your head up, closing the gap between you. Again you sat for a minute, unbroken.
After what felt like a million years had passed you pulled away, both of you blushing now this time. “HowaboutIgetyournumberandgiveyouaridehome!” He squeaked out, the momentary confidence evaporated.
“What?”
“How about I get your number and give you a ride home?” He said much more slowly, coherently, and sweaty.
“I’d really like that a lot.”

Summary: You meet John's father after your first term of university, and find your growing attraction to him difficult to ignore.
Word count: 8,248
Content warnings: Modern AU, age difference, alcohol, mentions of drug use
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 | PART 6 | PART 7 | PART 8 | PART 9 | PART 10
‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗
You hated driving with John, he was far too reckless and half the time you were sure he wasn’t even paying attention to the road, but when compared to getting an overly expensive train or a stuffy coach, it was a no brainer. John’s warped view of the value for money, thanks to him growing up with an abundance of it, also played in your favour in that he refused to take any contributions for fuel.
After meeting John at a welcome party for your student accommodation, you soon bonded over growing up in a similar area - his house was just an hour on the train from you.
From then on, you’d often attend each other’s pre-drinks before nights out, and that soon led to you battling through your hangovers together the following day. You frequented his flat more often than your own by the end of the first semester, enjoying the company within it much more than that of yours. He and his childhood friend, Javier, had asked to be put together in their accommodation and he was always a lot of fun on nights out and super easy to get on with, and you discovered he’d taken the same course as you which saved you the worry of being alone in lectures. One of his other flatmates, Sean, had drove you insane when you first met him as he wouldn’t stop talking, but you soon grew to love him, too.
Abigail was another of his flatmates, and he made the dire mistake of pulling her on the very first night; making the living situation unbearably uncomfortable for everyone else, especially when the two made the event an “accidental” reoccurring theme. It was no secret that she was smitten the moment she met him, but John being John and John also being a university student he had no desire to enter anything serious, even if he did like her more than he let on.
You’d grown close to one of your own flatmates, Karen, and she often joined you on your trips to the flat across the hall, and after she’d drunkenly got with Sean on one of the nights out, being intoxicated became a requirement for her to visit the flat to calm her embarrassment. So, you all began smoking weed together on a regular occasion, and the small group became your favourite thing about university so far.
Although you were already saving money by getting a lift most of the way home, the day that John had wanted to return for the Christmas holiday only had expensive ticket options for the final leg of your journey on the train, but two days later was much cheaper and he’d kindly offered you a place in one of his spare rooms. You gladly accepted, eager to see how nice his house was and spend a bit of time with his younger sister, Tilly, who you’d only spoken to over facetime but whose dry sense of humour you found hilarious.
“Fuck, John, stop cutting people off,” you craned your neck backwards, watching the most recent victim of John’s erratic road presence throwing up the V’s at his car.
“Stop backseat driving,” he batted his hand, but as always there was no irritation in his relaxed raspy voice, one that was getting raspier by the day considering how much he smoked. If it wasn’t weed, it was cigarettes and oh there he goes lighting another.
“You do know this is why your car stinks, right?” you asked, cringing slightly at how careless he was even with his nice expensive vehicle.
“You’re starting to sound like Abigail,” he scoffed, taking an extended inhale from the cigarette and blowing the smoke at you for good measure, laughing in that signature wheeze of his when you recoiled.
Pushing the button to crank the window down, you leaned over and allowed the fresh air to fill your lungs now that you were back on normal roads.
The pair of you soon reached a more rural area, and John cleared his throat when he pulled into a gated entrance. You gawked at the property, once John had used his fob to open the gates to reveal a driveway filled with decorative stone leading up to a gorgeous big house.
“Shiiiiiit,” was all you could muster as you admired the beautiful brick and windows when you stepped out of the car.
“Yeah, yeah,” he dismissed, flicking his cigarette and leading the way to the front door.
You’d never seen a door so grand, dark wood that looked heavy and a golden lion's head holding the knocker. John fished his key from his pocket as you rang your fingers over it and didn’t care for your interest when he flung the door open.
“’m back!” he called into the house, which somehow felt homely despite how large it was. It was only a few moments before Tilly came charging down the stairs and flung her arms around him. You smiled as the pair embraced, one of the few brother-sister duos you knew that didn’t hate each other. They were extremely close, and you’d found out after a few weeks the reason why.
John’s mother had died when Tilly was only young, and your heart ached for the two kids but thankfully it brought them closer and they always had each other’s backs, with the guidance of their father, who had understandably been broken by her passing, along with their older brother.
Tilly greeted you too, and you shook her hand as she bounced in the direction of the kitchen. “Dad’s in the back room watching the game with Arthur,” she informed the two of you as you followed in her direction. You’d heard a lot about Arthur, John’s older brother, and had the privilege of seeing a photo of him once. He didn’t live at the house, instead with his boyfriend, Charles, and if you’d have known he was going to be there today you might have made a bit more effort.
