"Fabulous not Gay!"

Now, I fully support the LGBT movement wholeheartedly and am a strong advocate for equality for all; whether that is sexuality, race, gender, sex, status, etc. However, I've realised that people - a large majority of which are LGBT members themselves - are distancing their sexuality or identifying gender by half-jokingly stating they are "fabulous!", realising that this isn't defeating prejudice towards LGBT members or enforcing more of an acceptance, but rather allows for people to almost ridicule LGBT members because they are seen as a joke and aren't taken seriously as a result of this. Although my opinion is the least relevant to anyone's life, (and although many others share this opinion with me) I, personally believe, that the only way to conquer LGBT discrimination and prejudice is to consider it a serious matter and shouldn't compare sexual orientations or gender identities with the dehumanising, mocking adjective 'fabulous': which has gained connotations of irregularity.

How excited I got defending statistics and their procedures in an English journal. Because the authors continually stated that statistics were out to 'deceive' people, as if numbers could talk.
