Valentine's gift for @amalia-uwu ♡ Enjoy!

A short ficlet (350 words) under the cut. SFW, but a bit suggestive because I just can't behave.

You wake up to the rustle of the bedsheets.

The cold, spring air somehow sneaked into your bedroom and filled your lungs.

Who has left the window open again?

Not you, that's for sure.

Frowning in discomfort, you curl up and realise that bony hands are wrapping a blanket around you. The phalanges click softly against each other as Sans pulls the blanket all the way up to your nose. Immediately you grab it with cold hands and hide your face in it.

"good morning, starlight…"

His deep voice, still groggy from sleep, encourages you to finally open your eyes. Sans lies back down with a sigh. You look at the beautiful crescents of his closed eyelids and watch his smile widen as you answer his greeting.

Even though you are freezing, you take your hand out of the blanket cocoon and reach to caress his round face.

How are his cheeks so soft?

"heh, i thought i was in trouble, but i see you coldn’t care less."

You sigh at the terrible pun and remind him that he's the one who is going to help you around if you catch a flu.

He chuckles in that special way which makes you roll your eyes and close them, because you know what's coming.

You feel him lean closer to you. Warm breath on your face. Sharp nasal ridge poking your nose.

"i could tell you a joke about the flu… but you are not going to get it.

Despite your sincere efforts, you snort with laughter, less because of what he said but more because of how he said it. So happy and giggly. Ridiculously adorable.

Groaning with fake annoyance, you lift your blanket and pull him flush against you, enveloping you both with the fluffy fabric. You keep your embrace tight as he playfully tries to wriggle out of it.

He stops the moment you kiss his forehead and murmur something in a quiet voice. He listens. With your hand on his back you feel his ribcage expanding as he inhales deeply. Magic warms up his bones.

Not even slightly.

Did I decide to make this anyway because I love @somerandomdudelmao 's apocalyptic series?

You bet your sweet ass I did.

Here's a clip of my extremely rough draft!

For context, I made this back when Donnie and Casey were preparing to bring Raph back, but I completely forgot about it. I recently found it again - and in anticipation for Leo's return - I added an epic Donnie fighting scene (+more angst)! I have the rest of the animatic mostly figured out, so whenever that's done and looking better, I'll share it. As for now, I've been staring at this for too long and need to post it before the self doubt kicks in.

I was talking about this with a friend but it makes me so fired up that I honestly need to rant about it here too-

As I've talked about before, Zane and Kai make an excellent team because Kai takes action when it's needed even if he doesn't totally think it through and Zane doesn't take action until he's considered all the information he has into a reasonable response.

The reason his bye felica moment in season 8 was so scary was because he looked at that situation, thought it through, realized he barely had any information to go off of, and did it anyway. Do you understand how out of character that is for him?? Do you even know how well that ties in to how hard Mr. E fucked him up? Like- Zane thought, became fully aware how stupid and risky the actions he was about to take were going to be, AND DID IT ANYWAY What's worse is that, while this is fairly normal behavior for him when it's only himself that's in immediate danger thanks to his actions, HE DRAGGED COLE INTO IT FULLY INTENDING TO HELP THE BAD GUYS KIDNAP HIM

Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing? Because I'm seeing that the reason Zane started appearing so fucking desperate and panicked by the time he and Mr. E started fighting was because he played incredibly riskily to get more information, put one of his family members in immediate risk and hoped the others would understand the plan only to get so far and gain absolutely nothing from risking his life and Cole's.

I am. Not okay.

I hate my life and my mind and everything. I don't know how I even managed to ever get good grades. It's 12 hours until my M.A Thesis defense. I haven't even made the damned PowerPoint yet. I've tried. I've spent the entirety of the last week trying that. Yet, basically all I've done is stare at my computer, draft, delete, draft, delete, on and on and on. I can't even focus enough to read my whole thesis again. I CANNOT do this. I try and focus and I just can't. There's absolutely no way I can do this. I have twelve hours. Fuck.