You tried to be subtle as you took in the gorgeous room, black granite counter tops and high-end appliances only a backdrop for the big family kitchen that boasted an island in the middle with stools pulled up to it as it functioned as a breakfast bar too.
As Tilly helped herself to something from the cupboards, you followed behind John to the adjoining room where you could hear noise from the TV in the form of a football commentator.
You weren’t often nervous, not really, but something about this big house made you wonder what sort of man owned it and managed to make it warm and inviting while single-handedly raising his three kids. And when you saw him, lounged back on his sofa, wrapping his long ringed fingers around the neck of his cold beer bottle that paused on its way to his lips as his eyes landed on you, you had to gulp.
And when your name rolled of his tongue, that voice so deep and rich, you tightened your grip on your bag and quietly sucked air into your lungs as you smiled at him coolly. That didn’t help either, just brought your attention to the faint smell of tobacco in the air mixed with cedarwood and some delightful cologne that you wanted to inhale even more of.
But christ that’s John’s father you’re thinking about and you’re stood there like a moron and he’s waiting for a response. “Mr Van der Linde,” you swallowed. “Thanks for letting me stay, your home is lovely.”
John tutted loudly at your ass-kissing display, but you didn’t miss him shrinking slightly when his father turned his attention to him.
“I see you’ve not developed any manners while you’ve been away,” he tipped his chin down at the man who now gave off the aura of a boy, before looking back at you. “Thank you, miss. Please make yourself at home.”
You nodded and swallowed again, hoping it wasn’t noticeable to anyone else but God your mouth felt so wet all of a sudden. He was John’s father, alright, in possession of the same rugged charm held by his son, but much more refined and much less boyish. He shifted slightly in his seat, propping his leg up on the L-shaped sofa that he’d claimed the corner of. You darted your eyes away, reminding yourself not to look between his legs but wishing you could because those tailored black trousers did wonders for him.
“That’s Arthur,” John pointed lazily at the other man in the room, and you hadn’t even looked at him yet, but you were glad for something else to focus on. He was also a treat to look at, even more so in the flesh and you wondered what it was about this family that produced these kinds of men because you’d never encountered anything like it and now here you were in a room with three of them.
“Nice to meet you, Arthur,” you smiled and the man nodded in acknowledgement, nudging his beer upwards slightly.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Mr Van der Linde loosen the collar of his crisp white shirt, that’d been rolled up to reveal his forearms as a substitution for changing out of his work clothes to make himself comfortable.
“Will the two of you be joining us, son?”
You looked to John, part of you hoping he’d say yes but part of you desperate for any excuse to leave the room so you could breathe. John opted for the latter option, muttering something about being hungry and tired and wanting to settle in after the drive and Arthur asked when he planned on telling them all about his life at university, for him to just mutter later as he departed the room, and you quickly offered a smile to the two gentlemen before following him out.
“I’ll let you pick a room before we get the bags,” John began the walk up the stairs and you grunted behind him.
“Pick? You mean there’s more than one?”
He shrugged, as he always does when he felt uncomfortable discussing his financial situation. Half the time, you thought he hated having money, but you supposed it was more his manifested embarrassment over how much it set him apart from other people. Nobody would guess if they didn’t know, both due to his mannerisms and his insistence on often wearing the same t-shirt for a week straight.
“Well, where’s your room?” you asked, thinking that picking whichever was closest to him was the safest bet.
John pointed up, before walking towards a door which when opened, revealed another small flight of stairs. “Mine’s the attic. You’ve got the choice of that one,” he pointed at a door in front of you to the left, “and that one,” he pointed behind you at a second door, before making his way up the stairs to dump the first of his stuff.
You looked between the doors and decided to investigate the first one. It was bigger than your room at home, decorated in white and duck egg blue with a large double bed in the centre. The theme was the ocean, a beautiful painting above the bed depicting a grand ship on a calm sea. You’d be more than happy to stay here, hell a sofa would do you fine, but you still gave the other room a look even if out of pure nosiness.
The second room was warmer, dark wooden furnishings with an accent of a pretty mustard colour. The double bed was tucked into the corner beside the window, looking out over the garden and countryside beyond. There was no theme to this room, but a few decorations appeared to be antiques. You dropped your bag by an old-looking gramophone and ran your finger over the brass horn, marvelling at something so pretty being hidden away in a spare room. You peered at the disc inside, making out Tchaikovsky in faded lettering and reached your hand out to turn the crank, but recoiled when you realised you’d probably end up breaking it.
John’s feet thundering down the stairs prompted you to turn towards the doorway and he beckoned you to follow with the tilt of his head as he peered inside. You did, and the two of you made your way to the kitchen in search of food once your suitcase was safely situated in your room.
