1) Can lacrimas carry out multiple purposes at once? Or will they blend them? I'm assuming that this is possible, considering that the automaton in the ruins was using a lacrima as a brain

2) Has anyone tried to make tools or weapons out of lacrimas? I'm talking like chisel that needs no hammer. Or maybe a Fire lacrima on a bow that sets your arrows on fire

3) Can you engrave runes on lacrimas to make them affect themselves?

4) Where can I read more about the Twins? If I'm not wrong they're the creator gods, aided by the Light dragon and the Void dragon to create life, but I might be getting a wrong read on that

5) Since we see Erin successfully become the first Void mage, does that now mean there's potential for him to make a Void lacrima? The dragon probably won't allow it, but still

6) What exactly does elemental corruption of each element do? Fire literally burns you up, as we saw in Arc 1. I can infer that Life likely makes you a chimera. Void corruption makes you a cave crawler. But what do the other one do? Does Earth make you a statue? Does Wind disintegrate you, Thanos style?

7) Now onto the non-Aurora questions, is your art vector or raster? I believe it's vector, but it's always better to confirm

8) What are your opinions on reading into the environment and the character design to infer things about the character themselves? In any type of media

9) Have you played Baldur's Gate 3?

10) Do you have any music that you'd recommend? I've listened to every song I liked so many times that I hate them now.

Yes, it's possible. A lacrima can be engraved with multiple spells, set in a casing engraved with commands, or some combination of the two. Typically, all spells engraved directly on a lacrima will activate at once when the lacrima is "switched on", but a spell can be quite complex, and conditional activations are possible - "if-then-else" statements, basically.

Yes, magic items exist.

Generally no. If the lacrima is disrupted or broken, the spell generally stops functioning, so a self-affecting lacrima will run only as long as it takes for the lacrima to distort or break.

He probably could if he wanted to (and the Dragon allowed it) but Void energy is very dangerous, so he likely doesn't want to.

Each form of elemental corruption agitates the presence of the element in the mage's body. Earth corruption can damage or alter bones, encourage unhealthy petrification of soft tissues, etc. Wind corruption can have physical effects but it often most obviously produces breakdowns in the person's ability to speak or understand language. Lightning damages, numbs or intensifies a person's physical senses.

Raster, I draw with CSP's digital pens. I've only very briefly experimented with vector art - I don't like how it simplifies the lines.

I think it's a fun school of analysis but, like all literary analysis, it runs into trouble if it tries to lock down exactly what the writer was thinking or intending (which is an objective fact that one can be incorrect about) rather than trying to analyze the story on its own and what meaning might, intentionally or unintentionally, be factoring into it.

♡ An Edmond-Post for the struggling fanfic writers ♡

(NOTE: This post will be LONG. I tried to be thorough and include evidence.)

I feel an AGGRESSIVE MORAL OBLIGATION to make this post because of the writing homies that want to write Edmond into their fics, but feel like they don't know enough about him.

My recent Character-Ask post for Edmond might help you guys a little, but I think you could use more information.

The NU: Carnival Lore Spreadsheet (Google Sheets)

This isn't an Edmond-exclusive resource, but still helpful.

If you don't spend any time on the subreddit, you may not have seen this, but this is a fan-made lore spreadsheet contains information the game's world and each of the characters. It hasn't been updated for a little over 3 months, so it's a bit outdated, but it is teeming with practical information that can help familiarize you with characters' backgrounds and such.

(Quick note for Edmond's "Power" category-- although he is unfamiliar with actually using magic, in Frozen Echoes/Tranquil Cloud Edmond intimacy rooms, we discover that Edmond has recently started to practice magic (particularly Light/healing magic).)

2. The current Edmond Era (the most recent Ed Dynamic)

Many people seem to be intimidated by the prospect of writing Edmond because he's a "tsundere." However, to borrow the words from my Character Ask post, "that’s only out of habit (and shyness), rather an actual reflection of his desires." In other words, Ed's inner workings probably look something like this:

It also is noteworthy that, when Eiden initiates sexual activity, Edmond willingly goes along with him. By that I mean, he might scold Eiden a lot and say something to the effect of, "You are a pervert!" but he doesn't actually tell Eiden to stop what he's doing when they're starting out. And while it doesn't happen as often in recent rooms, the habitual "Stop♡" and "No♡" Edmond might say are very clearly insincere, considering his tone of voice (as well as his physical reactions).

And during the rare occasions where Ed does tell Eiden something like "Stop," Eiden will stop; but then Ed will look disappointed, so Eiden will ask him if he wants to continue, and Edmond will say yes. Here's an example of this type of exchange from Sweet Aroma R2:

There have also been times when [we can infer], at the beginning of H-activities, Eiden doesn't have as clear of a read on Edmond's opinion; in which case, he will verbally search for confirmation on whether he can do more. The most accessible example of this is Ed's SR R3:

While Eiden is still the one that initiates sexy activity (14/16 of the Ed H scenes), Edmond willingly goes along immediately. That is the crux of the typical Edmond dynamic: Edmond also has strong desires, but is usually too embarrassed to admit them, so he needs an understanding partner that will guide him along until he feels secure enough [and/or horny enough] to admit his wants.

Edmond is in a bit of a transition period right now. He's starting to be much more active in his H-activities with Eiden. He also might "blame" Eiden for his own desires, but he's beginning to own up to his feelings, too. From Tranquil Cloud R2:

3. Edmond Anatomy & Kinks

One word: SENSITIVE. Edmond is HELLA SENSITIVE.

(I'd argue he's even more sensitive than Olivine, but idk if you could consider that a definitive fact or not.)

If there's an area that can be considered a relatively common erogenous zone, it's most likely an erogenous zone on Edmond. Here's the one's that have been canonically confirmed or STRONGLY suggested:

Mouth - Edmond's mouth is very sensitive. When he kisses for the first time in Sweet Aroma, Eiden coaxes him into admitting which specific parts of his mouth are most sensitive; roof of his mouth, tongue, sides. Edmond likes kissing a LOT, and has initiated kisses himself at least 3 times (Elite Instructor R5, Flaming Secret R5, Tranquil Cloud R5)

Ears - Ed has a strong reaction in Tranquil Cloud R2 (Eiden blowing on his ear helps send him over the edge to finally cum)

Neck - Eiden kisses his neck and Ed has a verbal reaction in Tranquil Cloud R5

Nipples - Best example is in Sweet Aroma R2 (he can cum from nipple-play alone); also featured in Spring Chaos R2 and Elite Instructor R2

Hands - Many rooms include Suggestive Hand-Holding™ but White Lover R2 includes significant hand-pay

Stomach/Waist - White Lover R2 includes Eiden caressing Ed's stomach, and in Tranquil Cloud R2 Ed has a strong reaction to Eiden tightening his hold on his waist

Ass - In Elite Instructor R2 Edmond gets spanked and he is VERY into it

Penis - *obvious answer is obvious*

Anus - Has cum from anal-play alone multiple times (including fingering and rimming). It isn't explicitly sated, but I'm pretty sure Edmond's anus is more sensitive than his penis

Additional canon sexual preferences:

A Little Pain - As is famously known, Edmond enjoys a little pain during sex

Praise & Dirty Talk - Gets very embarrassed by it (and will usually scold Eiden) but he has strong positive reactions to it

Roleplay + Dom/Sub Undertones - We see it in SR R5; once Ed is convinced to try it out he gets extremely aroused and feels more comfortable engaging in *mild* dirty-talk himself. It's also sorta-kinda in Elite Instructor R2, but only a little bit on Eiden's part (calling Ed "teacher")

Kissing - I mentioned it before, but I must emphasize it again; EDMOND LOVES KISSING

Overstimulation - Most Ed intimacy rooms include some element of this

Semi-Public Sexy Stuff? - Depending on if you count sex-in-a-carriage, this happens in 7-8/16 intimacy rooms. Idk if this is necessarily Ed's personal kink, but Ed isn't exactly opposed to it as long as Eiden is being careful. He does appear to get excited when Edmond says something like "don't be too loud, or someone will come and see you like this!" From Elite Instructor R2:

4. Some Ao3 reading recommendation that you can use for Edmond-specific inspiration/references

As a passionate Edmond-Lover, here are some works of fanfic that I think do a particularly good job of writing Ed-relationships. Obviously (by the nature of fanfic) many of them take a lot of liberties, but when I was reading these stories, I didn't need to suspend my disbelief at all. The way Edmond acts in these stories feels very in-character to me.

(NOTE: All of these recommendations are NSFW where Edmond bottoms. Be sure to read their tags!)

Literally everything luster_candy has written (6 works at the time I'm posting this) - just be aware all of it is Eiden/Edmond.

Reprieve, Release by kkuro (~11k words) - Eiden/Edmond, one of the best (if not the best) BDSM-heavy Ed fics. Only note is, because this was written in 2022, Ed acts a bit more stiff/repressed in the beginning than he would now. In-character for Early Era Edmond tho.

A Helpful Hand by dracula (orphan_account) (~4.3k words) - Olivine/Edmond, Olivine tops (a rarity) and Ed is cursed with a V. Don't worry, Olivine-Lovers, he isn't a hella OOC sadist or ultra-masculine dom. XD Just very sweet and very horny, and Edmond is ruthlessly subjected to his brand of horny nonsense.

Do You Know Where the Wild Things Go by no birdstofly (~8k words) - Yakumo/Edmond, idk if it's OOC for Yakumo but it's in-character for Current Era slightly-more-honest Edmond.

The Knight's Discipline by RiyeRose (~3k words) - Restricted to Ao3 members, Kuya/Edmond. I subscribe to the belief that Ed would put up with Kuya if he were horny enough, which is why I don't consider this OOC. I think this fic has the perfect amount of BDSM that Ed would realistically enjoy.

Fanfic where Edmond tops is honestly very hard to come across. That's understandable, because for Edmond to top, there would have to be extremely special circumstances, and it would have to be written carefully in order to not seem too OOC. The best example of an Top-Emond fic I've been able to find is this:

Hidden Guidance by Okami01 (~1.9k words) - Edmond/Olivine, Edmond shyly admits he wants to try topping Olivine, and Oli is obviously down for it. (Let's be honest here; out of everyone, if Edmond were ever to top anyone, it would 100% be Olivine)

Have you played the AA Investigations games? If yes, what did you think of them? Sadly I was only able to play for myself the first one (I couldn't make the translation patch for the second one work :( ), and let's just say that the novelty of playing as Edgeworth wore off quickly lol. The second one was much more ambitious with some stellar character arcs and a memorable final villain, but of course it's still stuck in "only in Japan" limbo...

Yes! We played both Investigations, and Investigations 2 (fan patch) about 10 years ago. Currently, we're in the middle of watching a letsplay/fandub of the games because uh, yeah. We're not going to play through them again. They're the worst 'games'-- NOT the worst stories– in the AA series.

I definitely can't blame you for saying the novelty wore off quickly. Investigations has some serious flaws as a game and in structure. Which is an absolute shame, because the characters and stories are some of my favorites.

I absolutely adore Detective Badd, Agent Lang, Shih-Nah, and Kay Faraday from the first game, and Sebastian Debeste and Justine Courtney from the second game are some of my favorite characters in the whole series.

It's also absolutely fantastic to get to see more of Miles and Gumshoe together. I just love them as a mystery solving pair. They have such delightful energy. It probably helps that I'm a gumworth shipper from way back of course XD

But frankly, the fantastic characters, interesting worldbuilding and good stories absolutely can't save the Investigations series from its faults.

Problems with Ace Attorney Investigations

the need for the narrative to telegraph to the player how to solve problems, and forcing the player to painstakingly go through each of Miles' thought processes as a game mechanic has the opposite of the intended effect. Instead of making the player feel clever it makes Miles Edgeworth seem, very, very stupid and slow.

logic chess (from the second game) is agonizing. It's a great character bit for Egdeworth, having him conceive every logical problem as a chess problem, but its a fucking agonizing game mechanic.

circular reasoning. Every case is way too long, and it goes around in circles. I feel like this is a result of the "trial" phases being outside the court and thus having no real mediator. It's very true to life because people are going to "nu-uh" for as long as they can, but, realistic or not, t's agonizing to explain the same things to characters over and over and over.

connected to the above, all of the cases are too long, and also some of the logical leaps that the games expect you to make are some of the worst in the series. From Apollo Justice onward the games got a lot better about having a clear line of logic for where you're supposed to present evidence. Investigations and investigations 2 are just fucking guesswork.

So yeah while I definitely think these games are fantastic lore and character wise and worth experiencing, they are absolutely aggravating to play. My personal suggestion for anyone who wants to experience them is to pick a lets play/walkthrough video of their favorite variety (commentary, dub, no commentary) and enjoy them without having to worry about the terrible fucking gameplay.

Now an author from the early days of halo that help make the Fall of Reach novel. Mention how Bungie didn’t even have a proper reasons why the Spartans exist they only made them because it “cool” so the writers made the human insurrections to explain why humanity had specialized soldiers prior to the covenant invasion.

I think the whole issue is that a lot of writers just write the plot of the stories only which caused issues.

Let me compare it to assassin creed, yes that series is a mess and got retcons, sorry ac help me cope after escaping my stepmom. It set up background lore especially in ac2 where we learn the assassins and Templars and their precursors been fighting each other since Genesis and we saw how they influenced events from the fall of the Egyptian empire (shown in origins) to world wars.

So while we are finally getting a ac game set in feudal Japan later this year. There was also side content that referenced how they influence Japan history

Sorry l trailing off, but I recall in the eu books there was a covenant credit and grunts consume mainly an artificial grub.

Perhaps because you and I are autistic so we think about those parts of lore more than the writers. I am amateur writer that makes nsfw stuff for a hero I like. But a mutual of mine says I flesh out certain aspects of the characters more than the comics as that company want comics only lead to big events rather than properly fleshing out stuff.

Halo is a series that runs off of the rule of cool, many things are given a hand wave in the logic department if they are cool in a way that the writers like.

