7, 8, and 14 for the pride asks :)
7. Are you the "token" queer person in your family?
Kinda. I'm the only one in my family who is queer, besides my sister. So within our nuclear family, no, but over the wider family, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that's openly queer. My sister doesn't hide it, but the difference is that I actively advertise it on social media that's accessible. I even managed to make my homophobic fascist uncle stop following me on Instagram
8. Describe your gender without using any words traditionally related to gender:
This one is hard. A bomb that I don't know how to defuse. A conglomerate of everything I've found on the street. A transcendental object that I will probably never understand.
My gender is weird. I don't really believe in it. So it is kinda what I want it to be. But at the same time:
I don't want much of anything
I have unsung desires from the depths of my bowels
So it's this constant limbo/salsa dance of it being "whatever" or "not much of anything" to [most of the conceivable identities under the sun. some inconceivable ones too].
In short, my gender is a star, carefully balancing the forces of gravity, that try to make it collapse inward, and the pressure cause by fussion reactions at the core, that try to explode the star outwardly
14. How do you think other factors like neurodivergency or upbringing have impacted your identity?
Uhhhhhhh firstly nihilist philosophy has generally fucked my worldview to the point that it's not compatible with most people's perception of the world, I think. That has definitely influenced my views on gender.
It doesn't help that I love to find niche philosophical things to deep delve on. Or just think about how the world doesn't make sense so I shouldn't either. All of this to say that the fact that I'm intellectually gifted (which is a form of neurodivergence, and can be a learning impairment) led me to think to hard about gender so it broke.
Also, growing up Latino has had some influence, but not a huge amount.
This was lots of fun! Hope I can do this again. It actually helped me to elucidate something about my ~gender✨~
Anyhow, if any of you wanna talk more about gender, or ask more questions, feel free. I'm actually pretty desperate for some queer social interaction lol

Oppenheimer
the Pangea inside me crackles and spits it’s not surprising that I’d end up this way
gravity pushing in and pressure pushing out caught in an endless tug of war with my cells
eyes flickering between green and brown easily swayed by the color of a shirt or the angle of the sun
my mom says the dichotomy doesn’t define me that maternal spiritualism and paternal capitalism
do not contain opposing definitions but its more than just the frayed ends of the divorce
the noises all become too loud when you are always defined as separate
as the other parent, as the other friend, as the other side northern and southern Italy declare war within me
insult the other over the bargaining table of my heart and seconds turn into light years
swords and javelins become guns and heavy tanks and iron weeps something congealed and red
and I think I understand now, why Van Gogh cut off his ear why Oppenheimer slashed into the cores of atoms
war is etched into the spiral coils of my DNA chaos tingling at my fingertips
and the only way to be heard over the subversive cold war between the two is to shout even louder
contentment cannot be found in mutually assured destruction or in billowing white flags that make blood look even redder
stalemates leave a different kind of devastation in their wake the type that has every atom in my body vibrating
a battlefield amputation to save the larger body but really every fight or attack or skirmish looks the same
at the end of it all comes the persistent radiation the flooded trenches and pocked earth and mass graves
and undetonated bombshells future generations will fearfully tip toe around on their way to school or work or….
a battlefield of self-destruction held in potential energy I know they hate each other more than they hate me
but for them an outright declaration is another kind of failure my atomic bonds have already begun to fracture
I’m simply an easier target

WOMEN IN STEM
Lise Meitner (1878-1968) was an Austrian-Swedish physicist who contributed to the understanding and evidence of nuclear fission and was involved in the discovery of the element protactinium. Meitner studied at the University of Vienna and obtained her doctorate degree in physics in 1906. She worked with the scientist Otto Hahn for 30 years and in 1918 they discovered protactinium. Meitner discovered the radiationless transition known as the Auger effect (named after Pierre Victor Auger who discovered it 2 years later) in 1923. Hahn and Meitner’s experiments in nuclear fission were published in 1939 and Hahn was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry while Meitner’s involvement sadly was not mentioned. In 1966 Hahn, Meitner, and Strassman were awarded the Enrico Fermi Award.
Quote: “You must not blame us scientists for the use which war technicians have put our discoveries.”

Nice Cool Star Wars The Mandalorian Shirt
That doesn't even make sense. Within the same thought you say that electric shouldn't be used until it is measurably better than traditional methods and also say that we should invest in nuclear fusion/fission. How many portable nuclear engines have you seen? How many electric? Obviously if you had any reality based knowledge you'd have realized that we are much more capable of and closer to developing electric engines at parity with or better than combustion than we are to minitiuarizing nuclear power. No I am not talking about nuclear power plants (fission and fussion) powering our homes, as we were talking about alternative sources of energy. I also said that electric vehicles should not be used until electric vehicles are measurably better than gas vehicles.

