The hero burst through the wall of the library in my secret liar. Fortunately not one of the walls that had bookshelves on it.

"This ends now, Doctor Calamity! You are going to prison for the rest of your life!"

I sighed, closed my book, and looked up at Admiral Nova. "Can it wait? Kind of on vacation right now."

"Your only vacation is going to be-", he started, and stopped when a forcefield popped up around him, at which point he just started uselessly blasting it with his lasers.

"No, seriously, it's not a good time. I was really getting into this new book series? Well, new to me, it's been going on for a couple decades now, I'm really surprised it... you're not paying attention at all, are you. Full body restraints, please."

At my command, bands of energy wrapped themselves around Nova's every limb, immobilising him. Smaller versions of the forcefield appear around his hands, in case he was going to be rude enough to fire an unaimed blast in my library. He struggled, but there was much less noise going on.

"Right. I really don't have anything scheduled for you for this week, so I don't know why you decided to show up, but can we just agree to ignore this and I'll have some diabolical scheme for you to thwart by next Monday?"

"I don't know what game you think you're playing, but I will escape-", he started, but I cut him off

"You don't need to, I can just send you home right now, assuming you agree to let me have my vacation"

"You're pretending you're not gonna try to kill me, is that it?"

"Why on Earth would I want to kill you?"

"...because I'm always thwarting your evil plans to take over the world? And you keep putting me in death contraptions like this one?"

"Oh my god you're serious aren't you. I thought you just had a thing against dropping character, which, whatever, your business, but you really are serious about this."

"Of course I'm serious about saving the world from you! You're a supervillain!"

"Dude. How have you not figured it out yet. If I wanted you dead, you would be. If I wanted my 'diabolical plans' to succeed, they would have."

"Did you get hit on the head or something?" he sneered. "Is 'Oh I never wanted to take over the world' your feeble attempt at psychological warfare"

"I took over the world decades ago, genius. There's no trying involved. I just-" I took a deep breath, and continued.

"You've seen what I can do! I have an unlimited power source! I can mass-produce sentient robots! I can build mind control beams! I have a time machine that lets me alter the past and see the future!

"And you think some asshole with lasers can pose a meaningful obstacle???"

He did not respond.

"Nova. You've been doing this for six years. Six. Fucking. Years. How on Earth have you never gotten suspicious about how you keep escaping my 'death traps' at the last second, and random clues to figure out my 'evil scheme' show up out of nowhere whenever you need one, and I never just send a fucking robot army to your house, which you know I know the address of, and kill you in your sleep?"

"Why? Why the hell do you do any of it then?"

"For fun, obviously? And I figured you hero types could use the enrichment, too, if you don't have a supervillain to fight you lot just get restless and decide you need to go beat up purse snatchers or whatever.

"So yes, after I finished replacing every world leader with robot doppelgangers loyal to me and getting a supercomputer to spy on everyone on the planet to detect plans that could potentially overthrow me and setting up a handful other layers of redundancy like that, and after I got bored of micromanaging shit and figured out that I had the system running basically as I liked it, I got a hobby. And I thought you were having fun too, but seriously? You thought it was all real?"

I waved my hand, and Nova teleported out.

"Computer!" I yelled out. I needn't have; it would have shown up anyway. Omniscient smartass.

Immediately, of course, a holographic eye appeared.

"What the hell" I asked.

"You specifically instructed me on the spoiler policy, boss. We can step through the rules if you like, but this definitely falls under 'Don't tell me if it'd spoil my fun', and under none of the stated exceptions."

"We're fucking recalibrating that, then. Jesus."

Chronotrek: Disco Season 2 Part 4?

Episode 11

mmm body horror. exactly what i like over my mac and cheese :joy:

I really like this kind of intro where there's a bunch of images that you can contextualize differently as the season goes on. it's like a scavenger hunt.

Michael's face journeys are always such a sight to see. Her indignance when she hears that her mom doesn't want her to come down.

lol "Hamlet. Hell, yeah."