For instance the levels involving the Flood, in Halo 2 where you play as the Arbiter, do not make sense, as the Flood can infect an individual through their spores, the Arbiter walks through these levels without a respirator and doesn't get infected, while other Sangheili wear clear and obvious respirators.

Now, this was done because the Arbiter looks cooler when his face is fully visible during cutscenes, it also keeps him visually distinct.

Now, the rule of cool isn't what I'm complaining about, the Spartan program, while originally an expression of this rule, was explained fully later in the novels and extended universe works.

What I'm complaining about are things writers should constantly consider when writing, that many professional works either refuse to consider or have never considered.

Yes, I know the extended novels of Halo mention currency, and what Grunts eat, they however only mention them in passing, and do not elaborate further, it's the same as the Eldar eating fruit and veggies, like sure, they eat that but how do they grow it, or how do they procure it/make it.

Yes, that is an issue, the plot, while important for writers to focus on, can only make sense if the setting is coherent and can logically work.

Sorry, I don't consider the AC games after Black Flag to be canon, as the retcons and abandoning of the original story made me not enjoy the series, however I understand what you are trying to say, even if I refuse to talk about Nu Assassins Creed.

Fun ask: What are your favorite weapons in RWBY and in what order?

This is actually a pretty easy for me. I'll talk about 4 (see what i did there?) in particular from my least favorite up to my favorite.

Ember Celica: One of the few Gauntlet Weapons in the show & in my opinion, it's the best one. First of all, i like the design. A pair of golden bracelets that can turn into bulky, yet cool looking Gauntless that shoot shotgun rifles by THROWING A PUNCH! (well, until V6, but we don't talk about that scene in the end). I think this is a great representation of Yang's personality & it goes well with her Semblance. If she has to use her BODY to take hits, then she'll use her FISTS to deliver even STRONGER hits. It's a pretty good use of the "The best offense is a good defense" trope, which i appreciate. It's also a good way to show how smart Yang is since SHE'S the one who build it, imagine how much time & effort Yang had to put into making this weapon considering how dangerous it actually is?

Ozpin's Cane (which doesn't have a canon name as far as i can remember): Despite it's simple design, i like the way it's used like a rapier most of the time & above all else, the lore & history behind it. As Ozma passed on from host to host, he imbued his life force into the cane so that when the time is right, he'll use its true power... & BOY, did Volume 8 DELIVER on that front.

Crescent Rose: This probably wouldn't been as high as it is now for it not for V9, especially in the last chapter. I definitely LOVE Crescent Rose, it's an incredible design that's iconic. It made a Scythe that's also a Sniper, 2 things that SHOULDN'T work together, ACTUALLY work. But then we go to Volume 9, where it's used as a way to challenge Ruby's idendity, which i LOVE. I can't wait to see what the rest of V9 has in-store for her, especially Casey's recent tweet about next episode being "Edge City"... Oh boi...

Harbinger: This is LITERALLY Ragna The Bloodedge's Weapon, but with a Shotgun feature, how can i NOT love it?! Whenever i see Qrow fight with it, i ALWAYS think to myself that the writers (especially Monty back when he was alive, RIP) played A LOT of fighting games when developing some RWBY characters & their weapons. Look at Penny for example, she's a CLEAR reference & homage to Nu-13 from Blazblue. Can't say i blame them for it, this shit is lit! I also like how the scythe form of Harbinger itself is rarely used in the show, as if it's only used when Qrow is going to fight seriously, which is always hype. It's not as plot thematic as the last 3, but it's definitely the coolest & most fun to watch out of these 4 weapons i mentioned... & Now i want a scene where Qrow & Ragna are shooting the shit in a bar. Someone write a fanfic about that, i'd read it! XD

I'm currently working on a little hobgoblin race based off of the lore of the scottish brownie. (And wholly inspired by my feral friend Soda xoxo)

They reach up to about 3 and a half feet tall and currently are the embodiment of the "I swallowed shampoo" meme but without the regret.

Lets just say that this race is a menace to smaller races, a nuisance to larger races, and absolute trolls to humans.

They are in the same world as the Bensu and Rae races I've made, and are the main reason why these two tiny races live within the human's world rather than in the hidden underground.

They have a hard enough time keeping their populations stable without these feral gremlins called the Nocsici (Nu-ze-chi) being a hindrance to their well being.

The Nucsici are a very carefree and reckless race of small humanoid creatures.

Their bodies take on an array of colors (due to something we'll get into later) and they don't appear to grow that much larger than 3.5 feet tall.

They have incredibly poofy and unkempt hair that covers their eyes more often than not.

Their wardrobes seem to consist of stitched together clothes they yoinked off of some poor saps clothes line; or more commonly, they have clothes made from animal hide.

Their arms are large in comparison to their body, most having an array of feathers trailing from their wrist and past their elbows. Their hands are large and donned with big claws made perfectly for tearing at the earth or climbing in the trees.

They have comparably smaller legs that are almost bird like in appearance but they end in something more akin to cloven hooves. Despite being small, these legs are powerful and can send them dashing at surprising speeds.

They have tails that aid in this agility, keeping them balanced as they dash through their environments with fluid ease. Whether it be running on the ground or leaping between trees.

They love to pull crazy stunts and pranks, and consider themselves apex predators.

This isn't entirely untrue, they are very fearsome omnivores who will eat just about anything with their jagged teeth. They are especially scary in groups despite their small size (think of them like the packs of African wild dogs, small but deadly in packs). They often take on creatures far larger than themselves, even stealing treasures from hoarding drakes and lyndwurms for their own shiny hoards.

Like the little gremlins they are, they love shiny objects and jewels. Their homes are usually full of strange collections.

Its safe to assume that the Nucsici are in fact, collectively crazy and reckless. But don't take this as them being dumb; they are incredibly crafty, and its this aspect that is feared the most about them by other more prominent races.

They do, however, have a natural predator in the form of giant horned carnivorous moles that infiltrate their expansive cave and burrow homes. The moles seem built specifically to hunt Nucsici, but can still be fended off after some pestering from feral warriors protecting their home and people.

A Nucsici's diet seems to mostly consist of rodents, foraged fruits, goods stolen from the kitchens of other races, and whatever they can get their clawed hands on.

What is most concerning to magic bearing races however, is the fact that the Nucsici love to eat magic. They can just gobble it up, and its even more effective if they have clear sight of a target.

This makes them a detriment to races even smaller than themselves. Lets say for example, a Bensu gets caught by a Nucsici. They don't have more than their levitation abilities but that's plenty enough to encourage a Nucsici to leave them drained of their energy. This feeding doesn't inherently kill the smaller more fragile races; but they are lucky if the hobgob doesn't decide to just eat them afterwards.

Its near impossible to fend them off with magic (the word magic being used loosely, its more like they sap the raw energy of any nonphysical ability their target posses, along with their physical strength as a side affect). The more explosive the energy the more inclined they are to devour it.

(Funnily enough, non-magic entities seem to be the safest from Nucsici.)

They seem to convert stolen magic into their own form of magic which they use in many ways from transcending worlds (mostly to mess with humans for fun) to even reproduction.

Nows the prime time to mention that the Nucsici are a completely genderless race, and the way they reproduce is unconventional.

