Yesterday, while I was posting my Shirt Recolor, russians hit civil multi-apartment building with guided missile in my city. With. Guided. Missile. 5 civil people dead, dozens are wounded (including 10 children), some of them very heavily wounded. This it the type of news I'm getting every day. russia deliberately chooses to kill civil citizens. This wasn't done by mistake or coincidence. This is the genocide of Ukrainians happening right now, online. And, at the same time, Disney Channel chooses to cut off 20 Days in Mariupol from short Oscar version because they didn't have time... They didn't have time on such important message to the world. Do Ukrainians have time? It's a rhetoric question. But one thing I know for sure - Ukrainians certainly don't have time for Disney's bullshit.

I'm serious.

Reblogging and general 'word of mouth' online is SUPER helpful, yes. What it's not is the end-all of activism.

If you're able-bodied and don't have kids and/or 238479 jobs, go help your local activist groups. If you're not able-bodied, or have kids, or 238479 jobs, you can still support local protest organization as you're able. Support local and national campaigns that are making real, actionable effort to get the attention of politicians. Americans, call. Your. Reps. Write letters and emails and call. Keep calling. And don't forget to vote.

There are so many better things you could be doing to help than holding strangers on the internet to some impossibly pure standard of performative "activism." Shut up and put your energy toward something better.

Hello lovelies,

As some of you know, my sister and I rescue and take care of homeless cats. And we're going through heatwave after heatwave. We've already lost 5 kittens because of the extreme heat. And right now, we have 10 kittens, some of whom are blind and weak and we want to protect them.

We've been keeping them in the neighborhood caretaker's abandoned yard, which is an absolute mess (the guy is a scavenger and he collects literally everything, but now he's no longer using the yard), we've already cleaned half of it, and we want to fix the fence and cover it to keep the kittens safe and prevent them from getting out and being exposed to cars but especially we want them to be protected from the heat and the scorching sun.

This is why we are raising money for them.

So, please, consider donating or becoming a member to help us turn this place into a clean, cozy and mostly safe kitten shelter.

I want to build an amusement park, with carousels, a Ferris wheel, a panic room, and a roller coaster. We will also need to arrange a place for the wedding and rebuild the second-hand shop. Just checking in to let people know I'm home and that the surgery went well. I had to stay overnight, thought, instead of being discharged the same day, since I was quite nauseous from the anaesthetic (and also my surgery had to be postponed for two hours because of my emergency, so it was getting late in the day) - which of course made my MS go "hold my beer". :P The staff was awesome all around, though, so absolutely no complaints there.

This morning, though, I was feeling much better - a little sore because someone's poked around in my belly with an endoscope, of course ("it's like repapering your hallway through the front-door letterbox", I heard a surgeon describe it once ;) ), but nothing worse than that. So I was released around noon, yay! (The surgeon checked in on me before I was released, and noted that "you look like a completely different person compared to yesterday". Thank you?) Also, since I'm feeling mostly fine I didn't need to stay with my aunt after all (and she was perfectly fine with that, she's just happy everything went well), but could go home right away. Because no matter how much you love your family, it is nicer to be in your own place with your own computer stuff where you can do things your own way.

Sorry, guys! I've got too emotional and posted the ask about Gaza without looking into it closely! I was reported about it being a scam. I felt it was weird to ask a certain amount of money but couldn't force myself to ignore the message. I don't know any actual working rescuing centers for Gaza. Many links are going back and forth by the internet, and I can't tell if they're safe. Cos I'm not in the area to tell if it actually works. But here someone made a Palestine Masterlist with lots of information about the country, culture, donations and help.

From myself I can only tell what I know about Ukraine. If you want to help and donate to Ukraine, please choose organizations that are from Ukraine and work in Ukraine. Such as:

Я люблю зиму и люблю снег, но не настолько) Когда ты выходишь из дома и проваливаешься в сугроб по колено, это уже слишком) Транспорт стоит, тротуары чистят только вдоль основных дорог, спальные районы погребены под снегом) Бедные водители, их машины напоминают большие сугробы. У людей сегодня квест откопай машину и получи возможность выехать, но это не точно😅
