Good day madam i am here to request matchups for the Detective League, Blight and the DoD (if thats too many then just the DL)

I have brown eyes and hair, although i dye my hair so its more of a ginger colour rn. I like anime, fashion, comics, music, cats and sleeping and i dislike bigots, pineapple pizza, people who dislike cats and school. My hobboes include watching anime, reading manga, playing pokemon, drawing, listening to music and playing with my dogs. My pet peeves are loud noises, messy eaters, and people telling me what to do while im already doing it. Im a very emotional and sensitive person, although i do have a few anger issues i need to work through. I would do almost anything for people im close to. I can come off as mean or insensitive sometimes but i never mean to, usually its due to my tone.

For the Detective League, I pair you with...Maikel!

- He doesn't usually have many hobbies outside of detective solving and reading so I can imagine that dates consist of you going to the library and he'll read a mystery book and you're raiding the manga aisle.

- Maikel would also get you into a lot of spanish pop music, too, because that's literally the only music he ever listens too but he'd be open to listening to your kind of music too, I feel.

- You hate bigots? He does too! Most of all, he hates it when bigots are in power so chances are that he lets you help in finding out information or so that'll bring famous bigots down, just as a message to the rest.

- Considering he's friends with Mandisa, he understands the whole emotionally and impulsive attitude you have but he also knows that you're trying to work through it, so he'd be more than happy to help you. Always being patient and giving you gentle reminders of your goal.

- He honestly wouldn't take it personally if you felt like you were being rude to him because he just doesn't pick up on things like that but even then, he knows you love him so he doesn't really get upset about it.

- Considering this dude is a ride or die type too, he'd really appreciate the "doing anything for your loved ones" aspect of you...until he remembers that he's one of your loved ones and he lives a life of danger so I can imagine that shenanigans that come from that.

For the DoD, I pair you with...Lexi Luthor!

- Her dad's a bigot so you guys can hate him together and watch as she makes his life miserable with her pranks and so.

- You can honestly get away with anything with Lexi, you want to watch anime? She'll invited you to the DoD base to use the super computer and surround sound that'll give you the best viewing experience ever.

- Honestly shares the same pet peeves as you, both of you just talking about why and just how much it annoys you and the other person is just going: "RIGHT?! I KNOW!"

- She's such a huge anime nerd herself and if you are willing, she would love it if you would go to cosplay conventions with her and cosplay as an iconic anime couple.

- As for your emotional and sensitivity aspects, she understands that and will console you on it. She might get kinda annoying because she isn't exactly known to take things seriously but maybe that's what keep you guys interesting, you keep her passionate and she keeps you resilient.

- Honestly, he and Lexi are just so similar to each other that everything would just stand but granted, he does have his own romantic flare when it comes to you.

- Honestly, I can imagine that you, Morgan, and him just laze around together and play pokemon. Just don't get too friendly with Morgan when you guys are around each other because then Pele gets a little bitter about it.

- He knows that sometimes, you don't mean what you say or that you're upset about something, and he gets it. Emotions fucking suck but sometimes you gotta feel them so he'll be there to listen or help in anyway that he can.

there is nothing wrong with liking characters that all fall into one demographic due to great writing. I like characters for their journey+personalities+quality, gender and race is just the wrapping paper they come in. Badly written characters are the types that only focus on their race, gender, sexuality and nothing else, which are boring tokens and unrelatable on personal level. that why im resentful to fanfic writers that change characters recognizable identity traits (race, gender, sexuality), they prove they cant create a character and have no respect for established characters, even though those traits are what i called the “wrapping paper” it is still their image and a part of them. people that change canon characters are the bigots for changing them in the first place and would be the first to screech if a minority character was changed to be a different demographic. hypocrisy is the SJW game.

Like my thing with science villains in particular is that when i first played ff7 i really liked the idea of an evil minion who's a bad sidekick not just because he's "dumb" or "bumbling" but because he's actually not interested in any of the evil stuff and he works against his own boss and is like.. Friendly to the heroes, i have no particular grudge against you and i wont stop you if im off duty and all. I liked the Turks for the same reason but in the origibal ff7 translation they were kind of stoic and serious and i didnt really become as much of a fan of them til i saw them being more goofy and comic relief in some optional sidequests and then their movie adaptation. But hojo was always being all "lol my boss's plan is so stupid amirite" and had that very memorable scene where he's just sunbathing and tells you everything you need to know to get to the next thing to ruin his boss's plan cos i mean fuck it who even cares im just here to soak up some sun while fully dressed in a turtleneck and labcoat. It sucked so much that he was such a reprehensible bastard with creepy sexual assault vibes and murder and child abuse and experimenting on people and basically just NOT A LOVEABLE VILLAIN but his CONCEPT held so much potential to be filled by a sympathetic character instead...

