Takeaway treat during lockdown: MARLINGS. We got a chow mein, sesame ‘prawns’, sweet and sour ‘chicken’ balls, salt pepper chilli tofu and a hot and sour soup (which was far too spicy for our taste, but there we go).

Hello lovelies! Hope you were/are all able to celebrate your respective spring holidays. I know it is hard not being able to gather with your loved ones and fellow devotees. Hopefully videochat and good food is able to lift the mood. And a story about my cats. While I am agnostic (believes in a bigger, neutral force [that may or may not dislike me for reasons unknown], but not in any one religion), I still make a slightly fancier dinner for zombie, I mean Easter, Sunday. My one kitter, Aster (pictured), decided that cat food and a special treat wasn't enough for her. In the past week she has been subjected to a storm, a power/heat outage, less human interaction, and I didn't change her puzzle feeder on schedule. She deserves more than her favorite treat in the world. She deserves my human dinner. And she decided to join us, whether we liked it or not. It wasn't hard to get on the table. On her hind legs, she's almost as tall. And given the size of my apartment, she can step over from the couch. Thankfully, we were able to get her off the table and away from our ham and assorted veg before she could eat anything detrimental (we cook with lots of garlic). But that didn't stop her. Nope. We decided to digest before clearing the table of dishes. And cue her hopping up and trying to eat the squash. Other than doing the dishes, what stopped her was the opening of a window. It was warm enough today and no cat of mine thinks twice about being able to chitter at birds with a breeze. We ordered donuts from the Happy Donut and had them delivered. We chose oreo, biscoff and hazelnut chocolate. They were very nice, but a little pricey so it was a one off treat.