Mom's like 'I feel nothing about you because all life is going to die.' Michael's like 'I will feel for both of us.'

Did they have to flashback the "unacceptable risk to the larger mission"? They don't trust us to remember the 'unique turn of phrase' we just heard in the last scene?

As soon as Mom did the UNO Reverse and started talking about how much she was there with Michael, watching, I knew she wasn't going to come back any time (haha) soon.

Episode 12

I feel... I dunno, disappointed? in the direction this went. There was time fuckery and everything... and it just boils down to Evil AI? An Evil AI that was supposedly already killed, but 'not really because I said so'. With a hefty dose of 'nothing you're doing is working because I said so'. Maybe I'm just feeling frustrated like Michael is :joy:

The biological imperative of protecting a child is... idk, I don't like it in pretty much any context. It feels lazy and reductive. Add it to Ash's story, a story I'm already unenthused about, and it only makes me dislike it more. "This child I've never met is my child and I would do literally anything to protect them because they are made of me." Ugh. Like. I think I don't like it because of the assumed elevation of biological parenthood and procreation over everything else, the assumption that bio parents are best parents, that all parents feel this way. The way it's lumped in with 'you might not want kids now, but if you have one, you'll connect and change and feel it later'.

I remember seeing somewhere that God does not exist in Star Trek. But that's at least twice now "God" has been referenced by characters in this show. Did they slip, or did they make the active choice to go against the old standard?

This whole 'capture it in a cage of a new system' thing doesn't feel like how computers work. Or why they're getting under the floor to do things. It feels forced like so much of this arc. Now... Gant being 'infected'? That I saw coming.

I don't know, maybe they just needed to make it a threat that could be seen and interacted with because 1) TV is a visual medium and 2) it might be hard to understand what's happening without it.

I couldn't explain it if I tried. "The crystals cause things to age fast." There, explained it :joy:

Episode 13

Those evacuation corridors were hot. lol I love seeing the way they bring the science to life. Though the folding/unfolding thing would be very.. questionable to me. Lots of stress on the joints.

You know... even though I knew they go to the future (which is why I don't get to watch Disco season 3+ until after I watch everything else), I somehow didn't see this coming?? Like. I don't know why? I assumed it was some accidental thing or something (maybe because I thought there were still several episodes left in this season). Even though again

I knew Disco season 3+ is in the future

I know that the plan was originally to send the data with the suit into the future

lmao Georgiou: simply find a nova and fire an antimatter torpedo into its core. Saru: We'd be responsible for the loss of life through dozens of light years Georgiou: Uh... yeah. Michael: We're not doing that. G: I thought there were no bad ideas. Pike/Admiral: That's a bad one. That's a lie.

Which genius built that? My mom. I had a special mom too. Georgiou: Ugh.

That was like three sentences and it still made me want to cry.

Listen I just want to repeat every line Georgiou has. 'like a galactic rubber band with a martyr complex.'

Oh no, now I am crying at this Sarek, Amanda, Michael scene.

And everyone standing with her :sob: But god leave Ash behind please.

Oh yay! lol ....ugh.

Oh no, all the going away messages :sob: They're just trying to wreck me.

Wait, Spock can't go. He's in the other ones.

So weird that 'parade rest' is the kind of informal salute of respect for Starfleet.

The cage is slowing things down, so Tilly calls for help, but not from Po? Who made the cage? Who already said she's not leaving? And was verified to not be back on her planet yet? Where's she at?

God I'm stressed. I'm almost glad I have to go back to work and can't watch the finale yet.

4 hours later... seriously i think i cried so much i gave myself a headache that is STILL HERE.

Episode 14

"Leland! We were just talking about you. Everybody hates you. Congratulations."

Man... I gotta say I'm kinda surprised that they were surprised that the 31 ships were nano-botted into micro-ships by Control.

At some point the people on Discovery have to realize that they're actually more likely to survive this battle than the folks on Enterprise, right? Like... yeah, they're going into the future and leaving everyone they've ever known behind, but at least they'll be alive.

