#not saying you can't have lando as a fave!! but hold him accountable when he does this instead of making it into cutesy little posts

i can understand being frustrated with his errors as a fan. but calling this a "shit" performance?
even with an error, he was only 0.082 seconds off his teammate in sprint quali. if that's shit, quite literally every other driver who got outqualified by their teammates yesterday is shit.
then you have the sprint. lando starts on the dirty side of the grid, ofc he's going to lose places. (both drivers start on the dirty side today. piastri fans are on something if they think he has superpowers and won't struggle off the line as well). much like lando, oscar also momentarily got overtaken by cars on the softer tyres when they were operating optimally. lando actually has to work his way through the grid and do some brilliant last-minute overtakes to secure a P3. and tbh everyone was expecting max to get him off the line anyway. p3 was where they were expecting him to end up. he got that. piastri was expected to be p2, he capitalized off max losing positions at the start + the safety cars and ended up p1. that's how the luck rolls sometimes. definitely doesn't make lando "shit" or oscar some talent that is exposing him already and leaps and bounds ahead of him.
even the actual quali. i will be the first to admit, even as a fan, that was one of the messiest sessions I've seen from lando in years. however, i don't fault him for pushing. he legitimately thought he had a chance at pole - I'd rather him push and make an error for it this year while they're still rebuilding than wait until mclaren does maybe deliver that championship contending car to do it. hell, charles can literally bin it pushing for pole, and it's all "poor baby, ferrari doesn't deserve him" but god forbid i don't think lando's a complete piece of shit for exceeding track limits a few times when he's the second quickest driver on track without being accused of coddling him? like cry me a river lmao. there's a difference between saying yes, this driver screwed up and holding him accountable for it versus just holding it over their heads and making it the defining moment of their weekend regardless of how they recover.
"but god forbid i don't think lando's a complete piece of shit for exceeding track limits a few times when he's the second quickest driver on track without being accused of coddling him?"
this this this this this. goooooooood this is it. did he make mistakes this weekend? fuck yes he did. does he deserve to get called a shit driver, an attention seeker, washed-up nowins that can't handle pressure? fuck no.
if you're trying to keep up the facade of being a fan, then keep the same energy for him as you do with your actual faves

no because ignoring comments like lando's is exactly how erasure and xenophobia become casual and something people become desensitized to and even if it doesn't seem like a big deal to you it's a big deal to the people and identities that are harmed by ignorant comments and actions like these in the long run