“There any dinner on?” he called to the next room.
“What’s it look like to you?” Arthur called back and John grumbled something about him being a smartarse.
“Half time is in five minutes, we’ll just order takeout if you decide what to get,” Mr Van der Linde called, prompting John to reach into a drawer and pull out a handful of menus.
“I forgot they even had paper menus,” you mused, leaning up beside John as you ran your hands over them to splay them out and get a good look. It all looked so good; you didn’t care which one they ordered from. “I’ll eat anything,” you announced and John huffed.
“You always do this. Can’t you pick for once?”
“I don’t mind! I could eat a horse I’m that hungry.”
John just rolled his eyes and scanned over the menus before pulling two of them out and presenting them in front of you. “Choose between these two then, I’ve whittled it down.”
You sighed, thinking that’s a fair deal as you looked between the two options: Indian or Thai.
Both were delightful, but you knew John would complain if you didn’t make the decision. After a minute of back and forth, you decided the tofu guay tiew was the most appealing and vocalised your choice of Thai.
“Dad’ll be happy,” he remarked, collecting up the other menus and unceremoniously jamming them into the drawer, “that’s his favourite.”
At the small sense of pride that filled your chest, you cursed yourself internally. Something about the man made you want to please him, an odd sensation for you since you usually could care less what other people thought. Besides, it was just a takeaway for Christ’s sake.
Shifting from the next room prefaced the two men that parted from it, expressions content and you assumed their team was winning. They were both so tall, because of course they were.
“Are you staying for dinner?” Mr Van der Linde asked Arthur who nodded as he deposited the beer bottles into the bin.
“Sure, I wanna hear all about little Johnny’s adventures,” he had a strong southern drawl, and proceeded to ruffle John’s hair who shoved him away in displeasure.
“Did you let our guest choose?” Mr Van der Linde then asked, raising his eyebrows at his other son before glancing at you with a small half-smirk.
John answered by reaching over the counter and handing him the menu, his eyes lighting up once he realised which one you’d chosen. “Good choice,” he hummed, not looking up at you and instead reaching into his pocket for his phone. “What does everyone want?”
“We can just use the app,” said John.
“No, I’ll call.”
John’s sigh caused the man to harden his gaze.
“It’s quicker over the phone,” he explained irritably.
“Dad’s an EOP,” John informed you.
“EOP?” Arthur repeated.
“Enemy of progress,” John responded, as though it was terminology even a baby should know, despite he himself only learning it from you a month ago.
“I am not,” the man grumbled. “Just don’t see the point of an app, is all.”
You smirked at the back and forth as Arthur rolled his eyes. “Someone just order the damn food,” he drawled.
Once everyone had ordered, including Tilly who it turns isn’t overly fond of Thai food but was quickly reminded by her father that she’d had free reign over the house and choice of takeout for three months, and it was only fair that her brother got to pick on his first night back. John teased her, saying that she’d become spoilt now that she was practically an only child.
“It should get here in time for the end of the game if we order and you collect it, otherwise we’ll have to wait an extra twenty. Up to you.”
“We’ll collect,” John answered without pause.
“You students really that hungry, huh?” Arthur chortled.
“I’m just excited to eat something that’s not instant noodles or beans on toast,” you hummed, thinking longingly about how much you’d missed a well-cooked meal.
“Or instant noodles on toast, in your case,” John teased.
At the looks of disgust directed at you, you huffed. “It’s nicer than it sounds!”
“That a thing you do often?” Arthur asked, more than intrigued by the strange diet of a student.
“Only when I fancy a change,” you shrugged and he scoffed, partially in disbelief and partially in amusement.
“Well, let us hope that your meal tonight is slightly more appealing,” Mr Van der Linde slid his phone back into his pocket, beckoning Arthur to follow him into the back room as the commentator announced the start of the second half.
You and John had left almost straight away to pick up the food, just to keep yourselves occupied, and thankfully it wasn’t long before you were back at his house and greeted with an already-set table including a couple bottles of wine.
It was a bit of performance getting everyone’s correct orders to them, but eventually you were all seated. Mr Van der Linde was at the head of the table (of course) with Arthur and John either side of him, you sitting next to John and Tilly sitting next to Arthur.
“Help yourselves to wine,” Mr Van der Linde gestured to the bottle of red and John didn’t need to be asked twice, pouring himself a large glass which his father eyed suspiciously.
John side-eyed you and laughed at your pursed expression. “She has a uh... an aversion to red wine,” he explained to the table.
You threw him a glare, embarrassed that he was bringing up your drunken tales from when you were learning your limits, even if you’re still yet to be mindful of them.
“Ha,” Arthur barked, “I’d like to hear that story.”
“Nobody is hearing that story,” you paused, “especially not while we’re eating,” you shuddered at the memory, looking at the delicious food in front of you and willing your brain to think about anything else.