So yeah then cos of him i kept being obsessed with finding SOME CHARACTER SOMEWHERE that actually lived up tp that potential, and thats why i was instantly interested in charon from pokemon and totally on edge waiting for the slightest chance for him to become That Perfect Sass Gramps Of Legend. And then he was indeed sassy!! And had so little screenyime that there was potential for interpretation of him as potentially redeemable cos i mean the game never said he wasnt, the game barely said anything about him at all, lol. And he was so old and small and frail looking and i just wanted to protect him!! And then that one wifi event that actually hinted at synpatheticness!! Aaaa its a recipe for a Forever Fave~

And i guess maybe it all started with my grandma being awesome and me really missing her? Cos i had shitty abusive parents and she was my ONLY good family member who showed me what love was like. And she was also basically a supervillain. Like every damn supervillain trait except being evil! She was bombastic and confident and sassy and mischievious and loud and passionate about stuff and always had something funny to say and never gave up no matter how many times she failed. And she also used all that great power for the forces of good!

So yeh thats why i love sassy good guys and i hate that often even when a sassy villain gets redeemed they seem to lose all their edge and become more generic now theyre a good guy. Or they get totally sidelined with no screentime anymore, or they ONLY get to be comic relief and dont get the full and complex redemption they deserve. Or just a lot of bads!! Its never the simplest answer of just fuckin.. Keep the character the character. Thats kinda why i didnt feel too much for the maleficent movie even though the concept itself sounded like everything i ever wanted. The character in that movie is a very different person to origibal maleficent, she's more just a stoic tsundere mumsy figure than a hammy badass iconicness. Still a nice villain redemption but it felt like it would have been better as an original story instead of an attempted maleficent. Also i wish they handled it better with the whole "true love's kiss could be from your mum instead" thing cos i get sooooo grossed out whenever i see people shipping movie maleficent and aurora! Like yes sleeping beauty with lesbians would be great but not when one of them is old enough to be her mum and raised her like a mum and changed her goddamn diapers! Also why did they have to ruin the three good fairies just to make maleficent have the mum opportunity? Like just remove them from the story if you wanted maleficent to raise the kid instead. No need to rewrite them into incompetant assholes when they were everyone's fave part of the original! Dont sacrifice the rare and elusive Good Sassy Gay Aunts!! THEYRE LIKE THE ONLY ONES IN DIDNEY!!! (Incodentally merlin is the equivelant of this to hades as the fairies are to ursula)

Also also villains tend to have ACTUAL FLAWS in stories that have a more boring bland protagonist. I wanna see the story behind charon's neuroses and how he struggles with overcoming his temptation to be bad because of greed but ultimately manages to conquer his own negative side because power of friendship and such. Thats a great character arc that provides so much more than he does as a villain where they just wasted him entirely :(

SO BASICALLY IN SUMMARY

* villains are often more complex and well developed characters with flaws while the same wroter might make shitty heroes due to the illogical fear that nobody would root for them if they werent 100% perfect and successful at everything ever

* villains are also often made as negative stereotypes of minorities and other rarely seen traits, which means its easy to reach out to them and reclaim them as a more positive version when theres literally no other options for you to cling to

Also even if a villain isnt outright intentionally meant to be "this minority is bad", it can still make me symoathetic to them if theyre still something thats rare amoung the hero side in the same series. Like charon being the "most unredeemable" villain despite being the most harmless and funny and his plan being so much less world destroying than cyrus, and also he's the only grandpa villain in like.. The whole of all. And he's drawn very much in that way thays supposed to be "ugly" i.e normal grandpa, vs that weird sort of younger than he looks grandpa that hero ones tend to be because blablabla beauty ewuals goodness anti body positivity whatever. Tho actually sinnoh was good with that, they had the best grandpa professor in my opinion cos he got to be sassy too! Rowan always reminds me of auron from ff10. Sinnoh was a good game where i liked a lot of both the heroes and villains even if i still had more villain faves cos i mean pokemon is always biased towards that for me since every game has a voiceless perosnalityless main character and often theyre the one doing most of the heroing with the supporting hero characters having surprisingly little proper screen time. Thats a big part of why i loved hau gladion and lillie in sun and moon! They felt more like a real friend group than any other ones before.

