BACKSTORY

Myata Berry was the laughing stock of Foxbury Institute, in spite of the advanced science curriculum and "extraterrestrial theory" course that they boasted of. When she arrived she discovered that her extraterrestrial theories professor was disgraced, kept around solely to be a source of entertainment for academic snobs, but there was a certain charm and draw to his classes that brought in conspiracy theorists and eccentric geniuses to his door. Myata was among them, and she became his prized student.

She graduated with honors, in spite of the board's best efforts to keep her out of the spotlight. She prided herself on her perfect grades, kept her academic rewards polished and on full display, and had a drive for success and competition that led to bitter and petty academic rivalries. The day she graduated was the start of the rest of her life.

After taking a job at one of the leading labs in the world, Myata caught wind of rumors of alien abductions and other mysterious disappearances, strange conditions, and government secrets. At the very center of this was Strangerville. Captivated, she packed everything up and relocated to the desert. She used her life savings to make the move and renovate a cheap trailer home (as she refused to live in anything that did not resemble at the very least a moderately expensive home, complete with an HOA and full hardwoods all throughout) and now resides there with her beloved cat, Peppermint.

With eccentric neighbors and lots of talk of extraterrestrials and the supernatural, Myata is sure she'll fit right in. And she's bound and determined to unravel the mysteries of the universe and reveal the truth even if she dies trying.

MILA BERRY 🧪🔬

Mila Is the founder of our not so berry challenge moving out of her parents home at the ripe old age of 22 (saving up for a house was hard for her and all her impulse buys weren’t much help) living on her own is a struggle but landing a job as a scientist wasn’t! She soared the ranks as a young adult Nearly and she’s there! halfways to retirement and only 22! you go girl!