Essentially, they make a potion which manifests an egg.

Known contents of the mixture consists of the following:

Water (or any fun drink they got their hands on)

The bones of any creature

A valuable object (preferably shiny)

Glucose (the amount appears to affect just how feral the gremlin will grow up to be)

And then the uniquely converted magic of the parent(s).

There is more to it than the basic list above but its not as if the Nucsici will share that info.

The potion results in the creation of a little jeweled egg that the parent(s) will guard fervently. Nocsici, despite their carefree nature, really care for their young.

The color of the jeweled egg and subsequent hatched offspring is determined by whatever shiny valuable was thrown into the mixture.

(The Nucsici hierarchy appears to consist of Nucsici made with the rarest of valuables, and the contents of said valuables appears to determine the full strength of the Nucsici too.)

Nucsici offspring are like little chicks with far fluffier bodies and arm feathers they haven't grown into, they even chirp like little birds.

Baby Nucsici can glide with their small bodies and large feathers. They use this to play or to escape sticky situations.

And overall, I just agree about everything you said. Lore aside, it's clear that they had fun while recording and working on the album. They found the genres where they're currently more comfortable and they're going to use them.

With lore involved it can become even more tricky for groups to express themselves through the music, so i'm really glad txt are given the opportunity to do that anyway!! Homestucks canon multiverse and multi-timelines lends itself fantastically to the idea of alternate incarnations of every character.

Everyone can be some flavor of LGBT+ if you so desire.

So why oh why have they fucked it up beyond comprehension?

I mean i know the answer is incompetentence and lack of writing ability and being talentless hacks that put ideology before writing, but still!

The homestuck fandom is a breeding ground for queer characters and yet the way Hussie and co go about it is incredibly fucked up.

Like fuck, look at Kanaya, a troll lesbian, leaving out the fact that according to the webcomics own lore, that should be impossible to exist, Hussie explains how she has a "fetish" for women, not a preference, a goddamn fetish. Like im a straight male and that language seems incredibly problematic, pardon the term.

Thoughts?

For the case of Kanaya, it's more of the nu-fandom ignoring some of the problematic or actual worldbuilding of Alternia. Things like how trolls are technically incestuous to one another despite the caste names separating them. Why address or think too deeply about how a troll's next door neighbor or both the highblood and lowblood are technically a brother/sister to another and that they can fuck? They know racism exist, but why make a troll that's part of the problematic system when you can write another rise of the rebellion story like any other? To the modern fanbase, trolls from Alternia are just GREY HUMANS, not aliens with their own fucked up customs, cultures, and beliefs. It's also the fact that Hussie made it clear that everything is canon, both whatever characters are and pairings too. Because of this, nobody is in agreement or tolerant to other people's opinions. Everything is canon, but fanon preferred overshadows and bullies others if they think differently. What also doesn't help things like Toblerone wishes that are not in effect, but were PROMISED to make it happen. That's why we got the confusion of the fanbase whether to call John Egbert as JOHN EGBERT or June Egbert because of the Toblerone.

Deuxmoi is hilarious because she still tried to shield Florence from criticism by claiming that “she was probably off with Zach, they look like they’re one of those on and off again couples”

First of all, there’s no reason to believe that’s the case at all. There have been no reported “off and on again” instances between them. Second of all, I was following her while they were filming, she was very much ON with Zach. She posted pics with him in stories, lived in his mansion, and mentioned him off handed in multiple of her cooking with Flo videos.

Third of all, it’s clear Deuxmoi doesn’t know its lore cause Harry and Zach HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR A DECADE. If that was real, Florence (and Harry) would be a piece of fucking shit, not only cheating on her boyfriend with her hot co-star, but also WITH ONE OF HIS FRIENDS.

This whole take falls apart the minute you analyze it for a second. Olivia was spotted in her slippers a mile away from Harry’s house in early November. When did the whole Flo thing happen? They didn’t start filming until October 26. 😭

Not to mention that Olivia and Florence interacted on socials and posted each other (which is the only reason people even try to say they don’t get on now) up until the second it was made public that Harry and Olivia were a thing. So??

And how would Olivia even go about this leak thing? That’s such a weak ass rumor 😭 so… what? She’d go to a tabloid and say they were hooking up? Let’s say she did that. Then Harry and Florence’s camps would issue statements saying it wasn’t true. What would hypothetical Olivia do in this scenario? Go on the record like “nu-uh!!! They are!! I saw them!” Have someone from the cast testify? Did she take stealth photos like an unhinged Sherlock Holmes?

And how would that scenario look for her potential directing career if it got out? Cause why would she want to risk adding that to her resume? Like??

Even more, how did this rumor got to Deuxmoi’s “reliable source”? Who leaked it? Florence? Olivia? Harry? None of the parties look good in this scenario. Was it a shadowy figure that happened to witness the whole thing and wait *looks at calendar* 24 months to talk about it?

Why would Harry witness someone blackmail him over his personal life and then go “you know what I wanna do with this woman? Date her SO HARD. I’m gonna move her into my house with her kids. And my family will ALL interact with her and all my friends too.” Like, duh, if someone blackmails you and threatens to expose your personal business you OBVIOUSLY make them your very serious partner for two years! Because remember this is the same Deuxmoi who claims she has a reliable source that says Harry and Olivia are SO serious and even engaged.

There is no scenario in which this makes a lick of sense. Deuxmoi has outdone herself with this one.

Is Jocasta Nu in "Star Wars" an archivist or...a librarian? [Part 1]

Jocasta Nu is a oft-misinterpreted character. Wookiepedia, the premier Star Wars wiki site, makes clear that baked into the Star Wars canon is the confusion between libraries and archives, as her role as a "librarian" and an "archivist" is said to be synonymous. The Jedi Archives is called the "Jedi Temple Library," and "Great Library" at different times, with the archives operated by an assembly of librarians, and is overseen by a group of Jedi, devotees of a religious order dedicated to calmness, peace, and passiveness, who only use their abilities for defense and knowledge. In the show's expanded universe, she was one of the Jedi who maintained knowledge repositories, which some called "Lore Keepers," consisting of librarians, historians, and archivists. [1]

There is no consensus among librarians if she is a librarian or an archivist. For example, Jennifer Snoek-Brown of Reel Librarians calls Nu a librarian at times, who plays off "librarian stereotypical traits and behaviors, like hoarding information and enforcing rules and regulations" but also has "positive librarian skills and traits" in her summation, while also calling out Nu for being "imperious, condescending, and ultimately unhelpful." On the other hand, Snoek-Brown described Nu as an "archivist librarian" in 2013 and 2018, while also listing Nu in the "hall of shame," and calling her a "reel archivist" in her Master List of English-language films. There are others like Snoek-Brown who describe Nu as a librarian, like S.W. Sondheimer of Book Riot, Jessy Randall of Library Shenanigans, Librarians on YouTube, audiovisual archivist Anne Loos, and the Society of American Archivists UW Madison Student Chapter.

