so on the subject of the "Crowley is secretly Revaan/Laverne/Levin/please Twst give us his name" theory, I think my feelings are best summed up as "I don't really buy it, but it's funny". like, in all seriousness, I'm not opposed to it; I have enjoyed the writing in Twst so far and I'm willing to trust that whatever happens will, you know, make sense and not be terrible. but I'm just not really convinced by the current evidence! maybe that'll change once we learn more, we'll see!

with that said, may I propose a few alternate theories about the possible Crowley/Revaan connection:

Every time I do a little reread of the TCF manhwa and my faborite novel bits I fall in love with Cale and Raon just a little bit more. Their relationship has always been the most emotional core of TCF to me even when Cale definitely has very emotionally charged relationships with other characters. How can I not think so when I read the entire "Raon, don't be like me." and "If Raon had to chose between saving the world and one human he would always choose Cale. He could never forget the arms of the person who carried him out of that cave." Hell even the scene around the 250's when Raon escapes the first growth phase and curls up right next to Cale the same place he sleeps every night and even roiling in pain Cale tries to pat his head. i may be really reaching here but when crowley says 'who tried very hard to kill you, to cast you into hellfire and destroy you', that's the only reason he gives to hating gabriel. he's not willing to give this clearly ditzy and amnesic archangel a single chance because he was involved in aziraphale's execution and he clocked that he's a generally shitty guy. he doesn't say 'he's an asshole' or anything like that, it's the only reason he gives.

plus, he says 'he's not OUR friend'. He could have easily said 'he's not YOUR friend', but gabriel's actions was an attack on crowley as well as aziraphale, as crowley was the one to stand in the burning bookshop, thinking that his angel had been killed, and was ordered to step into hellfire in a cutthroat manner posed as aziraphale. it gets to the point to the point where aziraphale, the one who was attempted to be executed and has been pushed around by gabriel all his life, gives gabriel more slack than crowley, who only knows gabriel off of the fact that a. he tried to kill azi b. he's been treating azi badly for millenia

plus, we don't know if he knew gabriel before he fell from heaven, and if he did, he doesn't mention it in the 'why gabriel is a bad person so he should not be our adopted son 101' mini presentation, so if he did know gabriel before and gabriel was most likely part of the falling, he doesn't mention anything like 'i knew him before he was a dick', because the ONLY THING that matters to crowley is that gabriel's a dick to aziraphale, something that even AZIRAPHALE HIMSELF cast aside because he wanted to help gabriel, it doesn't matter what gabriel did to him, it doesn't matter that he inadvertantly tried to execute crowley, it only matters what he did to azi, and he's afraid that he'll do it again now he's back. crowley is so scared to lose aziraphale again it's insane also... kind of an underrated “frankfurters” type genius moment of Ed’s is honestly what he saw in Stede from the very beginning. like it’s objectively hilarious and endearing that he saw that pasty cringefail man bleeding to death and was like “I need him” but like…beyond the fascination even, I feel like he knew. he’s always playing the long game. he knew Stede was a “cool pirate,” that he was more than he seemed on the surface, was worth giving notice to—that he’d be something. it’s exactly what Ed is best at, and what makes him so successful: he sees the utility and potential in what others tend to ignore. trash as treasure, if you will. and of course, as usual, he’s right.

I’m bored and thought of another scenario to put in tension and angst for obey me characters to go through. I like this one by the way.

Sorcerers’ society find out the causes of earthquakes happening faster than usual was MC due to their magic potential (MC being the cause of all the natural ‘phenomenon’ in S2) and now want to investigate MC and call them in.

Drama has already started baby.

Solomon who’s against this but goes with MC to make sure they’re ok because it’s not a good idea to ignore a seemingly threat invitation I mean.

It’s explained the Ring of light was used to console MC’s magic and everything is fine now but they’re doubting it and want to investigate the Ring of light for themselves, if it’s actually successfuly tamed their magic or just a temporary device to tone it down- simply meaning if MC’s overflow of magic would still be leaking and not fully restrained.

[Also add overprotective Solomon drama who’s against this because that’s hot and more dramatic]

It’s found out the ring of light isn’t powerful enough to completely prevent MC’s magic from overflowing and now…

The sorcerers’ society have deemed MC a threat. A large threat to the human world.

Who would be better off dead. No. SHOULD be dead.
