Star bright words filtered through as Turgon woke. It was slow and he felt oddly heavy, as that heaviness registered it sent a spike of terror through him. Heaviness came with being drugged and that always meant Mairon. A soft touch to his cheek caused Turgon to give a minute flinch.

“Turu?” One of the star voices murmured softly.

He tried to drag himself up from the sleep and darkness his mind felt trapped inside. With equal effort he managed to open his eyes a little and there was golden hair filling his sight. Golden hair? No one there save Mairon kept hair that hue and the voice was wrong for the Maia.

More words, bright and dazzling and strangely incomprehensible. How long? How long had it been since he last heard those words? Too long, far too long. The gentle touch returned, caressing his cheek and smearing something wet and warm against his cheek. It took too long to realize that he was crying but when he did Turgon tried to stop.

“Shhh. It’s okay.” Slow, precise words, and Turgon realized he understood them. Those words brought others out of the depth of his mind where he’d buried them.

“Sorry.” He managed to whisper. His voice probably seemed mangled and hoarse to them.

Before he could say or do anything more Turgon was lifted up from the prone position he’d been in and hugged carefully close to the person with golden hair. He knew he should know them but he didn’t, and it didn’t matter, they still cared and were here. They held him close and murmured something in those star bright words.

okay last one for the night but. honestly i really hate how the franchise has been using loyalty to Rick as a shield for so long. If Rick was involved in a project or not doesn't matter, especially not anymore.

ReadRiordan and the publishing for the franchise has been using this tactic for ages - they obscure if any writing related to the series wasn't written by Rick unless it's special circumstances. It's near impossible to find out who the ghostwriters are (Stephanie True Peters and Mary-Jane Knight). TSATS was promoted as the first time we got a non-Riordan (Rick or Haley) author working on one of the companion novels despite having seven already existing ghostwritten books in the series. The only reason Mark Oshiro was emphasized so heavily for TSATS was because they also work as a sensitivity reader for topics such as queer identity, and Rick had received backlash in the past for being a Straight Cis Old White Guy repeatedly falling into bad habits (that he hasn't broken out of) with certain characterizations that he kept doubling-down on or retconning into oblivion. The show emphasizes that Rick was involved, but the LA Times article brings into question exactly how much he was involved, and it doesn't even really matter either way. The ReadRiordan site actively avoids putting any writing credits on their articles (or art credits...) or anywhere on their site.

Practically the entire fandom unanimously agrees the musical - which had zero involvement from Rick - is the best adaptation of the series so far, including the TV show. Some of the best writing to come out of the series recently was the stuff ghostwritten by Stephanie True Peters (Camp Half-Blood Confidential, Camp Jupiter Classified, Nine from the Nine Worlds, etc). And yet when promotional stuff is posted about CHB:C, there's clearly coded language used to hide the fact that Rick himself didn't write it. Yes, that's how ghostwriters work, but at this point we should really stop pretending "Rick Riordan" isn't just a pen name for a group of authors like "Erin Hunter" and that Rick is actually writing everything in the series. I can easily look up and see which Animorphs books were ghostwritten, and who those authors were. I can find every "Erin Hunter" easily listed on official sites. And yet most people don't even know the Riordanverse franchise has ghostwriters at all.

And the franchise is still trying to use the "Tio/Uncle Rick" stuff. Author loyalty and marketing parasocial relationships isn't going to save the franchise when the author himself can't hold up his own original themes or even keep basic series bible details straight, and especially not if the editors are barely if at all doing their job. And please at least get a goddamn series bible by this point.

In one moment everything was good. His parents accepted him as Phantom and were actively reworking their theories. In the next moment he felt like his core was about to shatter in millions of little pieces. His parents, sisters and friends died.

The explosion happened, even though it had been a different day, different circumstances and different reason. They wanted to celebrate his death day, to show him that they cared.

He was in so much agony from losing his fright, that he saw them to late. The Guys in White captured him, before he was even able to transform.

He never got an answer to how they knew he was Phantom, because ecto-scum didn't deserve anything.

Danny didn't know how long he had been there, only that they started to get careless. The GiW wanted to transport him to a new facility, but something happened outside and the Van had to stop.

The agents with him left him alone to deal with what ever had coursed the disturbance and he took his chance.

The door was unlocked.

The door was open.

He bolted.

He wasn't able to use his powers at the moment, because of the bracelet that contained them, but there was enough chaos for him to slip away, even locked into his human form.

After a good distance he looked down on himself. He wasn't wearing anything meant for the streets, just a fully covering medical gown.

So he started to look around the ally and he was lucky. In one of the dumpsters was some kind of costume. It seemed like a Halloween costume, but it was better than nothing.

He looked at it and deemed the Robin Costume a good fit and quickly changed in it. He even found the mask and shoes after some digging!

In his full Robin Costume he hurried to get further away. But luck was never on his good side, so it didn't take long for a rough looking agent to find him.

It only took one small shot out of the agents ecto-gun for Danny to crumble to the floor. And a few seconds later he felt fists and insults hitting him.

And maybe it was the lack of sleep, the loneliness, the pain or a combination of everything. But he knew that the only thing he wanted right now, was his Dad to save him and give him one of his world famous bear hugs.

And even though Danny knew that his Dad was gone, he couldn't hold his cries for his Dad in any longer.

"d-DAD!"

It only took a few seconds before the agent was flying away from him and Danny was lifted in the air, swinging up

"Robin, are you oka-? You are not Robi-. Are you okay chum?"

Made my very own tiny dungeon meshi dragon plush, that’s based on the version that only appears in the very last chapter for five pages and then is never seen again. I think it turned out pretty well.

I used this pattern to make it with some minor tweaks to the body, tails and legs and then just made some tiny cones for the horns at the end. If anyone would be intersted I might post the alterations and where to apply them but go check out the original pattern! I stuffed it both with acylic stuffing but also some plastic pellets for a bit of extra weight. The eyes are done with french knots.

Going to be adding manga spoilers below the read more with pictures of what I tried to get it to look like.