“This is proper wine, not like that shit you students drink,” Mr Van der Linde huffed. “Just try a tiny bit.”
You obeyed, albeit hesitantly as you offered out your glass and John poured a mouthful in. Bracing yourself, you sipped it and tried to ignore the eyes around the table on you.
It tasted rich, smooth and warm on your throat and nothing like that red wine you’d experienced at university which was more closely related to window treatment. “Oh,” your tongue lapped slightly in your mouth, “that is nice.” You held your glass out again for John to fill and Mr Van der Linde chuckled to himself.
“I still want to hear some drunken tales,” Arthur took a sip of his own wine as you took another of yours.
“Well, I have plenty about John,” you smirked, forking some of your noodles into your mouth and nearly groaning at how good it tasted. Tilly’s eyes widened with intrigue.
“Don’t you dare,” he hissed, stomping his heel onto your toe under the table.
Your squeak turned into a laugh, and you raised your brows at him - I’ll keep your secrets if you keep mine.
He shifted his attention back to the food, knowing he had much more to lose in the present circumstance, and your agreement with one another was settled.
“How are your lectures, son?”
John shrugged. “Fine.”
“What are you learning about?”
You smirked around your next sip of wine, knowing that John hadn’t got a clue about the contents of his course given his terrible attendance to his lectures.
“Uh... Ethics.”
“Anything else?”
John attempted to remember the names of the modules he’d done the bare minimum for, but it didn’t seem to fool Mr Van der Linde one bit. He had mentioned that the push to study philosophy had come from his father, and unlike most kids that did something because their parents wanted them too, John didn’t seem to care. He much preferred being out of doors, with animals or working with his hands. Above anything, John preferred not working. So, a three-year degree, paid for by his father where he could slack off for a little while longer was more than welcome.
The way his father looked at him, you could tell John would be getting a talking to in a more private setting at a later date, but he instead turned his attention to you in favour of not lowering the mood around the table.
“Do you have more of an interest in your course than John does in his?” he asked you, his voice not entirely cleared of his disappointment and John noticed it too, shrinking his shoulders slightly.
“I suppose so,” you said brightly, hoping to alleviate the tension.
“You’re studying philosophy like John?”
“Oh, no,” you sipped at your wine, feeling as though you were being interviewed for your place on said course all over again. “Computer Science.”
He raised his eyebrow in surprise and Arthur hummed to vocalise how impressed he was. “Smart girl,” Mr Van der Linde said thoughtfully before taking a bite of food.
“She’s only interested in it because she has to be,” John scoffed, and you wondered if part of him was jealous at the praise you were getting that he wasn’t. “She’s got a scholarship,” he clarified.
You cleared your throat, embarrassed and slightly irritated at John for mentioning it. “I have to keep my attendance above eighty percent,” you shrugged nonchalantly.
“A scholarship? My my,” Mr Van der Linde brought his glass to his lips.
You just shook your head. Truthfully, you wouldn’t have even been able to go were it not for the scholarship; it would have been far too expensive, so you didn’t really have a choice in the matter if you wanted a place on the course.
“Do you know what you want to do for work?”
“Not really, suppose I’ll just go into software - that’s where most of the jobs are,” you took another sip of the wine and found your glass empty. “I guess I won’t go into app development, though.”
Even though you could slap yourself for trying to banter with him and only coming up with something so pathetic, he chuckled into his glass and his eyes were warm as they bore into yours when he licked a stray droplet from his bottom lip as he set the glass down.
You could swear you clenched.
“You always get flushed after wine,” John commented with amusement, refilling your glass before his own.
“I’m not,” you said quietly, holding your knuckles to your cheek and yes, your skin was burning. You grumbled and dipped your head, the spicy flavours of your dish now something you were all too aware of.
Mr Van der Linde just observed you, something unreadable on his face or maybe the wine had gone to your head and you just no longer had the capacity to distinguish emotions.
“Well,” he wiped a napkin over his mouth and sat back in his chair, his plate completely emptied of food. “I’m glad you’re around to keep John in check.”
“She isn’t as sensible and innocent as she looks,” John said over a full mouthful and Arthur tutted at his lack of table manners.
“That so.” Mr Van der Linde wasn’t asking. He sipped at his wine.
“Sure I am,” you cleared your throat, finding your voice once again but having nothing more to say to defend yourself. You couldn’t deny that John had experienced you in a light that was more than ill-fashioned, thanks to the numerous substances you’d experimented with over your short friendship so far.
The conversation continued long after dinner finished, Tilly talking all about her new school year and it was clear how much her father and brothers adored her; looking at her with all the love in the world and your heart swelled at the display. Your head swelled too, and you stopped your alcohol consumption after your fourth glass of wine, knowing you’d have a fierce headache in the morning.
