House Keeping 2/6/23

There is no Thirst Trap Thursday this week

I'm not in a great place right now mentally or physically and so doing the extra work to fill the queue is just some added stress I don't need right now. Hopefully, it will return here in the next couple of weeks when I get myself sorted back out.

I'm fine. I'm not in any immediate danger and I have a really wonderful support system so. I can muddle through. But, I appreciate all of you. Your kindness, patience, and encouragement. We're not quite to hiatus levels of bad- I don't anticipate things getting that bad. This blog is as much a coping skill for me as it is for so many of you.

Other than that, there's not much to say. I'm still here, still writing, and figuring stuff out.

Note to Followers

If you follow me, you've probably notice that lately I'm posting a shit load of stuff about abortion.

Like many people, I'm terrified and infuriated by the draft leak and the plans of politicians to ban all abortions. It's hard to deal with because it feels like there's a lot of silence. Not many corporations are speaking out, and a lot of news articles don't mention concrete movement or changes. I'm trying to do what I can by donating and writing politicians and companies, but I simply don't have the money to go to D.C. to protest. I was able to attend a protest near me, but I haven't heard of any more in my area.

For me, posting about abortion on Tumblr is the best way of coping that I have right now. I hope that I am able to spread the word about news, protests, petitions, etc. This is probably going to continue for the foreseeable future.

I just wanted to let my followers know because I know a lot of people go on Tumblr to get a break from what's happening. For those people, you might want to unfollow me. It's not that I don't want you to follow me, but I would hate for someone looking for a distraction to see a ton of posts on their dash about things they're trying to avoid.

Everybody is asking for you to be available to them, nobody cares about how you are and what you are going through. In the end, if you are having a bad day, you are guilty because you were not helping them out this one time.

You have a life too. Prioritize yourself. Do not let people, who do not care about your health as well, in. You deserve the same type of treatment you are giving to people. Don't ever forget that.

Maybe I'll sound little cruel,

but you just can't save everyone around you. You can't help someone who doesn't really need your help. Some people just don't want to be saved.
