The more I read the leaks and see the  gauntlet that All Might uses to "exploit" AFO, my mind is torn between two points. One that gauntlet wasn’t there before, in the previous chapter we had a view of his hand completely naked, so, it’s a mistake by Horikoshi that he may not even try to justify and he’s going for the typical " the magic of the manga"? Or is it a reference to the  movie Two Heroes? Also is this the end of AFO and Toshinori?  here I sincerely doubt, before I had said that Toshi's life was 50/50, if we talk about his carácter development we can justify both his death and his survival. If he dies it's fine because he learned that he wanted live but this didn’t mean that he wouldn’t die later  and if he lives, it’s fine because his character changed destiny and will survive, if this was Nigtheye's prediction, then this fact was immutable and perhaps his quirk only showed him a distorted vision without all the context, I remember that Nighteye said  his quirk the more he extended to see the person's future, the blurrier it looked.

Regarding AFO, the question is left as to whether he will or not die, I also talked about this before when we had some long chapters with him vs the héroes. AFO could die in the hands of Hawks and co or win at the last moment. When AM appeared it would have been the same but it gave more uncertainty, for one it would make sense that AM would be the one to end the original AFO because their relationship is established, Horikoshi could adopt this path and it would feel organic due their story. Now we don't know what happened but  honestly, I don't think AFO is dead, in the same way that I don't think Toshinori is going to die, but like I said, it's a 50/50.

To finish, I hope that we return to Tomura and Izuku in the next chapter and I have a feeling of bitterness because if Toshinori dies before he and Izuku could have a better conversation than the lackluster meeting at UA. I will be very disappointed, especially because If there is someone with whom I would have liked to see Izuku share his view of Tomura, it’s All Might considering how all this can be a good moment between mentor and student.

I found a guy on Etsy selling uranium dishware and lost my mind because it was $8, which is literally cheaper than Walmart, and then went on a rabbit hunt to find out if he was selling plates with glow in the dark fluid mixed in or actual uranium plates. And two hours later:

Yeah they still make uranium dishware actually.

The dishware is made with uranium dioxide, often depleted, but not always. I want to say that the uranium isotope content is different after 1950 for obvious reasons, but I didn't dig that deep. I don't feel comfortable eating off of plates pre-1950 yet.

I read a uranium toxicology report and: Kidney damage and respiratory damage are the most common uranium issues from dermal contact and inhalation. If you take uranium orally, apparently you just... poop it out.

So yeah, even if these plates have uranium in them and they are hot, so long as it's not made with enriched uranium, which they wouldn't be in current day, I guess they are technically safe to eat off of.

I'm sick as a dog, but at least it gave me the time to stay home and finish this update! This special though is definitely going to be lasting through into the new year, but I figure I would rather take the time to see it to completion rather than try to stuff it into some arbitrary date. It was so fun finally getting to do Casey Sr and Raph though. I wanted to give these two some time to shine since we see so little of them in Replica.

MOTHEROOD/CASEY TED TALK TIME UNDER THE CUT

I will admit... I've never been a big fan of the dumpster baby scenario for Casey Jr. It's not a bad scenario at all! Plenty of amazing stories have used it and it certainly embraces the "found family" theme of TMNT. It just always seemed a little unrealistic given the harsh state of the world (or at least as unrealistic as you can get in a story about brain aliens and mutant turtles haha). It's certainly an easier and simpler setup (removes the dad out of the picture for sure) but I wonder sometimes if this choice of origin story gets picked a lot simply because it's difficult to envision Cassandra going through pregnancy and typical motherhood willingly. However, if that's the core reason, I feel as if that does her character a great disservice!

After re-watching a few episodes with her, it's shocking the amount of depth of character Cassandra has (even compared to some in the main cast). I love her because while she's a passionate woman who makes mistakes, she's also extremely introspective and sensitive (something we see a great deal in the Brownie episode).

While I have never been a mother myself, a good number of my closest friends have been. Some of whom I could have NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS seen becoming mothers. Yet those people end up becoming some of the most amazing moms I've ever seen. Being a mom changes you, both physically and mentally in a way that I think gets glossed over in general storytelling. While I can't necessarily show that change much in Replica, I can at least give a nod to the fact that Cassandra, for all her flaws, is an amazing woman who I think would be an awesome mom! Thank you as always for your support!