Unfortunately, the conversation didn’t turn to the topic of Mr Van der Linde, and in your drunken haze you couldn’t stop your mind wandering as you thought about him as he sat there, a soft grin and slightly heavy eyelids following the wine and beer he’d drank that day with a hearty meal to top it off. You desperately tried to keep your gaze on whoever was talking, and for the past twenty minutes it’d been mainly Arthur. He briefly mentioned the business Dutch owned (what the business was, you had no idea) with another man, Hosea, his most trusted friend and colleague.
None of you had realised how close to midnight it was, and you rubbed at your eyes once Arthur pointed it out and called for a taxi to take him home. A yawn and a stretch later, you stood to excuse yourself too.
“Thanks again for dinner, Mr Van der Linde,” you said, picking up your cutlery, plate, and glass and loading them into the dishwasher.
“Please,” his voice came from right behind you and you stifled a gasp as you turned. John and Tilly were saying their goodbyes to Arthur at the door, but Mr Van der Linde was right next to you and god did he smell good.
And god, were you drunk.
“Call me Dutch,” he crooned, loading his own dishes beside yours.
All you could think to respond with was a nod. “Alright, thanks. Dutch.”
His brow softened at hearing his name on your tongue and he allowed himself the slight indulgence of wandering his eyes down your form as you walked away, clearly trying to hide in your walk how quickly the wine had gone to your head. He was in no position to judge, attributing his interest in his son’s pretty friend to nothing more than a drunken lapse of judgement that would go no further than that.
Your mouth was so dry.
The room span a little as you opened your eyes, but the headache wasn’t as bad as some you’d had previously, thankful that it was still dark out and you didn’t have to deal with any blinding lights. Rolling over within the comfort of the bed, which you could tell was dressed with a very expensive sheet and duvet set, you tilted your phone that sat charging on the nightstand and checked the time. 03:43.
Lord knows why you didn’t bring a glass of water to bed, or at the very least have some before you went to sleep, but you needed some right now and sat up to swing your feet onto the floor.
The house was still warm, and you ran your hand over a radiator in passing to find that it was on a low heat, so no wonder. You wore your plain, oversized, grey t-shirt and some underwear that you always referred to as your ‘boy shorts’. Drunken you had decided to be a little modest, at least.
(Mostly) sober you didn’t follow that trend, venturing onto the landing without pulling on some trackies, saying to yourself that you’d only be a moment anyway, so it was no matter.
You tiptoed down the stairs, thankful for the minimum creaking of the floorboards and made your way to the kitchen, the tiles cold on your bare feet.
There were a lot of cabinets, and while it felt rude to rummage through them you didn’t have much choice unless you wanted to lean over and drink straight from the tap, which was a much worse position to be caught in should someone see you. You eventually found the cupboard with the glasses and mugs, and after pulling out a pint glass you filled it up and gulped it down within seconds.
You did the same thing again, and as you were halfway done with your second glass a dim light was flicked on and you almost choked on your drink.
“Didn’t mean to startle you.”
Turning, you held your hand to your mouth to mask the massive gulp of water you held in it, and you swallowed it down as gracefully as you could, wiping your lips with the back of your hand as you cleared your throat to greet Dutch.
“It’s no problem,” you shook your head. “Sorry, did I wake you?"
He shook his head too, dismissively, and you didn’t miss his eyeline drop to your legs before back at your face.
“Shit,” you muttered, moving to hide your bottom half behind the island and he smirked.
“Don’t worry about it.”
But obviously you did, you’d known him shy of twelve hours and he’d just found you in his kitchen dressed the way you were and he’d probably seen half of your ass when you were turned the other way.
You glanced down at yourself by uncomfortably.
He let you fester for a moment under his smirk, before shrugging off his night gown to reveal his broad and surprisingly muscular chest, black hairs decorating it as well as his stomach. “Here,” he handed it out to you over the counter, leaving himself in just his red and black checked bottoms.
You took it without thinking, most of your brain power allocated to the task of not staring and you looked at the garment in your hands. “You don’t have to -”
“It’s fine.” He looked almost bored of your apologetic demeanour, something you realised he’d seen a lot of from you. You took the robe and wrapped it around yourself, the softness of it making you want to curl up but not quite as much as that scent did.
“Thanks,” you mumbled and he nodded. “You don’t have any painkillers, do you?” you asked, feeling like an immature teenager that couldn’t handle her drink. “Just in case.”
“Of course.” He moved round the counter and opened a drawer, tutting at the creased-up menus that jammed it and you did your best to hide your amusement. A rattle from the packet later, he pushed two out and offered them to you, and you held your hand out for him to drop them in. You popped them in your mouth and leaned your head back to gulp down some water.
He stared at your neck as you did so, but ripped his attention away when you brought your head back down.
“Is your head hurting?” he asked, stepping towards you and holding his hand to your forehead while brushing your hair away soothingly.
