Were you named after anyone?

Sort of? My first name (and now dead name) is original, but my middle (and preferred name) comes from one of my great aunts on my mom's side

When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday

Do you have kids?

Not yet, but I'd like to have some in the future (the distant, older, financially stable future)

I'd like 2-3, and I'd like to adopt all but one

Do you use sarcasm?

(Scarcastically) No, never.

Yeah, all the time. It's almost a reflex for me

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

This will sound strange, but I notice clothes first. I think it probably comes from growing up in the south and desperately trying to find fellow queer people I to befriend. I know that's a huge stereotype, but it's also worked very well for me and the place I live.

I'm also getting more into fashion, so I'm on the lookout for styles I like

What’s your eye color?

Green!

Scary movies or happy endings?

Neither? I guess I don't engage with horror much (though ironically I love writing it), but I really prefer movies and books that don't end perfectly. Stuff like "Lady Bird," or "The Vanishing Half"

I would say happy endings, though, if I had to choose

Any special talents?

Okay, what are we counting? I think I have a pretty decent voice, and I can flip my phone in the air really fucking fast and catch it every time

Writing too, but that's more of a career and a hobby to me

Somewhere in Florida

What are your hobbies?

Writing and reading, sometimes I do random crafts like painting or horrible knitting. I also really like plants and can keep them alive

Writing fic and engaging with Stargate also count to me

Have any pets?

One cat: Nyx

What sports do/have you played?

I hated sports when I was a kid, and I hate them now. Though I do love swimming and was on my high school's team for a few years until school overwhelmed me.

I like to workout

Playing a low stakes game of badminton or bouncing a basketball around can also be fun :)

A whopping 5'1

Favorite subject at school?

Anything relating to English or history. I'm actually a creative writing major and a history minor!

Dream job?

Someone pays me to write novels, and I get to be a professor and teach students about the merits of science fiction and fantasy as genres. There's a HUGE problem with elitism and the idea that books only have value if they're literary fiction. I think that's bull and would love to get paid to change peoples minds.

who is more likely to hurt the other?

Definitely Nyx... at least definitely in the story itself. Basically when they realize that they’re getting too close, they have to push Avery away to keep them safe (bc they, you know, blame themself for the death of Iris, and don’t want Avery to get hurt because of them). They end up hurting them a lot. Not because they want to, but.... yeah... 

who is emotionally stronger?

I mean Nyx doesn’t really have emotions so I’d say Nyx I guess lol  

who is physically stronger?

Definitely Nyx. Avery is a noodle. 

who is more likely to break a bone? 

My first thought was to say Avery, because they are clumsy and make stupid decisions and are also fragile af, but I guess in Nyx’s line of work, they might come across more situations like that so I’m honestly not sure

who knows best what to say to upset the other? 

Gotta say both for this one. They know EXACTLY how to grind each other’s gears in a lot of ways. But if I had to pick one, I’d probably say Nyx. 

who is most likely to apologise first after an argument? 

It depends on the argument, but I’d say probably Avery 

who treats who’s wounds more often? 

I mean, Nyx is way more likely to get hurt... but also Avery doesn’t know much about that kind of thing, so I’m not sure for this one 

who is in constant need of comfort? 

Avery. Always. They are a Sad Bean and feel things very strongly. 

who gets more jealous?

Neither lol, I can’t see either of them getting jealous 

who’s most likely to walk out on the other? 

Nyx. They basically remove themself from a situation if they are extremely annoyed or upset, because they want to make sure they don’t do something they regret. 

who will propose? 

Neither, actually. They’d have a conversation about getting married, decide to get married, and not have a big proposal or anything like that. 

who has the most difficult parents?

Well.... I mean I’d say both of their parents tie for kicking their queer kids out of the house and disowning them and never speaking to them again. Nyx’s parents did it first when they were still in high school so maybe them? 

who initiates hand-holding when they’re out in public? 

They both do it at the same time. They know each other really well. 

who hogs the blankets? 

AVERY. ALL THE TIME. NYX FUCKING HATES IT. It’s part of why they don’t always sleep in the same bed once they’re together lol. 

who gets more sad? 

I mean both of them? They’re both dealing with a bunch of mental health issues and trauma so... Avery definitely shows it more, but they both do a lot. 

who is better at cheering the other up? 

Avery is really really good at cheering Nyx up, mostly because Nyx finds everything they do either obnoxious or hilarious 

who’s the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes?

Definitely Nyx. Or rather... instead of playfully slapping Avery, they’ll just stare at them deadpan for an uncomfortably long amount of time. 

who is more streetwise?

Nyx. They were homeless for two years so... yeah. 

who is more wise?

Probably Nyx, just because they have more life experiences. Not to say that Avery’s experiences don’t matter or don’t teach them anything, but Nyx had to figure out how to handle being a professional murderer for a living so... 

who’s the shyest? 

Avery, for sure. They’re both introverts, but Avery hates most social interactions, Nyx can at least put up a pretty good facade.  

who boasts about the other more? 

Nyx boasts about Avery and how smart they are constantly. They’re literally just like “and yeah, my partner is so great, they got a masters degree in history so they could go work at a museum, and they’re literally the most driven, hardworking talented person I know, holy shit I love them so much.” 

who sits on who’s lap?

Avery sits on Nyx’s lap, and Nyx learns to love it