On the other hand, former SAA President Randall C. Jimerson described Nu as an archivist, with Researcher/Curator at the Shingwauk Residential Schools Centre, Krista McCracken, describing Nu as the same, while Sam Cross says that Nu may be a lone arranger/archivist in the Jedi Archives and Rebecca Harrison describing her as the only "professional archivist who appears onscreen." As Maddy Myers wrote in The Mary Sue, "shout-out to these librarians and archivists for their valuable work and...for their fun Star Wars observations." [2] For my part, in the past, I have described Nu as an archivist, whether in the 2002 Attack of the Clones film or the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, noting that Star Wars franchise is a muddled mess where "creators couldn’t determine whether...Nu worked at a library or an archives."

Although some have claimed have claimed that in the Star Wars galaxy, distinctions between librarians and archivists are meaningless, that is not an accurate assessment. While librarians, like archivists, preserve, collect, and make materials accessible for research, materials in archival collections are unique, often irreplaceable, while libraries, for the most part, can obtain new versions of lost or worn-out books. There is no doubt that Nu is terse, absolute, and stern in her belief that the records are complete, something which no archivist will ever say. She is also arguably a spinster who is old and stubborn, and as a character she embodies many archivist and librarian stereotypes as an old White woman, in line with how archives and archivists are often portrayed.

Furthermore, I have questioned whether the Jedi Archive has records management tools or something to check their records, asking why they blindly trust that no one tampered with the records, wondered whether she faced any consequences for missing a planet, and my takeaway from the Attack of the Clones that archives shouldn't be totally trusted. Nu is very experienced as she worked in the Jedi archives for over 30 years, reliant on data of the archives, with her archival knowledge acknowledged in some fan fictions.

Apart from this, in August of last year, I outlined her role in the 2002 film, writing that

...the archives of the Jedi Temple said to contain "possibly the single largest source of information in the galaxy," a bit like the Library of Congress, having blue-glowing books/records...Nu...the lone arranger of the Jedi Archives, asks him if he needs any assistance, helping him try to find the planet of Kamino, which does not appear in the archival star charts...After not helping him, declaring that the archives is totally immutable, Obi-Wan is literally left to contemplate, like he is in the wrong and she is in the right...This [film] has a few implications for archivists, specifically on the fact that the perception of archivists that everything in their collections is all there is, that they have everything, that records could not be tampered with."

The remaining planets in the solar system orbit a dead star. The Church of the White Dwarf (CWD) is a large religious movement that popped up a few hundered years after the collapse, worshipping the sun and harvesting the discarded space dust left behind from after it had imploded. They teach “Peace, Love, and Pursuit of Knowledge.”

CWD has often come under fire for their drug use - made of the very space dust they covet. With training, members are able to connect their minds with pre-collapse technology, interfacing in order to unlock, subdue, and destroy it. They see the dust as being sent by God to aid them in the quest of ridding the star system of infected tech, and consider themselves God’s chosen children. Studies have been done but not released, looking into the consequences such substances have in the long term. The church has also been in it’s fair share of controversies with various lawsuits from ex members, accusations of child abuse, and criminal charges after refusing medical care involving technology (notably, implants) to it’s members.

CWD has recently undergone a boom in popularity thanks to their current leader integrating music and TV into their quest to spread their message. Critics have only gotten louder, with many detractors accusing the church of being a cult.

6.  “How do you think this will all end?” for D'leah, please <3

Pinky once again picking THE juiciest possible combo of prompt + characters, everybody go thank her bc I had a blast with this 👀 I’ve been wanting to write a oneshot for this part of the story for a while and this is the perfect excuse mwahaha 

@palepinkycat here you go! Sorry this one took a little while, I haven’t had time to sit and write it out till now, but hopefully it’s a decent enough length to make it up to you! 👀

I have more to say about the body language I described in here (namely the significance of the “under chin” snuggles & also why D’leah Yelled At Abe When He Tried To Do It To Her At The End), but I have a Worldbuilding tag somewhere in my mentions so I’mma save it for that basically. More Tomato Lore gonna drop sometime in the next week or two once I’m done with the drawings skshsks I tried to do one for this one too but it was not coming out right so maybe some other time XD

I’ve seen a lot of fics explore what it’s like to have a Force bond and communicate with it but I’ve seen very few that deal with the “what if it breaks when one of them dies” side of it, so this is my take on what happens and how it probably feels for the “surviving” party; I usually describe my Force bonds as a sort of ethereal “thread” type thing that then connects their emotions/souls/however you want to see it and yadda yadda, so...you can’t tell me that snapping that thread wouldn’t fucking hurt ;-; For extra heart hurty, the song quotes were the main two songs I listened to while working on each “part” of this fic, so you can use them for ambience if you want ;)

As always I use the Coruscant Translator for (most of) my High Sith, translations are included on the bottom however :) (since the quote from the prompt is said in Sith, they’re gonna talk in High Sith sometimes being well...Sith :3)

Timeline/Setting: 3729 BBY (roughly/according to the still-holey timeline I’ve been working on since the “canon” one was released) Immediately post-Valkoriate takeover. As in, literally just happened slash is happening as this occurs.

It all happened so fast, they had to react fast if they were going to save the twins, and D’leah knew that. She’d tried so desperately to help her husband, pouring as much of her Force energy as she could through the bond they shared. It had always worked before, why wasn’t it working NOW?! D’leah didn’t know, but she could feel him growing weaker and weaker by the second. 

D’leah - his voice was so distant and faint, she almost didn’t want to acknowledge the reality of it. No, no no, he wasn’t dying he couldn’t be dying, no no no…. D-Don’t do this. Sai… her grip on the control cluster tightened until her knuckles turned pale, they were already in the air. It would be easy to do what she knew he was about to ask...but it would mean leaving him to his fate. Could she do that?

Dimly, D’leah could hear Abaron chattering to the girls behind her as he made sure they stayed in their seats, but she couldn’t hear the words any of them were saying, there was just him and that horrible, ominous weakness bleeding from her husband’s end of the bond. 

You need to run… Kissai urged her. PROMISE me. The girls-

I can’t...not without you! her mind-voice caught as if the words were difficult to form, she felt him slip further away and frantically tried to bolster his strength up again, but somehow, she couldn’t put her finger on how, it only seemed to make the other Pureblood weaker. Sai, snichi… she pleaded, and she could feel the barest attempt at a smile from her husband as he gave her his final farewell, 

Nu aki j’us, D’leah. RUN. For me...

His words were far weaker now, more forced, as if even Kissai knew he was running out of time to convey his plea. D’leah realised with a growing sense of horror that they really didn’t have another option, she had to protect their daughters. She reached towards the navcomputer to punch in the quickest hyperspace code she could think of that would get them as far away from Imperial Space as possible, but never managed to get there. 

The pain hit her so fast that D’leah had no time to prepare for it even if in reality, she’d known it was coming. First, came the white-hot metal rod of pain that jammed right down the center of her spine. Every nerve ending felt like it was on fire and it was this that was enough to cause her to cry out in pain and lose her grip on the ship’s controls as the Pureblood was thrown sideways in her seat. She managed to fall with just enough grace to get herself out of Abaron’s way and as she hit the floor and the pain kept coming, she faintly heard the man curse in High Sith as he lunged across to take her place in the pilot’s seat before they nose-dived into Force-only-knows what, out here in open space like they were. 