Going to give my usual 'evasive actions and attack patterns being prescripted is silly' speech... like chess moves being memorized, especially playing against an AI. The only way to win is to be surprising. Anyway.

They're surrounded (but still in planar orientation, like a disc, not a sphere) but they still say all power to forward shields??

Get off my ass! Sir. Get off my ass, sir!

"Starboard shields..." and then they turn 90 degrees and show their whole topside against the enemy like a shield. Wish they'd like... use the terminology they're showing.

This cocoon thing is stressing me out. It's so well designed to explain exactly what's happening, and it isn't confusing like a lot of action scenes can be.

The DOT 7s are adorable.

Shouldn't the two big ships also be moving? Like... they're sitting ducks. Go up or down and move. Space is 3 dimensional.

You're my home. :sob:

Such a cool way to portray going through the time wormhole, with time turning into a static image on a plane of glass, seen from behind with the textured hole around emptiness... In other jumps, it looks like a CD.

Ok as much shit as I give them for making stuff up to make it sound scientific, this fight on the walls and ceiling is fun.

Why are captains so goddamn self-sacrificing? _You don't sacrifice the queen or king without good goddamn reason._

Are they really asking how she's gonna guide them through DURING THE FIGHT?? Shouldn't this have been figured out before?

And why aren't the people working on the torpedo in EV suits just in case they get ripped out into space? I guess it's faster that way.

Why was the effect of that torpedo so much worse than normal ones? Don't they fire those all the time?

Ah, so that's why Spock stays.

Y'all. _People are dying._ Hurry this up. lol

Fuckin Enterprise looks like someone took a bite out of the cookie.

lol how convenient that "we have sworn to never speak your name with others' to explain why Spock, who is so central to TOS, never mentions a sibling.

He looks so different all cleaned up.

And that's it for Discovery until I get through all 1000 hours of the rest of the entire fucking series of serieses! lmao

looks like I have a couple short treks to get to before we move on to Strange New Worlds.

-After Arc 1, he becomes an overused OP Gary Stue whose only personality trait is "must protect" and "fight to protect" to the point where he is the only character to progress the plot. Despite being powerful, he has a severe lack of talent and knowledge that could have been utilized early on in the series but never was.

-Harbors complete opposite, ancient enemies that get along as roommates and even combine powers for the sake of their wielder, who they in one way or another, love and/or want to protect.

Gibson from SRMTHFG:

-'Mother' figure of the team who, despite being a logistical mathematician and scientist, still deeply cares for his team members, and steps out of his comfort zone for their sakes. Feels lonely because of the other Team Member's lack of interest in the subjects he adores along with his level of intelligence. His arrogance makes him underestimate his fellow team members like Otto, who is an autistic-coded genius engineer who often secretly rivals Gibson's intellect.

-An adaptable character that uses his smarts to utilize his environment and tools to escape tricky situations or create solutions. However fascinating, he can be a boring character. Watching him on screen with other dynamics is more interesting. His foil SPRX, his intelligent but silly rival Otto, the hot-headed Nova, the wise & calm father figure Antauri, and his student / young member of the team with a thirst for knowledge Chiro. Seeing Gibson interact with them often results in comedy, challenge, and character development.

-Seeing him succumb to the Skeleton King Virus and nearly succumb to the Ice Crystal of Vengeance means his arrogance and taste for scientific study (ergo, wanting to "dissect" the team) can fall prey to evil tendencies, yet he still sticks to his team and wants to be helpful for the sake of peace.

Shockwave and Swift Reaper: Shock absorbtion, shockwave, super-human strenght, shock redistribution, electricity resistant, speedster when absorbing a lot of electricity, excellent balance.

Raven Queen/Revna: Pinpoint accuracy, bow and arrow mastery, stealth expert, peak human speed.

Dribbler/Marc Banks: Augmenting speed. His speed gets higher with time, at the time of Saving Flame, he's fast enough to win fights without too much trouble. Cosmic awerness when in another universe

Deafoe: Sound waves manipulation, sound attack.