A floating city. From my sci-fi universe: Dino Odyssey. Sclatorus is famous for its technological advacement. Sclatorus engineers are the best of the best. So they create great floating cities where they can grow without worrying about space limit. These cities works with powerful fussion nuclear energy reactors and electromagnetic fields that keep the city in the air. Drones maintain the city and their numerous airports. Hope you like it. #dinosaur #dinosaurs #city #sky #fly #floatingcity #drones #scifi #tech #technology #airport #aircraft #world #design #conceptart #originalworld #originaldesign #dinodrawer #dinoodyssey #art #draw #drawing #sketch #sketchbook #pen #pendrawing #traditionalart

These diamond batteries made from nuclear waste can last 5,000 years
[ad_1]
Scientists from the University of Bristol’s Cabot Institute have discovered an innovative way to recycle radioactive waste. In December last year, they designed a diamond that can generate electricity and last for over 5,000 years. A report by the World Economic Forum read,
The radioactive uranium in nuclear power plants split during the process of nuclear fussion. When split, these…

day 11 of highschool
it was good! savannah wasnt there during social studies cuz of sectionals or some shit and i spent all of english kind of panicking mentally because sometimes i feel like all my friends are slipping away and i can't do anything to stop it
but then i sat at lunch with them and we sung musicals and listened to nightcore and i was just overreacting i guess
my bio teach was talking about this one thing boston was doing with tiny suns n nuclear fussion and i couldnt stop thinking about spiderman 2 dude i gotta find the article he was talking about
i tried to sit down in health and my fucking chair was under the desk???? but the wrong way??
Tumblr media
like what is this shit???
i get to fake bully a 6' kid for a theater class project so thats fun
i also talked to neo! neo is cool i just dont know anything about them or how to talk to them or people who i dont share an immediate common interest with
im almost done my dragon puzzle its cool as hell
i was trying to do english hw but i put it off for too long and now im tired and i cant focus
but shoutout to los campesinos! for not only being the best band ever but also being easy for me to rant about on my english assignments

Day #119
Today I started with a math class on the IIT JEE test for preparation but stopped to go to a different lesson. The other lesson I did was inverse trigonometric functions, arcsin which is equivalent to sin^-1, arctan which is equivalent to tan^-1, and arccosine which is equivalent to cos^-1. In this, I solved for certain variables with in order to replace thete. I also learned how to restrict the domains of functions in order to make them invertible as well as doing a few practice problems and reviews in order to develop my understanding if the topic. To finish off the lesson, I also looked at a t-chart that articulated the restrictions of functions in radians and degrees. In radians, -pi/2<_arcsin(thete)<_pi/2, 0<_arcos(thete)<_pi, and -pi/2<_arctan(thete)<_pi/2. For the domain, -90^o<_arcsin(thete)<_90^o, 0^o<_arccos(thete)<_180^o, and -90^o<_arctan(thete)<_90^o. After that, I took an algebra class on extending arithmetic sequences based on there constant rate of change. I then took an environmental science class on how birth control and other contraceptives are used to reduce population growth rates. These are widely used and some are even permanent in order to ensure decreased population growth. I also learned about how empowering women can advocate a lower population because women get a better education, better jobs and most likely a better life. These factors are examined my demographers and are referred to as societal factors. This can help give WOMEN the right to chose how many kids they want or if they even want them at all. I then took a part two chemistry class on nuclear chemistry that articulated Binding Energy which is the amount of energy required to remove nucleons from a nucleus, I also learned about the mass-energy equivalence formula, E=mc^2. Binding Energy is calculated by using the mass-energy equivalence formula. I also learned about Mass Defect which can be derived and applied to the mass-energy equivalence formula and is the difference between the total mass of the individual nucleons in a nucleus and the nucleus as a whole. M can replace this number and then you can square the speed of light in order to calculate the energy. I also learned about Fission and Fussion which have to do with bonding and separating nuclei. Next, I read chapter 7 of “Animal Farm” which was about the execution of trader animals that had links to Snowball, their previous leader and also articulated the growing dominance of their current leader, Napoleon, which I think resembles some sort of Monarchy. This chapter also articulates how the animals are beginning to disperse and become less united. I also did some research on the Polybia Paulista wasp, this time on their reproduction tendencies and schedules. After that, I did a quick exercise and then took some lunch. After lunch, I took an English class on the difference between less and fewer which was brought up in Robert Baker’s book called “Reflections on the English Language.” Less can be used with both count and mass nouns while fewer can only be used with count nouns. This is dictated only by developed style and culture but can be used however. Next, I read chapter 11 of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.” After that, I read about Alice Paul who lead a protest at Woodrow Wilson’s inauguration in 1912. The helped to bring suffragist sympathy and the development of women’s rights and power. It also helped to formulate the 19th amendment. Then, to finish off the day, I took an economics class on Milton Friedman’s answer to “Responsibility to the Poor.”