Then she felt the thread of Force energy between herself and her husband straining, threatening to snap, and before long, it did. D’leah knew logically there was nothing she could do to stop it, and that trying would make it hurt more, but she was desperate and on reflex she could not help but try. Frantically, she reached out with her own Force energy and clasped for each thread as it tore away from her, bit by bit, as if clutching at the strings would somehow, futilely, keep him here. Would let him live. But still, the pain came again, and again, and she fancied that the sinews of flesh being ripped from bone when she lost part of her face to that concussion grenade had been less painful than this. “No...no no no no please...please! NO!!!” Everything else was so faint and far-away in comparison that D’leah didn’t realise that her scream had been out loud this time, her fingers fumbling for her heart, though she couldn’t rightly tell if that was where the pain was truly coming from and it was simply a reflexive reaction. 

For a long while she clenched her teeth through wave after wave of pain, and while it didn’t stop, it became easier with every breath for D’leah to push it into the background. Slowly, the Pureblood’s blurry vision cleared and she realised the twins were staring down at her, wide-eyed in horror. 

She needed to get up. She needed to go to them, she needed to be strong. For them.

Saarai reached for her first, but she scooped both of them up into her arms as best as she was able, all but falling into the seat where the twins had been huddled moments before. The girls both clamored to settle themselves as close to her as they could without pushing the other out of her grasp too. D’leah held onto them as tightly as she could, only vaguely aware of Saarai’s voice as she chattered a question up at her, catching every second word or so. “Moooom!” as she reached up towards her again, and “Dad...gonna find us...right?” 

Their mother shushed them softly, adjusting her grip to fit both of the twins, as best she was able, beneath her chin. Safe. They were safe there.

“Shhh, shh-shh, my little one.” she croaked shakily, a tremor passing through her frame as she tried to keep her voice steady and convincing through the lie. “He’ll catch up later, don’t you worry.” 

They sat in silence, D’leah clutching them against her chest as if they, too, might disappear if she let them go for even one second, and Abaron took over piloting the ship so that she didn’t have to. He’d practically done all the work already, anyway. She risked a glance down at her daughters, and caught the wary glint in Saarai’s golden eyes, the sideward glance at her sister, and she knew that they knew it was a lie. But she had not the heart to tell them that yet. Not now, through the tears that had begun to stream from her eyes despite her attempts to hold them at bay. She did not mean to cry, but what else could she do??

Saarai’s tiny fingers reached up shakily, when she realised what they were, to brush the liquid tracks from her chin and the spurs on her jaw. It only made her cry more and hold them tighter.

“Nunchi woiunoks, oi ai utja…” she breathed soothingly, hoping it was convincing enough for the twins. “Mom’s got you...nothing is ever going to hurt you while I’m here.” She held them like that right until they landed.

“The daughter of a lawyer, told the fallen priest “it’s a cold, cold place in the arms of a thief”, And tapping at the arrow in her heel, she said “LEAVE ME ALONE! ...but just don’t leave me here, alright?” Alright..” ~ Iron & Wine, “Arms of a Thief” 

By the time they arrived at their destination, some planet called “Rishii” that she doesn’t ever recall knowing of before - but perhaps that’s a good thing - and Abaron managed to find them a place to stay, the pain she had felt had dulled to more of a phantom throbbing than anything else. But her consciousness felt vulnerable and empty without Kissai’s own Force presence winding around hers, she felt alone, even though physically she was not. D’leah had sung and rocked the twins to sleep, with some effort, and glanced down at them as they slept, Ni’kasi’s arms curled around her sister as she burrowed under her chin for comfort beneath the blanket their mother had tucked around them.

The pain was gone, and in its wake came the FURY. It bubbled to the surface all too quickly, and D’leah began to tremble again, a growl rumbling deep in her throat as she realised that first, the girls were theoretically out of danger, and secondly, she still had a ship. She could go back. 

“I’m going to kill that fucker.” the Pureblood wheeled for the door, only to find it blocked by Abaron, who seemed to have pre-empted her outburst. She stopped short, a hiss slipping past her teeth as her lip curled back to show her fangs briefly. “Abe. Move.” she snarled, resisting the urge to shout so as to not wake Saarai and Ni’kasi from their slumber. The tips of Abaron’s jaw spurs shook as, for once in his life, he declined to follow her order. 

“No. My Lord, I can’t let you do that.”

It took every ounce of her self control not to do worse, but as it was, D’leah tried to lunge for him so she could force her way past, he might not have been taller than her but he was stronger, and heavier too. The man reacted just as quickly, his own hands closing around her wrists to push back and keep her in place, his own feet firmly rooted in the doorway as he grunted. “D’leah! Listen to me, please!” 

The tears threatened to come to the surface again, her eyes burning hot, though this time the matriarch forced them down, though her voice still quivered as she spat, each word punctuated with a quiver in her voice.

“You have no idea how I am feeling right now!”

“Not wholly, no.” Abaron argued, releasing her arms as she dropped them back to her sides, her remaining spurs still rattling softly in agitation. “But I know that going back there now is foolish, my Lord!” 

“Get. Out. Of. My. Way!” D’leah hissed, though she didn’t have the strength left after the manic dash away from Kaas to call the lightning to her fingertips and lend to the threat she was trying to punctuate. “H-He is sitting there, on our homeworld, w-with our people’s blood on his hands!” she tried to shove him again, but her fist connected dully with the plated armour on the other Pureblood’s chest and didn’t make much of an impact on him. “They’re all dead and y-you just want me to -!!” 

“I’m trying to protect you, my Lord!” his teeth flashed back at her, yet another thing she would not have stood for if she was half as lucid as usual. He continued on further, his voice a low, agitated growl as he lowered his face to hers as if to punctuate his point. “That is my charge, it’s what you bid me to do and I will not have you risking your life for such a foolish venture, you’re not thinking straight! We are the only ones left! It’s my duty to make sure that all three of you stay alive!” 

She flinched at the reminder. Them, and Vowrawn, perhaps...if he was sneaky enough. But Abaron was right, going back would put him at risk, too. His eyes searched hers frantically, and his hands remained raised as if Abaron wasn’t completely sure he wouldn’t need to hold her back again. D’leah was in half a mind about it herself, she wasn’t sure how to react now. And what her brother-in-law said next put the nail in the coffin, so to speak: 

“Dias dari j'us minti pa saû iki wisa qorit?” he urged, the words a muttered whisper.

The Pureblood matriarch felt her anger fizzle out almost instantly as the realization sank in. The girls....they were only children. They were far too young for this. Too young, they were too young for this talk of death and loss and grief; too young to have to understand if she left them here and did not come back either. Their father’s passing would weigh heavily on them for the rest of their lives, they didn’t deserve to have to lose their mother, and on the same day, too...

She deflated, her shoulders sagging in defeat, and another tremor wracked her frame as she dropped her own gaze to the floor for the moment. “Abe...I-” 

“I know.” he sighed, relaxing as he stepped up to draw her against his chest sympathetically. She almost didn’t react, until she felt his chin brush the top of her head and she realized what he was trying to do. Despite his attempt at the gesture being comforting, D’leah jerked herself away from him to growl warningly. “Dari nindz.”

