In the mighty nein, when the party finally reunites Nott with Yeza, and begins to try to warn Yeza ahead of time about her new appearence, she asks Jester to help if Yeza is he gets too upset. To which Jester responds by warning Yeza that she will cut him if he is upset.

The players laugh, and Sam is quick to say "I meant like restrain. He is my husband after all". to which Laura doubles down by having Jester tell Yeza to "not hurt her friend".

And I think that is an underappreciated bit of the Jester/Nott dynamic, that Jester is already prepared for the worst. And that no matter who Yeza is or what Nott thinks, she knows that it won't be Nott's fault if things go poorly.

First impression: ngl I found her slightly grating early on. Like, fun, but some of the unicorn hamster stuff had me like girl you've been accused of murder. girl there's a town on fire. can you focus.

Impression now: great. Laura excels in quiet, background character development and by the Pirates arc my issues with Jester were resolved; by late campaign she had fully shot up in my estimation.

Favorite moment: episode 2x72 you will always be perfect; she reads smut to ghosts, she decides she's going to rid him of Uk'otoa, she is like *loudest stage whisper possible* FJORD YOU FORGOT YOUR FAKE VOICE, genuinely iconic.

Idea for a story: mystery story set in Nicodranas in which a camp counselor/apothecary and an artist/gallery owner solve it. Nott the Best Detective Agency rides again.

Unpopular opinion: I mean, she's subject to the "aw a sweet baby who is also immensely powerful and can do no wrong and is too special to die and if you acknowledge or engage with her flaws beyond some quirky awkwardness/clumsiness a la a 90s romcom woman, I will claim you hate her" issues that plague Imogen and Keyleth, unfortunately. For some reason every campaign you get a young-ish female character that a bunch of people are like CLEARLY she is the most special and then proceed to treat her like a fucking toddler beauty queen of a person and it's very tiresome.

Favorite relationship: Fjord, and this includes the platonic and even distant stretch during the Xhorhas arc. That said Jester's friendships with Veth and Yasha are severely underrated.

Favorite headcanon: somewhere along the Menagerie Coast there is a feral horse wearing a dress. It becomes a legend.