“Oh no, not really,” you swallowed. “It’s just in case it does in the morning.”
“I see,” he said plainly, casually returning his arm to his side.
“Thanks... again.”
Leaning back on the counter behind him, he crossed one foot over the other and offered you a gentle smile. You took another few sips, emptying your glass.
You glanced from Dutch to the sink and back to Dutch, before making your way over to fill up again. Now he was right next to you, silently observing and you didn’t face away from the sink as you drank down some more water. You could feel how warm he was, it radiated from his chest, and you were glad to have sobered up because you were certain drunken you would’ve just leaned into it, and how awful would that be.
Awful. Terrible. Definitely not wonderful.
Gulping down the rest of the glass, you finally felt satisfied and filled up once more so you could bring some it to bed with you. You turned to the man beside you, who did nothing other than blink.
“Good night, Mr Van der Linde.”
“Good night, miss.”
You walked out of the kitchen, remembering you hadn’t called him Dutch like he’d asked but supposing it wasn’t a big deal and you couldn’t think too long on it without the image of him topless crept back into your mind.
He’s John’s dad.
Shaking your head to hopefully rid it of your thoughts, you pushed open the door to your room and closed it gently before climbing into bed and curling in on yourself, keeping his nightgown wrapped around you.
Despite it being winter, it was too hot when you woke.
It was no surprise, given the heating was on and you were wearing Dutch’s robe and had a thick duvet draped over you. You kicked it off, star-fishing and grimacing at the sweat that’d pooled on your lower back.
09:07.
You brought up your messages with John.
Going to get a shower if you don’t mind.
John was mostly hit and miss with his sleeping schedule, sometimes he’d be up at the crack of dawn and other times he’d sleep in until mid-afternoon. Today, you were thankfully he’d been an early riser.
Knock yourself out.
You stayed still for a moment, before sliding out of the bed and unzipping your suitcase to find your toiletries bag. Not wanting to change into anything that was clean, you opted for keeping Dutch’s nightgown on since you were only walking across the hall.
But when you did, and reached your hand out to open the bathroom door, you could hear the shower on from inside. You frowned and turned, in time for Tilly to depart from her room to the right.
“Oh, John’s just gone in,” she informed you.
“Fucker,” you grumbled and she tilted her head at you in questioning. “I just told him I was getting a shower.”
She giggled apologetically, her eyes shifting to look behind you at the sound of a door opening. You turned. Dutch. You hadn’t realised the room next to yours was his.
“You’re welcome to use my ensuite,” he yawned, patting Tilly’s arm as she passed him to go downstairs.
“Are you sure?”
“I wouldn’t offer if I wasn’t.”
“Right,” you nodded. “Thank you.”
“There’s no shower in there,” he leaned against the door frame, folding his arms over his now (unfortunately) covered chest. “Just a bath, but I can draw you one up no problem.”
A bath. God, you missed baths. Your accommodation only had crappy showers that were unbearably inconsistent with their water pressure and temperature.
“I’m sure I can wait,” you shrugged, not wanting to trouble him even a little.
“John’ll be at least 20 minutes,” he pointed to the door with disappointment, “bath’ll be full in ten.”
You swallowed, now feeling like it’d be rude of you to say no. “O-Okay, thanks. But I can run it.”
“Please, allow me. On account of my idiot son,” he scratched the back of his scalp lazily.
You huffed a laugh, not wanting to oppose him anymore and gave in. “Alright, I appreciate it.”
Dutch nodded, disappearing into his room and you busied yourself back in yours while you waited. You were fiddling with the gramophone again when he rapped at your open door.
“You just turn the crank,” he informed you.
“Oh, yeah, I didn’t want to break it.”
He huffed in amusement, meandering over and stopping next to you to wind it up.
You smiled fondly, as the ever-familiar Dance of The Swans began playing.
“Swan Lake,” you hummed, more to yourself than Dutch but he turned to you with his eyebrows raised.
“You like ballet?”
“Love it. Used to take lessons when I was younger, not that I was any good,” you snorted. “Swan Lake was always my favourite.”
His smile was warm, and eyes intrigued. “Do you go to see the shows often?”
“Not as often as I’d like, it’s been a couple years actually.” Life as a student didn’t often allow room for the luxuries of tickets to the ballet.
Dutch nodded thoughtfully. “Well, your bath is ready.”
You followed him out the room, the song reaching its crescendo and fading out in your ears as the two of you walked further away from it. He opened the door to his bedroom, motioning for you to enter.
“There’s a speaker in there if you want to put on any music, John says it’s Bluetooth or something.”
God, he’s adorable.
He’s also John’s father goddamnit.
“Thank you,” you cleared your throat, walking past him and through the next open door, stopping at the frame.