He looked momentarily taken aback, holding his hands up amicably as he apologised. “I was just...I thought you needed-” “Nu sûa nindz zo ardira!” she snapped at him, but mercifully, turned away from the door and stalked further inside once more.

Salut! J'ai parcouru tes posts et entre nous, on peut dire que transformer Illum en Starkiller est bien le moindre des péchés commis par Abrams, Johnson et Kennedy. Ces trois-là ont réussi l'exploit d'ignorer des dizaines de livres, bd, entretiens, les deux trilogies officielles et TCW, en ne retenant que les pires scénarios (Palpatine, hello?). Ils n'ont rien compris ni à Luke ni à la Force, ni... Je prétend que leur trilogie n'existe pas.

Très honnêtement, je n’ai jamais vraiment kiffé le vieux EU, et il n’a jamais été canon ni pour Lucas ni pour la team de TCW (qui l’utilisait comme concept art/inspiration - la meilleure façon de l’utiliser à mon avis, vu que ça respecte les fans sans laisser les incompréhensions et le worldbuilding contradictoire venir abimer le vrai canon - càd les 6 premiers films + TCW). 

CELA DIT, ignorer la plupart du lore de TCW et des épisodes 1-3 est une faute impardonnable à mes yeux. (Beware, ranting ahead.) Bitch??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, FORCE HEALING IS JUST A MATTER OF WAVING YOUR HAND???? BITCH??? SI C’EST SI FACILE PK ON VOIT AUCUN JEDI ESSAYER QUAND ILS SE BATTENT DANS UNE PUNAISE DE GUERRE??? Sérieux, un des plot points majeurs de RotS c’est que Palpatine prétend pouvoir enseigner à Anakin comment “sauver” Padmé. Déjà il mytho de fou, et ensuite venez pas me dire que l’Ordre aurait oublié comment on fait ou jsp quoi si c’était vraiment possible. Ils ont des punaises de docteurs!! Rig Nema, qui sait comment combiner science et Force pour que Yoda entre dans une transe spirituelle méga profonde. Ils ont la bibliothécaire la plus consciencieuse et la plus érudite de la Galaxie, Jocasta Nu!!! Genre les Jedi du temps des prequels auraient pas été au courant que tu peux juste... filer ton énergie à quelqu’un... sans entrainement, sans capacités spéciales, juste pcq tu l’as lu une fois... Ptn wtf. (Ou pire, ils l’auraient su, mais Anakin... non? Personne l’aurait jamais fait devant lui? Personne l’aurait jamais mentionné devant lui? Ils lui auraient caché ça??? Pendant une guerre??? Où des gens meurent???) 

Les seules fois où on voit des guérisons chelous dans le canon de Lucas c’est 1) Maul, qui reste en vie par pure rage - also les Zabraks ont deux coeurs mdr, ça aide - mais dont l’esprit est complètement flingué, et pi il lui faut une bonne dose de magie noire bien sale pour redevenir vaguement en forme/suffisamment sain d’esprit pour faire des phrases cohérente et 2) Ahsoka, mais elle c’est littéralement l’incarnation de l’Équilibre de la Force qui lui donne l’énergie de l’incarnation de la Lumière de la Force, avec l’aide de l’Élu/Fils de la Force sur une planète qui est la Force. Allez recréer ces circonstances mdr.

Sérieusement, j’ai tellement de problèmes les conneries du lore des épisodes 7-9. Genre Rey entend des Jedi qui n’ont pas appris à garder leur essence? Ptn, dans Rebels - la série Disney quoi, way to fuck your own lore - c’est hyper clair que Kanan est gone gone une fois le Temple de Lothal disparu. Il a fini de guider sa famille. Il est plus là. Pk Rey l’entend? 

Genre KYLO REN a été trouvé digne de devenir immortel par les Prêtresses? (Vu que son corps disparait, comme quelqu’un qui est devenu One With Da Force.) Elles ont presque refusé d’entraîner Yoda, punaise! Il a eu besoin de littéralement détruire son côté obscur wesh! 

Genre au final c’est pas Anakin - you know, the freaking Chosen One, something Lucas was very clear on - qui a tué Palpatine??? LE CHOSEN ONE A SERVI A RIEN??

Donc ouais pareil je fais genre qu’ils existent pas et ça va beaucoup mieux xD Je suis entièrement d’accord, Ilum est une moindre faute comparé à tout ça. Mais Ilum est plus personnel pour moi. En plus Ilum c’est pas leur faute, j’ai appris entre temps que le coup d’Ilum c’est dans Fallen Order. En vrai je kiffe ce jeu - bcp plus respectueux des Jedi, de la Force et du lore que les films 7-9 - mais ça me gave quand même.

Voilà donc il y a des trucs que j’aime dans le Star Wars de Disney, mais cette absolute joke de dernière trilogie n’en fait pas partie. C’est pour ça que j’en parle jamais sur mon blog xD j’essaye d’être positive et je vois pas de raison de cracher sur un tas de merde. Il en sera pas diminué, et j’ai déjà des tonnes vrais métas à écrire que j’écris pas. Pas le temps to beat dead horses, so to speak. Là c’était ma petite indulgence - flemme de retraduire en anglais, donc les gens ne sauront rien, niak niak niak.

My favourite albums

I did a write-up before on some of my favourite albums of the 2010s so I figured I’d do another one on my top albums in general - there’s no particular order here, and if you tried making me choose I’d probably cry because I love them all like their my own children.

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Perfectly synthesises Damon Albarn’s outsider style with 70s pop and hip-hop. This album drives you through a multitude of emotions. For me, the standout is likely On Melancholy Hill. Also, let’s not forget this album’s contribution to the Gorillaz lore, namely the rescue of Noodle, and also hey it’s robot Noodle in Stylo, also Bruce Willis Cop.

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

Yeah, I know people tend to vastly prefer The Downward Spiral, but to me, this album sounds more raw. Like a proto-industrial album, it’s building to something that would be captured on the Wish EP and Downward Spiral. This one still also borrows oddly from 80s dance-pop still, and it’s that weird juxtaposition of that and goth/darker aesthetics that sticks out in my brain.

The Pretty Reckless - Going to Hell

I know, this one isn’t that great or coheisive or really stand-out. For me, it’s Castle on a Hill and honestly, that front half of the album that works for me. This one is definitely front-loaded with bangers, and Momson brings an edge that was lacking for me up to that point with a lot of ‘pure’ rock albums

Paramore - Riot!

One of the best teen-agnsty punk albums of the mid 00s. Very polished production and front-to-back is just puuuuuuure quality. crushcrushcrush and Misery Bisness, and That’s What You Get were all anthemic jams.