Snowglobe: No powers

Trickshot: Pinpoint accuracy, gun mastery

Esmerelda Jakobs: Earth control

Starshine/Marie: Flight, super strenght, enhanced senses, and super durability during the night. Is stronger/weaker depending on the phase of the moon. Gets her powers after getting exposed to moon light while hit by a powering ray, similar, but weaker to the one that caused superpowers before.

Dearsbone/Darius Redforn: No powers, just peak human killer, tactical genius.

The Wyvern: Flight, fire breath, super strenght.

Nathan Varmilion, AKA Lasso: No powers, uses a special lasso, with a mix of magic and technology

The Macaque: Super hearing, enhanced strenght, shadow control, low omnipotence

Irkwing: rock and metal wings that form from materials around them

Gentleghost: No powers, just pure skill

Closeup: Ace of all trades in magic

Hermes's incarnation: Super speed, super hearing, can run on air.

Once upon a time, in the distant future of Universe 2776, a group of intergalactic heroes known as the Crystal Vixens embarked on a mission to save the galaxy from an impending doom. Led by their fearless captain, Nova, the Crystal Vixens were a diverse team of warriors, each possessing unique abilities and powers.

As the story begins, the Crystal Vixens find themselves aboard their spaceship, the Stardust, hurtling through the vastness of space. The team is gathered in the control room, discussing their next move.

Nova, a strong and determined leader, addresses her team. "Alright, team, listen up. We've received intel that the evil Drakon Empire is planning to unleash a deadly weapon capable of destroying entire planets. Our mission is to infiltrate their stronghold and neutralize the threat before it's too late."

Luna, the team's resident tech genius, chimes in. "Captain, I've managed to hack into their communication system. It seems they're holding the weapon on their flagship, the Darkstar. It's heavily guarded, but I've found a weak spot in their defense system."

Nova nods, impressed. "Good work, Luna. That's our way in. Sapphire, I need you to use your telekinetic powers to disable their security systems once we're on board. Can you handle it?"

Sapphire, a calm and collected telepath, nods confidently. "Consider it done, Captain. I'll make sure their defenses are nothing more than a breeze."

As the team prepares for their mission, Blaze, a fiery warrior with the ability to control fire, speaks up. "Nova, what's the plan once we're inside? We can't just waltz in and hope for the best."

Nova smirks, her eyes gleaming with determination. "Blaze, once we're inside, we'll split into two teams. Luna, Sapphire, and I will head to the control room to disable the weapon. Meanwhile, Blaze, I need you and Frost to create a diversion and keep the guards occupied."

Frost, a stoic warrior with the power to manipulate ice, nods in agreement. "Consider it done, Captain. We'll make sure they're too busy dealing with us to notice what's happening elsewhere."

With their plan in place, the Crystal Vixens set course for the Darkstar, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead. As they approach the enemy stronghold, tension fills the air, but their unwavering determination keeps them focused.

Once aboard the Darkstar, the team splits up, executing their roles flawlessly. Luna hacks into the control room, disabling the weapon's systems, while Sapphire uses her telekinetic powers to fend off any guards that come their way.

Meanwhile, Blaze and Frost engage in a fierce battle with the Drakon Empire's soldiers, their powers clashing with the enemy's advanced weaponry. The distraction they create allows Luna, Nova, and Sapphire to complete their mission successfully.

As the Crystal Vixens regroup, they make their way back to the Stardust, victorious. Nova addresses her team, pride evident in her voice. "Well done, everyone. We've saved countless lives today. The galaxy owes us a debt of gratitude."

The team exchanges smiles and nods, knowing that their mission is far from over. The Crystal Vixens, united and stronger than ever, continue their journey through Universe 2776, ready to face any challenge that comes their way.

And so, the Crystal Vixens of Universe 2776 continue to protect the galaxy, their adventures driven by their unwavering courage and the power of their unity.

the traitor; traidor. pessoa que fingia ser ou era amiga, mas traiu a confiança de alguém com ou sem motivos; não tinha/tem suspeita de que iria cometer traição, porém ainda assim o fez.