“Take your time,” he hummed after you and you nodded in appreciation as you closed the door. You'd wanted to sneak a peek at his room but couldn’t very well do so with him watching you. You dropped your things on the floor and locked the ensuite, turning to the pristine bathroom that felt warm and cosy despite the fact it was mostly grey, the floor slate and the standalone bath by the small window at the end.
The smells inside the room were wonderful, and you peered into the steaming tub and to your surprise it was filled with bubbles, the water a shade of lavender and you were impressed that he even had the supplies to make such a delightful bath.
He’d even lit a candle for you.
You shrugged off his robe and hung it on the back of the door, taking a second to smell it and make sure it didn’t now reek of your sweat. Thankfully, it didn’t.
It was the best bath you’d ever had. You’d played some of your favourite relaxing music and looped through an entire album before you cracked your eyes open, realising how long you’d sat in the warmth as your hangover dissolved away.
Giving the bath a little once over with the scourer and bathroom spray you found under the sink once the water was out, you rubbed your nice-smelling moisturiser over your skin and dressed in your clothes for the day; feeling miles better than you had done a few hours previous.
You only allowed your eyes to rake over Dutch’s bedroom briefly, dark mahogany furnishings and an extremely inviting king-sized bed with silk sheets in the centre of the room. The only think you didn’t like was how eerily tidy it was. You left quickly.
The scent of something sweet greeted you and you cringed slightly upon seeing the hands of the fancy kitchen clock reading the time of 10:25. Whoops.
Nobody seemed to mind, greeting you as John and Tilly sat at the breakfast bar while Dutch cooked over the stove. You flicked John’s ear as you passed him for stealing your shower, although you weren’t really that bothered since the alternative was much more desirable. He rasped his laugh, as usual, and you could tell he’d just had his morning cigarette, though you suspected he was missing his weed that he’d usually smoke on a Saturday morning.
“You were pretty wasted last night,” he slung his arm over you, and you pressed your forehead into his shoulder.
“I wasn’t that bad,” you mumbled into the fabric of his hoodie that you’d borrowed on more than one occasion.
He vibrated with a laugh, resting his head on top of yours and you pondered which one of you had really been that drunk, considering he was showing signs of a strong hangover; he was always very snuggly after a particularly heavy night. “Hair of the dog later?”
“You’re going out tonight?” Tilly asked and John looked to you.
“If we don’t find anything else to do, probably. We did say we were only going to go if Javi went anyway.”
“And is he?”
“Not sure,” you hummed, shifting to lay your head on John sideways (he was surprisingly comfortable given his lean frame) and pulling out your phone to find no new messages from Javier.
Thoughts on tonight?
You set your phone on the counter, not expecting a reply until much later when he finally joined the land of the living.
“We could go on a walk?” Tilly asked sweetly and John groaned.
“A walk,” you jabbed his side, “would be lovely. Maybe in a few hours when John’s recovered.”
“Coming, dad?”
Dutch cleared his throat, seemingly very focused on his cooking and slung the tea towel over his shoulder. “Uh... Perhaps. It’s colder than it looks out there.”
He brought two bowls over, one filled with fresh berries and another with melted chocolate. You groaned in delight and sat up from John, peering at the selection.
When the bowl of chopped banana arrived along with lemon juice and sugar, Dutch allowed himself a glance in your direction and his lips turned up at the sight of you eagerly eying the food.
He finally brought over the pancakes, sauce, and fresh orange juice before seating himself beside Tilly.
You salivated at the display in front of you, the best cure for a hangover that wasn’t quite the same when you’d made it back in your flat. “Thanks so much, Dutch,” you hummed, beginning to stack your pancakes with toppings.
“It’s my pleasure,” he chuckled, pouring out a cup of coffee.
Internally, John briefly questioned when you’d gotten to a first name basis with his dad but didn’t give it much thought to it and soon his full focus was on the food in front of him.
“I got a load of washing,” he chewed his last mouthful after pretty much inhaling his breakfast, washing it down with a glass of orange juice.
“You know where the laundry room is,” Dutch countered calmly to which John scoffed and stood to grab his washing that’d accumulated over the past few weeks. “Do you want to wash anything, miss?”
“Oh,” you swallowed your juice, remembering your suitcase full of clothes that needed washing. “It’s fine, I do have some but I was just going to do it when I got home.”
“Nonsense. When John’s finished you can put a load on.”
You shrugged. “Alright, suppose I may as well.”
Later that day, Dutch called up the stairs to let you know the washing machine was free and you ambled downstairs after separating your clean clothes from those that needed washing. He directed you to the laundry room and you placed your suitcase on the dryer and opened it, deciding that one load should be enough. You looked at his fancy washing machine, slightly uncertain on how to get it going.