The Weeknd - After Hours

Probably the newest album here. I honestly like it more than Trilogy - I love the narrative (he sucks and knows it, but is stuck in this destructive cycle, begins to change, but it’s too late), I love the horns and synths, it’s so damn shimmery

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory / Meteora

Okay, nu-metal deserves to be dunked-on, but this one gets unfairly stuck with the Limp Bizkit’s of the world, Chester and Mike’s back and forth is stellar, albums like this and RATM prove you can mix rock and hip-hop without coming across as insecure or cringe-y. The Hunting Party only mildy succeeded later at this, whereas this album and Meteora lay it on thick and earnest.

Denzel Curry(& Kenny Beats) - Unlocked

This is a love-letter to boom-bap, but updated without losing a step -there’s moments here where Denzel almost sounds like an up-and-coming DMX with his gravely voice

Run The Jewels - RTJ3 and RTJ4

Overtly political, but not forgetting the enjoyment-factor, El-P’s production is insane and clever, and Mike’s wordplay is next-level

Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid Maad City

As far as narrative rap goes, I like it more than Nas - that’s how good this was to me. The production is very tight, the themes and arcs in the story are very clear, and the writing on this baby is just air-tight

System of a Down - Toxicity

This was the first time I’d ever heard folk instrumentation interspersed with a genre like metal and it stuck with me. My favourite SOAD album might actually be the double album of Hynotize/Mesmerize but this one was the first

Ed Sheeran - X

Yeah, he’s kinda cheesy now but this one and + felt fresh at the time, I’m glad the minimalist singer-songwriter thing is making a comeback with artists like Rag’N’Bone Man. I’d put the honour firmly on Ed’s influence. Thinkin’ Out Loud and Sing err on the right side of chees-y for me

Young Justice:Battalion (Season 4 AU RP idea)

OK, so with the remainder of YJ: Outsiders just around the corner, it got me to thinking about the future of the Team. We have waited over 5 years for what happened after Invasion, so GOD only knows if we'll EVER see a season 4 within our lifetimes. This said, this AU Rp, that I'm thinking about making a one on one/Two on one, Intermediate effort as well as a long-running one for anyone dedicated enough, Is something I'd like to try out. Lemmie lay down the scenario for anyone interested. This is also for anyone who happens to be a fan of DC's Kingdom Come series. Teen versions of characters from that Elseworlds story as well as traditional adult ones, have starring roles. Heroes and villains alike. Now, without any further-a-do, here's the scenario in an 8 paragraph nutshell. (Some nutshell. Sorry. :S) ''The year is 2027. 10 years after the end of Outsiders. A great deal has changed in many ways. The South Korean Music Invasion of the late 10s and early 20s, along with the election of President Martin Suarez in 2020, brought a new sense of optimism to America, at least culturally. At the same time, however, a desire for the now ever growing distant past became ever more prevalent. The revivals of the Ska/Pop-Punk, Eurodance and Nu-Metal genres from the mid to late 90s and early 00s, sharing a place on the virtual charts with K-Pop groups, Folk-Pop Groups inspired by Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl, both British And American Grime artists and, oddly enough, Neo-Classical composers, has to lead to an extremely diversified music world as well as a higher sense of hope. Fertilising this ever-growing aesthetic sense of a better tomorrow, was the clearing and exoneration of many accused actors, singers, VAs and so on during the long-gone MeToo movement with names like Michael Jackson, George Takei, Jim Cummings (By now RIP), Nelly,  Nick Carter, Stan Lee, etc, being exonerated, returning to Hollywood and the entertainment industry in General, a greater sense of trustworthiness. In classrooms across the western world, Virtual Reality is becoming more prevalent, Real Meat, milk and cheese are being cloned in barrels en mass, Tv Commercials are actually watchable again, especially for Video Games, even fasion is based on a kind of ''hereditary nostalgia'' from the Late 80s, Mid 90s and Early 00s. Of course, not everything is sunshine and rainbows in the late 20s and not everything is quality. Despite the new trend of Pulp Hero Cinematic Universes and realistic romcoms in the style of Clerks, DEEPLY Experimental Horror, Adventure and Animated flicks Also dominate the box office. Outside the world of entertainment, Racism and prejudice also continue to exist as do crime and disasters. Racketeering, smuggling, Terrorism, Arson, Murder, kidnappings, Assaults and general super villainy Have been steadily on the increase and Forrest-Fires, Typhoons and especially Mudflows are becoming more frequent in Central Asia, Scandinavia and the Southern Mediterranean, thanks to climate change which, while being mended, seems to have simply migrated to other regions. Naturally, therefore, there will always be a need for Superheroes. But the old guard of humanity, The Justice League, are starting to get on in years.  Many have now been supplanted by former members of a group known as ''The Team.'' Former teen sidekicks who formed a kind of undercover, black-ops superhero group that handled covert operations the League couldn't. 15 years ago, they formed in order to step out of the League's shadow, now they have either replaced the League's former roster, while the Younger members have either gone solo, quit or gone off to join an alternative. The Outsiders, lead by veteran Hero, Black Lightning. Shortly before the Team officially disbanded, seemingly forever, Old and New members alike came together to rebuild one of the JL's old ''Haunts.'' The Hall of Justice in central Metropolis. Briefly the true HQ for the Justice League, it quickly became a front for the superior base. The Watchtower, until it's destruction by The Alien race named The Reach uncovered the League's deception. Now fully rebuilt, the Hall stands as a sign of hope that maybe, one day a new team of young heroes in need of guidance will come together to face the challenges of the present and learn from the past. Good things come to those who wait, so they say. The so-called ''Nu-Age'' has arrived. New heroes, New Powers, Young Faces. The Dark, The Bright, The Strange and experimental, The Traditionalists and Legacy holders, The powered and non-powered. The gun toters and gadget masters. Alien, human, mutant. Brash, Egotistical, Snarky, excitable, Pseudo-Nihilistic, Optimists, Tough, Kind, Strong, Quick, Big and Small, Fun and Serious, Young and Eager, Wild and Free. Maybe a combination of all or some. Names and faces such as Manotaur, 666, Nucleoid, Living Doll, Trix, Stars and Stripes among others, are the ones now trusted to defend mankind as it's defenders and champions. Of course, it's only fitting that the most ambitious one of all, the one holding these 7 loosely together is a native to Superman's home city of Metropolis, the popular teen superhero, Magog. Powerful, Shining, Charismatic, Arrogant, Intelligent, Sociable. All wrapped up in the body of one 16-year-old, Superhero Rock Star with one thing on his mind. To save the world, from itself. But dark forces are once again lurking in a seemingly ''comparatively better'' world. A new threat is beginning to emerge from the shadows, The League knows it needs back up, but with the Outsiders so busy with their own thing and the old members not getting any younger, it's time for Magog's 7, he and his ''Battalion,'' to step up, fight, learn, train, grow both as friends and as teammates and become the heroes they were always meant to be. for better...or for worse...'' So to wrap this up, The For anyone interested, the roleplaying will be done via Discord, It's for Intermediate and literate roleplayers and fans of Lore, continuity, Character AND Action-driven stories, DC Elseworlds (Kingdom Come specifically) as well as YJ. The Rating is PG-13, no smut, with Mild profanity, violence, gore, etc. Anyone who wants to discuss further lore and history and stuff like that can do so in via Tumblr IM or in the discord chat.