LGBT Pride

I have just got back from Pride and something made me feel really very angry while I was down there, it really boiled my piss. 

It was a lovely celebratory atmosphere, the people were really friendly, lots of stalls and shops were displaying Rainbows and support for Gay Rights, but there was an undercurrent of falseness to it. If I am honest, some of it felt a little like bandwagon jumping because it made for quick sales. For some of the groups down there today, I had serious misgivings about their integrity.

   Yes, I know that this makes me sound like a miserable old whatsit, but at its heart, Pride is about fighting for civil rights, demanding equality for all people on the LGBTQ spectrum. It is not an excuse for local businesses to hang up a banner for one day and make a fuck load of cash out of it. Pride today felt to me like a comercial thing rather than a political thing, with many people in attendance who do not understand what it feels like to go through the fear of coming out or the systematic bullying and physical assaults that LGBTQ people suffer every day. This felt like a squishy sanitised affair or if you want it another way, like a loudly barking dog that has no teeth!

I am not saying at all that I want angry shouting or fighting on the streets, but I do want people to understand that this is not just a single day in the year thing, a single day off from hating your local "Fag", "Dyke" or "Tranny" neighbour. Pride is about everyday civil rights, everyday equality for all people. Pride is a call for the urgent need to protect all LGBTQ people from abuse, physical assault and murder done under the banner of anti LGBTQ  HATE CRIME! In a way, it was this is that urked me because Pride was lovely, it was a nice place to be in the park, safe among the other straight and LGBTQ folks. But I have been in that very same park on other days when the Police are not there waving their rainbow flags, when the cola sellers are not wearing a rainbow badge and I have been verbally abused for simply being myself, for minding my own business and not caring that I am a member of the LGBTQ community and for not asking the local thugs for their permission to exist in peace!

I worry that the serious message of Pride is being lost under the happy noise, under the laughter and under the joy. LGBTQ people the world over are still being denied their rights or are being murdered. In this country at the moment, the Government has just created an alliance with a political group who have actively voted against marriage equality for LGBTQ people. You can imagine how lonely the local Tory swines looked at their actively ignored table, given what they have just done. But was this the right approach? Surely I should have been there, in their faces, demanding to know what they plan to do about LGBTQ rights in Northern Ireland?

So I feel conflicted, I know that I should be enjoying Pride, I should be waving my flag and blowing my whistle, but I should also be raising my voice in anger, demanding the same rights and treatment as non LGBTQ people. I was asked today about the letters used to describe us by a well meaning friend. Some people (myself included) call our community "LGBTQ", with the Q meaning Queer. The question was this, does the use of the word queer carry the same conotation that it once did? There was after all a time when the word queer was used derisively, now it is addopted by some to carry the meaning of their polical, philosophical and cultural identity, particualrly among the gender conconforming members of our society. For those of you who are not aware of who these people are, these are the souls who do not identify as either male or female. Any bigots among you will now be shouting about there only being two genders and this is the one we are born as... blah blah blah. By adding the Q to LGBT, we are making a political statement, taking back a word that was once used to instill in us a fear response. We are making a stand for our siblings who do not fit into a binary gender/sexuality system and why should they have to?

One day I hope that we will no longer need to have Pride because it will be inconceivable to consider treating a person differently because of their sexuality or gender classification. It will instead be a social norm, just like in Star Trek, for marriage to mean love between human beings, for gender to mean what ever the person wants it to mean and for hate to be a thing of the past. Sadly I know that we have far too far still to go for this to happen, especially when nations are still making laws that discriminate. Yes, I am looking at you America, Russia, Africa, the Middle East and even still the UK. 

So next time some one mentions the phrase “Politically Correct” and moans about how this stops them making some vile bigoted statement, maybe remind that that what it actually means is speaking politely and considerately to another human being who is different from us in some way.