As though reading your mind, he appeared in the doorway and cleared up your confusion. You turned to thank him and found his eyes cast down to your pile of clothing – and you were mortified to see your underwear right at the top. In an attempt to play it cool, you looked back to him and he gave you a smile, one that had you questioning if he’d even been looking or if it was just a figment of your imagination. You returned his expression, turning back to desperately try and remember what he’d just told you about how to work the appliance and you leaned over to turn a dial and pretend you knew what you were doing. You breathed a sigh of relief when the door clicked shut after an extended moment, and dumped your pile of clothes in.
Unfortunately, the weather was both cold and rainy by the afternoon, squashing all hopes Tilly had of going on a walk. She made you promise that when you next came round, you’d join them on one and you were reminded that you had to leave tomorrow but the prospect of returning was an exciting one. Incidentally, Javier had no desire to go out in the rain and so yours and John’s plans were cancelled too, but you went to the drive through for a late lunch that you’d both finished by the time you returned to his house.
Instead, you spent the rest of the day on the sofa with Tilly and John, flicking through Netflix and bundled under blankets. Dutch put you to shame by having a better social life and going out for beers with his friends that evening, but he made a lasagne to go in the oven when the three of you got hungry, and the entire thing was demolished in no time. Nursing a rather large food baby, you turned in at around 11pm.
“Are you going to come and watch?” John asked you after he informed the room that he'd be playing football with the guys on that dreary Sunday.
You glanced out the window and back to him with a frown. “It’s pouring rain. And I see you’re going back on your promise to give me a lift to the station.”
“I never promised nothing,” his expression told a different story; he’d just forgotten. “Dad’ll take you,” he gestured to his father who looked up from his phone.
“Course I will,” Dutch stated, and returned his attention to the device in his hand.
“Oh, it’s fine, I can get a taxi -”
His expression alone silenced you as he looked up once more, an eyebrow raised at you to stop protesting. “I insist,” he said after letting the silence hang in the air for a bit. You just nodded.
When John left an hour later, he gave you a big squeeze goodbye and you told him to at least do some revision for his exams in January, to which he countered that they didn’t even count to the final grade and you couldn’t really argue with him on that. With Tilly up in her room and a couple of hours to kill before you had to leave, you tried to find something to watch on TV but had no luck and sighed as you eyed your laptop beside you. May as well try and get some work done.
You begrudgingly pulled up the code for one of your assignments, but soon found yourself focused and began to make some decent progress.
“What on earth is that,” Dutch commented, leaning on the back of the sofa as he squinted at your screen over your shoulder.
Huffing a laugh, you craned your neck to look back at him. “Broken code,” you stated, before looking back at said code.
“Looks... interesting. How can you concentrate with this on?” he gestured to the TV.
“Oh,” you looked up, half forgetting it was even on. “It’s just background noise.”
“I see. Mind if I watch something?”
As if he was asking you, like it wasn’t his own house. “Course not.”
He moved round the sofa and dropped himself in the spot you’d first found him in, and he flicked through the channels until he landed on a cooking show, and you were reminded of how delightful your dinner was last night.
“That lasagne was so good,” you commented, not taking your gaze off the screen in front of you.
“I’m glad you liked it. Can I get you a drink?”
“Oh,” you blinked at him, “no, I’m fine thank you.”
You returned your attention back to your work and settled into the cushion of the sofa. It felt oddly normal to sit with Dutch, while he did have a very intimidating aura, he was also the kind of person you could sit in silence with and not have it be awkward. He lounged back, watching his show while you typed away on your keyboard.
Before you knew it, an hour and a half had passed, and you rubbed your eyes before closing your laptop.
“Ready to get going?”
You groaned and rested back, wishing you could curl up on the comfy sofa instead. “I guess,” you grumbled.
Dutch chuckled fondly. “You’re welcome back anytime.”
“Thanks Mr Van der Linde,” you smiled at him, and there was something about the way he was looking at you...
Or perhaps it was your imagination.
He cleared his throat as he stood, placing his warm hand on your shoulder as he passed and you almost leaned into it, but he was out the room before you could and all that remained was that scent of his. You shivered as you stood.
The short journey to the station was delightful, in Dutch’s fancy car that had heated seats and was pristinely clean. You only allowed yourself to look at him once, the way he sat back and leisurely stirred the wheel with one hand, his other one resting on his thigh.
“Have a good Christmas, miss,” he tipped his head as you turned to close the door, and you returned the sentiment.
You were actually glad to be leaving, a little fantasising was harmless but there was something about that look in his eye that had you wondering if perhaps it could be a reality. And, of course, that was territory you’d never venture into; sleeping with your friend’s dad, a man twice your age? Absolutely not. Time to enjoy Christmas at home and forget all about him.
When you couldn’t find one of your favourite pair of knickers, the lacy, dark grey ones, you tutted at yourself for forgetting them even though you were sure you’d packed them. But when you returned for second term at university, they weren’t anywhere to be found in your flat, either.
